BEWARE!
Booked a twin bedded room, but on arrival given a double bed. No alternative offered so as two same sex friends, I had to spend an uncomfortable night on the floor until 2 single beds were provided the following day. This establishment pretends to be a hotel, but is merely a group of rooms up one and two steep flights of stairs above an unconnected restaurant below. There is no lift other than a disabled stairlift to the first floor. It is therefore almost impossible to carry any heavy luggage up or down the steep stairs. There are no facilities in the \"hotel\" other than a tiny breakfast room, which cannot accommodate staying guests at the same time. The picture of the dining room in the description is false, as are I suspect many of the positive reviews of this establishment?? The minibar described in the facilities is merely a fridge. Threre is no way that this accommodation can be described as a 3 star hotel. The only positive description that can be made is that it is clean and in close proximity to the Lido ferry terminal.

I have stayed many times at the Hotel Giardinetto and it has always been a fabulous experience and unbeatable value for money. The location is ideal, right next to the vaporetto stop for easy access into the city, and within a few minutes walk to Lido's beaches. The rooms are clean and well equipped - many with views across the lagoon towards the city, and the staff are always helpful.

Really enjoyed our time there. Loved the smiles and service that the stafff gave. Made us cappucinnos which was good quality in the morning. It is in Lido (last ferry stop) so it's situated far from touristy areas, if you like that. The room like most Italian budget friendly stays are small but adequate. There seems to be a bit of slant on the flooring, a little uneven, but it did not affect our sleep.

Very pleasant small hotel facing the Venice lagoon and opposite the main vaporetto stops. Only 10 mins by vaporetto from St Mark's Square .

Not a 3 star hotel - avoid
Overall, beware that this is NOT a hotel but a badly run B&B. It is cheap-ish for Venice but you get what you pay for. Pay a bit extra and go somewhere else. I would not stay here again. Details below.

- Location: You can see the vaparetto stop from the hotel window. You will be getting on at the first stop of the vaparetto so always guaranteed a seat. There are lots of nice restaurants nearby that are reasonably priced.

Very pleasant hotel with great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Location very close to water taxis and beautiful beach for when you need a break from sightseeing. Room could have had tea and coffee making facilities and only one plug socket was not helpful but overall I would recommend.

The location is good if you don’t mind being on top of a noisy bus stop. There are no amenities, no reception on arrival (key in an envelope) and the room 102 is claustrophobic, small and dark. We asked for the safe to be re-opened and for the room to be sprayed for the multiple mosquitoes but the staff did not see to it before we left. I would not recommend this hotel even at a cheap rate.

Great little hotel, spotlessly clean, very near the boat stop, but at night you get no noise thanks to the good double glazing, 10 mins walk to the free part of the beach. Simply continental breakfast is included with juice, cereal, pastries, cheese, meats, yoghurt, hot drinks are made to order. Would definitely stay again

Nice hotel only problem was stated that there was air conditioning but then advised that it was not available in April due to law restrictions have not been able to find anything on this so let down as noisy area due to windows being opened. This should be stated on Hotels.com and hotel website

Very well organised so even with our late arrival everything was ready for us. Easy 5 min commute to central Venice and Lido is very relaxed. On our leaving morning the hotel already had our return water taxi confirmed and waiting for us. Absolute delight, we would definitely stay again.

Great location, right next to the water bus stop. Excellent room with a with a dressing room that had a sofa chair, ideal for a family of 3! Lovely 'breakfast lady' who was very friendly and helpful, remembered our prefered drinks. Its location means that you can escape the hustle of Venice 'mainland' of an evening and find a quiet place for dinner.

Nice, budget stay on The Lido
I stayed here for six nights during my first visit to Venice. I booked late and hotels on the Lido offered the best value from what was available. Service was outstanding, breakfast was standard continental fare. The room was small, with a bathroom/shower and only enough room for a double-bed and armoire. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. I slept well. For first time visitors - it was a bit warm for early fall and so I opened a window rather than use the a/c - no screens! Woke up with 18 mosquito bites. I used the a/c from then on and don't blame the hotel, but lesson learned!

Lovely, modern hotel in a great location
This hotel is small and run by some genuinely caring staff who are happy to help whenever you ask. The rooms are modern and well decorated, offering a beautiful view across the water and looking at the city of Venice. The only downside was a rather small bathroom. The location is excellent, with the boats only a few steps from the hotel, and the main street (Santa Maria Elisabetta) about 30 seconds walk away. The beach is also close by, taking around 10 minutes or less to walk.

This small hotel has an excellent location on the Lido opposite the waterbus stop. This gives great views towards St Mark's with easy access to Venice and the airport. Ideal to escape the hustle, bustle and heat of Venice in the summer. A 10 minute walk to the beach gives you the opportunity to combine city and beach. Rooms are comfortable with excellent air con. Staff at the hotel are very friendly and responsive to any questions. A great hotel to stay in when visiting Venice.

Overall, a pleasant stay. Comfortable and clean room: bathroom was very clean but was very small! Breakfast was simple. No front desk service after 9.30 pm-you need a code to enter the hotel. Opposite public boat transport stop (lido) to many Venice destinations and the airport boat also stops here. Reasonable value.

Just loved the location as it was just opposite bus/boat terminals. We asked for a room with lagoon view and were not disappointed,the view was spectacular! Nice comfortable room, clean and good air con only bathroom was a bit small but that wasnt a problem for us. We would definitely return to this hotel.

Whilst some rooms have a pleasant view across the water to Venice, with the windows open at night (because the air conditioning was not working) it is very noisy, as you are very close to the major bus stops and ferry port, which runs all night.

The hotel itself was good. But Lido is not too close from Venice proper and each boat ride to Venice is 7.50 Euros One way. So unless you buy a Venice ACTV pass and also have the time to spare, choose a place on the main island i.e Venice. This hotel was good value for money though

The only positive is location. Its right in front of the ferry terminal. Otherwise, room was uncomfortable and dirty. My pillow had holes, it was disgustingly old. The bathroom is so tiny, you can barely move. On top of it, it was dirty (the toilet seat had stains and hair on it). The receptionist cleaned the toilet for us and made a note for the housekeepers. The breakfast had very limited options and was only for the early risers. God forbid you are 30 minutes late and you can have hard flavorless croissants. The breakfast server wasn't welcoming, just looked annoyed. Cappuccino was served cold. Overall, I wouldn't go back even for the location.

Very conveniently located right across the water bus station; hotel staff was very cooperative and willing to help to make sure that your stay is comfortable; local buses to visit the LIDO island are available right across the hotel; breakfast was good; If someone arrives at the St. Lucia central terminal station by train, or Venice airport, I will advise to purchase 24 hours or 48 hours pass which is good for unlimited rides on any water bus ride or local buses on any island in Venice. This makes it easier to come to the hotel as many times as you wish to do so.

Location could not be better, and enjoyed a more relaxed atmosphere while staying on the Lido of Venice. Breakfast was good and included lunch meat, cheese, variety of breads and pastries plus freshly made coffee. Staff were friendly. Only complaint was a noise that kept sounding when the a/c was turned on, didn't mind in the daytime but at night turned it off because sensitive to sounds. A/c wasn't needed at night but other times of year might be an issue. It did blow cold air. Good restaurants and grocery store nearby.

The Hotel Giardinetto on Lido is a nice place to stay when visiting Venice. Located beside the water taxi it provides easy access to Venice, with pricing that is much more affordable than the hotels in Venice. Also, Lido has very nice beaches. Lovely little hotel, great location
Hotel Giardinetto was everything we hoped it would be - ideally located opposite the vaporetto station with easy links to Venice and the islands, good value, clean, comfortable and very welcoming. We were given a twin room and lagoon view as requested and the staff were very willing to offer advice when asked, but unobtrusive at the same time. The continental breakfast was plentiful and suited us fine. We would happily do the same trip, same hotel all over again!

Do stay at Giardinetto. I can say the usual (and true) things, that the location on the Lido was the right compromise between spacious beauty and a brief vaporetto into Venice proper. The four of us were so glad we made that choice. The hotel was charming as well. But the important thing I want to do is praise the staff for the kindness and their help. Dumb me, I left my cell phone behind--well they got it back to me by mail and even carried the charges themselves rather than passing them on to me. Really dear people--thanks,Elisa and Dalila!

A delightful stay
This was a delightful hotel on a delightful island, Lido. The island was a sea of tranquility in Venice. The streets were easy to walk and we found a wonderful pizza place. The Vaporretti was just across the street from the hotel. The hotel was small, quite and very comfortable. We hated to leave.

Lovely hotel with amazing reception staff that were really accommodating. Let us leave luggage as we had a late flight home so we could fit in the beach in the morning. Always plenty for breakfast. Good freshly baked rolls and nice espresso ☺

We loved this hotel. The hotel staff was very friendly. The room was very nice and clean with good wifi, but it was very small. The location is great (right across the street from the water bus/taxi). The hotel is also only about a 10 minute walk from the beach. The free breakfast is also very good. We would definitely stay here again.

A great hotel with very helpful staff in a very convenient location right by the vaporetto stop on the Lido. Ten minutes walk to the beach and a fifteen minute wonderful vaporetto ride to St Mark's Sq; the best of both worlds. The 60 euro cost for a week pass for the vaporetto is more than compensated for by the cost of the hotel, restaurants and bars on the Lido.

Best Value for your Money!
We decided to stay on Lido of Venice instead of Venice itself. And it was a good choice. As we arrived with our car, we took the ferry from Tronchetto. The first night we had to park the car on the street (you have to pay EUR 1.20 between 8am and 8pm), afterwards we were allowed to park our car for free at the Marea Partner Hotel on the Lido. The Vaporetto Station for the main line is right in front of the hotel and you reach the centre of Venice in about 15 minutes. The Vaporettos depart every 20 Minutes up late in the evening. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast offers a good choice and is much better than the italian standard (note: the average italian takes an espresso and a brioche as breakfast). The room is in a very good condition, we had one with a view over Venice. The bath room is very small and if you shower too long, the water will overflow. If we'll ever be back in Venice, we will surely choose Giardinetto again!! Thank you very much!

It just finished renovation building, so room was quiet clean and new. But one thing... Shows room has little problem. All water leaked to bathroom, so I used couple bath towel to wipe floor after shower. Water came to toilet... And breakfast was little simple... But location and stuff and facilities, total was great. Especially location! If I have next chance, I will stay there again!

Nice location, but noisy at night!
Close to the ferries. For not being on the main island, the room rate was reasonable. Wish there was an elevator. I was so tired from walking around, I wanted to go to bed early, but both nights, there was screaming and partying from the restaurant/bar below. The town on this island is lovely. A walk down the main street was so enjoyable. So many gelatos and restaurants to choose from. Also enjoyed all the retail shops. Something for everyone.

Good location nearby ferry good breakfast internet was a bit spotty and slow in our room room was also not large (little space to stand) but most of the rooms were newly renovated. Given the price it was overall quite good.

The property was nice and maintained, it is the hotel which gives you clean views of the water and the edge of Marina. The Hotel staff was super nice and helpful in getting us Water Taxi early at around 4:30 AM and also make breakfast and hot tea. They gave us guidance around navigating Venice and eating at correct places. Would stay there in a heart beat.

Excellent location next to the lagoon so very easy to get around by Vaporetto. Hotel small and friendly, felt welcoming and quiet. Breakfast is basic fare, so may disappoint those who like to eat enough to keep them going all day, but we were quiet happy, and who doesn't want to enjoy a pizza and salad lunch in the early afternoon?
We really enjoyed the contrast of staying on the Lido with its more relaxed atmosphere and travelling across the lagoon each day. Would definitely stay here again. Peggy Guggenheim museum well worth a visit!

I recently stayed at this hotel while visiting Venice. The hotel is located on the Lido and very convenient for visiting all parts of Venice. If I was visiting Venice again I would certainly chose this hotel as it was excellent.
The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. At check-in they provided me with a map of Venice, the vaporetto lines between the Lido and Venice and also some good local restaurants.

NOT recommend
The hotel was nice but the staff is what was lacking. They were not friendly to my husband and I during our stay. No greetings when we walked by and overall unkindness to visitors. On our last day, our bags were packed but we wanted to go to the beach one last time before it was time to leave. They would not even let me borrow a towel to take, knowing we would return with it since they were holding our bags. I would NOT recommend this hotel based on customer service alone.

Very helpful staff providing useful information when asked. The surrounding area will be much improved when the work to pave the square outside the hotel is finished. Although just by the vaporetto stop it was not at all noisy, in fact after a day on your feet in Venice you would not want to walk much further. Also very convenient for getting to and from the airport.

Breakfast was adequate, but a little fresh fruit instead of canned fruit salad would do alot to improve the breakfast experience.Very well located across the road from Vaporetta stops and 10 minutes to the beach, with more than sufficient restaurants within a very few minutes walk .Being in the Lido it would have been nice to have somewhere to hang wet bathers and beach towels when returning from the beach.

Our room was facing front with a great view across to Venice. Location was great for water transport. The bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen - I could put my arms out and put the palms of my hands onto the walls. Tiny! The air conditioning was a bit noisy. Breakfast was ok. The bed was comfy. No elevator.

Everything was very nice and comfortable. Very easy to take the water taxi to and from Venice, near some good shopping in Lido, good breakfast and pleasant staff. FYI - there is no elevator and all of the rooms are not at the ground level.
