The resort was not friendly. They only give 2 small towels, we had to argue to receive more then they brought more and had us give back the other 2 that were in the bathroom!! it was awful. The a/c drips like crazy in the room, causing a puddle of water onto the floor. the bartendar was also rude. Luckily we stood there just a short amount of time

The best of this hotel is the location because is inside a national park, the rest was poor, the hotel is not well maintained, checking in took like an hour with a lot of people waiting. Food was ok but even though they are inside a ecological national park, they use lots of plastic for everything, which is terrible for the environment . I wouldn’t come back.

We got there at 12.00 pm. We were traveling for 10 hrs 2 planes and wanted to take a shower. Was told that the rooms are not ready,but I could get one for $17.00 per hour. We waited 3 hrs for the room. We had no wash clothes for 2 days even after requesting one.

Review of Summit Rainforest & Golf Resort, Panama

Overall, our experience at Summit Rainforest & Golf Resort in Panama was good, and the property itself is absolutely beautiful. The views are breathtaking, the grounds are peaceful, and we felt safe throughout our stay. There was a visible security presence, and we also saw police in and around the property, which added to our sense of comfort. My children enjoyed the pool, and we also enjoyed the butterfly tour, which was a lovely experience.

However, we did experience some challenges at the beginning of our stay. Our first room had issues with the air conditioning, which would not stay on properly and seemed to cause a lot of condensation on the floor. We reported the issue, and although someone was sent to address it, the problem continued the following night. We also had difficulty getting assistance from the room because the telephone was not working, so we had to go downstairs to speak with the front desk directly. At one point, we were told that the issue may have been caused by the balcony door being opened, but we had not opened the balcony door at all.

The hotel did offer to move us to another room, but when we viewed that room, we noticed what appeared to be a mold issue. Additionally, the closet light in that room would not turn off unless the breaker was turned off, which would have made it difficult to sleep in complete darkness. Because of those concerns, we

We booked this stay as a bit of an adventure and it turned out to be a very fun stay. We had planned a few activities but were caught in a great storm which dumped a lot of rain which in itself was something to see if your not from this region. A pleasant surprise I did not notice at first is that it is all inclusive which made it even more affordable.

Property claims to be an all inclusive Hotel. This is to say the least a misrepresentation. The food offered is below the quality of a soup kitchen food. Way below. They know it. In fact in the same establishment and attached to their buffet room is a paid menu restaurant, to which you after looking at the type of food offered for free, you levitate to and pay full price for listed dishes.Which by the way are barely better than the buffet. Talking about free drinks: sodas yes, 4 listed alcoholic drinks with a sniff of alcohol and a ton of sugar mix in it. Perfect for a perpetuation of Diabetes illness. If you are a golfing apasionado you will find a bad maintained, small gold course. Other than that, the place offered nothing else than two poorly cleaned pools.

The check-in process was not ideal. Being road weary we wanted to go to our room, but it wasn't ready so they offered us a tour of the butterfly garden. We accepted, but we were not told it would take over an hour with a subpar tour guide. Finally getting to our room we readied for the pool. Asking for towels they said I needed to hand over my ID or passport (which was in my room), dripping wet they would not accommodate. I wish they told us at check-in that they are weird about the towels. They told me to go to my room for ID and/or the room towels. Returning to my room, I found we had no bath towels either. Not impressed with this element of the stay. Food was decent, staff speaks little English and were not attentive, breakfast was good.

Primeramente envié un mensaje por esta plataforma que jamás respondieron. Luego de la experiencia eel todo incluido fue un poco decepcionante, todo los que fue buffete estuvo bien. Pero en el rango de 10 30 a 12 el personal se hace de rogar para atenderte, se esconden para que no le pidas nada. Y la verdad que si no es open bar de verdad aclárenlo. Quiero destacar el servicio de Natasha en la noche. Ella es una gran excepción. Me parece ver demasiado personal sin hacer nada y conversando por todos lados en vez de atender a los clientes. Recomiendo más supervisión.

This hotel is in an amazing location, close to the national parks and outside of the city. They offer wonderful opportunities to tour the grounds with local guides who are very knowledgable about the flora and fauna. We were able to see and learn about many plants and trees, as well as animals large and small, and many species of birds. This was a very nice complement to our self-guided hike in Soberanía National Park (with transportation to the Plantation trail provided by the Hotel). The hotel also has an on-site rehabilitation center for animals including sloths, but it was not occupied during our stay. We were able to see various species of butterflies and frogs.
They have two nice pools and many chairs, but few loungers. as well as a workout gym (unfortunately without a working A/C when we were there). The bar was good, but no frills.
The rooms were very outdated with very firm pillows that made it hard to sleep comfortably. The service was marginal (had to ask in person for towels and hangers three times over a 7-hour time span before request was partially fulfilled, no room cleaning until requested, bathroom smelled of sewage). Staff were mostly friendly. Breakfast buffet was great, but dinner menu was a little limited for vegetarians, particularly if staying for more than a couple nights. Again, the main draw is the location,

You basically get what you pay for with this property.

The property is located about 10 to 15 minutes from the nearest town. It has not aged well as poor maintenance has resulted in a dated appearance. It must have been pretty spectacular when it was newly constructed (some 25 years ago).

The staff on site were nice enough, however, phone contact was impossible. The desks were unmanned after 9pm so good luck if you need something.

Now the room was spacious with cold AC and hot showers with great water pressure…the bed, however, was rough, to say the least. The bed had sinkholes and when we

The staff are amazing and the cleaning staff do a super human job. They are let down by poor maintenance and lazy reactions to complaints and about maintenance issues. What a pity! The hotel is in need of major refurbishment, however they seem to be getting their revenue as an event location (parties and weddings etc) this makes for loud noise for guests and along with noisy aircon, leaking taps, etc it seems the service from their lowest paid staff carry the hotel forward.. how sad

The staff was wonderful, and so were the jungle hikes and the animals we encountered (no sloths were currently being rehabilitated; they had been released, which is great).
In previous reviews, I saw people complaining about no hair dryer - all you have to do is call the front desk, and they will bring you one!
There's an iron and an ironing board in the room, clean, soft bed and bedding, excellent breakfast and dinner buffet (LOVED all the cold salads, best food I've had on all our trip), nice, quiet pool, hot water, coffee,a fridge and microwave in the room, great location, and is great for the price.
I would recommend bringing your own pool towels or bringing your ID to get one and returning it at the pool.
If you want a huge, fancy resort, go to the other rainforest resort and pay the price. This was an excellent stay for the price.

I'm an Electrician and was surprised at the crappy install of electrical receptacles... gaps between cover plate and wall and crooked. Major eyesore.
Sancocho and chicken fingers were amazing. Some items at breakfast buffet were cold but should have been warm/hot. Scrambled eggs were cold and sitting in water. Omelet station and coffee were amazing. We are in Costa Rica now and I'm really missing their coffee 😢 The sea bass was incredible!
Staff is mostly Spanish. Download spanish on your google translate app. Best English speaking was front desk. Everyone else is unapologetically Spanish.

We had an amazing stay at this property. They were friendly and helpful and we had Carlos take us on a golf cart sunset tour on the property and he spotted everything that we could hope to see. Very knowledgeable. And then we had a different gentleman, and I can’t remember his name, do the butterfly and frog walking tour in the morning, and although he could not speak English, we used AI translation and everything was perfect perfectly fine. It was a fantastic tour and he was very knowledgeable and took his time explaining everything. We also were able to see many of the things we sought out.
The food in the restaurant was amazing. The pools were warm and clean. Everyone was very friendly.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL, YOU MAY SHOW UP TO A CANCELLED RESERVATION. I booked this hotel since a good friend of mine was getting married and the reception was at this hotel, that way I could enjoy myself without the need of having to worry about driving afterwards. When I arrived to the hotel, the receptionist informed me that my reservation had been cancelled because of a leak on the floor my room was supposed to be and that they had rebooked me to a Holiday Inn 15 minutes away. My first complaint to them was: how come no one made me aware of the situation before I arrived? To this they claimed they had no way to communicate with me since I made my reservation through Expedia. At the point of my arrival, I was left with the only option to take the room at the Holiday Inn the reserved for us, not only I was kicked out of the hotel, but I also had to give the other hotel my credit card so they could place a hold on it, they did not bother having someone there from Summit to take care of this. At the wedding reception, I came to find out that several guests were accommodated the same day at 2pm (One hour before my check-in). Coincidentally, some rooms were released and given to wedding party guests (note I booked my room on my own and not as a block), so I am left to think the floor leak story is totally false, since there were other rooms they could have given me. Book at your own risk and pray there aren't that many weddings booked for those nights.

Really neat location and would go back soley based on the outdoor activities but the place was a bit unorganized and cleanliness and upkeep were not the best. It was still good though. I would not avoid it, just manage some expectations and then have a great time :)

The property and the restaurant were very disappointing. The hotel is a bit dated, but clean. The rooms were ok, nothing special. What really disappointed me were the property/hotel grounds. I booked the room because of the advertised rainforest tours to see sloths, frogs and other animals. It turns out the tours basically all take place in the morning (before check in time) so we wouldn’t be able to join any of them that day. We were planning a one night trip and were not planning to stay long the next morning. We walked ourselves through the “rain forest”, even though the concierge strongly advised us to only take guided tours. The rainforest area inside the property was actually really small - most of the property was cleared to make a golf course. We walked the whole rainforest in less than an hour. The sloth and frog habitats were gated, with dark mesh covering outside the fences. The doors had padlocks hanging on them but they were not locked so we went in. There were no animals in the habitats - I guess they must relocate them to another place when the guided tours are over. After the walk, we went to the pool. The pool area was nice enough, but the pool was pretty crowded and very cold. After the swim we had a very disappointing dinner at the only restaurant on the property. The food was overpriced, not very good and took a very long time to come out even though they were not terribly busy. The bar was closed.

When we arrived the floor in our room was very wet and slippery. Asked several times to hae the floor dried but at 11 p. m. we were still dealing with the floor. we recevied aphone call at 11 p.m. about my husband returning a charger? we had no idea about this. Then again in the morning we had the same call. One night we were woken by very loud music at 1 a.m. when we asked we were told they would be done by 2 then by 3:30. This was very upseting as the whole room was vibrating and shaking form the loud music.

I was placed next to a room which had a dog which barked constantly. I was moved to a room above the ballroom where a dj played pounding music until 11:45 despite my complaints that I couldn’t sleep. The safe did not reopen and maintenance had to be called.

Most of the staff was very pleasant, even the grounds workers would point out wildlife. The shuttles were easy to arrange and ran on time. Buffet food is average but menu food is lovely and well done. The resort can be crowded though, with multiple functions going on and nowhere even to sit by the pool/lobby because groups have rented it out

The room had no hand towels or hand soap by the sink I had to use shampoo to wash my hands.
I bought lunch off the menu and the hostess refused to provide a container to take the leftovers with me, though I got a container on an earlier visit to the restaurant
I understand they don't want people taking food from the buffet, but this was the same hostess who brought the menu, took my order, and then took my payment.

As a whole: The hotel is pretty and the price is good. Our room was freezing and wet which made the floors slippery and unsafe. No small table or chairs in room. Soap and toilet paper refilled. At the restaurant the service was terrible. Overall I am not sure I'd stay here again and I would not recommend to others.

we arrived two hours early and they let us store our bags while we went on a tour of the jungle. when we came back three hours later the room was still not ready and there were lines of people waiting for the rooms to be cleaned (it was 4pm now) check in was at 3pm, the woman at the desk didnt know what to do. i noticed that customers next to us were getting rooms so i switched to her line and she managed to get us a room. the people under the service of the first lady had to wait al ong time. service here was very poor. it took three people to find a drink menu. it tool a few more prople to figur out how to use our credit card to pay for drinks. it seemed like the staff were either untrained or had to aske a supervisor to allow them to serve basic items. very strange.

I did not like that the tour was not inclusive as listed,besides breakfast the only free activities was the butterfly exhibition and the golf cart rides. Every tour I had to pay for if you wanted to play golf you had to rent the golf clubs and golf balls. Food selections are limited the only enjoyable part was the drinks. I was charged for makeup on towels upon leaving. Transportation is not includedas well as transportation to and from the airport to the accommodations, and every location ( food, bars, activities) is far from the accommodations. This trip was listed as \"all inclusive\" but only the room, breakfast and golf cart rides are included. Would not recommend cash grab.

The staff provided excellent service. The walking tour guide for the butterfly house, the sloth rescue, and the frog sanctuary was incredibly knowledgeable and had an engaging personality. On the way to the butterfly house, he showed us a sloth sleeping in a tree top. Carlos, the golf cart evening tour guide also was fantastic. This resort always is a fun and relaxing place to stay.

Very peaceful, quiet setting during the week. Mostly empty apart from a 30 person conference. Staff were mixed, none overly happy and welcoming, some outright hostile. Carlos the bellhop was super-friendly, however. Don’t bother asking to use the shuttle service: was denied three times despite being well within 20 km range. Breakfast Buffett was very decent. Julio at the omelette station was superb! Humidity is incredibly high next to this rainforest, so expect your room floor and walls to be soaked should you leave the balcony door open more than 5 minutes. The price point during weekdays was rather low so perhaps there is transition in the near future? Despite the build date stating 2009, from my experience this could easily pass for an 80s decor.

The resort caters to families and golfers, paying mild attention to wildlife enthusiasts, despite its location.

The rooms are large with beautiful bathrooms and scenic views. Access to the restaurants is awkward and unintuitive. However, the food was good.

Nature tours were unimpressive and short. The trails have amazing potential as the fauna is abundant. Signage could be vastly improved to avoid getting lost. Although, getting lost led to spectacular views.

Due to the heavy early fog and high precipitation during the rainy season, walking surfaces can be slippery. I am still recovering 9 days later.

Staff was great. The rooms were good but we had a strange set up inside the room, where the bathroom was on a weird position. They don’t provide wash cloths or towels to wipe your hands after washing. Beds were comfy and the breakfast was very good ! Also, they provide towels on request. A hairdryer and clothes hangers would be a nice add. Beautiful and peaceful property, just the minutes from the city center , has a lot of potential.

An excellent hotel if you want to be away from the busy city and malls. Clean , safe and amazing if you want to connect with nature. If you are coming Panama to shop I would not recommend staying here because it’s not close to the malls and the old city, it is out of the way . 10 mins away from the Panama Canal and hotel offers free shuttle to some places. Breakfast was great and staff was friendly and rooms were great , I would definitely recommend.

Hotel seemed to be more of an event space with rooms. The deluxe room I booked had a beautiful view of the parking lot. The walls were thin and could hear people talking and the wedding party was very loud.

Food was very limited in the restaurant and just ok. Restaurant staff were excellent, front desk staff was not.
