We paid for 2 seperate rooms. Both have issues

Room 1
Door does not close properly
Floor dirty with sand
No soap to wash hands
No shower gel
Unused bed has sand on bed sheet and dirt marks from the previous guests
There is no switch to switch the light off

Paid for balcony with sea view but door was broken and can’t open the door
Bed was sandy
Shower drain is not draining and stood in a pool of dirty water
Bathroom is not very clean
Elevator broken so had to climb up to the 8th floor

Vent for the A/C is mouldy

We had a great stay 10/10. The property is positioned greatly. The room was nice and each balcony had gas grill for braai. They have all you need on site but there are restaurants close in walking distance and a checkers less than 5 minutes away. The staff is great. I’d like to specifically thank Sandra for finding an additional night for us when it became available. We stayed for New Year’s Eve and the fire works were amazing. They put on quite a show for the guest. All of our food and drinks were good. We were ready to extend our trip a few more days how nice everything was but they were book solid. We are really appreciative for the extra night that we were able to book even though nothing was left online. The ocean views, the pool and the beach were all great. It was my first time visiting Balitto while visiting South Africa from the US and I’ll definitely be coming back on my future trips to this beautiful country. Thank you La Montagne staff keep being great.

The property was under construction during my stay, which is very needed. I booked a bit blindly from a TikTok review. As an American, the definition of luxury is a bit different. This property is more akin to a motel. You have a kitchenette to make meals and a grill outside on the patio that leads out to the beach. The bathrooms were a mess and moldy with barely hot water. My stay was only 48 hours so I sucked it up. There is food available on the property but it's not great.

Sandra in Reception was very unhelpful with putting me and my parents on the same floor or adjacent rooms. My parents room (107) - the gas braai is broken, someone has to ignite it for you every time you want to braai, only accessories to a hairdryer but no hairdryer, the outside door (which leads right to the public walkway next to the beach)- couldn’t lock - not with a key and not from the inside. The fridge drawer was cracked so badly that we couldn’t use that part of the fridge. And worst is that we literally (unless you everytime want to wait approximately 5 minutes for the elevator) had to climb stairs between our rooms to visit each other (My dad is 70 years old - they couldn’t even give us a room with an accessible shower).
The cleaning and restaurant staff were amazing, unfortunately the attitude from that lady who checked us in spoiled our whole holiday.

The location and sea view of la montagne was incredible! To wake up to the beauty of that was amazing, we stayed in a 3 bdrm apartment. Our room smelt so strongly of the fish restaurant the entire stay, our clothes smelt of it as well. The hotel is alot more worn than advertised, pictures looked alot nicer than what we walked into as well. There was rust around the showers and mold. Our keys daily did not work for the parkade as well as our room so that also got frusterating. I communicated my concerns to the front staff as well, they seemed to just say the maintenace guys would look at it. Other guests were having the same problems. Needless to say the surroundings of nature made the trip, the hotel left something to be desired unfortunately.

Hotel is not the newest on the block but they are busy with renovations and improvements. This was not disturbing at all. Still an amazing stay though.

Service was always friendly and no hesitation to assist with requests.

Food is absolutely top notch, from breakfast to dinner.

Would highly recommend to families.

Good location, good property amentities

I have stayed at La Montagne before and enjoyed it so we returned. This stay we were given an amazing 2 bedroom apartment right on promenade which was great for views and easy access to the beach.

Only negative was that there were no extra blankets in the unit in winter and only 2 sets of towels for a family of 5. When we asked for extra towels, it took the entire day to get it after having to ask again in the evening. With blankets when we asked for an extra one, we were told sorry no extra blankets due to the dryer not working and no blanket was brought to us.

On the whole the property is gorgeous with really excellent restaurants that are priced well with good service.

We will be back in the future.

Was very pleased with the room and comfortable bed. All restaurants supplied excellent food at reasonable prices . The hotel however needs a few updated /improvements. Paint was peeling off boxes on rooms veranda, headboards need replacing .Parking spaces for SUV or large cars, very tight with pillars to maneuver around.

Room patio door not secure from outside.

Booked the hotel for location and access to the beach.
The room patio door had no key and could not be locked or closed from the outside, negating the advertised beach access.
Key eventually arranged by maintenance staff, but was informed by them that the door could not be fully secured, this apparently is a problem for all rooms with a patio access.
The beach access was recommended to us by locking the patio door from inside, depart room using the front door and go down through the hotel corridors to the beach.

The eture experience was terrible. The room was it cleaned at check in (17.30). The room smelled ike a sewer, upon inspection the toilet was used and not flushed, housekeeping refused to ckean the bathroom and toilet, stated she'd already done it. Hotel management seemed ambivalent about the entire situation. Will not recommend this accommodation to anyone, at any cost. Hotels.com was cintacted, however, not able to help resolve the issue.

Stay was overall good but disappointed that the pool was under renovation when we got there. No msg or warning to let us know that the pool will be out of service especially when you coming with 3 children. Staff were abit confused on the reservation and wanted me to pay for breakfast when it clearly states on my booking that it’s inclusive.

Beautiful seaside resort

We loved the location and the views are really awesome with easy access to the beach and promenade. The pool area is amazing and well managed by the life guard. The La Vita Spa was excellent with great specials for guests. We stayed in a recently renovated 2 bedroom unit on the 3rd floor (on road level). The unit was clean and very comfortable and quite private. It was adequately equipped. There was no walk in shower only a shower in the bathtub but the bathtub is unusually high to climb into. The cell reception in the unit was poor and there are only a few DSTV channels. The areas (children's playroom and indoor bar) still to be renovated look a bit unsightly. Still we had a lovely stay and the beach makes up for everything.

The phone was not working in my room and I reported three time, they kept telling me that the gonna fix it but they didn’t. In some other places you will find towels on floor since it’s wet. But they mentioned that they are renovating the place so hopefully in future they’re going to be better

Staff very friendly and always welcoming and always go the extra mile especially Nana. Food is exceptional (compliments to the chef and staff) and price points are excellent for the portions received.

Studio room, a little cramped and bathroom needs TLC (possibly remove tub shower with just a shower rather). Heater & Aircon does not work effectively. Overall a good stay even thou renovations are in place

Room floors filthy, left us with dirty feet. Builders using lifts and corridors meant dust everywhere. Bathroom terrible, not fit to wash our dog in! Mould and broken items.
This room should not be used for renting out.
We vacated the room ASAP.

Overall stay was fabulous. Location is perfect. However, rooms were only cleaned upon request the night before. I requested my room be cleaned on Saturday however upon arrival back to my room on Saturday at 5pm, it was still not cleaned, no change of towels either. I was told that the staff had already left.
That was quite frustrating.

We have been to the hotel before and it okey but I feel they are letting go of it. In desperate need of maintenance. We didn’t receive one room service/clean in 3 days. The room was acceptable but the floor was dirty. The staff was uninformed and had his pants undone with his pants button open. Very unprofessional. For the price.. I will not stay there again.

Raining when we arrived. Get wet filling in the compulsory gate register. Security had no umbrella and insisted that i fill in the wet book. Had to find a porter. Reception mediocre. Noisy neighbor and asked porter to get management to address it. didn't happen. Cleaning staff bothered us early. Hair dryer broken and replacement came too late after waiting endlessly. All in all, louse service at every level.

Awesome place and great location BUT.. the room and especially the bathroom is due for an upgrade. Shower in bath wasn’t good at all but really clean and comfy. Love the place and will go back. Staff very friendly and live the live music but would have liked it more if she was playing in the evening too and not only during the day.

Lovely compact room with good quality linen, towels and china, brilliant shower. BBQ area outside. Plastic chairs outside with cast iron table. Only downside if you are on the -0 floor veranda has neighbours and other people walking past on way to beach so not private. You would need to close your curtains.
