Gorgeous view, lovely room, and serene hot springs. Staff was extremely friendly and pointed out which routes to the attractions were the easiest, which were under maintenance, and how to get to places by bus or by foot. Front desk also kindly helped me search for a lost item, scouring even the bus from Taichung in the process.

Bus from Taichung was easy to book, comfortable, and clean. Buffet was delicious. One thing to mention: If you want to eat anywhere but the buffet or the lobby, make sure to book in advance!

This hotel was absolutely amazing! It is one of the most well staffed hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The staff are gracious and kind and beyond helpful. The buffet was absolutely amazing. The rooms were perfectly clean and comfortable. The view from our room was breathtaking. The entertainment was excellent. This hotel was perfect in every possible way. I really can’t say enough good about this hotel. We travel frequently and stay in five star hotels everywhere we go. This one was one of the very best!!!

Good to have the check in done on the hotel shuttle bus, upon arrival one would just need to go straight to the assigned room without the waiting at check in.

Was worried given Taiwan’s humidity, the hotel would smell moldy however my worries was unfound.

Service is considerate, example,
1) they would call to check in reminder for dinner.
2) they would have someone in the elevator (guest floor) to minimize guest waiting time to expedite check out

Only qualm is the repetitive items at buffet dinner, otherwise it is a comfortable and relaxing stay.

I wanted to share some thoughts on the hotel. It boasts a beautiful lakefront location with excellent views. The food, particularly the breakfast, is fantastic if you enjoy traditional Taiwanese cuisine.

If you have your own car, getting around from the hotel is quite convenient. However, finding a taxi can be challenging; we were fortunate to get one to and from the hotel. Be prepared for a potentially long wait if you plan to rely on taxis.

After staying at Fleur de Chine for 3 nights at Sun Moon Lake we had breakfast and lunch before taking the free hotel bus back. It is amazing that as we leave several staff waved and bowed to us as we left. We enjoyed our stay at Fleur de Chine. The breakfast and dinner buffets were delicious and we tried out some local flavors. I loved swimming in the pool, and we both enjoyed the mineral baths.

This is nonsense - i wont ever go back - i want mineral water sorry. The cost account needs to be fired.

One other thing get some decent spirits Beafeater and Gordons gin went out in 1980! Mackellian whiskey maybe 1985!

The overall service is good and the room is comfortable. However, we upgrade our breakfast to the rooftop by paying extra for every person. On that day, it was raining hard. I checked with the butler to confirm it is feasible to do the rooftop breakfast. I was advised that there is cover to shade the rain. However, it was leaking everywhere and it was really cold even with blanket provided. The staff as doing his best to accommodate us. However the overall condition for the rooftop dining under the rain is extremely poor. They should have moved us to a warmer and dry place.

This hotel's design is unreasonable. My family all got injured during our stay, like finger got pinched by the wardrobe door, foot was cut in the bathroom, and hitting head on the door of the public restroom, resulting in a swollen bump. The corridor in the hotel room had a musty smell, and in the hotel pool area, guests are not allowed to wear shoes, but the floor is very rough and painful to walk on, while employees are allowed to wear shoes. The design of the hotel’s elevator is confusing, and there are a lot of guests, making the whole hotel very noisy. The buffet offers a wide variety of food, but one of the cooks had an unfriendly attitude. If you ask for something a few times, they become impatient, and when the vegetables run out, they can't be bothered to add more. I once ate some wild vegetables that made my mouth numb, and after Googling it, I found out that they were undercooked. It was a terrible experience.

Staying here was a wonderful experience that we will not forget! The location, food, and amenities were of course stellar, and our room with the balcony-side private onsen tub was luxurious.

What stood our most, however, was the service. Staff was attentive and kind to the highest degree.
For example, with only 1 hour notice, I called the front desk to help surprise my partner for her birthday with a treat in our room upon our pending return for the evening. Within an hour, they had set up an extravagant birthday display and a wine bottle with glasses. It made our trip even more special and I am grateful!

Additionally, as English speakers, we had no problem with the language barrier and found that most staff spoke proficient English.

This property is wonderful in every way imaginable. The property is in a great location with a bus stop right across the street that transports you around the Lake. In addition, the breakfast and dinner buffets are out of this world abundant with too many options to mention. I would recommend anyone who wants to visit Sun Moon Lake to stay.

But how great Fleur de Chine Hotel is I want to say that Expedia customer service is complete garbage. I've been a customer for decades and each year I keep getting amazed at how much crappier their customer service can get. My reservation during booking said that they took a deposit at the time and I'm supposed to pay the balance at the hotel but when I arrived they said that they never received the deposit and that I needed to pay in full. The subsequent 40 minutes we tried to get in touch with Expedia customer service greatly angered both myself and the reception desk. We gave up and ended up doing my own detective work in going back through months of credit card statements to see if a deposit was taken. It turned out that it wasn't so the Hotel was correct but Expedia was wrong.

I don't know why I'm surprised that this was the outcome considering that my sister recently booked an entire vacation through Expedia. However, due to some mixup, she wanted to reinstate a hotel which Expedia refused. Not sure I want to continue to use them

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights at the property. It’s secluded but a short (free) bus from the hotel to Ita Thao or you can participate in one of the many activities on site or facilitated by the property. For tourists it’s very easy to get to with a free shuttle from Taichung HSR station.

The staff were extremely attentive to all of our needs - including a complicated food restriction. The facilities are amazing - we loved water world, the massage, view of sun moon lake from the room, and the FOOD was amazing. Every day we were surprised and delighted by a new experience provided by the hotel.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay - we will be back again!!

All around the Hotel was absolutely amazing. The view of the lake from the lobby is stunning as you enter the hotel. The staff here treat their guest like royalty and would like to thank them for giving top notch service all-round the hotel. My wife and I found our room very clean, comfortable and the in-room onsen very relaxing. The hotel also has an amazing common area waterworld pool section and private gender specific onsens which I highly recommend taking advantage of during your stay. They are clearly not trained well in hospitality. They have a nice big breakfast buffet, but I didn’t see my butter near the bread. So I asked if they had butter and was told they don’t have that now. They couldn’t be bothered to go get me a couple packets of butter because there procedure is they don’t it out with breakfast. $500 a night for a hotel in Taiwan where they don’t understand basic hospitality is crazy.

We had a fantastic stay at Fleur de Chine. This is an exceptional hotel on all fronts. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a suite with Tatami room and incredible views across Sun Moon Lake from our terrace. Our kids had a blast in the pools and with the many activities. The location right on Sun Moon Lake allowed for some great walks around the lake and hikes through the surrounding forest. The staff were also incredible from check in to check out and always took the time to prioritize guests. We needed directions to a trail from a staff member and he stopped what he was doing and took us on a 10 minute walk around the hotel exterior, taking the time to explain all about the area and hotel history. We also appreciated the all-inclusive format for meals and in room snacks and the buffet was amazing in both quality and selection. We will definitely stay again.

Five Star Experience with Exceptional Staff

Fleur de Chine was an unforgettable experience that exceeded all our expectations. The food, amenities, and views were all exceptional, but what really made our stay special was the care and support of the staff.

In particular, Ryan Lee and his team went above and beyond to ensure my wife had an amazing birthday surprise. Ryan coordinated to have a cake, wine, balloons, a light-up happy birthday sign, and slideshow with pictures of friends and family on the TV in our room when we arrived. In planning the surprise, Ryan was kind and professional in our email correspondence. He organized the photos I sent him and was always prompt and courteous in his replies. He executed the plan perfectly and my wife was elated when we checked into our room, having no idea Ryan and his team were working hard to help celebrate her birthday.

Fleur de Chine provided us with a five star experience. Ryan and his team deserve special credit for their work, but everyone we interacted with from the attendants at the pool and hot springs to the service members at the buffet always greeted us with a smile and genuine kindness. We will be recommending Fleur de Chine to anyone who goes to Sun Moon Lake, as we are already dreaming of the next time we can go back.

Wow! The Fleur de Chine was probably one of my favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed at. It boasts the most insane views of Sun Moon Lake from each floor as well as the lobby, the staff/service are impeccable, and most of all, it is SO kid friendly. There is an entire play area on the first floor for children as well as a water park that as hot tubs, spa jets, and sauna for adults but also a fun water slide and ball pit for kids. The breakfast and dinner buffet are also delicious and has such a huge variety. We can’t wait to come back again some day!!!

Exceptional property! Wow! We were traveling from Canada with two kids. Coming from the Mandarin Oriental in Taipei, I imagined that would be hard to beat. FDC was even better! The buffets are extensive with options for any taste including a kids ice cream bar. The indoor “waterworld” is a series of hot, medium and cold pools with funky bubble seats and even a water slide and tiny ball pit for kids (bring a bathing cap if you don’t want to purchase one). It’s great that pool is indoors because that area rains a lot. There is nightly singing entertainment, which my kids enjoyed. There is also a great indoor kids space with slide, ball pit, indoor rock wall (all free). The A/C in our room wasn’t working so they kindly moved us to another room which was Japanese style suite. The extra 3 sleeping mattresses lower to the floor were convenient for the kids. Overall I highly recommend FDC, their website does not do justice to the facilities and service experience.

The classy, elegant and clean environment was amazing. The view at the wing facing the road leaves more to be desired as there were cars and construction below the hills. I made the mistake of not locking in the price at time of booking and was made to pay at least half the price more on the spot. Service was impeccable. Food selection at breakfast and dinner was great. Even the pillow choices astounded me. Overall impressed but was at a premium price.

Luxurious, Fun and Serene!

I loved my stay at Fleur de Chine in a Deluxe Suite and am already planning a return trip!!

PRO's:
- Stunning views of Sun Moon Lake
- Extremely clean
- Outstanding service that is both polished and warm
- Impeccable, beautiful room and bathroom
- Hot spring in your own bathroom
- Right on the lake, with a walking path all around the lake that is accessible right next to the hotel
- Great buffet for dinner and breakfast (For vegetarians, let them know ahead of time and they will also provide an additional meal set for dinner on top of the buffet offerings)
- Fantastic and proactive communication from the hotel prior to the arrival date
- Free bus transfer from the high speed rail station to the hotel, with check-in done right on the bus (brilliant!)
- Daily fun activities offered by the hotel at no charge
- Care and attention to detail was apparent throughout the entire hotel

CON's:
- None except that it's on the pricey side

I highly recommend taking a trip to Sun Moon Lake and staying at Fleur to Chine. You will be well taken care of, and will emerge refreshed and revived from this beautiful setting!More

with the price, i think the staff are not trained well enough... they have no idea what is around the area and the transportation is ridiculous.... the whole hotel is crowded by tour bus. Im just not sure if i would spend this much money in the hotel like this, i expect a more calm and quiet area....

Friendly but disappointing

Friendly helpful staff with attention to the details.
As our stay did include breakfast and dinner buffet, I’ve been a bit disappointed.
Perhaps to the full booking of the hotel from 30.12.-01.01. (Room 729), the dinner and breakfast experience wasn’t that nice.
Especially when you stay at a 51star hotel and receive a 2-3 star experience.
Tables were not prepared with salt&pepper grinders no nicely made up.
It was like a mass handling of people with deduction of quality and customer experience.
I feel like getting ripped off with an overpriced stay!

On all other times I can recommend that place, but not on peak periods.
A hotel shall always stay up and above the standard, which they definitely didn’t even get close to it.

Weekend of Mix-Ups

Overall, the facilities were good and the location was wonderful.

Unfortunately, there seems to be issues with their internal communication. Despite calling a few days earlier to sort out appointment times to use the various facilities (since we were a large group), there still ended up mixups/miscommunication regarding pool availability (ie initially told they couldn’t accommodate most of us at the pool during checkin) and dinner seating (ie not enough for the entire group). Thankfully these were all sorted out eventually. But it’s unfortunate that these were issues as we were assured they’d be taken care of on the phone.

There were also other mixups with our group re: reserved room types being unavailable (they had reserved two beds but only rooms with one bed was available upon their check-in). They ended up having to pay for an upgraded room. These are only a few examples.

All I can say is that we had a wonderful trip but I’m doubtful I’d go back…especially at this price point.
