I upgraded our room at check in. We were initially booked on the rustic side of the hotel…according to front desk. She recommended the renovated side, which I happily agreed to. We had a river view and quiet surroundings. Restaurant is fabulous….property is beautiful.

The room was very nice with a lovely view out to the river. Did not appreciate the sewage pumper truck clearing the catchment drain at 8:00 AM right outside our room - extremely noisy! The staff were all very helpful. Would come again.

Great stay with hiking and biking trails and fire pits on the property. The hotel is quite old but has a nice mountain vibe. It’s nice to sit in the lobby with the huge fireplace and have drinks. Unfortunately the heater in our room was constantly on even we had the setting on off, so the room was too hot. Otherwise, a very nice weekend. We will come back.

Great hotel for families, lots of activities onsite. Cozy reception area with log fire. Friendly and welcoming staff. Our room was a little dated and could use an upgrade for sure, but enjoyed the charm of it nonetheless. The brunch was excellent. The only downside was the pool area and pool water was cold, I did not enjoy it. It didn’t bother my kids though.

The room is still outdated even though their website says they have done renovations. Still looks the same as 25 years ago. The mattress was soft and not the most comfortable. For $600/night, we expected better. We ordered in room service (Wagyu burger and filet mignon) and both were excellent.

We really enjoyed our stay and loved the cozy atmosphere. Reading a book by the fireplace in the common area was especially relaxing. The staff were very friendly and professional.
The breakfast buffet also offers a wide and enjoyable variety of choices.

The only comment I would make is that the restaurant seemed understaffed. For dinner, It took quite a long time for our main dish to arrive, and a second drink I ordered was forgotten, so I never ended up receiving it by the time it was remembered.

Spacious room with river view. Lovely and clean. Well maintained by house keeping. Excellent breakfast buffet. Good value considering all of the first rate options available. Really enjoyed the pool. 23 m makes it great for swimming laps. The pool house is a beautiful timber structure with very high painted ceiling. Lots of loungers. Comfortable temperatures in and out of the water. Really enjoyed the trails on the property. Saw a beautiful red fox. Lots of deer tracks. Quiet and beautiful with a light snow fall. The grand lobby was decorated for Christmas. Very festive with twinkling lights and lots of decorated trees. A lovely pre Christmas getaway!

Very safe parking area not far from bldg. swimming pool and hot tub perfect. Tennis court inside surface not playable for tennis and pickleball.
Staff all very friendly and helpful. Room and bed very comfortable and quiet, renovated bathroom large and exceptionally good. Lovely grounds for walking by the river. Central fireplace in lobby is a great place for sitting and reading.

Très bel endroit, le personnel est gentil et attentionné. Les lieux sont beaux et parfait pour s’y promener et apprécier la nature. Cependant, pour ce qui est de la chambre, c’est très très décevant. À presque $500/nuit, avoir des tapis pleins de taches et usées, c’est innaceptable. Il y a aussi beaucoup de cognements de plomberie qui rends le séjour et les nuits désagréables. Le lit et les oreillers sont aussi à remplacer. Manger sur place aux Chantignoles fut cependant excellent. Prévoyez au minimum $150/pers. sans alcool/vin. Au final, nous n’y retournerons pas.

The property view of the Ottawa river was picturesque. The grounds were nice and seating along the path overlooking the river was a relaxing place.
The hotel provided a rustic old canadiana feel and charm.
The washroom in the hotel room is small and needs an update. The view of the river was nice, but overall the room felt dark and gloomy. The carpeting in the room was not flat in some areas.
More snack options at the bar, as was available for room service would be a good idea.
We waited for a shuttle to bring us back to the hotel from the golf club house. It never came!
Overall, we had a wonderful relaxing weekend. It would be nice to have more evening activities or music to entertain the guests.
The buffet breakfast was delicious! Staff very friendly!

We paid extra to book a jacuzzi room but on arrival found that the room was on the basement level with no windows. We asked to switch to a different room and were informed by the staff that the price difference will be refunded. We spoke to Expedia and clearly they came back to dispute that the hotel will not refund the difference. I am not sure who is lying but this has left a not very nice feeling. Otherwise the hotel was fine and comfortable.

A 5 star rated property that needs updating badly, room was rather shabby and not up to a 5 star standard, bathroom badly needed refurbishment and the room was excessively cold as the a/c was as old and the temperature couldn’t be altered,
unfortunately it was cold at night we were unable to get any heat out of it.
On a positive note the grounds and facilities were excellent and there are plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained, but boy does this property need a
major renovation.

It was our first time at Fairmont Montebello and it was wonderful. The property is gorgeous and there is so much to do. The restaurants are great and the staff are really amazing. We went for a mini break and felt relaxed within about 30 seconds of arriving. The Grill restaurant is truly fantastic!

The Fairmont Montebello exceeded our expectations. From easy check in and parking to well kept gardens and impressive lobby ( and convenient bar. The pools both inside and out were never too busy and there were ample activities. The food options were ample and food was delicious. If you needed a break from the resort, the town was walkable with more food options, including a local Fromagerie. The spa was relaxing and a nice escape from all the activities and heat. Lastly the staff were all so good to us, even down to the Fairmont dog Vic! Merci!

Amazing historic, classic hotel and club with many things to do for kids and adults alike! It was quite an introduction to Quebec for me. Both the inside of the hotel and the grounds were lovely. The canoeing/kayaking was amazing, not too busy, and a nice touch being included in your stay! Gorgeous hiking/running trails which include both opportunities to see wildlife and a historic mansion (Manoir Papineau).

Loved the overall experience of staying in a log cabin. It qas a romantic thrill which is timeless! We found it odd, however, thatvthe pool bar closed an hour prior to the pool closing. Given that this is a Fairmont property which focuses on hospitality, I'm surprised that the pool closed so early and didn’t align with the timing of the bar closure. And a Fairmont hotel should never run out of pool towels, ever. The BBQ grill dinner was fine but service tended to be on the slow side, but this could have just been an exception. That said, we rave about this place and will stay again without hesitation.

I did not liked that the mattress was horrible, room had no AC, coffee maker did not work properly, coffee was missing already in the box, and no accommodations so we can have breakfast when we asked for a spot on the patio, so we could have the dog with us. Paid 580 $ for one night, it is the worst experience we had so far!.

One thing that would be helpful for guests arriving on a Sunday is to let them know what is open on the weekends only such as the outdoor pool and the Papineau museum. Also having a menu for some basic items such as a pizza or burger would be a good idea. Thanks. We hope to be back in the fall

The chateau is still an amazing location and the building itself is very impressive, but it needs a lot of updates and service was ok - definitively not worth the cost of 1 night to stay there. For example, bathroom are very tiny, the parking lot is a mess with potholes every where and while we were told we would get a text when our room was ready, we never did and ended up back in line to find out whether it was. There are also no lines identified at the service desk, which created an issue with people cutting in front of the line and when a guest informed the employee at the service desk, she was basically told that there was nothing they could do to fix it. Unless you book for a few days and really get to use the facilities, do not stay there.
