Nice resort 1 hour speedboat from Male. Main reason we stayed here was for snorkelling on the house reef which was pretty good, heaps of fish, sharks, rays, octopus and turtles, however the coral is not as healthy as other resorts we have stayed at. Food was good, especially at The Grill. All inclusive drinks list suited us. Staff were excellent and very attentive and spoilt me on my birthday. We had a beach bungalow which was comfortable with great shower, comfortable bed and close to the main restaurant and bar. Overwater bungalows looked good too. Good resort if you don’t want to fly out of Male.

Overall, my stay was absolutely perfect, with the exception of the food. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the amenities were top-notch. However, I struggled with the dining options during my long stay. Many dishes had a strong Indian masala flavor, which was quite difficult for me to eat. I also felt that the variety of food and beverages was somewhat repetitive. If the resort hopes to attract more Korean guests, I strongly suggest diversifying the menu to accommodate different palates. Struggling with meals was tough, but aside from that, the resort itself and the hospitality were flawless.

Staff was very friendly. Service was amazing food was very tasty. Kassie would greet you the minute you walked in and bring you drinks and service was very good. Other staff Dil, Anjali had great customer service. Nick, Namu in the dining room the cooks was so nice and friendly make you feel at home. Would highly recommend this place to anyone and definitely will revisit.

We’ve been twice. It’s just such an easy place to spend time - great house reef, fab diving school, friendly helpful staff, very nice food. Rooms are good. You can get higher levels of luxury I’m sure, but you will be paying for it. This seems really good value for where you are.

We had an amazing experience. The surroundings were magical and the food was fabulous. The staff were professional and friendly and especially fabulous were the hostesses at the buffet. They made our trip even better!

We had an on the water cabin and were able to watch fish, dolphins and birds constantly. It was worth the upgrade.

The property makes you check in late and check out early. Atleast 3-4 hours of your stay is taken away. They don’t even let you have lunch befor you leave for which you have paid already. They lied to us about the weather being bad and made us check out. While the weather was absolutely perfect. Will not be back here. Only the guys in the kitchen department were nice!

The whole holiday was amazing from being met at the airport to being dropped off for our flight home. We have stayed on another island previously but Helengeli was stunning.
We took advantage of the excursions on offer, the sunset cruise became a dolphin spotting trip and the traditional fishing was a great morning out. The guys on the boat were fantastic.
The food at Raga Route was some of the nicest we have had and hopefully we will be back to visit again. Congratulations to the chef and his team 💕

We booked and canceled several resorts before choosing OBLU Helengeli. Many advertised snorkeling, but it turned out they didn’t have a reef. We went to OBLU for the reef and were not disappointed. We had a great encounter with a ray and 2 turtles. Plenty of other fish, too. Our overwater sunset villa was beautiful, with a very large pool on the deck. Absolutely fantastic resorting. The staff, the food, the, villas, I could not fault.Manas, Varun, Rittu,Usham, Zamma, Abdulla, Shed,Aziz,Rishi, amd many other staff members, who were extremely welcoming. The resort had everything you need to relax.
The food was 7 *, spoilt for choices.
A really good place for snorkeling.
I would definitely recommend......

Property settings is unique for its tropical forests theme, the water villas are very nice. Transport from airport n back included at no extra charge. Rooms were beautiful n clean. Staff courteous n helpful. Prices were reasonable. Excellent family setting if u bringing kids. And there is also an adult only pool as well. Food was good.

I did not like the mosquitos in the villa, the rocks in the beach, the drinks at bar were water down. Had to ask bartender to hit them hard. Only live music and no dj.

Absolutely everything about this place is beautifully. The staff work as one team to meet your comfort through your stay. No one person during our stay in this place was rude, or no friendly at any time. The staff make this place feels safe, like home, relax, and want to go back as soon as possible. Overall a good stay.
Reef is very good.
Limited drinks on all inclusive and wine undrinkable. Food was plentiful and very good.
Spa area and treatment were very good.
Water villa is looking a little tited and in need of some TLC, for example the window leaks when it rains, tiles missing on the pool.
Room cleaning was hit and miss, had to ask for water on more than one occasion as running out.
The island is very eco friendly with its own desalination plant for water which is excellent.

The resort itself is great, staff (except doctors) are great. I would put 5 stars if it wasn’t for unprofessional doctors on the island. The result - I lost hearing in one ear due to inflammation (temporarily I hope).
I got water stuck in my ear, when trying to clean wax fully blocked ear canal. I talked to TWO doctors on the island in two days, one said ear is clear, other one refused to give me hydrogen peroxide that was on his shelf saying it’s dangerous, though I’ve used it before many times by doctor’s recommendation to soften wax before washing it out with pressure! He gave me waxolve which didn’t help. Eventually in my home country doctor told me to use HYDROGEN PEROXIDE to soften wax, then she washed the wax out. But after 7 days of having water stuck in it, it got inflamed and I still can’t hear on that ear. The island doctors didn’t care, were not attentive, just wanted to get rid of me. Bring your own medicine to islands or insist on your requests!

Perfect location for snorkeling, staff is very friendly and welcoming. Villas are pretty basic and the shore is full of dead corals so buy some water shoes before coming here, otherwise it can be a painful experience.

The beach and water is divine

We had an amazing stay. The beach and water is divine and the sea life plentiful. We spent most of our time snorkelling as we just couldn’t get enough.

We booked an all-inclusive package in a Deluxe beach villa –super comfortable beds, spacious rooms and amazing bathroom! It is squeaky clean and the attention to detail is amazing.

Tip: All the rooms are on the beach with a sea view. The deluxe villas, however, are closer to the sea with bigger windows for more light, a massive bathroom and an outside daybed.

There is an extensive collection of drinks on the all-inclusive package and Lahero and his team at Helen bar will make you feel right at home.

The restaurant and kitchen provided an extensive menu with very tasty food. Great service by Vikas and team. They also went over and about for my husband’s birthday and made it so special.

The shop has souvenirs, necessities and a good selection of sunblock and after sun. The shop lady was also very attentive and knowledgeable.

Ask for Chamini or Putu at Elena spa as we had a relaxing couples massage and enjoyed it tremendously.

Try the Scuba discovery lesson, it will open a whole new world. Louigi is a great instructor and very patient.

They have a registered medical doctor on the premises taking temperatures every morning at breakfast. They will schedule a PCR test for you with the doctor two days before your flight. She takes a nasal and mouth swab, prepares the paperwork and email it to you ready for your flight.

Housereef without Breakwaters

It's a shame we cannot access the housereef during bad weather. If there is breakwaters beyond the housereef people can snorkel in all conditions.

There's also construction going on OBLU as well as offshore. Feels like a lot of people moving around.

Got off on the wrong foot as the meet up guy wasn't at the arranged place. Took us 10mins to find him and was brought to wait outside coffee outlet while he get 2 more guests inside. The boat ride and check in was alright. They could have seated us according to rooms on the buggy to avoid having us to get on and off in the heavy rain.

They have a good spread for their buffet meals but the meat is mostly overcooked and tough. The cocktails and mock tails were good. Just Grill is worth Waiting for as the reception forgot to pass our reservation on. The medium rare beef tend to be over done but the apertizers, soup, prawn and desserts are good.

The Deluxe Villas are much nicer with open beach view. They are well kept during our stay - many thanks to Ahmed! It'd be good to add lines for drying our towels and swimwear.

The spa has 3 good and 2 inexperienced Therapists. The ambience and cleanliness was good.

The jetty is a haven to watch for dolphins and fish hunt (by bigger fish and birds). It's also a good jump off point for snorkeling back to the beach via the channels. We saw reef sharks and sting rays Swimming at the beach.

We experienced both pros and cons at OBLU but overall it's a good resort for the price we paid for.
