Everyone was welcoming. We wished to have supper under the stars and that was accomplished. It was almost closing time when we arrived. I was served a massive tasty hamburger. Biggest I've ever seen.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL, YOU MAY SHOW UP TO A CANCELLED RESERVATION. I booked this hotel since a good friend of mine was getting married and the reception was at this hotel, that way I could enjoy myself without the need of having to worry about driving afterwards. When I arrived to the hotel, the receptionist informed me that my reservation had been cancelled because of a leak on the floor my room was supposed to be and that they had rebooked me to a Holiday Inn 15 minutes away. My first complaint to them was: how come no one made me aware of the situation before I arrived? To this they claimed they had no way to communicate with me since I made my reservation through Expedia. At the point of my arrival, I was left with the only option to take the room at the Holiday Inn the reserved for us, not only I was kicked out of the hotel, but I also had to give the other hotel my credit card so they could place a hold on it, they did not bother having someone there from Summit to take care of this. At the wedding reception, I came to find out that several guests were accommodated the same day at 2pm (One hour before my check-in). Coincidentally, some rooms were released and given to wedding party guests (note I booked my room on my own and not as a block), so I am left to think the floor leak story is totally false, since there were other rooms they could have given me. Book at your own risk and pray there aren't that many weddings booked for those nights.

Really neat location and would go back soley based on the outdoor activities but the place was a bit unorganized and cleanliness and upkeep were not the best. It was still good though. I would not avoid it, just manage some expectations and then have a great time :)
The animal refuge and butterfly tour are well worth every minute

The property and the restaurant were very disappointing. The hotel is a bit dated, but clean. The rooms were ok, nothing special. What really disappointed me were the property/hotel grounds. I booked the room because of the advertised rainforest tours to see sloths, frogs and other animals. It turns out the tours basically all take place in the morning (before check in time) so we wouldn’t be able to join any of them that day. We were planning a one night trip and were not planning to stay long the next morning. We walked ourselves through the “rain forest”, even though the concierge strongly advised us to only take guided tours. The rainforest area inside the property was actually really small - most of the property was cleared to make a golf course. We walked the whole rainforest in less than an hour. The sloth and frog habitats were gated, with dark mesh covering outside the fences. The doors had padlocks hanging on them but they were not locked so we went in. There were no animals in the habitats - I guess they must relocate them to another place when the guided tours are over. After the walk, we went to the pool. The pool area was nice enough, but the pool was pretty crowded and very cold. After the swim we had a very disappointing dinner at the only restaurant on the property. The food was overpriced, not very good and took a very long time to come out even though they were not terribly busy. The bar was closed.

We had to specifically ask for the code for the TV and them again for the password for the WIFI. Easy to do just unaware the need to ask for it.

When we arrived the floor in our room was very wet and slippery. Asked several times to hae the floor dried but at 11 p. m. we were still dealing with the floor. we recevied aphone call at 11 p.m. about my husband returning a charger? we had no idea about this. Then again in the morning we had the same call. One night we were woken by very loud music at 1 a.m. when we asked we were told they would be done by 2 then by 3:30. This was very upseting as the whole room was vibrating and shaking form the loud music.

I was placed next to a room which had a dog which barked constantly. I was moved to a room above the ballroom where a dj played pounding music until 11:45 despite my complaints that I couldn’t sleep. The safe did not reopen and maintenance had to be called.

Most of the staff was very pleasant, even the grounds workers would point out wildlife. The shuttles were easy to arrange and ran on time. Buffet food is average but menu food is lovely and well done. The resort can be crowded though, with multiple functions going on and nowhere even to sit by the pool/lobby because groups have rented it out

The room had no hand towels or hand soap by the sink I had to use shampoo to wash my hands.
I bought lunch off the menu and the hostess refused to provide a container to take the leftovers with me, though I got a container on an earlier visit to the restaurant
I understand they don't want people taking food from the buffet, but this was the same hostess who brought the menu, took my order, and then took my payment.

As a whole: The hotel is pretty and the price is good. Our room was freezing and wet which made the floors slippery and unsafe. No small table or chairs in room. Soap and toilet paper refilled. At the restaurant the service was terrible. Overall I am not sure I'd stay here again and I would not recommend to others.

we arrived two hours early and they let us store our bags while we went on a tour of the jungle. when we came back three hours later the room was still not ready and there were lines of people waiting for the rooms to be cleaned (it was 4pm now) check in was at 3pm, the woman at the desk didnt know what to do. i noticed that customers next to us were getting rooms so i switched to her line and she managed to get us a room. the people under the service of the first lady had to wait al ong time. service here was very poor. it took three people to find a drink menu. it tool a few more prople to figur out how to use our credit card to pay for drinks. it seemed like the staff were either untrained or had to aske a supervisor to allow them to serve basic items. very strange.

I did not like that the tour was not inclusive as listed,besides breakfast the only free activities was the butterfly exhibition and the golf cart rides. Every tour I had to pay for if you wanted to play golf you had to rent the golf clubs and golf balls. Food selections are limited the only enjoyable part was the drinks. I was charged for makeup on towels upon leaving. Transportation is not includedas well as transportation to and from the airport to the accommodations, and every location ( food, bars, activities) is far from the accommodations. This trip was listed as \"all inclusive\" but only the room, breakfast and golf cart rides are included. Would not recommend cash grab.

The staff provided excellent service. The walking tour guide for the butterfly house, the sloth rescue, and the frog sanctuary was incredibly knowledgeable and had an engaging personality. On the way to the butterfly house, he showed us a sloth sleeping in a tree top. Carlos, the golf cart evening tour guide also was fantastic. This resort always is a fun and relaxing place to stay.

Very peaceful, quiet setting during the week. Mostly empty apart from a 30 person conference. Staff were mixed, none overly happy and welcoming, some outright hostile. Carlos the bellhop was super-friendly, however. Don’t bother asking to use the shuttle service: was denied three times despite being well within 20 km range. Breakfast Buffett was very decent. Julio at the omelette station was superb! Humidity is incredibly high next to this rainforest, so expect your room floor and walls to be soaked should you leave the balcony door open more than 5 minutes. The price point during weekdays was rather low so perhaps there is transition in the near future? Despite the build date stating 2009, from my experience this could easily pass for an 80s decor.

The resort caters to families and golfers, paying mild attention to wildlife enthusiasts, despite its location.

The rooms are large with beautiful bathrooms and scenic views. Access to the restaurants is awkward and unintuitive. However, the food was good.

Nature tours were unimpressive and short. The trails have amazing potential as the fauna is abundant. Signage could be vastly improved to avoid getting lost. Although, getting lost led to spectacular views.

Due to the heavy early fog and high precipitation during the rainy season, walking surfaces can be slippery. I am still recovering 9 days later.

Staff was great. The rooms were good but we had a strange set up inside the room, where the bathroom was on a weird position. They don’t provide wash cloths or towels to wipe your hands after washing. Beds were comfy and the breakfast was very good ! Also, they provide towels on request. A hairdryer and clothes hangers would be a nice add. Beautiful and peaceful property, just the minutes from the city center , has a lot of potential.

An excellent hotel if you want to be away from the busy city and malls. Clean , safe and amazing if you want to connect with nature. If you are coming Panama to shop I would not recommend staying here because it’s not close to the malls and the old city, it is out of the way . 10 mins away from the Panama Canal and hotel offers free shuttle to some places. Breakfast was great and staff was friendly and rooms were great , I would definitely recommend.

Hotel seemed to be more of an event space with rooms. The deluxe room I booked had a beautiful view of the parking lot. The walls were thin and could hear people talking and the wedding party was very loud.

The bedrooms were slippery due to the humidity. We contacted the property ahead of our arrival to mention we were celebrating our honeymoon but never received a follow-up. At check-in, the staff had no record of our messages. I had hoped to bring my family here in the future because of the location and the photos online, but after our stay, I’ll continue looking elsewhere. Summit Hotel & Golf resort Panama

Firstly, to foreign visitors expecting a holiday resort, be aware this Hotel is more of a golf, conference & events resort loved by locals for weddings, baby shower's, etc, and this Hotel does an excellent job every time.

The staff are friendly, English isnt widely spoken & staff little shy to try until they know you. The daily room cleaning staff are excellent & dont skimp on replacing supplies, the buffet breakfasts generous & satisfying. The kids & adult pools are good, but for me a bit too close to the public patios (im a bit self-conscious for swimming). The daily shuttles take you almost everywhere. Albrook Mall is only 35 minutes away. Gamboa is only 15 min away (and very overpriced accom I think).

I think this Hotel resort is a lovely place to use as a base, instead of living in the city itself. I was here for 3 weeks, value for money, golf whenever you wish or not at all. I would happily return next time.

I've stayed here many times over many years, it used to be a beautiful, peaceful place, but now, its all just a party. Constant loud music from the property, even audible from the top floor and it's halways. Everythign is broken, air conditioning, ice machines, jacuzzis, light switches, etc. I was even moved to another suite, where even more things were broken. This place has really gotten terrible recently, deapite being so good betore. It is certainly not worth it anymore, with mych better resorts nearby

This hotel is in a pretty location, but quite far outside of the center of Panama City, and about 40 minutes from the airport. Fairly convenient for visiting the canal or Soberania national park, but not for anything else. Two nice pools, though the water was a bit cloudy. Beds and rooms were comfortable, with nice views over the jungle, and we really enjoyed the walking tour of the butterfly garden and frog farm. Staff was friendly. The less good stuff: food options are extremely limited. You're really stuck on site because the nearest other food is 20-25 minutes away and there are no easy taxi or uber options. Food took forever and it was challenging to even find someone to order from. Pool towels were a total pain in the neck to get. There's supposed to be someone at the pool who can get them for you, but you have to give them your ID in exchange, and we had to hunt them down every time. Also, they emailed us a few hours before were supposed to check in and told us our room had been damaged and we couldn't stay our first night. They rebooked us at the Radisson near the Panama Canal, which was fine, but it was stressful and inconvenient to have to switch hotels (it was only a 2-night stay to begin with, so we ended up with 1 night in each place). They do a lot of events, so I would avoid the place on weekends unless you want to have the pool and food options severely limited by a wedding or similar big event. That happened our second day.

In one room the handle of the shower fell off, in another room I stayed in the bathroom door was completely stuck shut. Staff had to come get it unstuck whenever it accidentally got closed. The staff is awesome. We had a problem with the toilet running non stop and no hot water. These were fixed immediately when we reported it. There are tours, shuttles, trails and parks nearby. We don’t golf but still found plenty of things to do.

Great place to stay outside of the city. If you like nature and golf, I highly recommend. Staff were attentive and kind.

The room and bed were great
The restaurant offered great breakfast buffet and the lunch and dinner menus had plenty of options. We enjoyed the one hour walking tour.

We enjoyed the size of the pool; however, the water was very cloudy, thus questionable.
