Very clean! Continental breakfast and Ness cafe. Close to Metro busses that can take you to the center. In walking distance there is park with beach. There are shopping malls one just 1 stop away and few others further. Metro busses are in almost every 2 min. Just charge your Metro card by cash. I was happy driving with my car in Turkey. Although there is busy traffic, Turkish drivers are very tolerant and polite. Behind the hotel there are lots of supermarkets and fresh veggies, fruits. Great location, accessibility, air conditioning in the rooms and cleaning. The only bad was that there wasn't wi-fi in the rooms, but for such price and everything above, it was ok for us, just using internet in the lobby if it is necessary.

Only here for 1 night due to champions league. Location not great to centre but about 20 quid to centre. Hotel absolutely beautiful, staff good, breakfast good, room rate good Arrived for the sake of 15 minutes to get changed to head for centre. In that time staff brought us 3 plates of complimentary fruit, not needed but appreciated all the same. If I ever go to that area again would definitely stay here Sorry we wasn’t there longer as it was so good

Don’t go for the “Upgraded room”

Lovely hotel right in the heart of Sultanahmet.
Our arrive/check in was a little strange. I had booked a deluxe room in the hotel. So when it came to check in time we were whisked up the road to another hotel? Oh this was sold to us by an “Upgraded room”. What a load of rubbish!! I got in the “Upgraded” room and it was nothing like I had booked. I showed the receptionist a picture of my booked room but she insisted this was bigger and an upgrade. I refused the room and said I wanted the room I’d booked in the hotel I’d booked. When I was eventually shown my booked room in my booked hotel it was perfect. The action of the receptionist was I believe, to give up an upgraded down grade and sell my deluxe room to a guy who had just walked in off the street for more money, win win for the hotel.
When you book a room always check it out first and don’t get fobbec off!!!

I say I would recommend,but with caveats.
This hotel looks like it had been recently renovated. It is clean and in good condition. The rooms are well equipped,clean and comfortable. The food is a little basic, but you won't starve.
This hotel is dry; No alcohol.
The staff are lovely and very obliging.

The only down-side is the location. It's not too far from the airport (Ataturk) but is quite a way from the old part of Istanbul.
The hotel is on the edge of a busy highway. There is precious little in the area except small businesses.

Nice hotel.

Spent three days and two nights, the bed linens were never changed. My room looked like it was cleaned. However, the red stains from eating strawberries were on the sheets and were never changed. There were no wash cloths only large towels.

A very good option for a stopover in Istanbul. Close to the Ataturk Airport (15 mins/10-15 euro by taxi). Very clean. Nice staff and breakfast. Facing a super busy street but the upper floors are quiet.

We booked this hotel as it said it is near to the airport (Ataturk) and we were flying onward the following day. Out of rush hour you can get here by taxi in about 15/20 mins. In rush hour times it will take about an hour. Check taxi rates before you get in.
We booked a triple room in April to be sure we could get the room type and although other hotels were available, few had a triple rooms. On arrival there was no triple room and they were not willing to help. One member of staff commented on another room that may be available and sorted out beds by moving them himself. He was very helpful and served us at dinner and at breakfast time. The staff were very friendly and helpful in the end, but after a long day travelling it wasn't quite the start we would have liked. Food at night is very basic, but freshly made for you. Breakfast is buffet and had something to suit everyone.

Well price - clean airport hotel

I had an early flight so I stayed here one night because it was close to the airport. The hotel reminded me of any north American business airport hotels. Very clean, comfortable beds, television with English channels. My flight was too early to try the breakfast. The rate was really reasonable given the quality of the room.

Grand Hotel Avcilar Has It All!

Being our first visit to the spectacular city of Istanbul, we wanted to be somewhat near the airport, but in a different part of the city than the historic district of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofya and Topkapi Palace. We chose the Grand Hotel Avcilar because it was reasonably price and in the opposite direction from the airport than the historic district thinking traffic two and from the airport would be less . . . Wrong. Istanbul is a busy, busy, crowded place, but what made it all worthwhile was the hotel's eagerness to please and serve, an outstanding breakfast and clean, comfortable rooms and common areas. Oh and very good air conditioning! One suggestion: Take a cruise for 15 Euros on the Bosporus and Golden Horn to see and appreciate all of Istanbul. Best thing we did in Istanbul, next to the Grand Bazaar and Mosques!

Great place for an overnight layover from IST

Nice hotel, great staff, good value for what I paid. Located nowhere near the old town, though, and a half hour by public transit from Ataturk Airport (IST). If you stay here on a layover from IST, though, be prepared to pay for a cab ride or else take the metro to the bus and head north. I recommend the latter. Simply call the hotel to find out which stop. These folks are very helpful.

We stayed at this hotel because of its close location to the airport as we were arriving staying one night and flying out the next day. So this airport was terrific it a 10minute drive to Attaturk. The staff were lovely and very helpful, the room was a little dingy but served our purpose.

Only 15 minutes from Airport this was a surprising find .. not exactly in a stand out location but the hotel was so much more on the inside. The hotel staff were very helpful to us as very tired travellers. The room was sensational, clean, really comfortable bed and a large room. The bathroom was modern and clean.

The hotel is clean with modern appointments. However, the rooms are very small and it is located on a highway with very loud highway noise even with the windows closed. Staff is great. Food was good for the price. The location is the main drawback. Although it is a 10 minute walk from a beautiful park along the sea.

This hotel was quite nice and very clean and the staff was helpful and pleasan. My only complaint is that it was much further from the airport than I would have liked. There were many many hotels closer, and if I were on another overnight stay, I would be sure to stay closer to the airport. Istanbul taxis are notorious for taking the long way to anywhere, so I would suggest a closer hotel and be sure to have a map for your taxi driver.

Clean room, close to airport and breakfast good !

I was three for 3 nights while I adjusted to time difference & waited for my wife to arrive. Room was very good condition. They even replaced a broken toilet seat while they were cleaning the room before I can report it to front desk.only issue I had was with a cab driver that they provided for me...main highway way slow so he went into local streets to avoid that, but kept getting lost and kept asking others on the street and phone for directions...so a 1.5 hour drive took 3 hours then I was expected to pay for the entire time / ride..even cops said I have to pay !! When we called the hotel it wasn't much help !!

Nice hotel but the room smelled like cigarettes

Great experience in general compare to the hotels in the old city. Rooms face the busy highway so they are bit loud, temperature in the room cannot be controlled and it gets really hot at night. Also, the room smelled like smoke and sheets and lines all smelled like cigarette smoke.

The hotel is close to the metrobus stop \"IBB sosyal tesislar\" which is great as you can get to any part of Istanbul using the public transport. The hotel is not in the city center. Avcilar is quite far and it would take you about an hour or less to get to the more interesting parts of the city using this transport. Taxis to the airport or back from would cost you something between 25-30 TL. Hotel was fair in its pricing. No unexpected costs at checkout. The staff don't ask for a tip, but they expect one for room service (still optional. They bring back the change). Only the receptionist spoke English. Everyone is really friendly and nice. Very helpful staff. Facilities are basic but satisfactory. You can use a computer downstairs to print out important documents (ex: Boarding pass etc.)

The hotel is not convenient, while the rooms are clean, even though we asked for non-smoking room, the room was strong smell of smoking. They should have policy of penalizing smokers who smoke in non-smoking rooms. Not a comfortable sleep situation.

Spotless Clean and Comfortable Bed

Hotel is about 20 mins by taxi from Attaturk Intl Airport which costs 27 TL . Hotel is spotless clean with comfortable beds. Coffee and tea together with water boiler available in the room. Fast wi-fi connection which if free. Provide great breakfast from 7 a.m till 10.00 am. Safe to walk around the neighbourhood to 'feel ' the local culture. Grocery stores ,restaurants are a few mins walk from the hotel. A shopping mall is about 30 mins walk from the hotel. Prices are considerably lower than the touristy part of Istanbul.Staff are friendly and helpful.

Quite a distance from tourist sites. Takes over 2 hours to get to Sultanahmed.
Public transport facilities were good though still a mission to get anywhere.
Would recommend if you just going to airport not for sightseeing.

I stayed in this hotel one night owing to its claim of being close to the airport. In actual fact the hotel is around a 20 minute drive from the airport (~25TL by taxi). My room was of a good size, clean and I had no issues with the standard of my room or what I saw in the hotel communal areas. I didn’t get a chance to sample the buffet breakfast as my flight departed 08:30 and breakfast doesn’t start until 07:00! In summary, the hotel was good value for what I paid but I would recommend for business travellers only who require1 night accommodation in reasonable proximity to the airport. This would not be a good location for tourists wishing to explore Istanbul.

Excellent hotel...looked recently renovated or built. The bedroom was clean and even smelled brand new. The hotel is advertised as close tot he airport and it is but it is about a 20-30 min ride. Not as close as it may sound.

It is located in a residential type / business area. Not many restaurants or other tourist things nearby. So be aware.

Breakfast is turkish breakfast...hot and wide selection. Recommend to the Hotel that they carry Fresh Fruit Juices instead of the canned fruit drinks which were of low quality.

Wireless Internet was spotty at best. Could be improved.

The staff was extremely helpful and great! If you are looking for an economical clean great hotel this is the place to be especially for a simple 1 night layover in Istanbul.

Good option for affordable, non-touristic stay

We stayed at this hotel just one day during a flight layover. It's location is good because it's relatively close to the airport and probably one of the most affordable, good quality hotels around the airport. It's a regular neighborhood, without tourists or touristic attractions.

The hotel is very new and high quality in most aspects. The staff is great and helpful. Breakfast could be better. In general, we were very pleased with the hotel and would definitely recommend it if you’re not staying in Istanbul for tourism.

Not a bad place to spend a night

Hotel was fine - front desk staff was friendly and helpful, room was small but clean, especially the bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Free in-room wi-fi. We had an early flight so didn't stay for breakfast so can't vouch for that. Location is not too far from the airport (about 15 minute taxi ride), far from tourist attractions but there is a bus across the street to take you to the metro/tram. Small bodega about a 2 minute walk from hotel as snacks, sodas, etc.

Very nice Hotel & good location

I have spent part of my happy family road trip visit to turkey in this hotel. The hotel management and staff are friendly, helpful, and speak English (makes a big difference). The room conditions and hotel facility's are four stars compared to four stars Istanbul hotels. The room air condition is excellent. Laundry, and grocery shops, and local restaurants are within walking distance. The hotel location is very close to Ataturk airport and some big shopping malls.
