We really enjoyed our stay at Il Leone Blu. The location was excellent, the room was comfortable, and the service was warm and welcoming. A couple of small things could be improved: the shower cabin could be a bit bigger, and the breakfast could offer more variety. Overall, it was a very good experience and we would recommend it.

This property is lovely and the location can’t be beat for exploring Catania. It is just a few steps from Ursino castle and a couple of blocks from the amazing fish market. The room is spacious and beautiful. But what made it truly exceptional was the amazing care and hospitality of our host, Manuela. My daughter arrived before me and she looked out for her and really helped with check in and communication throughout. Highly highly recommended!

Host was so friendly and gave us many recommendations on what to do for our stay in Catania. We arrived before check in and asked to store our luggage until check in. To our surprise she got the room ready and we were able to check in early. They had breakfast every morning and coffee and water available in the lobby 24/7 which was great. The rooms were spacious and airy and very clean. I would stay here again.

Once at the property, I could walk everywhere. I only needed taxis to/from the airport. great location! Staff was very friendly, they let me check in early. Breakfast was tasty and the place is quiet. Bathroom was nice. All in all, great experience.

Perfect accommodation, everything clean, fragrant and comfortable. The lady was very nice and helpful, she allowed us to stay earlier, which we very much appreciated with the children. During the day, you can make coffee or tea and have a small breakfast when you leave early. Amazing for us. thank you! Great restaurant st. Antonio nearby.

Beautiful stay in Catania!

Il Leone Blue is an amazing place to stay for a visit in Catania. The rooms are really clean and newly renovated. AC works great (and in summer is a must!). Manuela has been nice and very communicative, she got us great indications where to have dinner and explore. Catania downtown is an amazing city, beautiful and lively. Of course you have to consider that you are in an historical downtown, walking distance from everything so the parking is always sketchy and the buildings have narrow stairs you have to use to got in and out but that is also part of the experience! Definitely recommend to spend time here at \"Il Leone Blue\"!

Manuela was very friendly and helpful, and the check in was straight forward.

Room 4 however, is tiny, cramped, airless and gloomy. It had no space and a small window. Definitely not like the room photos which prompted us to book.

Il Leone Blue is a beautiful, charming place, specious and very comfortable bed. We absolutely loved the decor, the stylish furniture, the art, the books on history of the place, even the appliances were very cool but the most amazing are tge ceilings. When you wake up and open your eyes, you truly feel like royalty, absolutely loved it!!! Also the place is located in a heart of Catania, we walked everywhere, lots of options for dining as well. The host, Manuela, is an excellent communicator, she even sent us a video how to open the door, which was very helpful, we were able to leave our luggage after check out and she even called us a taxi to take us to the airport. It was very good experience and I would highly recommend Il Leone Blue for a stay in Catania.

Poor service leads to disappointing stay

Disappointing in many respects. Check- in done by apps and phone- never met manager. Felt very impersonal. Breakfast was day before leftovers-poor selection, small amount and pastries stale. Website says airport shuttle costs€18 but hotel arranged taxi cost € 30 and my friend €40! Biggest issue was Hotels.com says pay at property but with no communication or forewarning, manager put hotel cost through on credit card used to reserve room. When I tried to have hotel charged to a different credit card, manager complained it would cost her and was too much trouble. Very poor service but room was large, clean and with windows shut, most of the noise from the bar below wasn’t heard.

Gorgeous rooms in older building. Spacious, well appointed, beds and bath very comfortable. Fabulous high painted and decorated ceilings. Good breakfast and helpful staff. The entry way is older and plain but delight ensues as soon as you open the door to the second floor. Very helpful getting a cab for early morning flight.

Charming hidden gem in Catania

We loved our very comfortable and clean accommodations. The painted ceiling and the three balconies added such charm. Room is spacious and the bedding very comfortable. The arrival from the street was a bit rough with some construction in the entry area and lots of stairs...first impression was a little rough, but once you get up the stairs you enter the most lovely common area and unit. Location was excellent...one of our best meal in Sicily was the meal right down the road at Ristorante da Antonio! Service was attentive and helpful with our arrival and departure information. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful B&B. It is a great location with lots of restaurants and sights within walking distance. Manuel arranged our requested transfers. The only draw back is there is no elevator. There are stairs going up about four flights. Our driver carried our luggage up. It was a lovely place to stay! We would stay there again if we went back to Catania!

We had a wonderful stay in an amazing room. Book room number 1! Large and very nicely appointed with three Juliette balconies a sitting area and amazingly comfy bed. Breakfast was very good and the hotel is located within walking distance to all the historical sites and very good restaurants. (Photo is of the ceiling in our room)

The owner/manager went above and beyond as I was delayed and arrived late.

I thought breakfast finished at 8:30. A lady came in then and said no, breakfast 8:30. I stayed had a pice of toast and yogurt. The lady was in a tizzy kept saying out by 10:30… I understood that well. Kept saying si… Had wished to take a walk before leaving. She kept repeating must clean. I was all packed up … the repetition and angst became too much so I got my bags she took one brought it to street full of grazie with a push. My dog used to watch me closely eat so I was used to it…cappuccino was milk froth. grateful for beginning, though complicated… ending not so good… felt pushed out early. It was a clean quiet room… it was a travel adventure and my first night in Sicily.

The property is in the heart of the historic part of the city , within easy walking distance of all major attractions and amenities . It's location gives guests a real flavor of life in authentic Siciliano city. It is excellently well maintained, with a very warm and welcoming host who is a mine of information both local and further afield. Ignore other reviewers complaints of the surrounding noise, it's a lived in city. Enjoy the experience.

Adorable B&B in the heart of Catania. Very convenient location to visit the city, safe and walkable.
Host was amazing, she gave us great tips where to eat and what to visit, follow any advise she give you and you won’t be disappointed!!! Available free street parking around.
Only little con: no elevator.

We stayed two nights. We were a little skeptical of the area when we first arrive but we were not used to the city. The host, Daniella, was fantastic. She saw us and came right down. She carried the larger suitcase up the stairs. The b&b is two flights up but we did not have to go in and out too many times. The whole b&b has been updated except for the beautiful original ceiling and other architecture features. Our room had musical instruments and flowers on the ceiling. Beautiful!
We were very close to the castle which is a museum and the Duomo. There are also other things to look at which we did not have time for. She gave us a fantastic local restaurant to eat at. Trattoria Giglio Rossa on Via S Anna. The food was fantastic. The first night we had the swordfish with almonds. The second night tuna with sweet and sour onions. For pasta penne with olive oil, garlic and cherry tomatoes. Best bread we had in the three weeks we spent in Italy

Location was great and such beautiful hotel! Very clean and nicely decorated. The owner was also super nice and overall we very much enjoyed our stay. The only area for improvement was the variety of food for breakfast- most of the food was just pastries and cake, not enough (or any) cheese and meat.

Excellent location. You to walk to all the historical places . The property is amazing and some rooms have original frescoes in the late Baroque style. Emmanuela is friendly and gives great advice about places to visit and local genuine trattorias. We felt relaxed and safe with her.

Perfect stay in Catania

Manuela's property is both beautiful and ideally located. The building interior, recently restored, is stunning. The location is near to the main squares, and easily within walking distance of several major sights and nice restaurants.

As a host, Manuela gave us a great greeting and offered her time and effort for helping us with some logistics. She went above and beyond, without question.

Awesome stay. Fantastic service. I would recommend staying here.

This place is so beautiful. All freshly renovated with spacious airy rooms. Central to everything... walk to the castle, the cathedral, the market and the shopping district. But the real gem is Manuela your host. Gracious and lovely. So friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. I will go back without a doubt.

Rooms are magnificently restored and bathroom was clean and modern. Ceiling in bedroom we stayed in is a work of art in itself. Some stairs to climb in dingy hallway, but host helps with bags. Location is central to most every site. Area could use a tune-up, but was safe and not out of line with what we saw in the rest of Catania. Restaurants in area recommended by host were excellent and very reasonable. Host, Manuela, was very informative, efficient and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would return.

Manuela was so helpful. It was a lovely stay. the ceiling in this room (no.1) is absolutely amazing. Close to everything. It is difficult to find first time though. Taxi driver was going round in circles. look for door no. 38 and to be sure - look up. There is a sign but it is on the second floor.

Some challenges dealing with a group. Rooms were mixed up but staff worked hard to accommodate. Signage outside could be more visible. The rooms are actually 3 floors up a windy staircase with nothing on the ground floor to indicate the name of the B and B.

Owners Manuella and Dario were excellent, they run a very efficient, welcoming and stylish home. Very recently renovated, so everything in excellent condition, everything wonderfully clean. Two of the three rooms look out on a quiet side street, so centrally located but not noisy. Good air con, FABULOUS bathroom, satisfactory breakfast. They booked us lunch and dinner in excellent restaurants, and were extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. would happily recommend a stay there. Very good value.

Catania is a very strange city. No real hotels. After having been at Taormina, this was such a let down. It was in a part of questionable area, you have to go up six flights of stairs, no real help, supposed to have breakfast, nothing prepared. It truly was a joke, however, Catania is not really a pretty city, and perhaps, a little scary, the restaurants were great. Just don't get a hotel

Our first time to Catania and our stay couldn't have been any better. Our room was clean, spacious with a great air conditioner and very nice bathroom. Can't ask for a better host, within a few minutes of us settling in, she provided a local map with places to see and great places to eat or get a snack. The location was just a 5 minute walk from the town square and just down the street from a castle.

Il Leone Blu is very well located, adjacent to the piazza where you find the historical Castello Ursino. Lots of friendly bars and restaurants close by. Parking was very easy.

Our stay was close to perfect thanks to the welcoming smile and always present good will of Manuela. She welcomed us even if we landed late. She gave us precious tips on how to make the most of Catania. The flat is just beautiful, renovated with great taste and the beds super comfortable. Bathrooms were in impeccable condition. The breakfast was varied and homy, Manuela made sure we enjoyed it. The area surrounding the b&b is great for food and centrally located to discover the real life of Catania by day and night. We stayed there as a family with a toddler and enjoyed every bit!

fantastic b&b. hosts are very welcoming and informative. I contacted them ahead of our stay to advise about a lactose intolerance for breakfast. Manuela supplied dairy free croissants, biscuits, yoghurts and milk. the room was beautifully decorated and the bathroom was modern and comfortable with good lighting and mirrors. conveniently located for the airport bus and also the centro storico sights and shops and restaurants

Não se deixe influenciar pelo exterior do prédio antigo e entrada do estabelecimento que precisa de manutenção, os quartos e ambientes internos estão em ótimo estado e renovados. Ich durfte eine Nacht vor dem Flug in Catania bleiben. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt und hätte gerne noch länger Catanias zentrum erforscht. Die Kommunikation war problemlos und sehr informativ. Ich hatte ein schönes Zimmer, nur leider eines mit einer normalen Decke und nicht der wunderschönen aus den Fotos. Trotzdem sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet :)
