We had an amazing stay. We were initially booked into a room on the first floor that was just above a busy intersection. When we opened the window, we were assaulted with exhaust and the sounds of traffic. We paid for a sea view, but could only see the sea while standing against the wall at an angle from the window. We asked to be moved higher into the hotel and were accommodated immediately, which also allowed us the sea view we expected. The room was lovely, clean, and most of the staff was fabulous. The hotel is located in a great area, within walking distance of cafes, museums, shopping, and the board walk. The private beach is amazing, but like all beaches in Nice, the beach is rocky, not sandy. We still loved it, but I recommend buying or bringing water shoes. We did not use the restaurants, except on the beach. We tried to eat at the more casual restaurant, but found the hostess and atmosphere were a little too formal for our taste. That was the only place we didn’t feel welcome.
The bed was comfortable, and the TV offered a good selection of programming in a variety of languages. The bed was comfortable, and looked as though Philip the Fair could have slept in it. The air conditioning worked well.

The staff are amazing. They are friendly and helpful. The rooms are well appointed and a nice size compared to other properties in France. The decor and the art in the hotel are spectacular. It’s like visiting a private gallery. It was the best hotel experience on our three week holiday in France. We highly recommend it and would stay there again!

This is it, this is the standard for hotel service. I have been to hotels around Europe and the world. This was by far the highest level of service I have ever seen in a hotel. This hotel will set the standard. Rooms were perfect, front desk and valet great, maid staff came in twice a day. To understand the level of service they wrap your charger cables in the evening turn around. While we were there in off season it did not feel like it given the level of service we experienced every single moment in the hotel. There is no way I would stay anywhere else in Nice. And the location is fantastic.

Please please be careful using the elevator it has two doors and not one and the glass door is very clean and if you are mildly distracted you can get really hurt. My kids found it found but I walked straight into the glass door and broke my nose. It hurt a lot. Thankfully it’s not disclosed. In the U.S. they would certainly put stickers on glass this clear. I am fine but someone could get really hurt. An older person or a child!

I don’t know where to start. First the hotel and it amenities were more then I expected. It was my honeymoon and they went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. The house keeping team works around the clock to keep that place tip top. The spa is amazing it has multiple saunas all types of shower with different styles and settings it was incredible. They even have an ice maker making snow like ice to cool you down. The jacuzzi pool and tub is top notch. All the staff works so hard to make you stay the best. The art work though out the hotel is like a museum with elegant style. My favorite the best place I’ve stayed in. 5 stars

I’ve stayed at some incredible five-star hotels in the past, but nothing compares to Hotel El Negresco. The experience was, by far, the most amazing I've ever had. I can't stop raving about the staff! Juliette and Philippe, the concierges, truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was impeccable; they are the stars of the show. Our stay was lovely. There was some construction happening which didn't allow us to utilize the external patios which was disappointing. There was also a lot of red carpet laid down to protect the carpets underneath and only one small elevator available. Our stay was still pretty nice which I guess speaks to the quality of of hotel and staff.
