The room was clean when we got there. The staff were nothing but helpful when asking for recommendations of where to eat, even though we came rather late and some restaurants were closed the staff didn’t hesitate to help us out

The bed and pillows smelled awful. The ceiling was peeling. And being in the room caused my asthma to be extremely bad, pretty sure there was mold. But the front desk people were great

We have stayed at the Capitol Plaza Hotel several times and each time we have been pleased with our stay. Montpelier is a smaĺ town, but offers aĺl the amenities a city mouse like me needs. I suspect i will be staying at the Capitol Plaza again.

Each member of the staff was courteous. When we had a housekeeping issue, it was addressed within minutes, probably the fastest I have ever had a response to a housekeeping request! I do wish there were microwaves in the room, but other than that, no complaints.

Beautiful Hotel right in the heart of downtown Montpellier.its right around the corner from the Montpelier bus station so makes for a lovely overnight or weekend getaway from Boston. The room was cozy and there is a wonderful restaurant on premises

The room was clean, although the shelf between the beds held a pack of peanut butter crackers from a previous guest. Desk staff was very courteous, especially when I had to go down the next morning for a third towel and washcloth even though my reservation was for three. I paid for onsite parking but the card reader never worked, so we had to use the call feature to enter and exit each time. Overall an average experience that didn’t quite justify the expense.

Was extremely disappointed in this Hilton property. Hilton typjcally has a standard, and this property doesnt fit that. From the moment we pulled in to the parking area that was filled with a homeless camp and felt unsafe, to the room that shocked us. The lobby is nice, but the room- yuck! The ceiling tiles were barely hanging on, the shower level fell off, toilet paper holder was on the ground, the room smelled musty, the shower floor was nasty and the shower ceiling had myserious peeling all hanging above your head. To say we were disappointed is an understatement!

Overall felt safe. The hotel charge for parking is very rude. Breakfast not included. The hotel needs to clean hallway carpets, smell dusty and dirty. The room needs better cleaning to mirrors and floors. It was evident that cleaning is lacking.

The towels is the room we’re stained not even close to white. I had no floor mat to use after getting out the shower. No soap at all at the sink. It was not up to Hilton standard at all. A late checkin was easy.

Super friendly staff. Great location at downtown Montpelier where you can walk out and walk the shops and restaurants. Very very friendly staff. Was SO DISAPPOINTED that I paid over $500 a night for a very very motel-like room. I had back aches from the bed. For that rate I’d have the Ritz at the ocean. Bummed.

Tiny room w Queen bed and very noisy. Tiny bathroom w very loud industrial toilet. Bed hard as a rock.Desk clerk said because we reserved through Hotels.com. Street on one side and ice machine outside door. Elevator is slow and only holds two people w luggage. Feels run down although they claim was refreshed a few years ago.

The staff was outstanding-very helpful and friendly. I believe that the room was over priced for the level of luxury it provided. Hard mattress, too soft pillows, cob web in the bathroom doorway, TV in bedroom too difficult to use. And since it was on main street, it was noisy. Sorry, Hilton, but after coming from other hotels/inns in the area, you have some work to do.

Rooms were very comfortable with the exception of the following:
Windows needed screens - couldn't open them for fresh air because bugs would come in.
The shower head did not work well and we had a hard time getting the soap and shampoo due to the placement of the holder right under the shower head.

I like the hotel and staff. The room I had was next to the elevator, it was a bit noisy. We did have issues with the toilet and I let the front desk know when I checked out. My only real concern was the homeless/unhoused living in the parking lot adjacent to the hotel. I was worried about my rental car getting broken into as I was moving my son to college with all his stuff. In the end nothing was broken into or taken.

A room with a view

Our stay at this hotel was truly wonderful! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome—everyone was incredibly friendly and always had a smile on their face.

While the elevator was out of service during our visit, the team handled the situation beautifully. They upgraded us to a stunning corner room with amazing sunset views, which was also much larger than the room we originally booked. The only trade-off was having to climb five flights of stairs, but honestly, the beautiful room and the thoughtful service made it completely worth it.

They took care of storing our bikes safely, offered complimentary coffee and water, and have a great on-site restaurant with a nice bar. The bartender was super friendly and made the experience even better.

The location is perfect—everything is close by and easily accessible. Plus, they even waived the parking fee to make up for the elevator inconvenience, which we really appreciated.

Overall, I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again! The service, location, and the way they went above and beyond to make our stay special really stood out.

The elevator service was out of order and i had to walk up and down to my room that was on the 4th floor. To be fair the hotel called me a day before and told me that i was scheduled to be on the 4th floor and the service was out and would that be okay and i replied it was okay, but it was still a pain.

We’ve stayed here many times and have enjoyed it. Prior to staying here this past time we stayed several months ago and for some reason, their elevator is still not working. They offer a nice breakfast, but I have to admit I like the ambience and decor of J Morgan’s prior to being redone, as it was cozier. I have not tried their dinners since they reopened after the terrible flooding.

The elevator is out. Not like, \"oh, calling to let you know our elevator is out.\" Which is how it was portrayed by the property representatives a week before my check in. It has been out since the FLOOD OF 2023 (as I found out AFTER arriving). I got my steps in for sure, with a five story walk up and down. Also, I was shown into the wrong room type, and then had to move to the correct room type. Once there, the thermostats did not work (I had to bother maintenance to point me towards the floor units...embarrasing). And the shower slider glass doors were not on their bottom tracks...just free floating, waiting to break and slice me. The fitness center is a fitness closet and the treadmill wobble above 3.5 mph. The location is great, the staff were very nice, and the property was relatively clean. And the city of Montpelier is awesome...my first time there. I will not stay at this property again though. I will AirBnB.

Our overnight at the Capitol Plaza was relaxing and comfortable. We were surprised at the size of our suite, the shower was huge! Valerie at the front desk was so friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately the elevator is out of service, so we took the stairs to the 4th floor, giving us some cardio exercise while we were there!
