We had a very enjoyable stay at Fox Kandy. The hotel is beautifully designed, and its hilltop location provides perfect views over Kandy and the surrounding hills. One of the standout moments was the morning mist covering the lower parts of the city and hills, leaving the peaks visible above it. It was a beautiful sight.

The staff were exceptional, and the food and dining experience were also very good. The infinity pool is a must after a day in town.

The road up the hill is a little winding, but once you arrive, it is clearly worth it. After a full day exploring Kandy, I’d suggest taking a tuk tuk back up to the hotel. Overall, a memorable stay in a very scenic setting.

This is a very nice modern hotel. The rooms are very comfortable, the staff all excellent and breakfast was great too. Lovely infinity pool. The hotel is right at the top of a mountain so access is a bit tricky but the views are stunning. We were informed that the hotel didn’t have a liquor licence. However, they can actually sell wine and beer - it would have been helpful to know that.

Beautiful room in a lovely hotel located at the top of a hill overlooking Kandy. The hospitality shown in this hotel is 5*.
Dinner is buffet style and was lovely freshly cooked local dishes. The breakfast was also really good. Highly recommend this hotel. One word of warning. The road to the hotel on Google Maps is steep and windy. The better route is coming behind Kandy hospital

We enjoyed the location away from the noise of the city. The TUK TUK located at the hotel entrance charges 2000 to take you down to the train station, one way. You’re better off using Uber and it’s far cheaper. Overall it was a pleasant stay. We didn't like the food at the breakfast or dinner buffets unfortunately. The quality was lacking in many of the options.

We enjoyed a 5 night stay at Fox Kandy and could not be happier with the experience. The room, hotel, facilities and grounds were spotless. Thank you Yasim for looking after our room. We enjoyed breakfast each morning and ate at the hotel on two nights, the food for all meals was really good quality. Special mention to all the staff who were all polite and courteous and were always on hand to help. Thank you all and we hope to stay again in the future.

Staff are very friendly and helpful, the views are outstanding, property is very clean and modern and the restaurant has a very menu that can suit anyone’s taste buds. The only thing negative was the road to get up the hill to reach the top, so may twist and turns, narrow road and many trucks and cars to get by, but the view is definitely worth the ride up.

The property and staff were all amazing. The breakfast and dinner was good. Getting a ride via pick me can take some time as not all drivers want to come up the hill. Make sure you a lot enough time for travel. We were going to be late for our train because a PickMe driver canceled. But the hotel made some calls and arranged for a quick Tuk Tuk ride and we made it right in time.

Stunning views from this mountainside property but is a long and winding drive to get there although this only takes around 15 mins from Kandy town. The rooms are in small blocks of 4 and set apart. Lovely buffet restaurant.

We had a suite which was great. Strange to have a dining table instead of proper seating area. If this was changed it would have been even greater. Dinner was OK but nothing to write home about. Breakfast was better. Dining area felt a bit like a school dinner hall. The staff were very helpful. Can get a bit noisy when the wind blows from the east. Rattles the large glass doors. Apart from that we would come back. The pool is good but loungers are limited. Gets busy about 4pm.

Fox resort property is an amazing find, its placed on the top of the mountain and views are amazing.
I booked a suite and it has so much space for family and amazing views. Would recommend to book a suite. Staff is very helpful, courteous and also smiling. Restaurant has amazing room service. I highly recommend this resort if you are in Kandy.

A haven on the hill

Lovely hotel sat overlooking Kandy and a sanctuary away from the business of elsewhere. As per other reviews, the road up is quite steep and winding but all of the drivers we had were very careful - use the Pick me app (Sri Lankan Uber) and it will cost about £1.50 in a tuk tuk and £2.50 in a taxi

We found the staff to be exceptional - from the very moment you arrive in reception the whole team make you feel so welcome …special mentions to Gobi who was super helpful and Oliver and Olivia who give fantastic massages in the spa.

Food in the restaurant was a good standard and reasonably priced, but whether it is there, your room or the infinity pool, this place is all about those beautiful views

Although our first night was spoiled because our room was booked next to a married family and friends whom talked/laughed and were very loud and obnoxious between 3:30am until 8am despite staff asking them to keep it quiet in the early hours. However, as soon as staff became aware of the problem they jumped on it and tried their best to help us. The manager apologized and was very kind and friendly. Also they brought us breakfast in-room so we could sleep in due to loss of hours. Also because we missed dinner as we came back after midnight after our outing, the manager arranged for us to have sandwiches and fruit, coffee and juice waiting for us in the room. On our last day because we were checking out early, they packed us breakfast for our journey out. Views are beautiful from the room. It takes about 20-25 minutes by car from town to the hotel through windy but beautiful local mountain road. Got some great sunrise photos. Everything we ate was delicious. Thank you Fox Resorts!

The staff were so kind and could not do enough for us. A lovely welcome drink of fresh juice. Amazing views from the dining room and pool area. Buffet breakfast was substantial and international. If you are driving, the hotel is at the top of a hill and the roads are challenging. Would definitely recommend the hotel.

The property was beautiful. We had the suite which was extremely spacious and really well appointed. The infinity pool was very nice and relaxing. The food was really good as well. The staff very attentive. I think the only drawback to the hotel is that although the view beautiful at the top of the mountain, it is quite difficult and takes time to get up there so it is not convenient if you want to go back and forth from the city below. Other than that, the hotel is perfect.

Fox Kandy was well set up.
There were a few villas but they were cleverly positioned, so it felt like only an exclusive place. We were given a great room with a glass shower leading to the bedroom.
Wide variety of food, excellent staff.
The pool was amazing- infinity pool in the clouds. Only con; suprisingly- a lot of bugs here, which is nice if you like nature.
I loved Fox Kandy and would stay here again.

Very friendly, going all the way to make your stay a pleasant one. I got stomach issues after my first night and told the restaurant staff. I received a call when I got to my room to ask whether I need anything as they heard I got sick. They offered to make me a breakfast/ lunch box for the next day as I had a 5-hr drive that day. A couple it improvements: please offer organic juices and not from a package, which is loaded with sugar. The AC is placed in front of the bed and it was uncomfortable feeling the cold wind blowing directly on me. I turned it off during my entire stay. The bathroom is quite small while the bedroom is spacious. The sink is large but there is no vanity space to put your toiletries on. When it’s windy, which this isn’t something the property can control, the pool is too cold to swim. Expect a day to be spent inside your room bc of the cool temps. If you heat up the pool, that would be a great perk! Also, after dinner, there is nothing to do than to go back to your room. Think of offering a 60-minute cultural performance: dance or music. Offer some entertainment as there is literally noting than a cold pool in which no one swims.

We had a lovely stay here, fabulous views and very friendly staff. Food was typical Sri Lankan, good standard and the curry’s were a delight. Perfect location away from the very busy kandy city. Room was spacious and had great. views of the mountains and we saw a beautiful sunset. A great choice. if you prefer to be away from the hustle and bustle of a major city.

Up in the hills overlooking Kandy, the Fox offered a calm escape from the crazy city below! The setting is wonderful with expansive views from a beautiful infinity pool. Staff were super friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed a lazy afternoon by the pool, there is a nice garden areas with loungers and umbrellas.

Our ground floor room was adequate with views into the trees though the 1st floor would afford better.

The restaurant had a buffet for dinner which we actually had both nights as there was a great selection and the. Sri Lankan options in particular were delicious!

Good choice again for breakfast.

Due to the location a tuk tuk is needed to get around, there is nothing walkable.

A unique hotel very high above Kandy. The compound and rooms are pleasant, and the food at breakfast and dinner were tasty. It is quite a steep, long drive up the hill, so don’t book this hotel if you need to make multiple trips into the city each day.

First of all, congratulations and well done to all the Fox resort Kandy.

If you want to stay at a truly beautiful and pristine hotel in Kandy then Fox resort will certainly fit the bill.

Perched on top of Richmond hill about 10 - 15 mins or so Tuk Tuk / taxi ride from hustle of the city (we paid between 600 - 800 LKR for most journeys in and out of the city).

However to be fair Fox resort is so tranquil and welcoming you'll probably want to maximise your stay their by staying put and enjoying the scenery and hospitality of the hotel.

The hotel is new and its clear they are out to impress.

We were greeted on arrival with cooling face towels and a fresh chilled drink. Throughout the stay all staff were welcoming and attentive, befitting of a true 5 star hotel.

The accommodation was of a very good standard with marvellous views and a lovely cooling wind.

I had one minor issue with one meal which was quickly resolved, again impressed with the way they handled our whole 5 star experience.

Once again well done to all at Fox resort.

朝食メニューは品数もあり、美味しいでした。夕食も美味しかったですが、ランチで利用すると、同じメニューでも夕食の時とボリュームが違ったり、美味しくなかったりしました。ランチはウエイターにちょっと面倒そうな扱いをされたのが残念でした。部屋からの景色は森に囲まれており、山が見えて大変綺麗でした。ただ、その眺望だけに車でグルグルと坂道を登った先にホテルが立ち、KANDYの街からは離れていて、不便な立地です。街をぶらぶらして買い物をしたいと思っても気軽に行けないです。屋外プールは森と山を眺めながら、大変綺麗な水で泳げて気持ちが良かったです。

Locate on the peak of the mountain, have to drive a very narrow way to the top, too many insects in the room otherwise it was perfect experience, shower is wide and super nice, staffs are very friendly and helpful, great view of the valley, worth every penny.

Had four great nights in this hotel. Been in Sri Lanka for over 15 years but this was my first visit here. It’s a place of rest and recovering. The staff was actually one of the best I ever had. I guess the manager doing a great work with his team. For sure I will comeback again.

Very nice quiet place (except for the occasional barking dog at night) on a hilltop outside Kandy. The road up was a bit challenging for our guide's car, but it managed eventually. Super friendly staff and VERY cheap laundry service. Also a nice restaurant with a good selection and a nice little pool area.
