Rooms were very clean, bed was comfy but the staff were cold. No welcome, no thank you. We didnt even get to go in the lobby. They handed the key through a window.
When my wife arrive she could even find an attendant for the first 15 minute. She thought she was at the wrong place. After they finally came out my wife felt she was she was inconvenient by asking for the key.

I used this motel while riding a motorcycle. I was doing the Chattahoochie BDRX. The motel is right on the route. The rooms are clean and plain. Nothing fancy. Fast food and a grocery store are nearby. Recommended.

Nice clean room. We were pleasantly surprised. Very nice folks running the property. We were goung to ride motorcycles for 3 days and asked if we could park there, they charged $30 in cash in advance, but we never did park at all fue to unforseen circumstances.

Made the reservation specifically because their hotel said they are pet friendly. After driving seven hours and not getting there until 11 PM we were told they are no longer pet friendly and they turned us away. We had to find another place to stay. Not at all happy that their information is not updated.

Our reservation said we could check in at 3 pm but they had a sign that said 4 pm check in. No one was at the office window and all doors into the office were locked. We rang the bell several times but no one came to the window. We left and returned later.

Older building, HVAC should be updated, they did update the bathroom and Sink area. Nice overall job but attention to detail lacking. Paint the door trim, dirty like a mechanics bathroom. Owners were very pleasant. Had to ask for toilet paper, they do not leave a back up roll in the room

Almost ran out of toilet paper. Didn't get shampoo for the 3rd and last morning. Things are pretty noisy, especially the air conditioning and the refrigerator. Had to turn the air conditioner off in order to sleep. Still would go there again because it was cheaper than the alternatives and that's what I care about

Booked on Expedia but the receipt amount was 30% higher than agreed to on app- I have proof. Expedia states it is the hotel that charged the wrong amount. Just a warning to double check the amount on your credit card.

Not sure where the negative reviews came from because, for the most part, it was an overall good experience. Pretty clean room and good tv. The only issue was minor and it was the key for the first couple tries of the door, but front desk fixed the issue. For the money, worth the stay. Very convenient to downtown.

I stayed at this property for 1 night while passing through to escape the hurricane in Florida. In the middle of the night, my dog needed to use the bathroom so I grabbed my key card and took him out. When I got back to my room my key would not work. I didn’t have my cell phone on me so thankfully after several attempts at ringing the doorbell at the office someone came to the window which I assume was the owner. After providing me with another key card that did not work she accused me of making noise at 2 am and wanted to know what I was even doing out of my room at this time. It was already a stressful experience thinking how I was locked out of my room in the middle of the night and about 50 degree weather not knowing if I would be able to get back in before morning. There was never an apology for the inconvenience, only made me to feel as if I did something wrong in the situation.

The hotel office has no one in it. There is a sign that’s constantly up that says will return in 20-30 minutes. You only get someone if you ring the doorbell. It’s a 50 charge for a dog which comes with a lecture about how dogs are not allowed on the furniture or bed and then you are asked if you have a bed for the dog. There is a sign that says you will be charged for stains. Is this really a hotel or a halfway house?

Nice brand new very large TV, shower and tub felt brand new, and lets face it, besides the bed, the bathroom is the other critical piece of what makes a good hotel room. Rude! Do Not Book this Hotel. When we arrived for check in the staff was very rude and unfriendly! When the room was booked it said pet friendly, with no listing of any type of fee. Upon check-in there was a sign hanging in the window that said there was a pricy per night pet fee. Ridiculous! Sign stated that if you did not let them know you would be asked to leave and pay an even larger fee. We picked up our pet the following morning and needed to pay the fee. When we explained the situation, the property refused to accommodate us and let us pay the one-night fee and we were asked to leave, or the police would be called.
This situation was explained in detail and at great length to Orbitz, which in order to refund us for the night called the property. The Budget Inn Elljay was untruthful and said that we had stayed the entire length of our trip and that we had paid a pet fee. Untrue, Unfair, and all in all Ridiculous from both Orbitz and the Budget Inn!
Oh, and don’t expect a continental breakfast when you get up in the morning as there is nothing offered.

If you are a smoker, you don't wanna try this hotel. We got there, AC didn't work, bath tub wouldn't stop up, then hair dryer wouldn't work.

This location is very run down. The host/operator spoke through a window rather than letting me in the office even though it was during the day. They charge for having a dog which they increased by 20% over the amount shown on the reservation. We tried cancelling, but the owner was nasty about it. The total charge ends up being about 50% higher than the actual room rate. Hotel.com didn't help with the cancelation. Never occupied a room.

I was very please with the room and the owners. I expected to show up and the room pictures not allign with what was there. I was extremely happy to find that was not the case. The interior has been remodeled and is nicer than a lot of hotels that I have stayed in. The owners were kind and very helful when I needed anything and I was happy to extend my stay further. I will be returning to Ellijay for work and have already booked my next stay here. Well worth the money and frankly I dont think they are charging enough.

Elijay is not an easy place to find a last minute B&B or cabin. The Budget Inn is a reasonably priced, clean, convenient alternative. Pulling into the parking lot looks a bit sketchy but our worries we’re soon calmed. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms are immaculately clean. The beds are comfortable. It was everything we needed for a quick overnight stay.
