I’m not trying to be rude, but I wanted to leave honest feedback in hopes that it helps improve future guests’ experiences. Unfortunately, the staff was extremely rude and unprofessional during my stay, which made me feel unwelcome.

The hotel also was not as nice as it appeared in the advertised photos. The rooms and overall property did not match the expectations set by the pictures online.

Another issue was the shower design. The shower is built in a way that causes water to spill out and flood much of the bathroom floor during normal use, which was frustrating and inconvenient.

I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as I believe addressing these issues could greatly improve the experience for future guests.

Location was great. The front staff were friendly & helpful at check-in, but the lady at check-out never looked up from her phone. The room was a great size, and the AC was amazing! The bathroom shower pressure was just above a dribble.
The hotel as a whole needs lots of TCL and updating. As of now, it was overpriced for what I got. The location and staff (for the most part) are its saving grace.

Room fairly clean. Blinds broken people could see inside room, phone in room didn’t work. Hair on one of the beds. Table lamp rusted. However, the staff was great. Desk clerk brought up a sheet to put over window and I was given a partial credit for my stay. The price of the room didn’t fit the amenities. I wouldn’t stay there again.

The bed had an uneven mattress, with unfitted sheets and the spring box mattress was metallic all around, so it was very noisy. The hotel needs an overall upgrade. The checking area was cluttered and disorganized. I wouldn’t stay again or at least for no more than 1 night.

The location was great! Within walking distance to the beach. Pool was nice. Although they were late to unlock every day. The beds were good. Air conditioning was fantastic!! Free coffee was good. They do not offer free breakfast as it advertises. The property could be better maintained. Lots of parking available. Staff was friendly.

The location was perfect. It was just across the street from the beach. The room wasn’t amazing for the price but I guess we were paying for the location so it was ok. The bed and pillows were awful. Bring your own pillow and if you have a bad back it will be worse by the morning. The pool was nice and the ice cream shop attached was great.

Reception was one of the worst I have experienced, but maybe they did their best. Felt unwelcome which doesn’t sound like a big deal, but it matters. Ice cream on the property was 2 dips for 15.96! Each side of our two doubles was caved in. The tub didn’t drain. This became gross. Nice fridge, maids were helpful with towels, TV worked. There was no working Internet. The location is across from beach. Bring a cot for persons 3 and 4 if you need the location to be close to beach. Put your own ice cream in freezer, and brace yourself for front desk. Rained / double red flags for ocean/could only sit by beach for 3 days. Was okay.

I’m not really sure where to start.. when we arrived we were greeted and checked in although it was a bit discombobulated. We got to our room and there were gaps around the door that we later discovered also let the rain in through the cracks. There were also what appeared to be burn holes in the bedding.
There is zero noise control in the room. We could hear people having conversations down in the parking lot from inside the room with the door closed (we were on the 4th floor). We understand the staff cannot control this, but just be aware that it is noisy. The time we did complain was when a group of rowdy children woke us up each morning before 6:30am by screaming and knocking on our door. The solution to this was to loudly tell the children to go back to their room which did nothing to stop them.
The elevator was very damp each time we used it and had a large potential to be a slipping hazard.
There was mold in the shower area and several areas of water damage on the ceiling as well.

The positive is that it is close to the beach access and the ice cream parlor on the property was delicious.
I can’t say we would ever stay here again. We were pretty disappointed to say the least.

It was pretty clean, house keeping was so nice.They came around everyday seeing if we needed anything.We couldn’t get hooked up to the internet and our keycards kept deactivating, thus having trouble getting into our room every day.

The resort was within walking distance to the beach. The staff was very polite and helpful. The property could use a little maintenance work. The rubber seal on the bottom of our door was half way off when we got there. By the time we left it was totally off. The toilet paper roll holder kept falling out of the wall.
They did have a microwave and refrigerator in our room which was very helpful. They do not have hair dryers in their rooms.

We had a great time staying at Beachside Resort Hotel in Gulf Shores. The location was perfect—just a short walk to the beach and directly across from our favorite restaurant, Bahama Bob’s. The hotel had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a clean and comfortable queen room. The staff was friendly, and the convenience of being close to both the beach and great dining made our trip even better. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Gulf Shores!

So much cheaper than a condo. Our rooms have always pretty clean. Sand is hard to be completely rid of, so sometimes there are traces of sand in spots. Convenient for beach access.

The floor was wet in its entirety. The chair was without a cushion and had metal showing. Expedia said that breakfast was included it was not. There was mold in the bathroom caulk. There was nowhere to plug in the coffee maker. We put it in the floor. It was disgusting. There was a bag of trash in front of the elevator that remained there. The pool was milky looking.

The only thing good about this place is the location, Room was awful. Mold, hair, run down. The doors have no weatherstripping, you could see the light coming through. Smelled weed constantly. I went to tell the front desk, she didn’t really care to hear my concerns, just said “okay”. Spend the extra money & get beachfront
I had my children with me and the “meh” attitude shows how much they probably deal with this

I was at first hesitant to book the room be it wasn’t “on” the beach. But let me tell you that concern went away quickly. It takes 3 minutes to walk across the road and you are there. A lot of places to eat and listen to live music within walking distance. Only complaint was the air conditioning wasn’t that great but we went to Walmart and bought a fan and were just fine. Would and will definitely stay again.

If you're on a tight budget, this place isn't bad. But it also isn't great. The fixtures are old and/or rusty. The bathroom does not have shelving to place items on when you're using the toilet or the shower. The vanity light around the mirror wouldn't come on. There was no back on the battery compartment of the TV remote. The floor was a bit grimy and there was already sand on the bedspreads when we first arrived. Lots of small things like that which add up and make the experience a little less enjoyable. That said, the location is great. Super short walk to the beach and restaurants! If you won't be spending much time in your room, you may not care about the negatives. But if you have small kids that need naps, plan on lounging in your room, or otherwise need to spend significant time at the hotel, this may not be the place for you.

Check in was top notch, staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel itself is dated. The floor in our room was very slippery and dirty, I know this because bottom of our socks were black. Bed was not firm. Could have used a small table in the room so we could have eaten our leftovers. The pool needs to be cleaned and repaired, and pool funiture all needs to be replaced. The ice cream shop in front of hotel was awesome! For a short stay it is acceptable

While the staff was very friendly and even helped us check in an hour early, the hotel itself was definitely in need of repairs. Our room had old, moldy molding that was falling apart, and there was mold in the bathroom near the shower. The bed squeaked loudly every time we moved, after a while, we just started laughing about how noisy it was.

The proximity to the beach was great, and there were lots of restaurants and things to do nearby. You definitely get what you pay for here. If you’re looking for a low-cost, no-frills place and don’t mind a little mold, this may work for you.

I do want to say again that the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

good location but very poorly maintained. Floors were dirty in the room, bed sagging, broken, curtain rod in shower bent down, not functional, shower head pulled out of the wall but worked. TV controllers and dresser drawer held together with Scotch tape. Leave the room (301) take the elevator down and you are rewarded with dried puke on the stainless steel elevator door.

I would have left immediately but there is a no refund policy. I don't know how an owner of a property like this can function. Maybe it was just the third floor and room 301, but I doubt it.

I asked for a trash bag they only had the tiny clear extra small ones. No breakfast but they have a pool and u have to walk across the highway to get to the beach . Over all it was a ok stay I wish they would have swept my room I stayed 3 nights and my floor had got very sandy .

Not sure how this hotel got the rating (8/10) when it was terrible. There was paint peeling in the bathroom. The pool had broken unusable furniture and wires pulled out of electrical panel. I will never believe Expedia’s reviews again without more research.

The facility and room were so bad, that the first night we checked in I called Expedia asking if we could get a refund for the remaining three nights of our stay. The place was old and run down, one of the websites advertised breakfast-nope, didn't have that, didn't even have hangars in the closet to hang your clothes-really? When I asked the front desk about that, the person said "there is a Dollar General down the street where you can buy some"-really??? In four days there, had trash in room emptied one time. Only reason we didn't check out and ask for a refund is that there wasn't much else available, and it was close to the venue we were interested in. Stay away from this one! Pay the extra money and get something decent.

The location is great. The staff is, at best, uninterested. The condition of the rooms is clean but in bad shape. A/C sounded like a motorcycle (it did cool well!), blinds were missing some slats so you couldn't keep the room dark and they were crooked. There was mold in the bathroom. The amenities in the room were good, the towels were good and glean. Parking was great.

Room had a musty smell. Tv was on when we entered room. Found out why cause the volume button did not work so you couldn't turn tv down. Decided to unplug it for awhile but when we tried to turn it back on no luck. Was without tv for the rest of stay. When we unplug tv microwave and other things cut off. There was a power strip behind cabinet that the tv was above that several things were plugged into to and it kinda smelled hot. There were 2 or 3 outlets that did not work so i guess that explained the power strip. Toilet paper holder was torn off wall and the mattresses on beds were horrible. If you check in and they say room 104 you best decline.

The location was fantastic; you can walk to pretty much anything if you want to. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The first room we received was in poor condition and had several issues (plugs didn't work, fridge went out, bedside table missing, blind broken). We notified the front desk the next day and we were moved to what appeared to be a much nicer (updated) room. Once we moved rooms, we didn't really have any other issues, except that they sink in the new room wouldn't drain. It wasn't a huge issue for us, though, because we were staying a very short time, so we didn't report it. The hotel is older, so I didn't expect it to be pristine, and overall, for the price and location, it was a great place for a short beach getaway.
