This Bed and breakfast was a really unique experience, and if I could give it an 11/10 I would. Simon really thought of everything when it comes to giving a guest what they might require. A charming house with all the little extras.

The highlight of this stay was the show stopping breakfast you’d be hard pressed to find anywhere in town. We will recommend this delight to anyone travelling to Magog, and will return ourselves in the future!

We feel very lucky to have stayed at La Maison de Ville and getting to meet Simon. Besides providing us with a delicious and artistic breakfast every morning he had some great suggestions of what to do in and around Magog. The property was very well maintained and beautifully decorated. The location in Magog was perfect, just a block away from the main street close to restaurants and shops.

A Delight for the Senses
We had such a delightful time at La Maison. Simon the host was incredibly gracious, friendly and helpful. The inn is just charming--and comfortable. The breakfast was out of this world and starting with an amazing fruit bowl that included grilled pineapple and creme fraishe. He then made a poached egg wrapped in prosciutto, cheese and a croissant. The coffee was strong and smooth. We will be back!

My wife and I had the absolute pleasure of a one-night stay at La Maison de Ville (August 2, 2025).
The accommodation in a century home was outstanding. Our room was one of four on the second floor. It was very clean, quiet and comfortable, with an ensuite bathroom. There was a shared lounge area with television, Nespresso machine, toaster oven, fridge and balcony. Breakfast was fantastic. We started with a baked pear topped with apples, greens, sunflower and poppy seeds, and cream over caramel. That was followed by grilled eggplant, zucchini, another type of squash, poached egg, sunflower seeds and greens over toast. Coffee and the orange/pineapple juice were great. Presentation of the breakfast was first class. I appreciate the fact that Simon sources locally grown produce and goods.

Simon, the owner, was an outstanding host. Upon checking in, he asked if we had any dietary allergies. He offered suggestions about what we could see and do during our stay. During breakfast he explained the dishes that were served, and also took time to detail the extensive renovations and history of his 20 year ownership of this fabulous bed and breakfast. It was obvious that Simon is a trained chef.

We were looking for a place to stay one night in Magog, I hadn’t realized breakfast was included and it was stunning! I wish I took pictures, it tasted as good as it looked. I would definitely book again. Our host was welcoming and accommodating, letting us check in earlier and making sure we had a space in the parking lot to charge the car.

This is wonderful small b&b. The owner Simon is delightful. The b&b is located one block from shops and restaurants, and only a few blocks from the lake. Parking was offered onsite. Rooms were creatively designed to fit toilet closet and shower. Breakfast was amazing. Overall, it was great stay.

This was a perfect stay for us while in Magog. This B&B is in a perfect location and convenient to downtown shopping. The owner, Simon Beaupre', was a perfect host and is a wonderful chef. His breakfast creations were simply amazing! Not only were his creations beautiful, the food was delicious. We were able to stay in two of the five rooms. Night #1 we stayed in room #5, which is the only room on the ground floor. It is a smaller room with a small corner shower, which is great if you are only staying a day or two. This room is the most convenient to the dining area and the front porch.
Rooms #1 - #4 are on the second floor, as is the parlor, which is accessible for all patrons. If you have difficulty negotiating stairs, and room #5 is unavailable, you will not want to book your stay at this B&B.
We truly enjoyed our stay and will look to staying here on future travels to Magog. We highly recommend this B&B for those looking for a quaint stay at 100+ year old home in downtown Magog. You will enjoy Simon's amazing breakfast. Simon can also serve dinners for those who pre-arrange this service with 4 or more.

La Maison de Ville is an absolutely unique experience we were so happy to stumble upon for one night. Simon the owner is truly an artist whose canvas is hosting you. He’s perfectly available without hovering. Thoughtful touches are around every corner; if you’d like to hang something he’s installed a hook, or if you’d like to put something down there’s a table. Decor is quite maximalist but even if it’s not your style it’s so VERY well done and spotlessly clean just sit back and explore the magic he’s created. As others have mentioned the breakfast is **perfect** I’d try to book a dinner with a party of 4 if I were there for more than one night. Merci beaucoup!

Ce gîte de 5 chambres est absolument charmant! Le petit-déjeuner gastronomique et original vaut le détour, préparé et servi avec soin par le sympathique propriétaire Simon qui a été super chaleureux et attentionné avec nous, Ce B&B est situé en plein coeur de Magog, à seulement quelques minutes à pied des restaurants de la rue principale et de la salle de spectacle Le Vieux Clocher. Nous avons séjourné deux nuits dans la chambre « La première » qui est très tranquille car située à l’arrière de la maison, à l’étage, un peu à l’écart des autres chambres. Elle n’est pas très grande mais très bien équipée et super confortable. Une magnifique découverte, nous y retournerons!

His delightful and creative breakfast was outstanding both in terms of his creativeness, quality of ingredients and its wholesomeness. This was more of a pleasant, welcome experience departing from the usual bed and mundane breakfast offerings usually encountered at traditional B&B inns. Its location well within walking (strolling might be a better word} of several great restaurants and bars in downtown Magog i a bonus.

One Night at La Maison de Ville
We were there for 1 night on our way to Quebec City. Simon was a great host and we were the only people there that night. Being Easter Week it was quiet in Magog. We were in Le Cinquieme room which was the only one on the first floor. The other 4 rooms are up a creaky, somewhat steep staircase so we appreciated being downstairs. The interior of Le Maison de Ville is loaded with collections of crystal,
a wall of mirrors upstairs and a beautiful setting for breakfast. Simon is a birder and has an enormous birdcage filled with birds (26 at the time we were there).
I found the location to be within walking distance to the Main St and close to the huge lake that it borders on. It was late March so not too much was open but we will try to return for a few more nights during the summer or autumn. Very good stop for us on our way to Quebec City.

The owner has exquisite taste in decor and he is an amazing chef. I was not expecting two-course gourmet breakfasts, but they were delicious and beautifully plated. He is affable but not overbearing. The shower was hot and strong and the bed was super cozy. I would definitely recommend this and would love to come again!

Simon is an excellent host and a professional chef. Our 3 breakfasts were all exceptional both in flavour and in presentation! The house is an older home in need of some paint and repair, which is currently being done. It is well situated within walking distance to the lake and many restaurants. We had a comfortable and enjoyable stay at this B&B and would recommend it to friends.

My room was spotlessly clean. The bed was super comfortable. The room had it's own bath and toilet. The shower and bath were very nice. The room had heat and air conditioning.

The place was very nice and clean. Centrally located, can walk around to all the hot spots. The host was fantastic, great food and hospitality. This property is deceiving from the outside. It’s a cute building on the outside but the paint was peeling and the back driveway area a bit cluttered. Inside is beautifully and tastefully decorated - it’s very charming. Simon is a wonderful host and a superb chef. I can’t recommend the dinner and breakfast highly enough. He is such a talented chef. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his bed and bistro. It was an experience and both my husband and I are so pleased we went.

We not only ate amazing and inventive breakfasts the two mornings we spent at La Maison de Ville, but we also took advantage of the option to have dinner there. We joined two other couples for a 5 course meal that was absolutely incredible. La Maison de Ville is a block up from Rue La Principal, the main shopping and eating area of Magog. Our cozy room was furnished nicely with lovely amenities. We would definitely stay again.

This is a gem. Don’t book an overpriced hotel- you will not get the same cozily and tastefully designed spaces. You won’t have the same proximity to the Main Street, groceries and pharmacy, and if you do book that overpriced resort- you won’t have the same warm hospitality and BEST breakfast you have ever had in your entire life!
