Website makes the Del Mar look decent but in person....not so much. Dirty, stained up sheets/pillow cases, the a/c window unit by the bed sounded like a rocket ship taking off all night long, the pull out bed did not have any blankets or extra pillows (had to go back 2 blocks away for more), advertised as having a pool but ended up being 2 blocks away, as well as once we arrived by uber, we had to check in at a different locations 2 blocks away, continental breakfast was advertised....yeah also 2 blocks away. For the money, there are way better options close by. Would not recommend.

The room was super clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly. In my particular case, I didn't have a sea view; also, one thing I didn't like was that—although the description states the hotel has 10 pools—there wasn't a single one located where I was staying. The unit does have a kitchen, but you need to bring absolutely everything you need for cooking (kettles, frying pans, pots, knives, plates, and glasses), as it does not provide any of these utensils. The location is perfect if you want to be close to the sea and restaurants, though it is a bit distant from department stores.

The check in office is located off the property. This office is for 10 or more hotels around the area and the check in process took more than an hour. The room was super dirty and a lot of strange activities around like drank people, dogs in the pool and loud music. If you want something more quiet and relaxing please avoid this area. We booked a suite with a king bed but it was the queen bed. The AC was too loud. Please be aware!

Check-in was interesting, ensure you read the instructions clearly as it's quite a walk in the heat and travel tired family with suitcase's from the building/property to the shared check in building.

Once checked in we found our room, which was on the first floor. The room had a sea view from the living area window, or from the shared balcony. The window was however really dirty.

Our first impression was poor, particularly on how easy it was to access the property, literally anyone could walk-in and access the building. No gate or door. The room door wasn't the most secure, and has seen better days, however we were thankful of at least a working chain.

The room itself was a good size, the bathroom was modern, pretty clean and the bed in the main bedroom was of a good size and quality. The sofa bed however was in a poor old, ripped and barely usable condition which made for a few uncomfortable nights for our son.

We booked the room for two adults and two children however our 9 year old daughter had to sleep with us, which again didn't make for an ideal situation or restful sleep. The living area could fit at least another sofa or two single sofa beds; it shouldn't be marketed for a family of four.

The air-conditioning, free standing in the bedroom and window mounted in the living area both worked but we're very noisy so couldn't be left on.

Not all was bad though, the included breakfast however simple was served in another building and attended by a wonderful frilad

The location is perfect. It’s just steps away from (not directly on) the beach. It’s convenient to area attractions and the local nightlife.

The atmosphere is great especially if you’re primarily spending your stay on the beach. You have the boardwalk with restaurants, souvenir shops, live entertainment, and nightlife entertainment. There isn’t much outside of the boardwalk but lots of things convenient by car.

The rooms are decent. We had the apartment style room with a sitting area/sofa bed, cooktop, refrigerator, table and bench and separate bedroom. It accommodated our needs and the price was reasonable compared to other hotels close to the beach. The breakfast was meh. Just a bunch of breads and boiled eggs.

The area itself is clean. The Hotel amenities, specifically the pool area, could use some attention. The pool did not appear to have chlorine and the lounge chairs were dirty with one area reeking of urine. My room was not cleaned during my 5 night stay although they stated it is done on day three. I also spent 20 minutes attempting to replace towels after a “count discrepancy” (yes you have to walk your towels over and they count before replacing) mind you we had to request an extra because it was 4 of us and they started us with just 3. Total inconvenience for someone trying to enjoy their vacation.

It’s fairly peaceful and quiet outside of daytime/evening activities. Overall, I’d consider trying them again pending minor improvements to upkeep and process.

The front desk was difficult to reach—it took until the next day to get in touch with anyone. Theres nothing particularly notable about this property aside from its location.
The breakfast experience needs significant improvement. It was set up in a small, poorly lit room, which made it feel uninviting. The condiments were left out with little to no attention to presentation or hygiene. Overall, it felt neglected and below expectations.

Very well situated location. The beach and ocean can be sean from the balconies, depending what side you are on. The walk is barley half a block to the Bradwalk and beach, maybe a 1min walk. Building was older, but very clean and lovely staff. Very close to all the shopping, great food, live music and of course beach and bike path fun.

I recently booked a four‑night stay for my wife, our son, and myself at Hollywood Beach Hotels through a well‑known travel site. Our reservation was originally for the Del Mar location, but upon arrival we were disappointed to find that the room only had one bed and a pull‑out sofa that had definitely seen better days.

We spoke with the manager, who was extremely accommodating and understanding. He quickly arranged for us to move to their Seaside location, which turned out to be exactly what we needed. The new room had two queen beds and was clean, comfortable, and equipped with a full kitchen. This was actually our second time staying at that exact Seaside property, and it reminded us why it’s our absolute favorite—close to the beach, well‑kept, and with a pool right on the property.

Another highlight of our stay was the included breakfast. Donna, who manages the door during breakfast, deserves special recognition. She runs a tight ship in the best way possible—keeping the flow of guests smooth and organized—yet she’s incredibly warm and accommodating. She greeted everyone with genuine kindness and was a ray of sunshine every morning. The fact that she always made sure to save me an orange was such a thoughtful touch that truly made our mornings brighter.

Overall, despite the initial hiccup, our stay ended up being wonderful thanks to the helpful staff and the great experience at the Seaside location. We’ll definitely be returning.

Many amenities listed, they didn’t have. It says ocean view and we didn’t have that. There was a family with a small child above us that would run, jump, and stomp around from 8am till 11pm. We called several times and the front desk would send someone but it would still happen every night. The front office was not where the hotel was so you had to take all of your luggage around to a busy road. The free breakfast was awful. They had barely anything and it was so busy people were fighting just to get food. We made the best of it but we would not stay here again.

Seriously over priced. You're paying for proximity to the beach, which was great. Room was clean, but sparse and incredibly outdated. Front desk staff was stressed and a mix of kind or snippy. Breakfast was a small amount of time serving guests from ALL their hotel properties (so expect to walk). And the breakfast staff was downright rude. Didn't bother me that she was rude to me but she was rude my kids. Unacceptable. We won't be staying there again and would advise others against it.

Other than a nice location close to the beach this place is a scam and not good at all. Does not really have wifi even though they advertise they do. Toilet was not even working and had a maintenance guy in the room working on it most of the time I was there as I was trying to nap my kids after a tiring day. Front desk is a like 2 blocks away from the hotel just to check in or need anything. Tv remote not even working. Horrible smell hits as you walk in. They also charge a “service fee” and “deposit” even after already booking through expedia. Total scam of a place, can book somewhere else alot better for the same money or better.

Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was not great. While the room itself looked okay at first, I quickly noticed a serious termite problem — they were literally everywhere, which made it really uncomfortable to stay in the room for long.

Another major issue was the setup: check-in wasn’t even at the hotel I booked — it was at a completely different location owned by the same company. They apparently own 10+ hotels in the area, and everyone has to check in at one central place. The line was long, staff seemed overwhelmed, and it felt chaotic.

To make things worse, breakfast was at yet another property — not even in the same building. I had to walk quite a bit just to get there, which was really inconvenient, especially in the morning. It felt like I was bouncing between hotels for everything except sleeping.

In short, while the price might look appealing, the lack of organization, pest issue, and hassle of walking to different hotels for basic services really ruined the stay. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless they make some serious changes.

There is several properties, all in different locations under one umbrella company. No ice, no coffee, not beachfront, pool and breakfast in different buildings, A RESORT FEE, which this is the furthest thing from a resort, ridiculous. All of the reasons I booked this place over others were not real. The room itself was super bare bones, cut pieces of qood instead of furniture. Upcharge for everything. This is not ok.

Terrible condition of the room. There is mold in many places, peeling paint, non-working plumbing. The shower head did not work, the safe did not work, the air conditioner did not cool. Overall, it was a terrible experience, I do not recommend it to anyone.

The location was amazing. A 1 mintue walk to the broadwalk and beach was the selling point here, and honestly the only reason to stay here. We didn't know until we got dropped off that the hotel main office was 3 blocks away for check-in. There was one small sign and it took us quite awhile to see it. Once we made it there, we were given a room in a different hotel (they own a bunch of them in the area, as we found out eventually, but we're not told during check-in, just given our room number and building number even though they all have namesand aren't identified by numbers, at least not clearly). We were given incorrect directions and walked in the wrong direction for a bit until we figured out it was the wrong way. The room wasn't dirty, just clearly a lot of moisture and water damage everywhere. The floors were broken, the curtains in the bedroom didn't fully cover the window so if someone walked behind the building, they could easily see in. There was an AC unit in the bedroom which was nice. The free breakfast was several blocks away, basically bread, 2 kinds of bagels, a croissant, 2 kinds of fruit, 3 cereal dispensers, room temperature cream cheese, american single slices, and hard boiled eggs in a large bowl. We went one time and decided it wasn't worth the walk. So, overall, not a great hotel but the location was amazing if you don't care too much about the things I mentioned.

This place is very run down. There are no glasses, cups, plates, or utensils in the room. The air conditioner in yhe room is so noisy, literally every 10 minutes, it makes a loud noise, like its pumping water out. The gap in the door is probably close to an inch. Would not stay here again.

Horrible hotel!!! The rooms are dirty, there is no working equipment in the bathroom. The bathroom door is almost falling off the wall and has a huge hole. The air conditioner does a very poor job of cooling the rooms and this is only in February. The area is dirty and unkempt. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Dangerous and unsafe property!! They negligently double booked my room. On my second night when I was in bed in my underwear a strange man entered my hotel room. Thankfully I was able to get him out safely. And when I called the police they blatantly lied to the police and said it was impossible for two guests room keys to open same door. And refused to show the police the camera footage citing a need for a manager. When I went myself to ask for it I was told a manager would call back. No apology and basically sticking with their story. Well I was recording a work video and you can hear the man enter my room. While I am talking to the hotel about this grossly negligent and scary incident of a stranger netting my hotel, another guest heard the discussion. And then tells me she witnessed the man who entered my room try and get new keys and they told him to re-enter my room!! Which thankfully he refused to do!! Management has not called me and I will be contacting a lawyer, the better business bureau and anyone who will listen about this scary scary hotel!!

This place was a big disappointment!! Not what was described at all. They provided nothing shampoo or soap as viewed in pictures here didn’t exist. Termite infection see my picture. Every amenity was al a carte see my picture. They charged me for parking also wasn’t in the description here. The staff is rude to all customers. The other patrons in our building were outside every second smoking pot. There were left overs everywhere and all the tables outside had burn marks. I invited my nephew over he refused to bring his child there because of all the drug users. Which I can’t blame him.
I feel I deserve a partial refund because of all of this but doubt it will happen.

I liked the closeness to the Broadwalk and Ocean Ave. The staff was friendly and helpful. That's as far as the positives go at Del Mar. The photos online are very deceiving. The first night we were there, a woman was on her hands and knees and pushed our door open that I had left cracked open, as I sat in the patio area outside and my bf was sitting in the couch inside in the living area. Her response was, \"Sorry, wrong room.\" The room we had was noisy and not clean. The room above us had constant walking and talking into late hours. The air conditioner blew a pungent smell, so it was used sparingly and only as desperately needed. We had to kill a cockroach on our kitchen table, so we didn't dare have any food in our room, which ended up costing us a lot more money having to eat out (one of the reasons we chose a room w/a kitchenette was to avoid that). The breakfast offered was less than ideal. No real juice (koolaid like), generic pastries and granola bars and a coffee bar w/ Walmart powdered creamer & sugar and nothing else. The pools were not clean and the areas around them were not kept up well. The buildings in general have gutters that need repair, gates that don't operate properly, just old and need updating overall. Very disappointed and will not stay at another Hollywood Beach Property again. We will stick with other properties on the Broadwalk that we've stayed at in the past.

Cute place! Girl that checked me in was nice. The xtra fees resort fee, parking & $100 deposit was a joke. I ne er even saw a pool.Was not one @ the property I was @. BF was bread cereal & boiled eggs.Which that was fine. I mean come on with the xtra resort fee! If it wasnt for that I would say it was fantastic. Great location & super cute room. Though there was a huge hole in our bathroom door. If you want kitchen items you have to ask for them & check them out. Something to remember when booking here.

The property is located just off of the beach. So, if you are planning on splashing in the ocean and sunbathing this is the perfect spot. If you are a family on a budget, the area around the hotel has many eateries, but you will be paying tourist prices. There is a nearby convenience store, but has extremely limited choices and the prices were astronomical (e.g., $4 for a loaf of bread). Additionally, while there is a bus system nearby, it took me over four hours to travel to the airport. You really need a vehicle if you are going to do any visits outside the beach.

There was no warm water to take shower for 3 days. They claimed it is under repair and it is going be fix \"tomorrow\". Hotel management didn't offer room replacement or any discount or gratuity for 2 night rental. Other people from this hotel were tricked the same way. Older people were warming water on the stove to clean themselves. In lobby they were rude and said please complain to Expedia not to us. It was 3rd time using those hotels because of location but this time it was the last.
