Well-located near the main train station, walkable to old city, clean and comfortable. Breakfast has a lot of options to start the day off well, and the room was well attended to. Only downsides were no AC (it was unseasonably hot when we were there, the fan was fine for us but if you’ve got issues being warm, this isn’t your place) and no luggage storage for pre-checkin arrivals. But no big deal. Would stay again.

The room was aesthetically pleasing and the hotel was close to where we wanted to go in Munich. However, it was next door to a strip club and you could hear thumping music in the room until the wee hours of the morning, even with the windows closed. The walls were paper thin so we could hear everyone around us. We hardly got any sleep during the 2 nights we were there due to it being so loud all night. We were pleased to discover that the buffet breakfast was included, but I wasn´t allowed to fill up my water bottle with water from the machine, even though I saw others do it. When I asked at the front desk if they had somewhere to fill up my bottle (it was too tall to fit under the faucet in my room), they said no. Not helpful at all.

Staff was pleasant, room was clean. HOWEVER, NOT a family-friendly location (multiple adult clubs and gambling facilities surrounding hotel). One club located directly next to hotel, open all night. Do not expect to sleep soundly with the noise. Rooms are tiny, and we could not see out the ceiling-height windows. Would not recommend locale or for a lengthy stay.

Loud street until 3 am. Hard to sleep..wish there is platform going to elevator with stairs because it is a challenge to carry luagages and stacked to fit a small elevator that can only fit 2 people, although the staff are friendly and accommodating.

The hotel itself was good, a solid option for a relatively inexpensive hotel near the train station and only a short walk to the Marienplatz, the Oktoberfest grounds, and the city center. It was warm in Munich when we stayed (high of 28.9C/84F) so we were grateful that there was a good ceiling fan and the windows opened fully. My only issue was that there area can be loud at night. We did not hear any music or noise from the club next door directly but the patrons were loud in the street and for some reason a lot of cars honking their horns outside the club late into the night. Not the hotel’s fault at all, but something to know about the area when booking. The breakfast buffet was very good, with many options.

Hotel Italia is conveniently located a short walk from the Munich train station and a short walk to Marienplatz.
The breakfast buffet was outstanding, room was clean, and shower was hot. The negative was that our room faced the street (some rooms do not), and the street noice was loud.

Basic hotel, basic standard of cleanliness (used bottle top on the window ledge), basic breakfast. Room door didn’t feel secure. Awful smell of cigarette smoke in the bathroom that got worse overnight into the morning. Not a very nice area. Next to a sex club.

Nice location, close to train station. The elevator was broken down, so we had to carry our luggage up and down. Out room facing the stairs and the sound proof was not good, so we can hear people talking all night because of oktoberfest was going on. I asked to extend 1 hour until 12 pm for checking out but was refused. Usually no problem with other hotels I have stayed.

the area is very unsafe, we witnessed several fights on the hotel street.

at the hotel the elevator is not in service (wish I knew this before we got there) we got the 5th floor

The hotel was adequate inside but hotel is directly beside a noisy strip club that also attracts a rough crowd so when we stayed there, there was a big fight outside the club that was traumatizing to see and hear. The staff doesn't really speak English and the owner will not give a refund for any circumstance.

Property was located next door to a strip club. My room was on the 2nd floor right above the entrance to the strip club and shared a wall with the strip club. It t was loud and I heard music at night. When I looked out my window I could see stripping reflected in the windows of the buildings across the street. I’m not sure if this was live or a video but it clearly showed a round stage with strippers. It was loud, very unsettling, and made me incredibly uncomfortable. I asked to be moved the next night and the hotel gave me a new room without asking questions and that room was good. I would like to request a refund for the first night in the unacceptable room.

Hi! Hotel picture of room is misrepresented! Shower so small I bumped my head on the wall so hard! Bed has one flat pillow and room is congested ! I had such a hard uncomfortable bed and slept only few hours This is coated in a dirty looking street area! Strip joint is close by such a seedy are! Went for a walk andsomeone was following from the receptionist was very unfriendly the first one I met and as soon as she finished conversation head went downwards just not courteous and unwelcoming! I checked out after first night very early and checked into Eden Wolff right across central station!

Sadly, there are a number of erotic night clubs very close by. The area just wasn't very pleasant, although at no time did we feel unsafe.
The hotel itself was great. It was close to transportation, had a free breakfast, which was excellent, and was surpringly quiet.

The hotel itself was very clean, rhe staff were really polite and helpful, and the rooms were as you'd expect tidy with all the normal stuff however they were on the small side, bathroom was particularly tight, breakfast was good, well stocked there is no aircon in the rooms so they were really warm overnight meaning we had to have the windows open, which is where our issue was, our room was on the front of the building and not the hotels fault at all but there is a bar next door which is open through the night and on the weekend it was rowdy outside way into the small hours, so if you open the windows the noise seems to amplify around the room, ear plugs definitely needed, our friend had a room on the rear which was quiet, luck of the draw I suppose, the week day night was not a problem

The hotel was alright, the room was decent, the breakfast was good and the staff was good. The area around the hotel is kind of shady though. There is a strip club next to it along with some other bars and thus noisy nights. We did wake up a few times during the night due to the noise on the street. There is no AC, so you might have to keep the window open on hot summer nights and that makes it worse.

Totally inadequate for €200

I mean, if you really want to pay €200 per night to sleep in a tiny room with a tiny bathroom on an uncomfortable double bed falsely advertised as a queen bed (sorry guys, 140 cm is NOT queen size) in a hotel located on a seedy street next to strip clubs, this is your place. I will give them this: the breakfast is very good.

This hotel is fine except it is directly on top of a strip club and the streets are extremely loud at night. First receptionist was not overly friendly but also not unpleasant? Hotel room was clean enough. The main plus was that it is a very quick walk to the station and quite cheap.

The staff was helpful and friendly, and the breakfasts were fantastic! The food choices at breakfast were fresh, delicious, and plentiful.
Since the weather was cool and we could open the windows, it was not uncomfortable without air conditioning. Also, there was a stand fan in the closet. However, the windows wouldn’t stay open without propping them open, but the drawback at night with the windows open was the noise outside. Fortunately the weather was cool enough at night to keep the windows closed so the noise wouldn’t bother us too much. The stand fan helped with that, too.
I would recommend this hotel. It is pretty convenient to the train station.

Fine if you want to be near the train station.

The location and main road is a little seedy. There is a lot of activity on the street, but it might be like this anywhere near the train station. Our room was fine and check-in was simple. They held our bags for us while we did a day trip, so that was nice. The rooms are okay, and standard. The garbage was not changed in my bathroom. Internet has been reliable and there is a breakfast included.

The hotel was located next door to a strip club. The rooms were cramped, much smaller than they appear in the pictures. The guests in the room down the hallway played loud music all night with the door open. We finally had to request that they at least close th front door (why would you blast music with the door open in the middle of the night? Really?).

I left two items of clothes in the room by mistake and called the hotel several times and got no answers. Literally! One man took my information down and said he would get back to me by the next day. He never got back to me. I know I left my clothes there, so if they don’t have them, the room service staff must have stollen them or threw them away??

The only thing I can say that was better than expected was the complementary breakfast. There were lots of food options and everything was kept fresh.

The location was great, close to central station, and also Aldi. The breakfast was pretty good too. However, the only reason I gave it low review was the room was too hot. It was during the heatwave season. Even though the room has a small desk fan, it could barely cool the room. The window cannot be fully opened, hence the room was poorly ventilated. The heat was trapped inside the room most of the time and we were sweating and could barely fell asleep. Wi-fI was very weak too, bad connection for us.

Small room, but fine for a few days - it had everything we needed including a fan.
Shower cubicle was small and awkward to get out of, but decent water pressure. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was good. Lift was tiny - not much room for more than 2 people and a bag! Wi-fi was intermittent.
Hotel is a 10 min walk from the train station with plenty of places to eat/get a coffee. Check in was very quick.

Weekend in Munich

Took the opportunity of a weekend break in Munich. Required a hotel close to the Train Station. I had looked at the reviews for some of the hotels in the area. Most gave a negative review regarding noise, run down state of the area and the other businesses close by. I can say this did not cause any problem in my stay in Hotel Italia. Room more than adequate. Separate shower and closet rooms. Noise was no problem. And I was staying on a busy Bank holiday weekend lots of other Brits over enjoying themselves. Wi-Fi very good, the room was on the 5th floor no crashes. Continental breakfast good, plenty of choice. All the staff I met were very helpful. Only comment, a second pillow would have been appreciated. Location was perfect, a direct route down Shilllerstasser from the Station to the Hotel. A 5 minute walk with case, and I'm a 70 year old! I would stay here again.
