The staff was so welcoming and great at offering advice on what's worth it and what was open as I went a little before the season. The location was great as everything was very walkable and the porch was very nice to relax in the evening.

This is really a great little place to stay if you're on a budget. The location is perfect to visit many vineyards as it is located in the middle of the lake region. The room was cutely decorated. The owner is very nice helpful and is there for any meat you might have the only thing to be conscious of is that you were on the main road so it may be a little bit noisy with the traffic.

I was highly impressed with my recent stay here this past weekend. I gifted my husband a getaway for Valentine day and I’m glad I chose Savannah. At first I was a little worried because I like to read some of the negative reviews. I have to say none were true!! First we were treated by the friendliest staff Jeff and their SUPER friendly kitty. We got there late for check-in, but he was pleasant and helped us with a quick check-in. We had the suite and let me tell you it was spotless. I have stayed in many 5-star hotels throughout Canada, Europe and many states in the U.S, and their place was the cleanest I have seen. There was nothing needed. There was a full kitchenette, fridge(that worked), dining table (with wine glasses), 2 TV’s, a super clean bathroom, a big hot tub, plenty of towels, a cute little fireplace, a couch, and balcony. Smelled nice! You get amazing views of the lake from the suite which is one that 2nd floor. I honestly can’t say if it’s the same from the lower rooms. The only thing that was missing was an ironing board & iron. Perhaps I missed it, but it wasn’t a big deal. My husband who is a hotel connoisseur (joking) even gave compliments on how clean it was here and even wants to come back. This review is from 2 business owners who don’t take leaving reviews lightly.

The room was clean and decorated nicely. Bathroom was clean as well and had nice water pressure. The view of the lake from the room was amazing! The owner sent me a text message with the room # and code for the lock around 3 pm which was nice.
I also left my charger in the room and the owner is nice enough to mail it back to me.

From the text message I received on the day we were to check in straight through the time we checked out three days later, our experience was PERFECT. The level of detail when we opened the door (room lights on, soft music playing, decorated immaculately) I was impressed. The few communications with the owner showed that they cared far more than most hotels...this place was their baby, and they'd give the shirt off their back to make sure your stay was pleasant. It's an older property, but that was half the charm. I would 100% stay at this property if ever I end up in the Finger Lakes region again. A++++!!!

The Savannah House was perfect for our 45th Wedding Anniversary and Visiting our favorite Wineries. The Room decor was cozy and welcoming . The condition of the room was Immaculate . 5 stars for cleanliness ⭐️. The Staff was extremely accommodating and answered all our questions with immediate response, giving wonderful suggestions for dining. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a stay along the Seneca and Keuka Wine trails Also don’t miss the Wager Cider Mill and the Spotted Duck Creamy voted the Best Ice Cream in Upstate NY. They use only Duck Eggs to make their amazing Ice Cream🥰

The room was very clean and comfortable. The shower was a bit difficult to manage with the water splashing out uncontrollably after pooling on the shower seat. Also, it would be good to have a slip proof mat on the shower floor being that the floor of the shower was very slippery. Otherwise, Jeff was very helpful and had many suggestions for places to see.

Beautiful gem with a lake view

Our room was absolutely beautiful! We enjoyed sitting on the patio in the evenings and watching the deer with the view of the lake. The building is an old motel so I was a little concerned when we pulled up but the rooms were decorated like an elegant B&B and included everything we needed. It included a mini fridge with a decent sized freezer, microwave, coffee pot, towels, soaps, ceiling fan, bedside tables and lamps, 2 chairs in the room, portable tray tables, patio chairs and table on the deck, Adirondack chairs in the yard, TV, WiFi, wardrobe, chest of drawers. We never saw the host. He texted us when our room was ready and gave us the door code. He was available via text or phone if we needed anything but we never needed to contact him.

We've stayed at Savannah House several times and it has always been a WONDERFUL experience. The quaint rooms are beautifully decorated, and the sunrise lake views are a great way to start your day. The innkeeper, Jeff, is always very friendly and helpful.

The room was much smaller than we thought. The bed looked more like a double than a queen, and it was very soft, and not very comfortable.We didn’t really get much sleep at all. The air conditioner was a stand alone conditioner that was extremely loud. The room smelled musty. The outside area was pretty, and since we didn’t really sleep, we were able to watch the sun come up at about 5 o’clock in the morning and that was pretty. We were unable to stay all three nights. We only stayed one and then we had to find another place to stay. We did notify the person who was taking care of it and of course we didn’t get any kind of refund. He said it was because we didn’t let them know anything was wrong and we left without telling them. I didn’t feel as though I wanted to wake them up in the middle of the night and I knew that there was nothing that they could do about a tiny room, an uncomfortable bed, loud airconditioner, or the smell in the room. We were lucky enough to be able to find another place to stay. All in all it was a rough night and a very expensive trip.

We stayed for four nights, from Sunday to Wednesday, in mid-June. The room was comfortable and clean, but somewhat worn. The view of the lake from the patio off the room was beautiful. The perfect place to read, sip wine, and relax. Located next door to 2 vineyards with lots more nearby. Only 15 minutes to Watkins Glen and only 40 min. to Corning and the Glass Museum. We had a wonderful and restful mini vacation!!!

This was our second stay here and will definitely return. The rooms are so quaint and charming not to mention spotless. Love the old magazines and books in the room. Nice deck with a view of the lake. There are only a few rooms here, maybe 9 or 10.

Savannah House and Cottages provides great lodging and value in a beautiful setting overlooking Lake Seneca. The host family is gracious and helpful. They are on site, which is an added plus. The room is small, but is spotless and comfortable. Several good wineries are closeby and it’s a short drive to Watkins Glen. We thought it was much nicer than staying in the town. What could be better than looking out at a lake in one direction and vineyards in the other?

The property is a lovingly restored roadside motel. The rooms are small but the added sliding glass door to a private deck brings light and space. The sunrise view of Seneca Lake is breathtaking. Jeff is a great host and the grounds are immaculate. The room is appointed with interesting books and magazines . For a quiet “homey” place to stay this is a great find!

This is a hidden jewel. Nice room, small deck, nice view down to lake. All communication with staff was done with text, easier for me that way. Location is pretty much centered for most wineries on west side of Seneca Lake.

LOVED this place. It was quiet and peaceful and adorable. The bed was so comfy. The owner Jeff was friendly and helpful. It was very convenient - 20ish min each to Penn Yan and to Watkins Glen and very close to so many wineries. I would recommend in a heartbeat.

We liked the cozy feel of our unit. Comfy bed, kind of noisy frig but otherwise really nice. We liked the back deck off our room with table and chairs to relax and view the lake.

Weekend anniversary stay

We have pros and cons about the room we stayed in. Pros - felt completely safe. Shower was nice and big. Quiet and very clean.
Cons were that there was NO countertop space or outlets in the bathroom. And the overall room was pretty small.
Was very cheerful and warm overall. Loved the yellow bathroom.

Little slice of peace and tranquility

The Savannah House motel was a cute, clean and ever so friendly place to stay.

We got to the motel a bit earlier than check in but Jeff helped us get checked in by sending me the access code for the electronic locks. He then showed us to our door and made sure we could get in easily.

The room was absolutely adorable. The views out both front and back were amazing looking out to the lake and across to the grape fields.

Cleanliness was beyond reproach. Everything was so clean. The home style towels and bed linens made you feel like home.

There is a community fire pit off to the side that Jeff had lit both nights that we were there and several of the guests were gathered.

Jeff is the owner and he was terrific in all aspects. Any questions he was there to answer.

I am afraid to reccommend this place because everyone will book it and then we can't come back to visit.

The location of this place is between Geneva and Watkins Glen but there is nothing right in your back yard except flowers and trees.

The rooms had a listing of local spots for food, gas and entertainment so we were able to check out some of the local spots.

So i will highly recommend this little slice of peace and quiet to anyone that asks.
