It was extremely cold ( it actually hailed in the afternoon) and I had to ask for a second comforter - in addition to the extra blanket in the closet.

Staff was very nice. Hotel well maintained. Pub had good food and breakfast provided had a variety of options. We were nervous about driving between the 2 buildings (it was narrow) to get to the parking, but it wasn't too bad. Definitely would stay again.

Wonderful 2 night stay in a quaint village! Clean and spacious rooms. Excellent service with adjoining pub offering food. I was excited to discover that breakfast was included and it was excellent. Michael, the owner, was very hospitable and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

Historic charm you expect in Ireland however this hotel and the room was really worn. Single chair in the room was very stained and I did not want to sit on it. The room carpet looked dingy and I didn’t want to walk on it without shoes. Bed wasn’t very comfortable and pillows were poor. Breakfast was good, not great. Staff were friendly and there was plenty to eat.

Our room faced the street and there were loud trucks from 3am and we were able to hear people in the bar all night long and a loud crowd on the Main Street at 1:30am.

Walking around town very easy and close to abbey ruins and shops. I would look for other accommodations if I returned to Cong.

Ryan’s hotel was great at check in, no problems.
The rooms are basic and look like they have recently been decorated but decoration is a bit mismatched. I would say a bit more money spent on finishing touches would go a long way.
Very comfy bed and a good nights sleep.
Breakfast was fine, nothing special as its buffet. Hotel would probably score higher if they could serve individually but staff levels appeared low with the same helpful gent booking in, cooking and serving breakfast.
I would stay again.

The location was great. Parking was fine. Lighted sign just below window made for a bright room even with curtains closed. Street noise was annoying although it quieted about midnight. Tech plugs were good. Inside corridors were a bit of a maze. Back entrance from parking required steps as one entrance/exit was unavailable. Although it was a bit of a heat wave, windows made air flow quite limited. Proprietor was very polite and courteous at check in and breakfast. Breakfast was ok

We have just checked out of this beautiful hotel and couldn't have asked for a more perfect stay!

The staff are so friendly and can't do enough for you. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and has everything you need, the conjoined pub 'The Crows Nest' next door serves a fabulous menu and all the locals are very chatty and always so friendly.

We were sad to check out as we had such a wonderful two days but would love to return in the future!

The accommodations were perfectly fine—clean and comfortable if not extraordinary. But what makes Ryan’s Hotel such a great destination is the lovely village of Cong and the incredible staff. The gentlemen who checked me in and took care of me at breakfast the next morning were simply wonderful and charming, and very generous giving me options for how to enjoy the village and surrounding area. Furthermore, the breakfast spread was incredible. Continental style, but expansive and delicious. Great place!

In a lovely location, the staff are welcoming. The room was generously proportioned, but fittings are tired ( romote will not power off the TV, soap and gel fall through holder. With the window opened therevis evidence of thr frame not being cleaned! 😞

Nice people; especially Vickie in the bar & the gentleman that fixed our breakfast early! Room was small, but clean. Shower stall was very slippery. No lift, stairs easy to negotiate from rear patio. Entrance to car park very narrow by U.S. standards. No a/c and with window open, lots of loud street traffic noise from passing lorries.

Older building but kept tidy. We were driving and ample parking behind building, desk was unattended at our random arrival time but the bell summoned someone quickly and we were off to our room. Comfortable bed, nice shower pressure, could have used a small fan to circulate air better for sleeping comfort. Nice outside patio area for drinks or dinner as well as inside bar and restaurant. Food was adequate and service was friendly and efficient. Nice hot and cold breakfast included the next morning.

Our stay at the Ryan Hotel was terrific. We only stayed overnight, but the staff was so helpful. We arrived for a walking tour, and our room wasn't ready yet. But, they held our bags, and even carried them upstairs for us, as soon as the room was ready. The onsite restaurant/pub The Crow's Nest had good food. Cong is a small town so everything is walkable. The bust stop is located just outside the hotel doors. Our room wasn't air conditioned, but Cong is so peaceful and quiet, we slept well with the windows open for a breeze.

Cong is a quaint little town, according to the desk staff, they have a population of about 40. It is an island in the river. The food in the pub next to the hotel is excellent. The morning breakfast was very good. The people were great. There are a number of attractions close at hand. I spent most of my time and money buying woolens in a shop just down the street. Seventy some years ago \"The Quiet Man\" was filmed here and it ties into a number of the attractions. If you fish, this is the place.

This was an overnight stop chosen for convenient location & the fact that food was available in house as we did not know what to expect in the village.
It was certainly well situated and very convenient for all that Cong has to offer. There were loads of places to stay which appeared more attractive to us. Ryans public spaces seem in need of a refresh, dirty stair carpet and cooking aroma does not give a good impression.
We were made most welcome however and there is a pleasant outdoor seating area to the bar/restaurant.
Not many personal touches overall but outdoor floral baskets & containers were terrific.

Our family of 8 had a wonderful stay at Ryan’s Hotel. Dennis, Michael and Mary were so warm and welcoming and were communicative and helpful by email even before our group arrived.
Accommodations were clean and comfortable with a delicious, varied and substantial hot and cold breakfast offered each morning. The hotel is in the lovely and historic town of Cong and in great location for exploring the area. In the evenings after touring all day we enjoyed being able to eat at Crowe’s Nest pub on site or short walk to other restaurants/ pubs.
We stayed 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer.

We really enjoyed our stay in Cong generally and at Ryan's hotel particularly. Our room was large and well appointed we had a lovely view out over the river. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal in the bar and breakfast in the dinning room. The staff were all very attentive and helpful would recommend this hotel for both its quality food and the comfort of its rooms.

This is the second time we have stayed at Ryan’s Hotel and would fully recommend it. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and welcoming. Cong is a beautiful location and offers peaceful walks of the Abbey and Ashford Castle grounds but it’s also a great base for other activities and tours. We will definitely be back next year and staying at Ryan’s.

The room was small but very clean and updated. The service was fantastic. Den gave us great recommendation. Food at Crows nest was great, and breakfast was adequate. Everyone was really great. My only critique would be the carpet in the stairs and hallway was bit worn. I don’t like carpet in hotels. In general I wish all floors would be laminate. But the carpet in the room itself was clean and stain free. Special shout out to the housekeeping lady for doing our weeks worth of dirty clothes laundry. That was a great service, and she made our clothes smell lovely.
