Really lovely room, good breakfast and great staff. Some drawbacks: it's a bit remote towards the end of the road of hotels, there's not enough shade on the beach (umbrellas too small) and the music at the bar was so loud in the evenings I avoided it completely.

The worst hotel ever. Do not waste your time or money. It’s false advertisement and this hotel should be removed from Expedia. The staff is friendly and will try to help but the hotel especially the plantation villas are horrible. I wish I could upload the pictures. We were assigned a plantation in what appeared to be an abandoned part of the resort and it was littered with trash smelling horrible. This is not a 4 star hotel not even a 3 star. We are seasoned travelers and we left the hotel knowing we would not get a refund.

The Hotel has potential to be amazing, as the staff were all wonderful. Singging Lisa and another waitress called Fa were very plesent and also the cleaners in our block, all of the staff were so friendly. I hate to give a negative but the hotel needs lots of maintenance all over, most of the furniture seemed very worn, and broken even. I think with some maintenance and a bit of TLC, this could be a fabulous hotel. Thank you to all the staff for being so warm and welcoming

The room itself was nice, but overall the hotel is in need of a refresh.

The restaurant toilets were in very poor condition and absolutely stank, the pools were dirty, with insects and leaves floating in them. My hotel room was a long walk from the beach and involves hills and steps, so it’s not suitable for anyone with leg, mobility, or back issues.

Service was disappointing throughout. Staff appeared very young and unhelpful, and interactions often felt dismissive. On one evening, I went to the hotel bar after dinner, only to find it closed at 10pm despite signage stating it should be open until midnight. I asked the receptionist where I could go nearby for a drink. She gave a vague answer and turned away. When I asked her to help point it out on a map, she took my phone, marked something, and handed it back without acknowledging me or making eye contact. This is not the level of Thai hospitality I have experienced elsewhere on my trip.

Food was another major issue. Despite informing the hotel at check-in that I am vegan, there were no suitable hot breakfast options available, so I had to go elsewhere and pay again for a proper breakfast, which was inconvenient and disappointing. When a “vegan breakfast” was prepared the next day it consisted only of plain stir-fried vegetables, which is not an acceptable breakfast. If you have any dietary requirements, I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.

Overall, not a good experience, and I would not stay here again.

My wife and I stayed in one of the hotel rooms and enjoyed it. Had a view of the forest and were able to watch monkeys in the trees. A/C worked well but we never had very hot water for the shower. Staff was great and the pool / beach access area was very nice. Bar and restaurant on site as well as massages. You can rent scooters and book tours directly from the hotel. Bit of a walk to other restaurants and bars but not too bad.

The hotel is well situated with great access to a nice beach. However, it needs a lot of TLC. The room was large with separate bath, shower and toilet and a great view with balcony; however, it is showing its age. The staff was very nice and you are close to a few restaurants and bars.

Staff are very friendly but no staff seem allocated to cleaning pool and sun lounger area. This main part of the property was not cleaned at all during our 3 day stay. The walk up to the hotel rooms is a very steep hill and a weird concrete tunnel
The towels are fraying and threadbare and the rooms lack some basic amenities
They are renovating close to the pool and lounger area so there is fairly constamt construction noise when outside.

Unfortunately our stay was meant to be our longest stay of 5 nights but this was dampened by the awful smell of damp in our room.
The smell was so strong we had to have air filter put in our room to try and help with the damp
We also had a huge amount of mosquitoes in the room and had to purchase numerous room sprays for hiding the smell and mosquitoes
I wouldn’t be able to recommend this hotel

Good Hotel, could be great with some slight improv

We had 4 types of rooms. All was good and had everything we needed. The TV didnt work in our room though was not there to watch tele. The staff was very helpful especially the General Manager.
We stayed over the Christmas period so the hotel was fully booked. There seemed to be alot of broken sunbeds and umbrellas that was much needed !!
The breakfast was good and enough choice. The dinner menu lacked choice and the bar service was slow.
Overall as a group of 9 and a young child we had a great stay and i would definitely recommend and return for what we paid.

Was an enjoyable stay. Property is divided into a beachfront area with pools and restaurants and the actual lodging area on the other side of the road. There’s a pedestrian tunnel that goes under the road. Our lodgings were a decent walk from the beachfront. Would have been a little difficult for anyone with mobility issues. They provide a shuttle service but that can be unreliable at certain times of the day though. Overall would still recommend though. Family enjoyed the beach a lot.

Bunty and his team get a solid 5 stars or more if I could give more stars. They went above and beyond to make our stay an amazing one. Bunty is always receptive to feedback and is always there to help us with tips on things to do and places to visit.. So service is 10/10. The location is also amazing 10/10. Right on the beach with lots of food and drink options. The Thai food at chedi and the cocktails at ten face are also amazing. So they have really good chef(s) and bartenders. As for the hotel and rooms, it looks like renovations are in progress and there is still work to be done on that front. Our original accommodation was still undergoing renovations so we were given the accommodation above it which was almost fully renovated, but it still needs some work to be done and needs attention to detail so for now 4/5 stars. To compensate for it they offered us a free dinner on the beach which was amazing and we really appreciated it. They are slowly opening more and more sections of the hotel so once all the renovations are complete, the rooms might get the full 5 stars. I believe the 2 year shut down during Covid caused a lot of wear and tear that the team is currently working on addressing. Hopefully the rooms get to join the 5 star club soon.

Visited during low season, but very happy with the facilities and the warm welcome from the staff. The beachside location was incredibly convenient and the pool towels in their own reusable bag were a welcome touch. Lots of nearby bars and restaurants to enjoy and the room was big and well equipped; a great spot for a relaxing vacation.

Hotel is nice, especially glass villas. I dont recommend to book rooms called myth, we had to change it, as it was very far from the beach, on the hill and in sun it is impossible to pass this way even once, even tough they provide cars for transportation it is not convinient to wait all the time that driver comes, time waste. Other rooms like Star path are also on a hill but closer, so best location had glass villas and veranda villas. Hotel is really nice and clean. But what about staff, here we had problems during check in, first of all manager only cares about money and not about clients feedback or comfort, he tried to lie to us several times and wasn’t ashamed at all! he just doesn't care about hotel reputation etc. there was not any sense to complain about anything even to GM. Problem was that they were trying to charge us more for the room change in spite of the fact that we paid more for the room we booked and the room on which we were changing on cost cheaper! I explained many times to them that it is not fair but they didnt care, hi lied to us that it was surcharge because of early check in,when I argued that we didnt even check in in any room as we were trying to change room during 2hr, he changed and said it was because we were using there amenities, when I asked which amenities exactly he again changed and said it was again because the room was costing more,when I showed how much we paid and how much new room cost in real he tried to call GM who didnt care also

I loved the resort grounds and everyone was very friendly.

Although, a few things could be better.

The first is the lack of privacy in the bathroom. The toilet could at least have a solid door.

Another, is the TV. How in the world could you get anything to work. I get theres a beach so who needs TV. Although, when im ready to go to bed, id like to have it on.
It was extremely confusing and ended up not working at all because of slow wifi.

The breakfast was extremely disappointing. I had the American breakfast and let me say there was nothing on that plate that was American and i am one. Americans dont eat hotdogs for breakfast lol

Lastly, we had the hotel setup a transfer back to Krabi airport. We were under the impression we would be sharing a van that carried 9 people. The driver ended up cramming 13 people and stacking luggage on peoples laps during a 3 hour drive. Things got alittle hostile between the passengers screaming at the driver to stop throwing luggage around.

Being a little South of the Island makes it a little more remote- nice quiet area. Great location with pools over looking the ocean view. Clean beach. Good local eats and bars. As it is a larger resort it is a little more busy with guests. Great view / location for breakfast- get in early. Unfortunately we had no hot water for our shower during our stay. We were at the back of the resort- watch out for the monkeys!! Hotel staff pleasant great house keeping service. Grabbing a scooter is ideal. Do not pay more than 300bht for transport to and from ferry.

It was in a great location right next to the beach but also nestled in the trees so you were surrounded by wildlife. It had an amazing bath too. The staff were all lovely. The only downsides were the air con was extremely noisy so woke us up sometimes and the water for the shower was either cold or scalding hot no inbetween. Despite this if we were to visit Ko Lanta again then we would stay here for sure.

We checked into this hotel on New Year’s Eve and were very excited after seeing the website. Our booking very clearly stated that it included New Year’s Eve gala tickets but on arrival were told we would need to pay extra for these - as I had this in writing I refused but we ended up sat in reception for two hours waiting for this to be resolved. The hotel has gorgeous facilities and the room was lovely, as were the pool areas and restaurant.
We tried to forget about the poor start and relax but upon check out had to wait so that they could check we hadn’t stolen anything! I have never received this kind of service from any hotel and it was an awful way to end our stay. Beautiful hotel but that definitely does not make up for the terrible service (especially for the price you pay). We would not stay here again for that reason

As somebody mentioned Srilanta must mean stay away in Thai - avoid this hotel at any price! Dirty rooms and poor service - nothing even close to four stars.

Food was mediocre, and the staff never smiled or even said hi. They barely cleaned our room, and the bathroom smelled terrible. It looks like the management is trying to make money out of everything without investing in proper trainings, facilities and service.

Location: good location by the beach, a little further on the island than I would prefer, but there was still plenty to do around. Beach was excellent, although there were a few rocks.

Room: we stayed in the myth rooms, which are furthest away from the beach. There are monkeys in the morning and afternoon, and one time monkey charged at us and hissed. The room needs serious upgrading, and the bathtub was in an unusable condition, which was disappointing. The open concept bathroom is spatious and we enjoyed it but it could prove lacking in privacy for some.

Service: the staff really tries to provide excellent service, but it is clear that there are management issues. No one knows what is going on exactly. We ordered a room with 2 beds, got one with just one, and it took nearly an hour to get someone to fix this. The same kind of happens for any service you request. Again, the staff really tries, but either there are not enough of them or the communication is simply not there.

Amenities: the pools are great, which is nice. We didn't use the spa, since it was much more expensive than the beach Thai massages. The hotel however, is still under construction (even though I specifically asked if it was still going to be). So things aren't quite what you would expect.

Food: breakfast is below average for the price. Low variety and the food is tasteless. We only ate once at the western and Thai restaurants, and they were just ok. Overpriced for what you get

A fabulous resort to enjoy Koh Lanta

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the SriLanta Resort. The staff were friendly and competent. The bungalow was spacious and had everything one could need. The beach was simply fabulous, and so were the 3x swimming pools. Internet connection was good. Food at the restaurant was delicious... The only thing the wife did not particularly enjoy, was sharing the bathroom with gecos and other creepy crawleys (to be expected in the middle of the jungle!). Would definitely recommend!

The hotel itself was really cool, lots of cute little bungalows, pool side chairs and beach front chairs (be prepared to get there early though as there was not a seat available by 11am everyday we were there), and a very jungle-esque environment.

Our issues came down to our room. This was the last stop of our honeymoon, so we upgraded to the Star Path villa for the claims of the views and the beautiful room. The room was very cool when we first arrived, super spacious, basically the size of a small apartment with multiple separate rooms and a big balcony, however, the view was mostly obstructed by trees so you only saw a partial bit of the ocean and there were severe monkey warnings everywhere which definitely woke us up early one morning clammering all around and on the roof, cute but irritating that early. The walk up the path for us was fine, we're a fit couple. Our issues with the room started on arrival, AC was not on and the entire bungalow was stifling hot. AC was only located in the bedroom and would auto turn off after awhile, frustrating when coming back from the beach already sun soaked. We had to keep all doors closed just to cool the bedroom which meant the other rooms of the bungalow were too uncomfortable to hang out in. The next issue were a few nails sticking out of the wood floor boards, which caught my husbands foot and badly gashed it open, we were extremely upset about this as we had beach excursions and had to significantly wrap up his foot to protect

Beware of forest view rooms

Excellent location, hotel a bit tired round the edges.
Beware when booking the forest rooms - most overlook a building site. No point having a jacuzzi on the balcony if there’s a horrible view!
We asked to be moved to a cloud suite (with an upgrade cost) and the staff were very helpful and accommodating and the new room was great.

The room did however smell a little of damp, most likely due to its position at the back of the resort amidst the trees/forest/jungle. The room was execlemnt though, very clean, big and beautiful.

The hotel has expanded the number of rooms considerably and facilities are unable to cope. Breakfast was 2 star at best and something of a rugby scrum each day. Coffee ran out and wasn't refilled. In general staff lacked the warmth that is usually the service characteristic of Thailand. The room itself was nice but my seaview turned out to be a view of a maintenance area and car park. Wifi was terrible - the worst I have experienced anywhere in quite some time.

The hotel is very nice, the rooms are very comfortable but the pictures are a bit decieving. You must walk down a fairly steep hill and across the road and to get to the beach which can be a nuisance if you want to just go back for something quick. The hotel lobby staff were a bit disorganized and provided very little assistance for a 4 star hotel. It’s location is quite far south on the island so be aware of that when booking because the majority of restaurants and activities are further north. It would be nice if they offered drinks at a reasonable price, you could walk down the road to get a big beer for 60 baht but they were charging over double for the same. Again, the hotel itself was very nice and the beach was great however for a 4 star hotel there was some things that could be worked on.

The Villas Definitely Need Upgrading

For some reason communicating with the staff at their restaurants was always a challenge. I wish management can provide basic English language classes to the entire staff. After all, this is an International resort. This resort was recommended to us by my brother-in-law who was a guest here some 10-12 years ago and upon checking-in in one of the villas, immediately you can tell that it needs a lot of upgrading or at least refurbishing. Or at least villa 313 needs it. I tell you, I feel like I don’t want to touch anything in the room. There were newer resorts around the area, maybe it’s worth checking them out before booking.

We loved our stay at Sri Lanta! It was by far the nicest place we stayed at in Thailand and i didn’t want to leave. The staff were so kind and helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and spacious and so comfortable. Breakfasts every morning were good and the beach and loungers had lots of access, was clean and beautiful. Would definitely recommend and wish we could go back!

ABSOLUTELY BLOODY BRILLIANT

My boyfriend and I stayed in the forest suite - and it was nothing short of amazing, especially given the price. We were a bit worried as we'd read other reviews about the rooms being a bit dirty or worse for wear, about there being no beach, etc. The forest suite sits right on top of a small hill (about 2 min walk from the road); right across the road are two restaurants and the srilanta beach which is nice! I think the myth/veranda/other rooms might be farther back and can't comment on their condition, but our forest suite was really great. Lots of space, lovely bath and shower, cleaners came everyday and kept the room spotless. There is definitely some evidence that the building may have been hastily prepared - basically, the paint job isn't 100%. But in terms of things that actually affect your stay, we didn't find any problems. Also a tip - there's a restaurant down the road called Yang Garden that's the best food I've had in Thailand so far. The breakfast buffet here is also great - there's an omelette/waffle bar where a chef prepares food for you. There's a great selection of food and fruits.

Lovely hotel on a sleepy island

In general we were very pleased with the hotel. The facilities were over and above what was expected and it was clean and modern.
The only downsides for us were the very thin walls in the bedrooms meaning that any slight noise would wake you up!
The staff were polite and friendly but service was sometimes quite slow.
Also in the main beach bar only beer and soft drinks were available during the day as they had no barman to make cocktails or smoothies!
Overall I would recommend. The quality of food in restaurants was very good and the beaches picturesque.

we liked this place. A little further out than most and rooms are actually the street from the beach. The restaurant is on the beach side. Nicer than most. breakfast was great with lots of options. Staff was generally helpful. We booked a few tours through the your center. Probably more expensive than if you did it yourself. The jacuzzi was really nice and tropical style rooms. Shower was spacious and clean. A big hill to climb and then stairs, but we got a scooter and ride all the way up. The beach was nice. The sand is so hot here! Lots of beach chairs and loungers. We didn't use the pools although they looked nice. Not much to offer in terms of late night or evening bar activities. My only complaints would be that the wifi was pretty bad and that the roof was lifting up at night with the wind and causing it to bang on the rafters. It sounded like a class 3 hurricane all night. Almost unbearable as if a construction crew was up there we working. Had to wear earplugs. We called the front desk but ww we're too tired to get up and move but something that seriously need to be fixed. Maybe it was just our room but spoiled an almost perfect stay. Also one tiny mirror for the whole room, lol.

What a beautiful island, idyllic location on gorgeous sunrise beach, beach long chairs comfy, food was excellent, breakfast well set up with service. The rooms and bungalows (got to stay in both) were perfectly groomed and authentically decorated. There was a beautiful pool with well arranged paths n gardens around it. Walk up and down the beach to discover restaurants, bars, long tail taxi boats, and a quiet bay at the end, the resort itself was quiet and family oriented but a walk away from nightlife in town and on beach. One of the nicest resorts i ve ever stayed in.

A nice hotel close to the beach

We had a pleasant stay but it did lack special touches and felt too big like a complex which I didn’t expect. However, the staff were lovely and the beach had a nice set up. The massages were amazing! However, the housekeeping didn’t clean our room the 4 days we were there which was disappointing, especially as I had specifically put up the ‘make up my room please’ sign.

Love Koh Lanta

Positives. An amazing manager that will go out of his way to make you happy. That is the big stand out at this resort.
The amenities, that are all across the road, are very good. Lovely, swimmable, clean, beach. Nice, newer loungers that were plentiful. Big open spaces. Okay restaurant. 3 nice pools.
Nice new linens and bedding. We asked for a topper for the bed, as it was a bit hard, but usual for Thailand. Everything is very, very clean. Staff was always smiling and welcoming.
Some negatives.
Our original room was the Myth. The newest rooms but way, way back of the property and way to far from the beach. Also right next to what looks like a dump. The newer more modern apartment/hotel rooms are nice. We stayed our first night in the Forester. Up a steep hill though. All the sleeping accommodations are on the other side of the road. We stayed in a Villa and it was very “rustic”. According to the manager these will all be torn down and replaced soon. There are other villas called Plantation that are newer and although I didn’t see the inside, they looked very nice.
The breakfast selection was really nice and plentiful. Although the egg station was NOT good and eggs were way, way over cooked. Management is aware, due to complaints, and hopefully this will be rectified.
Staff just needs more training.
All in all I would recommend this resort. We loved Koh Lanta and enjoyed our stay. We will be returning and will consider staying again at Sri Lanta.

Lovely hotel in an ideal location.

A very comfortable, charming and attractively designed hotel in a beautiful beach location. The staff were friendly. The food was very good, especially at Surya, the beachside hotel restaurant. We loved every day of our 14 day stay. The hillside cabin we occupied was quiet and cosy, with a great view.

This place felt like the Thai version of Fawlty Towers, except of course, since you're actually living it, its not at all funny. At first, we were given rooms that at best can be described as sheds, certainly not villas, like the hotel tries to call them on their website. After complaining, one of our rooms where changed immediately, whilst for the second, we had to wait 3 days.
The rooms ( Plantation ) are very illogically designed, i e the bathroom & toilet has no closed walls or doors, so you really should be quite familiar with whomever you're sharing with. Our bathroom was infested with ants, and we also had cockroaches daily.
The hotel changes towels daily, but the cleaning is quite badly done. In our 9 nights stay, they did not change bed linen once. ( The linen was stained, thus we knew it remained the same )
The F&B offerings are very underwhelming, and the service is quite poor. We all got quite sick during our stay - very reminiscent of food poisoning.
The common areas could do with some upkeep, but the beach is generally quite ok.
The best part of this hotel, is the morning yoga classes. The teachers are great!

This is not a 4 star hotel and certainly not worth the price we paid. The hotel is in the process of finishing construction on two new buildings. Upon check-in, we were given a room that was still under construction and dirty (floors were filthy, vents were black, paint wasn't completed, tub was filled with dirty water). Management admitted they had workers in the room earlier that day and forgot to have someone clean up again. The next room we were given was a supposed upgrade but was damp and had such a strong, terrible smell that I couldn't sleep. The bleach scent literally burned our nostrils and stuck to all of our clothes (all of which we then had to launder at our next hotel). Also, the water in the room was brown, it had a leaking tap, and the shower head was absolutely filthy. After telling the staff, we waited most of the next day and were eventually moved; we had switched rooms three times for a 2 night stay. Next was a modern, newer room but you can tell the builders are careless. There are already holes in the drywall, the floors are bubbling, the wood window coverings don't properly close, among other things. We travel quite frequently and this hotel was utterly disappointing; it actually kind of ruined our experience on Lanta. The hotel seems to care more about making money by filling their unfinished and uncleanly rooms than about the actual experience they are offering people. Wouldn't recommend today.

The beach is amazing: long, clean and with lovely restaurants and bars.

Good location where you can rent a bike and discover the area.

Could be luxury.....but is currently being built

After spending 6 nights in this hotel, it is safe to say we will not be returning!
We did not spend nearly £400 to be woken up at 07.00 each day by staff shouting outside the villas and building Work commencing shortly after with angle grinders and hammering taking place.
It wouldn’t have been a problem if we could then relax and sleep by the pool, but the fact that they are building a new bar area by the pool means that no matter where you went you couldn’t escape the building sounds. They hadn’t even put sun loungers and umberellas on the beach to make up for this. At least then it may have been a little more peaceful.
The Holiday did have a few disasters such as no electricity and then no water for an evening, but the hotel did try and redeem itself with a free cocktail per person (not exactly a big apology)
The staff at reception were kind and friendly and in the resturant too. However the service in the evening was not great and it felt very dis organised and as if we had arrived on the first day of the hotel being open. No one seemed to know what their job was or how to serve people.
On a positive note the food was excellent and the massage service he hotel provides cannot be faulted.
We feel that the by line of the hotel being “Sri - simply relax and indulge” is not true for its current state.
I feel that when booking people need to be informed of these works which apparently were meant to be finished on the 8/11/17! Please don’t waste your money like us!

Paradise!
We stayed in a Garden Veranda Villa nestled in the tropical hillside above the resort. The room is large, comfortable and well-serviced daily.
The resort itself goes above and beyond to cater to their guests. We were able to book bikes, snorkling trips, extra nights with no wait.
The restaurant serves A delicious breakfast buffet and is open all day for sunset drinks, dinners & snacks.
Lounge by the pool or beach and enjoy!

The resort is good, certainly for what we played for it. Not great value for food/activities, best to buy snack and drinks (beers etc) and rent motorbikes from the shop 50 yards down the road, you will save lots. The same applies to transport (transfers/boat trips etc) and laundry (40baht for a kg, rather than 50ish baht for 1 piece of underwear!) The restaurant is expensive compared to other places and the food is no better. For convenience it's ok, but it's worth the explore (walking or by rented motorbike or TukTuk) to find other restaurants and bars. The bar service isn't great, the rare times we did order beers in the bar area/restaurant it took around 5-10 mins, to pop the lid off a bottle... The room was nice, but expect lots of critters and geckos, ours certainly wasn't soundproof like the information says (you can see big gaps to the outside in certain places and the bathroom roof was very open to the outside.) We got used to it and it's ok eventually. Like the soundproofing, the 'Sea view' in the resort adverts was a very small gap through the trees. As a place to stay it was nice, the positives: the breakfast was great, pool area and beach are lovely (apart from the litter all over the beach, no fault of the resort), restaurant as a venue is a lovely outdoorsy chill area. Free pool towels are convenient. If you're looking for a cheap resort, this place is perfect, would stay again, but my expectations were higher before we got there. I think it's more a good 3 star

Where to start!

Initial checkin should have been a good indication of what to expect! No organisation more organised chaos and not even busy! We booked an upgraded room supposedly one of their more prestgious rooms to find we were part of a building site! Work started at 8am until 8pm daily! The facilities at this hotel were closed! Gym and clubhouse were apparently being refurbished..however we were never informed by expedia or the hotel that construction work was taking place! The place looks at feels tired, staff mooch around around with little or no purpose. Food wise we only ate at the restuarant once, upon arrival to try and stem them hunger pangs! A simple padthai and burger and chips! The food was borderline dangerous, unfit for human consumation...burger was not only cold throughout but still raw, chips were not cooked but cremated, obviously left from the night before and refied that much they were basicially long crisps...pad thai had rotten vegatables throughout....I am no Marco pierre white but come on two simple dishes was all I asked for.bike hire! DONT they are twice the price of the shops 100 metres down the road from the place and bikes are a mess, so much for customer service! We checked out 2 days early and as doing so were asked to sign a preprinted form that we werent leaving because of the state of the hotel! Hmmmm alarm bells there, guess Im not the only disgruntled guest this hotel has had...and no it was not signed! Disgusted with expedia and hotel for misinformatio

Actually We really enjoyed our stay and we had the chace to stay in two of their villas the first was a more traditional and the second with a more clean look and modern feel both very comfortable. There was a small problem however with the floor in the bathroom of the traditional villa which is very slippery and my wife ended up flat on her face..... reason for the change! Otherwise all good and super friendly staff and I would return.

Just not quite good enough for the money...

This was the most expensive place we stayed in three weeks and was our least favorite... We had just left a secluded beach on Lipe with great snorkeling right in front. After that, this beach (and Lanta in general) was a disappointment- we only got in the water once in four days and stayed in for about five minutes. There was trash in the weeds right off the beach and we were stung by something invisible. Probably just parts of jellyfish and no fault of the resort, and more than likely this is not usually the case.

One issue was that the day we arrived and for an hour or two every day there was chainsawing in the jungle near our bungalow. No relaxation possible while this was happening. This was combined with burning each morning which made being on porch impossible. Not sure if it was the resort or its neighbor, but not what we were looking for.

Breakfast was OK. Overall, the facilities are a bit run down.

My biggest issue with this place is the layout from a design standpoint. There is no flow to the property. You arrive and go down stairs toward the beach to check in. You then go back up the stairs and cross the road to all rooms The pool areas are not functional and the buffet area was not designed to host a buffet. Tons of wasted space and no thought as to flow between different spaces of the resort.

Underwhelming experience

Overall this resort (not sure it even qualifies as a resort) was a little underwhelming.

The room: As many other reviews note, the rooms are across the road, up some stairs and up a hill. It's not terrible but be prepared. When we got to our room, there were no towels in the bathroom which seemed a little strange. There also wasn't wifi in our room. The room was big and clean. There's a nice patio off of each room. The downside for us was the bed. It felt like sleeping on rocks and we were glad to be checking out for that reason alone.

Amenities: The woman who ran the activities desk was not very helpful. She booked us for a trip that was already full and wasn't very friendly or helpful. We ended up making our own plans on the island. The best decision you can make is to rent a motor bike from the hotel. The island is definitely worth exploring and it's the easiest way to get around. We took trips to the various beaches, popular bars, and more. We ate breakfast here but would recommend eating at some of the local restaurants that are less money and have better food.

If we went back to Ko Lanta we would move up to one of the nicer resorts or save our money and knowingly stay somewhere more humble.

Sri Lanta was a stunning retreat, we had a great time relaxing there. There are fantastic restaurants nearby, a short walk along the beautiful beach, it is located on a lovely part of Lanta and the facilities at the resort itself were great. I would very happily book Sri Lanta again.

Dissapointing...dark/dirty bungalows, poor service

Upon arrival we were quite disappointed. The bungalow was dark and dirty (dead flies all over the floor!). In the pictures they have all the windows open so it looks like you have a beautiful jungle view, but in reality the Windows are covered with wooden shutters and its not practical to have them open because 1. all the neighbors can see in 2. Bugs 3. AC, which results in a very dark/depressing room. Also the bathroom was NOT the standard of a 4 star hotel (not even of a 2 star hotel)...it was a patchwork construction job with visible nails, paint all over the fixtures, crooked floors, gaps to outside etc. Plus they have some plumbing issues and our toilet leaked water all over the floor. We addressed this to the staff and asked if there was another room available and they moved us to another bungalow with exactly the same issues.
The rest of the resort was nice. Cool, Thai style design and lots of facilities. Decent breakfast buffet. We ate one night at the restaurant and the food was great and not too expensive.
Overall I was underwhelmed by the service....at breakfast there were dirty plates piled everywhere, at the beach we had to wait for like 45 minutes for towels, our safe was already locked and the front desk said they would unlock it and no one ever came, etc.

Overall it's a great little spot on lovely Koh Lanta but not the amazing Thai hospitality we experienced elsewhere and overpriced for the standard of the rooms.

Early March/16, 5 days. Location, beach and area great as not so tourist crowded. Disappointed as rooms/chalets are not near resort or beach but a difficult climb up the hillside across the road.The rooms are OK but the bathroom is very lacking with only cold water if any (2 days only early morn or late evening). After 2 days of water problems the two pools were horrid as everyone was using them to rinse off from the beach etc. Also one day of no electricity, note the lovely TV did not work anyway. The breakfast buffet was fine and the restaurant was good but service extremely slow.

There was a planned power outage for 8 hours but the resort's generator broke down so we had no power or water for almost the entire day. The next day they had a water line break on the resort and we were without water for almost 40 hours.

We enjoyed the quaintness of the bungalows and the view of the ocean. For the most part, the staff were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the massages. Unfortunately, the hotel has issues with water, service at the restaurant was poor and the climb to the rooms would be difficult for anyone with a disability. The shower in the bungalow did not generally have hot water and we didn't enjoy the cold showers in the morning. The stairs were uneven and difficult to manage for anyone that had shorter legs. The lighting at night also wasn't great and made it unsafe for walking. The bathroom had a very small step from the main area and we tripped on this a few times. The pools seemed murky and unclean especially after not having water available for showers in the bungalows during the day for two days in a row.

Nice but overpriced

We had a good time at Sri Lanta but it is very overpriced - we paid about $180 for a bungalow veranda room which is worth about $90-$100, based on other places we've travelled. The huts are generally pretty basic, particularly the bathrooms, which would be fine but not that that rate. We stayed at the Marriott in Bangkok for the same price and it was absolute luxury in comparison.
The food is good here and the beach is lovely. It's very quiet down this end of the island. But if you don't have/can't ride a scooter then it's an expensive ride to the main town, about 15-20mins away. They charge 150b per person each way, which for a family of four ends up being almost $50 for a return trip. Compare this to taxis in Bangkok which cost about $8 for over an hour's ride.
Generally Koh Lanta is overpriced but it is still a nice island, if you're not interested in getting value for your money.

The service at Sri Lanta is the best I have ever experienced anywhere in the world.

Klong nin beach is chilled. Background music at the bars to watch sunset but definitely a couples retreat more than a backpacker destination; which for me is a huge plus.

The rooms at Sri lanta are lovely, the only negative is their plumbing really does need an overhaul, but I can't not give this place 5:5 regardless. It's the most attractive resort on the island, with the best staff and services on in my opinion koh lanta (being itself the highlight of my 3 weeks in Thailand)'s best beach

Nice resort with serious pest problems

Just finished a 3 night stay at Sri Lanta and it was a bit of a disaster. Our confirmed airport transfer didn't show up which the hotel rectified by telling us to \"get a taxi\".

Upon check in we were led to our jungle villa, a 5 minute hike up a steep hill on the opposite side of the road to the beach, which hadn't been cleaned and was crawling with ants. A 2 minute inspection we found hundreds of ants (dead and alive), food crumbs, cockroach eggs on the wall, giant lizard droppings on the walls and floors and someone's bikini bottoms behind the bed! After trying to fob us off to just spend the night, we got moved to a room in their new building, \" The Myth\".

This room was much nicer - actually indoors, with much less wildlife and appeared to be clean. All seemed well until we got back at midnight on our last night and our food and some rubbish from the bin had been scattered around the room. Upon closer inspection, we found rat droppings and half eaten M&M's, chewed through Pringles tube and chocolate wrappers dragged around the sink. When I took my torch and looked in the side of the wooden sink frame, there he was looking back at me - a big brown rat.

Staff sent a man with a broom and a basket, but we moved rooms again before we saw the attempted rat catching.

We got some apologies, but most staff didn't seem too concerned and there was no offer of compensation of any sort on check out.

Basic Bungalows with nice hotel surroundings

We booked the bungalow at Srilanta. It looks great on pictures but wasn't as nice as we got there.
Especially because the wooden walls of the standard bungalow are quite thin and the doors and windows have many gaps. It really gives you a little of the forest feeling but i wouldn't recommend this Hotel for people who are afraid of bugs. My wife got bitten all over during our stay.

The lobby and the hotel grounds are very nice. The design and the location are great. If you like a mix of basic Thai Style bungalow accommodation with a high standard hotel feel and nice amenities right on the beach, than SriLanta is the perfect choice.

The Staff is very nice and Helpful. Thumbs Up!

Wouldn't Stay Again

When we arrived it looked very impressive, however, we were soon disappointed
The Room - we stayed in The Myth - the team seemed really proud of it but there are some serious flaws.....
1) when anybody flushes a toilet you can hear it like a jumbo jet taking off (and I don't just mean in the room you are in, I mean anybody in a room near yours! - not great at 3am in the morning)
2) the double bath takes forever to fill up (I gave up after an hour as it was about 3 inches deep and going cold.)
3) the mattress is like a brick, the worst thing I have ever slept on.
4) not a major thing but these rooms are new but the finish on them is a bit poor, (it was very clean though)
The pool - there are 2, on first inspection the one behind reception looks ok, but when you get in it you can see a layer on film on top and other pool by restaurant looks green so we didn't even get in it.

Stay at Miami resort next door. Its friendlier and has a lovely and clean pool!

We absolutely loved loved loved this resort, we spent 6 days here pretty much relaxing and enjoying the environment. Our villa was comfortable/clean and romantic. It was great having mosquito net around the bed as lots of wildlife geckos/mosquitos etc. Breakfast was fantastic and the other facilities swimming pool/bar/restaurant all were all amazing. The staff were very helpful and if we had any issues or problems things were rectified immediately. Prices for transfers/tours/renting motorbike were a little expensive so better to organise these at different place there are plenty of tourist agents around. Overall really great place for a holiday.

Really loved our time at Sri Lanta! Has a really nice vibe. At night you can walk along the beach to all the bars and restaurants. Pool was great, and the food was best I had in Thailand ! Staff were great especially Eran ( sp). Would say that the breakfast was only negative which didn't have an egg station
