Good budget hotel in Passau

This is a budget hotel with reasonable sized room & ensuite shower, small wardrobe lift between floors , good breakfast , room serviced very well, good sized bed but only one pillow each. .
no air conditioning ( but window opens), no tea & coffee supplies in the room or able to be accessed after breakfast,drinks & icecreams available from reception, no restaurant but a good Pizza place across the road. Its about 30 min to walk into the shopping centre , taxis are good though , no laundry facilities but there are 3 launderettes in the city area, receptionists all very helpful , nice out door eating area, good onsite parking, overall for a budget hotel its quite good and they do give a late checkout which we appreciated.

Worst Hotel Experience Ever

Worst hotel experience ever. Started off with the guy at the front desk having a meltdown saying he doesn’t have a room for us before tentatively going inside one of the rooms to check if they’re empty or not. After finally checking in just before handing over the keys the guy tells us there’s no hot water and there may or may not be hot water the following day.
The bathroom was filthy and the windows were dusty.
The underground parking garage was the worst car park I have come across. Cars had to go up on ramps and the spaces were so tight you had to get out of the car sideways.
Will never recommend this hotel to anyone ever.

No frills budget hotel reasonably close to centre

No frills hotel a mile away from lively downtown Passau with bus stops quite nearby.
Room had no fridge and had an awkward layout (that is hazardous for anyone over 5’ tall).
Parking spaces were available but local roadworks meant access from main road impossible - feel hotel should have informed us beforehand about how to access it from the rear (as it was not obvious).
However, price was good compared to better located hotels.

A wonderful place but a bit too far from the old town for us

Helpful staff, fantastic breakfast and a bus ride away from the city center. The sauna and whirlpool were a BIG bonus!
Catch the 1 or 2 bus across the street. from the hotel to get downtown. Also, if you are on foot from the train station, walk up Leopoldstrasse to Neuburgerstrasse and catch a 1 or 2 bus, getting off at the fourth stop. I wish we’d known this, we walked the whole way and it wasn’t easy with backpacks...

Good value for the price

The hotel room was good size, as was bathroom. Non smoking room smelled of stale smoke and bed was rather hard with lumpy old pillows. Room was adequate for the one night we stayed en route from Hungary to Frankfurt, Germany. For the price, the room was adequate and included underground parking. It did not include breakfast, priced at an additional 9 euro per person; we skipped it and went to McDonald's a mile away....

I was fearful that this hotel was too out of the way for people who travel by train. One needs to take a taxi each way. But having said that the hotel staff gave us a route to walk to the old town and indicated which street had an active restaurant scene. This hotel is not your normal Ibis. It is very up-scale. The food and service is good. While eating breakfast we watched a river cruise boat glide by the window! I recommend it.

I was in Passau for a conference and stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. It was easy to reach the hotel from Passau Hbf (Passau Railway Station). The room I stayed in was clean and was maintained everyday. The reception staff was quite helpful (in both the shifts). The hotel is just next to a main road, so was a little noisy, but didn't trouble much. Overall a nice experience.

Good but ...

The hotel is well kept, clean and the staff is very helpful.
My main issues were the unreliability of WIFI (at particular times of the day when it was overloaded), the fact that it is close to a hospital and you hear regular sirens, and the room had a faint smell of cigarettes.

On another note, the hotel wasn't aware of my booking but not sure this was a problem from Hotels.com or the hotel itself.

Wir hatten ein Familienzimmer und waren für eine Nacht dort.
Leider stand es sehr streng im ganzen Hotel. Dreck auf dem Teppich sowie Flecken überall. Sehr veraltet und ungepflegt. Die Armaturen könnten schon vor 10 Jahren gewechselt werden. Betten waren ok zum übernachten. Jedoch für den Preis von knapp 180€ Familienzimmer könnte man mehr erwarten. Wir waren mehr als enttäuscht. Weiterempfehlen kann ich es leider nicht.

Es ist eben nur ein mittelmäßiges Hotel. Kaum Parkmöglichkeiten direkt am Hotel dafür eine kostenpflichtige Tiefgarage (8 € am Tag). Die Zimmer waren nicht schmutzig aber auch nicht richtig sauber. Wir hatten eine Nacht im Sommer und beide Zimmer waren sehr warm. Das Hotel liegt an einer Hauptstraße die auch nachts befahren wird. Das Personal war zwar im allgemeinen freundlich aber nicht zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war gut. Es gab sogar frisch geschnittenes Obst und keine Aufbackbrötchen. Leider sind die Möglichkeiten abends direkt am Hotel etwas \"gutes\" zu essen nur begrenzt. Eine Pizzeria und mehrere Abholimbisse. Wer ein einfaches, relativ günstiges Hotel in Innenstadtnähe sucht, wird zufrieden sein.

Zimmer zur stark befahrenen Ausfallstraße raus, daher leider kein Schlafen bei offenem Fenster möglich, was im Sommer einfach zu heiß ist.

Een oud hotel wat op zich niet erg is, maar het is duidelijk te zien dat het niet goed onderhouden wordt.

Er zat een kakkerlak in onze kamer. Na dit gemeld te hebben kregen we wel een betere kamer, maar onderweg naar de nieuwe kamer zag je in de gang veel oorwurmen over de muur lopen. In de nieuwe kamer gelukkig geen ongedierte gezien. Voor ons de eerste- en laatste keer dat we in dit hotel verblijven.

Das Hotel und vor allem die Zimmer sind aus unserer Sicht stark in die Jahre gekommen. Begrüßt hat uns ein riesiges Spinnennetz über der Rezeption. Der Flur zum Zimmer war gar nich dekoriert, stark verlebt und somit sehr gruselig. Vor allem der Teppich in unserem Zimmer war dreckig, voller Haare und die Zimmereinrichtung war in unserem Verständnis mehr als Austausch bedürftig. Im Wasserkocher war noch Wasser und eine Flasche kostenloses Wasser war leer. Das Frühstück war OK. Alles
In allem, werden wir nicht wieder kommen…
