Photos trompeuses: ça tombe en ruine

Chambre degeulasse à l’arrivée, pleine de toiles d’araignées et d’araignées, pas de filet pour les insectes. Lit horrible, chambre sale, 2 pouces d’épais de crasse sur le dessus de l’air climatisé, literie tachée. Vu les nombreuses araignées dans la chambre j’ai demandé à changer de chambre, on m’a répondu que pour avoir une chambre propre j’allais devoir payer plus cher. J’ai donc payé un supplément pour une chambre nettoyée convenablement…cette chambre là était en bien meilleur état. Par contre, Aucun service, le personnel n’est d’aucune aide. Ils s’en foutent complètement. Hôtel n’est pas du tout représentatif des photos, ça tombe en ruine.
Les heures prévues pour le petit déjeuner ne sont pas respectées (on nous a dit 7h à 9h mais toujours servi en retard entre 7:30 et 7:45..à prévoir si vous avez une excursion de prévue!) le wifi ne fonctionne pas dans les chambres, seulement dans le lobby. Aucune bouteille d’eau de fournies dans les chambres, il faut payer pour des bouteilles d’eau. Aucun shampoing juste du savon de fourni. État général de l’hôtel laisse à désirer comparer aux photos de l’annonce. Mais le pire vraiment, c’est le service qui a été horrible sur toute la ligne.

Nice little hotel directly on the beach.

Quaint little hotel located on the beach at the south end of Jambiani. Room was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast is served each morning with a selection of fruit followed by a choice of eggs and pancakes. The restaurant isn’t really geared up for much else and doesn’t open in the evening, but there are a nice choice of restaurants in both directions along the beach. Only critism would be that staff aren’t particularly well trained on hospitality and customer service aside of what seemed to be ‘the manager’ Jocher who was very helpful, but obviously not always available.

The hotel staff was superior. After having a terrible time finding the place in the evening, tired from a long day we got here and our room was not what we thought we were getting nor was it ready. Weird as they knew we were coming but did Not seem ready for us. After ordering diner we ate, felt better and finally got a proper room. Hard evening. However next day was perfect. From morning breakfast we went for a walk on the beach, swam in the pool! Breakfast was perfect and really good. Good in general is superior. The owner really took special care of us and we even got super late check out! A wonderful ending to our trip. I would come again and stay longer. Felt so at home it was embarrassing. Thought we were taking too much space! Very grateful for my Tanzanian brothers taking such good care of my family and o. Plus points: daughter and wife loved it! Very relaxing! Will come again

So firstly let me tell you , our original hotel cancelled on us last minute and I’m the type of girl who researches everything so I was in a bit of a panic but chose Jambiani white sands bungalows!

What an amazing little boutique hotel! I was not disappointed from the moment of arrival we were made to feel very welcome.

If your looking for a five star all inclusive then this is not your place. Instead this is a small hotel directly on the beach where you can really experience Zanzibar with the locals with amazing staff and service.
Our room was upgraded to a beach view and waking up every morning to the view of the beach and ocean was spectacular.
Room was comfortable, with a very comfy bed and shower room and balcony. The room also had a fan and AC which was much needed at night!

The staff in particular Aziza and the chef Jacob are absolutely amazing who made sure we had all we needed, cooking us some amazing meals and also some meals that were not on the menu which we asked for! These two really made our holiday amazing and this is one of the reasons I would come back and I wouldn’t usually go to a destination twice!

The beach what can I say about the beach it’s absolutely stunning with the tide coming in and out a few times a day and sometimes it’s so shallow you can walk waist deep for miles.

There is lots of sellers on the beach and massage ladies and also boat boys who will offer you a sail for a really good price and even snorkel or swim.

Perfect place to relax

Once you reach there, no complaint. The beach is amazingly beautiful. Owner Ali is wonderful gentle guy. His recommendation on restaurants was perfect match to our demand. Flexible service for lunch box arrangement for excursion was also helpful as we could have it on the way to the destination. Jambiani is a bit far from any tourist place, but to spend time relaxed, it is a perfect choice. No beer nor wine was available there, which you need to know.

Amazing location

Amazing beach bungalows with great service. Restaurant serves delicious food (bare in mind a long wait).
Staff is friendly and attentive.
Located in quiet area where you will have a chance to meet local villagers, play football with kids and see seaweed farms.
Unique experience, this place is for you if you want to stay away from expensive all look alike resorts.

You can visit the village, eat great food, chat with villagers, don’t worry they are nice and won’t hassle you.

Get Away From It All

We came here directly from a strenuous climb of Kilimanjaro. It was a great place to relax and unwind. If you are looking for a lot of night life and activity, though, you probably want to go further north. The beach is nice and sandy here and the water is a beautiful turquoise color but it's hard to swim in the ocean here except at high tide. At low tide, the water is out a really long ways.
The hotel is a series of thatched roof bungalows right on the beach and backs up to the little dirt-road village of Jambiani. Our king-sized bed basically took up the whole room. We had to pull our patio table inside so we would have a space to lay our belongings but that worked just fine. The staff was very welcoming. The cook was very good. Very nice breakfast each morning in the open-air restaurant onsite. The restaurant seemed to be a little nicer than many of the others along the beach (with slightly higher prices too but the food was good).
Another plus - the hotel was able to hook us up with a reliable, affordable taxi driver who was very accommodating and spoke good English.

Check in took over an hour with almost no communication from the staff, even though it was at 6pm. The room still had used soap and garbage from the previous occupants. The beach, however, was wonderful.

Wonderful stay at White Sands Bungalows! The GM (called Said) was wonderful-- he personally greeted us and ensured our stay was great multiple times. Laila and the other girls on staff were also great. This location is RIGHT on the beach and even if you get a garden room as we did, we were still only steps away and actually preferred the bit of extra privacy. Great snorkeling, relaxing on the beach and a great local scene on the beach at nights as well -- the kids come out and play pickup soccer and other games in the evening which is entertainment in its own right!

Finally, the food was a highlight...for most of the meals. They seem to rotate through perhaps three chefs on different shifts and the same menu items come out quite differently depending on whose cooking. The vast majority were great but a few dishes that were subpar. Bear in mind that there is no alcohol at this location (quite common on the island since it is majority Muslim) but there are locations that serve just a short walk down the beach.

Overall we were very very happy and would definitely return!

Great hotel right on the beach

I stayed for four nights. Getting there from the airport is best by taxi. You can coordinate with the hotel to get a driver to pick you up for $35. Otherwise, the airport taxis will charge you up to $60 for a one way trip. The town of Jambiani very poor and there's nothing to see. However, the beaches are very nice. The hotel offers free breakfast and it's excellent. The restaurant offers a lot of food options, but they never have anything fresh, most if frozen. I only ate breakfast and the few times I did eat lunch there, I ordered chicken dishes or vegetable only dishes since their vegetables were fresh. For dinner, I always walked down the beach and checked with the other restaurants to see what they had fresh. You have lots of options to pick from and they're good and less than 16000 TZS, which is less than $8. The room I got was the bungalow right up front, I had a queen bed and mosquito net with a ceiling fan which kept me cool at night. The hotel is great and I got it for a great price, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I big plus for me, they had nice comfortable hammocks which I used every day. Also, try to buy water bottle in the way from the airport or you can walk into town, about 100 m and buy the big water bottles for 1000 shillings. The hotel charges double.

Place to go!

The owner/manager is so nice (one of my friends didn't have a phone charger, so he let her use his) and welcoming. Right on the beach, nice room, good shower, delicious food with friendly staff. The included breakfast was huge and always came with fresh juice, bread and eggs, fruit, plus a changing pastry. No complaints. I would stay here if I went back!

worst hotel ever!

We got to the hotel & the hotel didn't even have our reservation. There was 8 of us that traveled such a long way & they had nothing there.

The way Expedia have described this hotel is completely misleading, the bungalows are in the middle of nowhere & are so unclean.

Would never book anything from Expedia again & would not recommend the bungalows.

Frühstück war einfach aber gut..

Was gar nicht ging, trotzdem geschrieb dass die Ankunft spät erfolgt, war niemand an der der Rezeption. Bei Expdia hinterlegte Nummer hat keiner geantwortet. Erst die Security konnte dann helfen, was im Regen nicht einfach war.
Die Bungalows hatten zwei Tage kein Wasser und wir mussten das zimmer in eine kategorie drunter wechseln, da dort alles funktionierte.

War aber trotzdem eine gute Zeit.

When we first checked in, there was urine on the toilet seat that we had to clean ourselves because the staff said it ws only «calsium build up» from when they clean. The electricity cut off 2 times in 3 days (not the hotells fault). The breakfast was very mid with alot of insects, bees and cats around you.

Some photos do not correspond to reality., Also, when I booked the hotel, there was information that there would be shampoo, but there wasn’t any, plus there was no Wi-Fi in the room, although the description stated that there would be free Wi-Fi, but there was Wi-Fi only at the reception.

A l'arrivée, 2 chambres de réservées, une chambre correcte et une autre de dimensions trop petites où il est impossible de mettre une valise, non conforme à la réservation. Hôtel dans un état de vieillissement et vétuste (tuyauteries rouillées, salle de bains très sale, électricité en très mauvais état, poignée de porte moisie, robinetteries inutilisables, etc, etc....) Hôtel à ne pas recommander et personnel sans aide pour les clients.

Il ,est inadmissible de laisser une empreinte de carte bleue à la réservation pour un paiement sur place et ensuite, obligation de régler en cash car terminal de paiement en soi-disant non fonctionnement. Pas de banque à proximité, une galère pour régler, réglement en euros, hôtel à éviter ou à régler à la réservation et avec option remboursable.
Direction pas honnête, très décu.

A due passi dalla spiaggia, i bungalow offrono tutto il necessario per un soggiorno all’insegna del comfort e della tranquillità. La nostra camera si affacciava proprio sulla spiaggia potendo così godere di una vista meravigliosa a tutte le ore del giorno. Personale attento, cordiale e sempre disponibile. Cucina della struttura ottima e a buon prezzo. Colazione ricca e variegata, non mancano mai frutta fresca e succhi appena spremuti (ogni mattina un gusto differente tra l’altro).
Tutto perfetto, bravissimi ragazzi!

Unsere Reise begann leider mit einer Flugverspätung, sodass wir die Befürchtung hatten, nachts nicht mehr einchecken zu können.
Allerdings wurde an der Rezeption auf uns gewartet, worüber wir uns sehr freuten.
Die Zimmer sind mit den nötigsten Dingen ausgestattet.
Die Möbel könnten ein Update gebrauchen und es fehlte ein zweiter Stuhl und ein Tisch auf dem Balkon.
Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Lage direkt am Strand, war wirklich sehr schön war.
Wer noch besonders hervorzuheben ist, ist Adam - er erfüllte uns unsere Wünsche beim Frühstück und war immer sehr hilfsbereit.
Leider wurden meiner Freundin 200 Euro geklaut. Wir wollen niemanden direkt beschuldigen, aber ein Safe im Zimmer könnte sowas verhindern.

Notre séjour a été super. Jambiani est magnifique le personnel de l’hôtel est adorable et à répondu à toutes nos demandes. La chambre est très belle ( nous avions un bungalow vu plage ) le petit déjeuner était copieux et très bon il y a du choix. N’ayant pas loué de voiture sur place l’hôtel nous a trouvé des taxis à chaque fois ( qui sont d’ailleurs très ponctuels ) je recommande vivement !

Hotel am Strand

Es ist ein Hotel am Strand. Die Zimmer sind lediglich mit Bett und Beistelltisch möbeliert. Kasten oder einen Stuhl gibt es nicht.
Zudem ist das Frühstück eintönig und man bekommt jeden Tag das selbe vorgesetzt. Es gibt keine Auswahl an Kaffe, Tee, Marmeladen, Obst oder Säften. Von allem gibt es eine Sorte und dies jeden Tag!
Zudem ist eine Riesenbaustelle unmittelbar in und neben der Anlage. Wir hatten das „Fliesenlager“ genau unter unserem Fenster und wurden morgens um 7 durch Baustellengeräusche geweckt.
Der Hotelmanager spricht kein Englisch und holt Kellner zum Übersetzen hinzu. Außerdem kann man zusehen, wie er am Strand Kinder misshandelt.
Das restliche Personal war sehr freundlich, die Zimmer sauber, lediglich eine Kakarlake.

L'albergo è molto carino, noi abbiamo scelto una camera vista mare assolutamente fantastica con una grande vetrata dalla quale potevamo vedere sorgere l'alba e guardare sempre l'oceano. La stanza era grande e soprattutto il letto molto confortevole con aria condizionata, anche il bagno spazioso e con phon. Il personale è gentilissimo soprattutto la manager fantastica e sempre disponibile per ogni tipo di richiesta. Sono stati tutti carini e simpatici. La colazione era deliziosa con frutta fresca e succhi fatti sul momento.
