The property is lovely, the staff friendly and the food excellent. BUT, this is primarily a wedding and events venue and when we arrived early October there were weddings booked for Monday and Tuesday. Italian weddings can be long, jolly affairs. Was in full swing with loud music when we arrived 2pm and wound up with fireworks around 9pm. However wedding guests staying over continued the family get together on balconies and in neighbouring room. We didn’t get much sleep. So we abandoned our second pre paid day. It is what it is, as the Italians might say - so whilst you might get lucky, at certain times of year a big event may be on most days and the pool, outdoor and indoor areas effectively used for parties. Expedia or the hotel should make this aspect of the location clear in the description.

Beautiful property, not far by car from Pompeii and Herculaneum. It was a perfect stay with incredibly friendly staff and a great room. Breakfast had lots of choices including hot options. The pool area is absolutely gorgeous, one of the prettiest I’ve ever seen.
We absolutely loved our stay.

A nightmare. The infrastructure is good and the staff is excellent, but the hotel is an event venue for weddings and birthday parties. There are parties almost every day until late at night—not only is the noise disturbing, but several areas are also unavailable for use. Terrible experience!

We had a great experience during our visit in June. Staff were great and food very good. We liked the fact that the hotel can arrange a driver (at a reasonable fee) to take you places such as the marina to get the ferry.

Overall, good experience.

Overall, nice hotel. Staff is friendly and accommodating. View from the patio was beautiful. The only thing i would like to know beforehand, is that the place was rented out for events both nights of our stay, with loud music and fireworks late into the night. So, we didn't get a chance to have some quiet time. So, i can't recommend it if you're looking for a peaceful place to stay.

The parking was easy and plentiful. The facility is large and had a beautiful garden/pool area. The staff seemed a little stand-offish but not rude, perhaps they are not accustomed to many foreigners as this place is a bit off the beaten path of standard tourists. The restaurant was very good and reasonably priced for the quality and the breakfast buffet was very nice. My two complaints are the noise from the late night kitchen staff and our room faced the street so we heard a lot of traffic noise throughout the night. Also worth mentioning, although not a deterrent for everyone, the mattress and pillows were extremely hard.

Our room was switched by our request as there was a very loud party going on when we arrived. They have events everyday and it gets loud. They do fireworks every night which was pretty the first night but it gets real old and loud every night. Pool hours suck! Pool is only open 9am to noon as they include the pool with their event rent outs.

This place exceeded our expectations. This was a last-minute booking to get us closer to the airport for an early flight. It's quite deceiving as you drive through an industrial area then come upon this oasis. Its like a private compound. The villa and grounds are gorgeous, truly stunning. The service was so wonderful and our meal was mind-blowing. We consider ourselves so lucky to have found this place.

It was great for a family of four. I can see this being great for a couples retreat or a little family getaway, you can stay on property for a couple days and be totally content. We wish we had another day here to enjoy the pool and the grounds.

Beautiful gem of a hotel on the outskirts of Naples and very close to Pompei. There were 12 of us including 4 young children and as soon as we arrived we were greeted by 4 young ladies who went out of their way to make sure that the process went smooth. It was raining and they even came out with umbrellas to help keep us dry. Beautiful rooms and beautiful grounds. My only comment on what I did not like was that they were hosting an over the top birthday party in the gardens and shot off fireworks from the property at about 10pm scaring the kids. Would stay here again in a heartbeat

Amazing place to stay. Staff were very nice. We arrive almost 10pm and when the kitchen was closed the staff kindly extended the kitchen time and made lovely dinner for us. Room is very clean immaculate with all the amenities. Sadly we just stayed there only 1 night as we were passing by. I'd have loved to stay more and use other facilities like the gorgeous pool.

Extremely beautiful & very clean villa . Staff were very friendly, helpful & even allow us early check in. Breakfast was good too. We also had dinner and it was amazing. Provided shuttle drop off & pick up at extra cost.

I would have give 5 star if the provided an iron in our room or at least a common area for ironing.Highly recommended.

Excellent facility with affordable price. Staff were always nice to answer to our questions even through English. It located southern Pompei area and need your own car to access but it is better than stay in Naples down town. Unfortunately during our stay it was specific event of Italian coming of age ceremony was taking place in the venue so it was bit noisy but with certain tolerable level. Overall we experienced nice stay with our family.

The Villa is an amazing place ! Great rooms, nice quiet restaurant with great food, well maintained picturesque grounds and parking. And they have a wonderful spa - very private but extensive - that you must try when you stay.

In our opinion, the best part is the excellent service. The staff is always eager to wait on you and attend to every need you have - whether is to provide you with things you needed for the room, carry your luggage or lookup traffic restrictions for your drive.

If you are driving, then this was also a great location that is convenient to access both metropolitan Naples and the Amalfi coast. Note that places near the beaches in Positano, Amalfi etc. are great if you just want to stay at one beach - but not quite amenable to driving in and out if you want to explore the region more broadly. The Villa was located away from the crowds but it was very easy to drive to both sides of the route (going towards Naples or taking the drive from Sorrento to Positano/Amalfi and back) planning around busy traffic than can clog the beach roads occasionally. It was good to have the option of not being limited by the vagaries of traffic especially in the Sorrento to Positano stretch. And Naples (with all its museums) was also easy to hop to (even just to grab dinner or go to one museum) - and the drive back to the quiet of the villa. Plus being close to Pompei and Vesuvius was great. The area has some nice places to shop at and visit as well.

This hotel is stunning too look at and the staff keep it immaculate inside and out.
Staff are extremely friendly.
The only downside to this hotel is the weddings, which on wedding days, they close the pool at midday, which means you kind of need to plan your holiday around when the weddings are. That said, staff do well to segregate weddings from the hotel guests.
I’d say, If you have a car and want to use this as a base for exploring, it’s perfect!
If you want a relaxing pool holiday, this isn’t the one.

Hotel for wedding, but not for regular stay

The place is nice but located really out of the way. Also, this is clearly a hotel designed for wedding and other ceremonies. There is no standard restaurant or breakfast room. All rooms are decorated for weddings and similar occasions, with large rounded white tables with white chairs and white flowers decorations. It feels a bit awkward for a regular dinner. Also, the restaurant is pretty expensive and the food was, what can I say, pretty forgettable. The spa was nice and inexpensive. Would do that again.

Very nice, BUT...

We were looking for a nice place to stay in Gragnano because I lived there as a young man. Le Zagare is a beautiful property and the room was splendid. Breakfasts were just fair and the beds were not comfortable at all. Perhaps the most important information to pass on is that this is a special events location and I wouldn't recommend staying on the weekends like we did. Very noisy with a wedding reception both Friday and Saturday. Also, still have not settled the final bill, since instead of a CC reauthorization, the hotel charged us for three nights on a two night reservation. Pleasant staff, but a hassle ensues...

This hotel is about 2o minutes from pompeii but they can shuttle you there for an additional charge. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The front desk people were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good with lots of variety. The wifi was not that great, it worked best in the main lobby.

A jewel, very affordable.

This is a marvelous hotel, extremely well maintained and the staff really go beyond to help you. it is super clean and the gardens are magnifico. The only problem is to get to the hotel. Have a good GPS and make sure you are familiar with Italian driving, and don't rent a car that is too big! Overall a jewel to discover, about 10 minutes from the ruines of Pompei.

Nt in the most appealing neighbourhood but then it is Napoli and the Zagare is an oasis of calm, except from barking dogs, with good garden and pool. It would appear to have a large wedding trade and the noise from Italian weddings can be tremendous. Also German coach party trade.
Hotel guests park in the main entrance not in the Parcheggio at the rear of hotel. Very well signed from main Sorrento road from Autostrada. Restaurant and breakfast average , there is a large Pizzeria 200m behind on approach rd but not much else

Beautiful 4* Wedding Hotel, Superb Grounds

A little out from Pompeii but Hotel runs shuttle for small expense to Herculaneum, Train Station and excavation sites. Family run excellent facilities, VERY clean rooms and reasonably priced restaurant with tasty breakfast but mainly continental with added scrambled eggs and bacon. Hotel is NOT walking distance to any pompeii attractions and/or station but shuttle will drop you off at nearest train station.

Convenient hotel with great staff

We had a wonderful stay and the hotel was exceptional but the neighbourhood was a bit run down. We chose it for the proximity to the sites of antiquity and the Amalfi coast - very convenient. The staff were very friendly and took great care of us. It's oriented towards large wedding parties and decorated accordingly. Nevertheless we don't regret staying there.

We were Royality for 3 days.

From first pulling in to Le Zagare to when we left we were treated like Royalty. We were greeted warmly and professionally. While our paper work was being taken care of we were offered a complimentary drink, at the beautiful bar located in beautiful peaceful lobby. Then we were taken to our room, notice I said taken.not left to wonder around looking for where it was. The room was with a beautiful garden view, spacious deck and immaculate. Every detail was thought of. The pool is saltwater with a jacuzzi. There is another jacuzzi on one of the decks with a spectacular view of Mt. Vesuvius. The resturant was great as was the food. Ciro the owner sat with us at dinner discussed wines and made some wonderful wine and dinner suggestions. Breakfast which is included was fabulous and included homemade pastries . When we left it was like leaving a good friends home. Staying here will always be a great memory of our trip to Italy. Thanks to you Ciro and your wonderful staff.

Hotel is highly recommended. Shall we start with the great location as a base to reach many sites in Naples basin ? Or maybe the superbly nice and friendly staff ? Generous rooms with huge terrasse ? Spa on the roof with wonderul panorama of the area ? Good breakfast ? Clean, comfortable rooms ? Ample parking ? The owner, we assumed he was the owner, sets the tone as he is very friendly and available. No single complaint - it is a little outside populated areas - but sufficient signs to easily find and gives a welcome feel of local life to offset the hectic tourist pace of Naples or closer to the coast.

A great hotel with friendly staff.

The Grand Hotel Le Zagare is a beautiful hotel at a reasonable price. The gardens are idyllic and there is an excellent roof top terrace with great views over the hills and to Vesuvius.
The food was excellent with 3/4 courses for dinner at a price similar to eating in any Italian restaurant.
It is situated right on a junction and there are no walkways for some distance but the hotel has a transfer service and are happy to take you anywhere for 5 euros per person and It's not too far from Pompeii. My husband and I found this invaluable.
After spending 3 days in a busy Rome the Grand Hotel Le Zagare was perfect for relaxing.

An Oasis in the desert ....

What an amazing hotel with a \"cream de la cream staff\". We spent three nights in the month of November and we loved it. Our experience was very positive. The grounds meticulously manicured with water fall, fountains, Palms, lighting and many architectural features in contrast to the surrounding run-down community, a perfect oasis. The staff treated us like family, very attentive to our needs. The room was very clean with a beautiful view of the garden from the balcony. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and recommend it highly to those visiting local sites.

A treasure in the midst of suburban Naples

This place is amazing both in its beauty and the customer service. We travelled in May so we were outside the season which meant we had the place to ourselves. It is a boutique hotel experience and despite the surrounding community look it is a wonderful place to stay for a visit to Pompei and Vesuvius. They treat you like royalty and the rooms and grounds are fantastic. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and recommend it highly to those visiting local sites.

great location between Pompeii and amalfi coast

The best: gragnano is located only 15 minutes from Pompeii, also close to the Vesuvio and Herculaneum. Also, there is a direct road from the hotel to the amalfi coast - but it's a fairly narrow mountain pass (not worse thAn the coastal road though). The hotel has great views of the Vesuvio and the surrounding mountains. The staff is super-friendly yet professional, with decent English and/or German language skills. Hotel is a newer building in good and very clean condition.

Not for everyone: the building and interior decoration is typical Italian \"neo-baroque\" style, not everyone will like this. And the micro-location is a bit odd - not a very touristy area.

But overall we enjoyed our stay at this property and we would recommend it to everyone who would like to explore the southern half of the gulf of Napoli and the amalfi coast.

Hotel is nice and well located, albeit in an comercial area. The biggest complaint is that the hotel is a very popular catering facility for weddings, communions and confirmation parties. They have noisy music and use the gardens and pool areas which makes it unpleasant to be there for regular hotel guests.

Virkeligt lækkert hotel, med parklignende have, der bliver passet til mindste detalje, lækker restaurant. Og venligt og hjælpsomt personale, god udsigt, der er ikke mange værelser og det virker som om at omsætningen er baseret på fødselsdagsfester, bryllupper og lign. Men dette er ikke irriterende, det skaber en dejlig stemning.

Fint men “koldt”…

Der var fint, rent, smukt og et super venligt personale. Men fliserne overalt gav en skrækkelig akustik og belysningen var overvældende og i den kolde ende af spektret. Der er noget ærgerligt over et hotel værelse hvor man ikke kan læse en bog hvis ens partner vil sove fordi der nærmest er spot på. Man kunne høre ALT.

Fint ophold - men mærkelig regler ang. poolen

Fint ophold. Dog er det træls at poolen har lukket nogle dage og man skal have badehætte på i poolen. Disse kan købes i receptionen. Sengen er mega hård og vi sov næsten ikke første nat. Vi spurgte efter en ekstra madras og fik det. Herefter var det fint. Parkering fungere fint. Lækker aftensmad og frokost. Det er også nødvendigt, da det ligger ude i ingenting.

Bien mais prendre quelques précautions

Bel hôtel et jardin agréable avec un personnel à l’écoute. Très bon restaurant et pas excessif. La piscine est agréable mais indisponible si réception de mariage. Demander une chambre au calme (côté jardin) car l’hôtel se trouve à un carrefour très fréquenté.

Realmente es un lugar no está mal pero la palabra confort es lo que busco cuando viajo en familia y este hotel no lo tenía: camas con colchones duros, desayuno escaso y poca fruta no se preocupan por todo esto pienso que no hay relación por el precio que se paga al servicio que se recibe.

The hotel looks awesome . And it’s in good shape, however the frontdesk is only reduced in kindness. Nobody explained a safe way to the parking which is 5 min walking away. Along the street super unsafe, passing through the hotel area would have been safer but nobody explained that.
Breakfast service wasn’t offering actively to prepare a coffee, so we took the filter coffee which was really horrible.
Lights in the corridors didn’t work and it was necessary to use the flashlight of the smart phone.
Was expecting a better quality.

Semplicemente eccezionale.
Struttura meravigliosa con una pulizia meticolosa tanto che tutti gli ambienti profumavano di pulito . Giardino piscina e terrazze perfette…
Colazione abbondante e molto vario in una elegante sala confortevole.

Tres bel hotel

Hotel tres agreable... accueil tres sympathique chambres tres confortables...parking privé gratuit...tres jolie piscine...bon petit dejeuner....à 15 minutes de Pompei et avec une vue sur le vesuve depuis le balcon....
Excellent rapport qualité prix.

L'hôtel est vraiment très beau. Le personnel est très gentil. Quant au restaurant, il est exceptionnel par la qualité.
So je dois mettre un point négatif, ce serait l'insonorisation des chambres.

아주 좋은 호텔이며, 매우 청결하고 조식이 훌륭합니다
폼페이에 오면 다시 방문하고 싶습니다.
city tax 만 현금으로 지불하라고 하는건 이해가 안되네요..

Hotel for travelers with a very strict budget.

The hotel was hosting a party, so that disturbed our rest. Nevertheless, we had been given 2 dirty towels and they did not replace them when we asked for it. Staff overall were kind. Would consider this hotel again if on a strict budget. The region around the hotel is dirty and looks like a 3rd country slum. The hotel itself is very cool, architecture-wise.

Flot velholdt hotel med god morgenmad

Flot hotel, hvor der alle tre dage bliv holdt en meget store fester. Morgenmaden og værelset er rigtig gode. Der er dog noget trafikstøj fra vejen.

Hieno hotelli, keskellä ei mitään.
Tv ei toiminut huoneessa ja suihkussa oli veden paine niukka. Henkilökunta oli tosi ystävällistä.
Lähellä ei ole sit kun pari ravintola yksi niistä umpitäynnä pizza paikka ja hotelli oma ravintola mene kiinni 21:00.
Eli kannattaa varautua siihen. Autolle löytyy parkkipaikka.
Uimallasta ei päästyy kokelemaan oli auki vaan 9-12:00.
Paljon juhlia sit sielä se kande ottaa huomioon.

Magnifique hôtel.

Magnifique établissement: immense, belle décoration, piscine sublime, personnel très disponible et à l’écoute des besoins (navette pour la gare la plus prochaine pour se rendre à Naples et à Sorrente), espaces verts parfaitement entretenus. Je recommande vivement.

Fint Hotel med trevliga och hjälpsamma personal, speciellt personalen i receptionen var mycket trevliga. Nära väggen då kan man inte sitta i balkongen eller terrassen. Enkel och basic frukost vilket passar inte till en 4* Hotel. Saknade vattenkokare i rummet. Lite långt från Amalfi
