Absolutely beautiful. The owner Ron was so nice and helpful with recommendations for restaurants and attractions in the area. If you’re planning on staying in the central mountains this place cannot be beat.

Unique and special accommodations. The views are spectacular and the room details are creative. It is housed on a steep drop. You arrive at the top level and descend to numerous levels with patios. A castle in the sky. The owners were attentive and easy going. Enjoy!!

This place is AMAZING!! Ron, our host was very nice! He even let us use a cooler and gave us a bag of ice for it. He also made me coffee in the morning! It's very peaceful and we loved hearing all the coqui at night.

The host Ron was so nice. He made sure we had everything we needed. The room was decent sized. We didn’t spend much time at the property because we wanted to explore the island. The pool looked nice and clean we just didn’t use it. The property had great views across the mountains. Be prepared to drive on some wild mountain roads. It was so fun and would stay there again.

Just amazing. You can expect to wake and fall asleep with the sound of nature. The owner is AMAZING and truly made our experience joyful. Great recommendations and hilarious! We truly felt at home. The view is breathtaking and the villa is crafted to perfection. You have a scenic drive through the mountains and its all so worth it!

Expectations were higher

They advertise that it includes breakfast but is not true. For us the breakfast was an attraction because when reading the previous reviews they said that the restaurants were far away and it is very correct. There was also no small refrigerator for medicines or a coffee maker in the room. Basically the place is summed up as a beautiful view and a good taste in the decoration of the room.

This is one of the most interesting and unique bnbs we have encountered. The property is beautiful and the love being poured into it is evident. The great- listening to the coqui and birds at night is enchanting, the AC works great, the host is charming, the view is magical. The cons- breakfast was not as pictured, but it was local, lol (McDonald’s breakfast sandwich) and the shower in the bathroom had no guard, so the water covered the bathroom floor. Could easily be a hazard. As mentioned in the listing, the stairs are no joke. Any mobility issues Would not be compatible for this location. Over all, we loved meeting Ron and his dad and seeing his beautiful home. You won’t find a better view or host. Glad we found this place!

Like a dream

Just the break from the world I needed.. no tv which I actually loved but there is Wi-Fi. The mountains are beautiful & pure magic the sounds of coquis at night were amazing, I loved every second of my stay. Waking up to a view that’s indescribable. The room was huge I loved the thought and intent put into the spaces there. Ron is the best host and we loved him his happy spirit and hospitality were top tier. I’m so grateful we found Villa Gringo. I hope to return some day!

We expected a better experience

We got one of the newer rooms down from the main building, which came pretty bare bones: no wifi from the room or the balcony, no closet space / dresser / indoor seating area, and a wet bathroom. The views are great, but the location is a 15-20 minute drive away from restaurants and facilities. For the price, we were expecting a more comfortable stay. Do yourself a favour and prepay your stay on hotels.com, otherwise you'll have to pay by cash or PayPal. And don't forget to contact the property in advance to plan a specific check in time, we missed those instructions in the confirmation email and think we inconvenienced the owner upon arrival.

Had an amazing stay here Ron the caretaker phenomenal guy if you need anything just ask him he knows somebody that can get it for you or he's got access to it doesn't matter what it is he's a really awesome guy the place is amazing the pool was nice the little gazebo area fabulous.
Me and my wife spent one of our days in Puerto Rico here it was just nice and quiet up in the mountains watching the fog roll in in the morning with the sunrise

My absolute favorite place I have stayed at so far (and I’ve been to many different places) but this small paradise in the mountains of Comerio, Puerto Rico, just breathtaking. The beautiful sunset, the beautiful home, that has literally been built and renovated by the host himself. The friendliness of the host, Ron, who takes the time to greet you and show you around, as well as drive down those mountains early in the morning to get you breakfast that’s waiting for you when you wake up.
The room was beautiful and comfortable, very spacious… nature comes alive at night, and the coqui noises, and everything else, is the perfect “white noise”
I definitely recommend this place. You won’t regret it. And Ron is just a beautiful soul to get to know.

My stay at Villa Gringo was a highlight of my trip to Puerto Rico! We spent two nights there, and it was such a relaxing retreat from the beaches and San Juan. The natural birds and frog sounds of the surrounding forest are unreal and made for such a pleasant environment. Ron is a really fun host, and we enjoyed getting to know him and understanding the thought that went into renovations of the property. We enjoyed hiking at the top of San Cristobel Canyon and eating at El Criolito. We really wanted to go to Chef's Soul but it wasn't open when we were in town. Overall, would highly recommend staying here and spending some time in the interior of the island!

Great spot and terrific host

This was a very well kept property. Our room was comfortable. The common areas were great! We loved the gazebo overlooking the jungle. The views overall were incredible!
Our host, Ron, was terrific! He truly wants his guests to have an excellent experience.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay outside of the more populated areas and really experience the island.

Our stay was beyond amazing. Villa Gringo Farms is an incredible oasis of luxury and hospitality. Not only is every inch of the grounds breath-taking, but the two gentleman that run it, Ron and Michael, are two of the sweetest, warm, and helpful men you could possibly hope to meet; their hospitality knew no bounds and they are truly dear to our hearts after such a lovely stay. This castle villa is beautiful! The surrounding mountains and jungle scenery adds to the experience. And the host was an absolute delight! He shared so much knowledge on the island. He treated us which such kindness and hospitality. It's a family owned residency so we could feel the warmth immediately when he and his dog greeted us at the gate. Breathtakingly Beautiful!!

The highlight of our honeymoon was staying here. Well worth the scenic drive up into the mountains. It’s such a gorgeous place with views I can even describe complete with papayas, bananas, and avocado growing in the garden!! Great hospitality, easy check in with very friendly and personable owner, Ron. Comfortable bed and decor in the entire home was tasteful. Can’t wait to come back one day to see it again. The place was beautiful and quiet. There are only about three rooms for rent. The very friendly owner lives on-site. Two considerations: it's a very twisty road to get there, and because it's built into a hillside there are a lot of stairs. That's the price of the amazing view!
