The view is gorgeous around the property. The breakfast was well done, filling and protein packed. We found the mattress to be well worn and hard for our liking. A comfortable bed is a big deal to us now that we’re getting older.

The property was absolutely immaculate! Beautiful garden and great surroundings. Very big Welcome from the host, extremely clean comfortable rooms. Breakfast was always served with a heaping pit of the best tea and the biggest smile. Would absolutely go back again! Miss it already.

Very disappointed having stayed at other venues. The property was clean but so outdated and tired. Old blankets were used as bedding, no duvets. The en suite was very small and the shower cubicle I could never have used. I am not obese in any way. The tv had only two channels, BBC 1 and BBC 2. Sound was limited as you could hear people next door and upstairs. No tea or coffee making facilities. Full Irish breakfast did not include white or black pudding, mushrooms nor beans.

Having travelled for almost 3 hrs, we arrived at 14.55 only to be be told that check in was not until 16.00. We were told to go into the village for a coffee. I had not noticed any time to check in if there was one. I presumed it was 15.00.

We stayed only for one of the two nights booked and expect a refund of our second night.

The Waterfront House was an absolutely gorgeous property with a lake view and magnificent gardens. Our room was nicely furnished and very clean. Our host was welcoming and very gracious. The continental breakfast was average with croissants, toast and brown bread, butter and jam. The boats pictured on the website are not available for guests to use. That was a bit of a disappointment. I would stay here again.

This was our favorite stay on our trip. Beautiful surroundings. Our host was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast delicious. View from our window was lovely. We went for a walk to nearby castle and enjoy it. Thank you.

Mary made sure we were comfortable at her charming bnb. The view was beautiful and the room we had was just the right size for our family of 4. Breakfast was delicious. Mary also went the extra mile to share suggestions about the area and how to make the most of our visit. We loved the unique flare and style of the bnb and would recommend for others to stay here, especially if you want something quiet and private.

The room has very thin walls where we could hear someone snoring all evening from another room also walking on the top floor. Upon arrival I had to ask for new towels as they smelled moldy/dirty. To add to it the shower had black mold on the top portion.

During breakfast, my husband and I wanted to sit side by side to look out the window and we were told we could not even tho the dining area had only one other couple.

Fantastic place to stay, Mary and Tom made us so welcome. Mary , when asked, told us of interesting places to visit, and never disappointed us. She also gave us names of places to eat. Couldn’t have asked for better! Beautiful location, with the water from Lough Corrine lapping and sparkling so beautifully. Loved it, miss it!

A Base for Touring the Connemara

We stayed at the Waterfront House our first two nights after arriving in Ireland. It's over 1km further once you turn off at the Oughterard golf course; pretty much the last house at the end of the road. We found it to be excellent value for money. The property is clean and tidy and quiet. Mary provided a quality breakfast and gave us excellent suggestions for local restaurants and touring around the Connemara peninsula.
The ensuite in our room was a bit cramped, but that was my only criticism.

Mary was friendly but direct. Breakfast was great with many breads and rolls. It is down a narrow dirt road and peaceful overlooking Lough Corrib. Pubs recommended by Mary were excellent. Rooms were a bit cramped with luggage but comfortable.

Peaceful, serene...

Off the main road enough to be quiet, situated on the lake, within walking distance of castle ruins and only a short ride to Ougtherard, very nice rooms with country and lake views and incredible hosts... not sure why anyone would go elsewhere. I was there 10 days and hope to return some time in the future with friends and family. Thank you Tom & Mary for helping to make my stay there comfortable.

I was working so I just went out sightseeing one day but when I asked about things to do Mary provided all I needed. I drove to Cong (and it was a lovely town) as one of my favorite movies is The Quiet Man which was filmed in that area. What did I not see! I saw castles, lovely church ruins, an old, quaint and beautiful town filled with warmth. Went shopping and was able to purchase Aran wool sweaters. Leaving there I drove around the Catamaran (not sure if I have that name right) Park to the coast and to Cliford (for a walk along the coastal trial and then stopped off in Oughterard for supper at a local restaurant and pub. If you wanted the bustle of the city you could go to Galaway. But I prefer simpler places with rich history and that is scattered all around the Waterfront.

Remarkable. You can see God's hand all over the countryside. Thank you Mary & Tom for EVERYTHING!!!

The place is lovely, like staying in someone's home. Very personal feel. Lovely breakfast. It's not walking distance to the village though, so if you wanted to go out for a meal and a drink you have to get a taxi. On the info on Hotels.com it says that this place has a bar. It does not. At all. Just a breakfast room. Which is lovely, but I was looking forward to a night drink. I had to get a 4 pack of cheap lager and drink it in the room.

A Home From Home

Mary was an absolute gem so helpful nothing any problem to her took time in her busy life to talk to everyone telling of places of intetest to visit and giving directions how to get there. The rooms were immaculate as the rest of the house so inviting and welcoming. Restful, pleasant waterfront property.

I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is at the end of a rural lane, located on a large tranquil lake.
Fishing/and row boats are available for use.
The owner is a delightful lady who exudes a helpful and pleasant attitude.
The breakfast was excellent.
A quiet, restful and peaceful impression lingers.
My only reservation, and it is not a deal stopper, is that the room was somewhat cramped. Three people with luggage was really crowded.
Parking is conveniently available.
Above average restaurants and tars available in town. Excellent experience.

Mary was the perfect hostess. Nothing was a trouble to her....she was helpful but not intrusive. The Waterfront does not lie....what a beautiful view of Lough Corrib from our room and from the terrace. Peaceful yet not too far from the buzz of Oughterard (Mary can organise taxi for 20 euros return) Mary also organised a fishing trip for another group whilst we were there and is willing to help with any advice of where to go and what to do. Breakfast was delicious....as well as full Irish there were homemade scones/pancakes/fresh bread as well as fresh orange juice, cereal etc. Definitely the place to stay if you want to visit this delightful area.

Die Straße wurde immer schmaler und schien ins nirgendwo zu führen. Sie brachte uns zu einem idyllisch gelegenen B&B mit netter Herbergsmutter.
Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. Das Frühstück war lecker und ausreichend.

Ro, fred og bølgeskvulp.

Fantastisk beliggenhed. Ro og fred helt uden trafikstøj eller andre gener. Når man åbnede et vindue eller satte sig udenfor, var det eneste man hørte bølgeskvulp fra søen. Huset lå helt nede ved søen, for enden af en ca. 2 km lang Mark/Skovvej. Men der var kun 5 min. kørsel ind til den lille hyggelige by med gode spisesteder.

Check In var nemt og hurtigt, og værtinden var sød og hjælpsom mht. hvad man skulle se i området.

Værelset var lidt lydt om natten, når andre var på toilet, snorkede osv. Men det var ikke noget større problem for os. Men gør jer selv den tjeneste at booke et værelse med søudsigt. Det er bare så smukt.

Un séjour impeccable! Situé à environ une heure du Connemara, 30 min de Galway et 45 min du Kylemore Abbey. Les petits déjeuners sont excellents et rapides. L’hôte Mary est chaleureuse et toujours disponible pour répondre à nos questions. Les lits sont confortables, nous avons très bien dormi dans ce petit coin très tranquille de l’Ouest de l’Irlande. Vraiment très bien!
