Unfortunately there’s a problem with the air conditioning but we weren’t told about it until 10pm that night. I first phoned reception at 4pm and I also went down to speak to them; nobody was able to help us or even give us a fan for our room. Disappointed.

We were really disappointed with our stay. The hotel is very dated and in need of a serious refresh. Our room had a musty smell with a slight urine odor that never really went away. The tops of surfaces, including the safe, were coated in dust, which made it feel like the room hadn’t been properly cleaned in some time.
We also encountered pests during our short stay. We killed two cockroaches and several smaller bugs in the room, which was extremely unsettling.
We didn’t try the Italian or Chinese restaurants, so I can’t comment on those. The “coffee shop” was also confusing and not at all what we expected. There was no actual counter to order coffee. It appeared to simply be the large room where the breakfast buffet is served.
We were originally booked for two nights but decided to leave after the first night. Unfortunately, we would not stay here again.

Krungsree hotel looks like a lavish large hotel from 1980s era. While it is nice clean big but it looks dated in comparison to modern hotel expectations.. A simple half litre water bottle will be charged. The rooms are all good , clean. Breakfast is lavish, large spread, although not to the likings of a typical indian vegetarian taste. Hasgood parking space for both cars as well as scooters.

During my stay, I discovered that the shampoo bottle in the bathroom was damaged, causing leakage and making it very inconvenient to use. I wonder why the housekeeping team did not check the shampoo bottles before the guests checked in. I promptly reported the issue to the front desk, they send someone change immediately ,but upon check-out, I was asked to pay 150 baht for the damaged bottle and 100 baht for the towel cleaning fee.

After explaining the situation to the manager, they only waived the towel fee. However, this handling and the unpleasant communication process did indeed affect my overall experience. I hope the hotel can conduct more thorough inspections of room facilities and ensure staff provide more professional and respectful service, along with showing more understanding and flexibility in customer communication to prevent similar issues from occurring in the future.

Additionally, I requested an extra bed, but the front desk staff responded very rudely, asking me if I wanted it \"now,\" and when I asked if that was possible, she didn't respond. I had to ask three times , other staff come to said yes to me . This kind of attitude from the staff was very disappointing, especially considering it was around 9 PM, not late at all.

Good hotel

I think Krungsri is the only 4 star hotel in Ayutthaya. Just 10 mins walk from Ayutthaya railway station. Good hotel on the outside of Ayutthaya Island. To get to Ayutthaya historical park, you take a tuk tuk for 100 to 200 baht. Alternative you walk to the station ferry pier and take the ferry across to Ayutthaya Island for 10 baht per person and walk 30 mins. Excellent breakfast. Good size quiet room. Only complaint about the room is insufficient power points for charging phones.

Nice rooms but there are Bridge works adjacent but there is a pedestrian route through the bollards to walk over the river.
Breakfast doesn’t have much hot food for vegetarians. Pool too cold to get into.

The Hotel is well appointed & the Staff are Cheerful, courteous & ever ready to assist.
The Chinese Restaurant in the Hotel is 1st rate & there are [Local] dining options within walking distance.

Staff was excellent. The room was very clean. We could not get hot water to shower but the warm water was OK for Thailand. The breakfast bar was very good. The restrurant serves good food with many choices and maybe the best cheese burger in Thailand.

Wonderful old timey style room. It was very nice and clean, however it did feel a bit out dated. The bed was stiff and sheets were scratchy. The shower took awhile to heat up, and the air was slow to cool. There was also a loud band playing outside until around 10-11pm.

It's a wonderful property, but in desperate need of updates.

Pitiful western choice's for breakfast in the Pa Sak Coffee shop restaurant. Lazy room service, had to ask for teabags and to replenish the water. The bathroom appears to be upgraded as from the previous reviews which is a positive but the beds and pillows are very hard and uncomfortable. The Lieto restaurant and Pub is closed. The Chinese restaurant Gu-Cherng is excellent. The traditional thai restaurant Suan Rim Num is in an outdoor area which is nice at night. Another positive were the young man and woman who made great cocktails for us at the small cafe/bar in the Lobby area. All restaurants open at 5pm and we couldn't see any lunch availability. The reception staff are incredibly rude and unhelpful. Total waste of time asking them about anything, you may as well go and ask the Tuk Tuk drivers on the road because they are helpful.

Catering mainly for Asian tourists as reflected in the buffet breakfast.
Bathroom dated with a plastic shower screen on a shower in the bath tub,which took an age to drain,as did the sink.
Staff generally not the friendliest although it was impossible to tell if they were smiling as they were all fully masked up a year after the rest of the world stopped wearing them

I was very pleased with our room and the free buffet breakfasts were sufficient, although not the best selection I've ever had. Our room wasn't the cleanest and the floor could have used a mopping now and again, but over-all it was large and comfortable and inviting, especially after spending the hot and humid days touring all the ancient temple ruins that Ayutthaya has to offer. I enjoyed the wonderful infinity pool located on the 5th floor, as it was cool and refreshing after our day-long temple ruin tours.

Overdue for a renovation

Krug Sri River Hotel is definitely showing its age, and is way overdue for a renovation. Rooms still have bathtubs instead of walk-in showers. Electric outlets are a rarity, so charging your devices is a hassle. Carpets in the hallways are old, wavy, and dirty. But one of the biggest nuisances is the fact that the elevator does not come down to the 1st floor in the evening. This is probably for security reasons, but a big inconvenience if you dine in the restaurant and have difficulties climbing stairs.

I have marked down on service...

1) Dining, only the Italian restaurant open (understandable and not a problem). Presented with and chose from the Italian menu. During the meal, it was noticeable that Thai customers were reading from a different menu. It transpires, three menus were available, Chinese food, Italian food and Thai food. The waiting staff decided that because I spoke English, I wanted the Italian menu. At no point were we informed of the options.

2) Despite the Hotel highlighting staff speak Thai and English, whenever I spoke (to the staff) they immediately looked at my wife (she is Thai) conversed with her and totally ignored me.

3) Checkout, I did it solo and was left standing (for what seemed an eternity) whilst the receptionist tried to contact somebody to check the room. Whilst waiting, a Thai person requested check out, they were spoken to and invited to take a seat whilst the waiting for the room to be checked.

We have been married 14 years and I know the difficulty my Thai wife has had conversing in English. I struggle trying to learn conversational Thai - here's the thing, conversing is the way to improve spoken language skills, particularly with a native speaker.

Please do not bother apologising, it will only make you feel better. I have no intention of darkening the doorways of this Hotel.

Overall the stay was fine. I found the beds not as comfortable as most hotels I stay in. The hallways and paint looked a a bit old and warn. The location was excellent and the breakfast very nice with a lot of items to choose from. Unfortunately when you eat at the riverside restaurant in the evening there were many very noisy tug boats pulling barges, so loud it made it difficult to hear the live music.

A large room that provided two chairs for relaxing, much better than other hotels that only provide one comfortable arm chair and if you are lucky a desk chair. Breakfast buffet was adequate but basic. The wifi logged you out within 1 -2 minutes. You literally did not have time to send an email after composing it while on-line. The pool was excellent and opened until 10p.m.

Stayed here several times due to personal connections and business in Ayutthaya. Property is a bit dated, but a generally pleasant older Thai hotel. Not a lot of choices of upscale hotels in Ayutthaya, if that is what you are looking for (and what is there is often filled up by Japanese traveling for Japanese run factories in the area). This is one of the nicer hotels.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel, however the location is not walking friendly to the local areas as one has to tackle the overpass and roundabout. As a result we eat at the hotel, just one word.Expensive! The massages were quoted at almost 3 times as one would get outside. As a result we did not get any!

The hotel was a bit difficult to get to by car and although on the riverside, the views were not picturesque. The services were good and to 4* standard and the room was comfortable and clean.
The buffet breakfast and buffet lunch were very good. The front desk staff and other services were not well attuned to providing tourist advice and could not handle our request for booking tours of the city and ancient ruins.

Needs updating - Could be a great hotel

This hotel was in a good location, but needs a lot of updating. The pictures are not anything like the actual rooms. The lobby is updated, but the floors and rooms feel like you are in a time warp. When we first arrived to our room, the door knob fell off and so did the faucet when we tuned it on. We had to laugh about it because it was the last leg of our trip. The beds were very uncomfortable! I had slept on a cot the night before in Krabi, and the cot was more comfortable than the twin bed provided.

Pretty good hotel, but the building felt a little old and there were some obvious places that it needed maintenance (What was that mysterious compartment above the shower where the light occasionally turned on?). The mattresses in my rooms were a bit hard, but not bad. Overall, not bad.

Extremely poor reception team.

The hotel facilities were as expected, the standards of the daily room service was very impressive, the disappointment was the reception team on arrival our booking in experience was extremely poor and unfortunately this experience was repeated when checking out, the reception team seemed to have the attitude that i was an inconvenience to them, based upon the reception team i cannot recommend this hotel and will not be returning.

Nice Riverfront Hotel

Very nice hotel. Hotel property is very pretty and has areas where you can relax along the river. Rooms are a little outdated but are a nice size and very comfortable. Most rooms have at least a partial view of the river. Refrigerator in room is nice. Location is close to many things, but not very good if you want to walk. Not much within 5 minutes walk, but there are convenience stores and a lovely, historic Wat within a few hundred meters. Swimming pool is very nice. We used it a lot. The breakfast buffet was included in our rate. Many of the choices are Thai breakfast items, but there are 3 or 4 large tables filled with options, several of them western. You couldn't possibly sample everything. Nice baked goods. A lot of fresh fruit. A salad section. Very nicely done. Tried the Italian restaurant onsite. It's ok, but it's Thailand, so it's silly to expect to find excellent Italian food here. A bit pricey. We didn't try the lounge, karaoke, massage or bowling areas. Liked this hotel and we will return.

the best hotel in Ayutthaya

It is the best hotel you can find in a old two such Ayutthaya. It is located very close to train station and only 5 minutes walking to the town centre crossing the river thought a small boat. ( 5 bth every way). The only issue I had was the internet connection. Regarding the others facilities the hotel has three different restaurants, bowling, nice breakfast, nice and relaxed swimming pool and gym. I will recommend this hotel.

Cannot fault my stay...hotel short walk from train station...looks recently renovated...clean and attractive in a good spot....room very good...food and bar very good...very good service from all...close to sum nice little restaurants....hired bike close by...songtow on same road...very accessible to temples and shops...and a good price/discounted online....would certainly will stay there again:-)

Pleasant stay in large hotel close to train statio

One night stay to allow us to see Ayutthaya before continuing on the train to Sukkothai. The hotel was close to the train station and the old city. Our stay was comfortable, the breakfast was a huge buffet feast. The hotel itself is starting to show its age and could use some work, but all in all, a pleasant stay.

Hotel is a bit dated and quite expensive for what it is. Staff were friendly and helpful and buffet breakfast is good. Internet connection was frustratingly on and off, on enough to keep you trying. Hotel gym was closed on Sunday morning. A bit tough when it is 35 degrees outside! Apart from the breakfast the Restaurants are no great shakes. You are better off eating out. Rice barge evening cruise and meal highly recommended. Aircon works kind-off, you need it on all the time I your room.

Aufenthalt für eine Nacht

Aufenthalt für eine Nacht. Das Hotel liegt nicht ganz so günstig da man eine große Schleife nehmen muss um ins Zentrum zu kommen, also mindestens 30 Minuten zu Fuß. Definitiv in die Jahre gekommen, Frühstück war überdurchschnittlich.

Der große Pool war das beste an dem Hotel, das Gym war auch für ein Hotel-Gym sehr gut ausgestattet. Das Personal war für Thailändische Verhältnisse unfreundlich. Es liegt ziemlich gut. Man kommt schnell überall hin und ein 7/11 ist auch nicht weit.
