Lovely view from my single room, infact that was the best part of the hotel, the room was modern and clean, but bathroom design was horrific I struggled to get in and out of the bathroom and the shower was the same. Coffee machine wasn’t working so they changed that on the second day. Also I had a foreign currency transaction fee for paying for the hotel, it was my first time in Switzerland and the hotel could have told me to pay in local currency to avoid that. There was one member of staff very helpful at reception but one didn’t really understand what I was asking but was polite nevertheless.

Hotel Des Alpes is the place to be in Luzern from the moment i arrived until i left. Everyone was nice and friendly, helpful and tryly made my stay unforgettable. The room i stayed in has a direct view of the Chapel.Bridge, its centrally located and close to everything. The restaurant on the first floor is amazing. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this storybook town!

Location and view amazing. No air conditioning in the room. Very hot so could not sleep. If you leave balcony door open there were bugs in the room. Floor fan only moved hot air around and it shut itself off every few hours. Had to get up many times during the night to turn it back on. Front desk staff just shrugged and said Switzerland doesn’t use AC. They need portable AC units in the rooms. Not just a fan.

I believe we had one of their best rooms with the large balcony overlooking the river. The size of the room was definitely larger than the others with two French doors leading to the balcony. The bathroom looks newly remodeled. Small shower, could use more than one towel bar and sink stopper to be able to fill sink with water. There is no AC in the hotel but they had a large Dyson fan. The location is close to a lot of boutiques and shopping along quaint cobblestone streets. Overall, we really liked it.

This is a notch above a hostel. Told historic building can not have AC. Interior was renovated - looks like IKEA, felt like I was sleeping in the attic. Dyson fan useless, entered room to find balcony doors closed, no air no screen. Remnants of dead mosquito on wall. Told this was nicest room- beautiful view of river & Chapel bridge, very close to train. When asked for robes & slippers told this is not a spa hotel, no shower cap instructed to go to store & buy it. If you are planning a visit in warm weather you will be miserable. I am well travelled but never encountered such rudeness on top of basic things being provided. Even the vouchers for breakfast if you order anything more than continental breakfast which is the only item that comes with unlimited coffee actually means 1 refill you will be charged exorbitantly

WOW I mean the views from this place cannot be beat. You absolutely MUST request a river facing room (you can see the beautiful snow capped mountains of Pilatus on a clear day). It is worth every penny. Additionally, your stay gets your a visitors pass with discounted rates on transport throughout the city. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind as well. We will DEFINITELY be coming back!

I had a great 3 night stay here! The front desk staff is extremely sweet and helpful. It was the perfect location, and very quiet even though it is right in the center of town! The only negative about the room is the heat doesn’t work that well. I am vegan and unfortunately the restaurant only offers vegetarian options, please consider adding a few vegan options especially for people with allergies! Overall I loved my stay here and I would definitely recommend it to others.

This property was in an excellent location! Very walkable and great views. The staff was also very kind. A couple of things that hold this property back is the super small and old elevator that seems like it could give out any minute. Another thing is the stale cigarette smoke that lingered throughout the hotel even with the doors shut and being in an non smoking room. And lastly, instead of breakfast being included they give you a voucher of £18.50 / person to go to their restaurant. It wasn't a bad breakfast but definitely not worth the price they have. Also to note- the bathroom is SO small. It feels like the bathroom is an old closet and they just shoved everything in and called it a day.

I’ve stayed here many times and you can’t beat the location for visiting Luzern. The hotel as completed renovations on about half of the building and is underway with the rest. Never heard any of the workers or work being done. The new rooms are awesome. The design and cosmetic works are well done. You will enjoy this hotel. Its pricing is great and only an 8 minute walk to the train station.

We really enjoyed the property and the area around the hotel! The one thing to improve is the cleanliness for the rooms facing the river or to post notice about these rooms. My wife and I are very sensitive to cigarette smoke, and even though the room was smoking free, the smoke from smokers on ground level was able to get into the room through the window even when it was closed. My wife needed cough medicine because her allergic reaction got very bad. We would return to the hotel at a non river view next time in the future. Other than this, the location is great!

room was small but clean and comfortable, I had reserved a room with a balcony but did not receive one. They did give me a breakfast voucher which was nice of the staff, it just covered it. It is a walkable area with historic sites. Not far from the train station and ferry. Overall property was very nice.

Really close to the main train station. Alleyways of shops and restaurants around hotel. The bridge is right there in front of hotel. The restaurant at hotel has great staff for breakfast.

I hope I could stay at Des Alpes again because it was the perfect place for me and my family to enjoy Lucerne. The view from the balcony couldn’t be beat. The food at breakfast was delicious. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The price was reasonable as well.
