I have absolutely nothing negative to write about this Inn. They also have a restaurant that has a variety of selections to choose from. We ate here for 2 different meals and all food was delicious! It is away from everything chaotic, nice, peaceful and relaxing. Our room was simply adorable and very comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Kurt and Lisa are the BEST host/hostess/ownersz

Beautifully restored Inn. However, it’s run without people. I arrived, after being misled by my mapping software, and fortunately the owner was in the bar and helped me very graciously to my room. Without him, I would not have known what to do without a lot of email review. I am old, not a techie and that would have added to my exasperation of being misled by the map app.

My room was very well kept. The door was the wrong size or something as it let a lot of light in from the hallway. This would bother some, I suspect, as the room never got dark. No glasses or cups so I had to take my meds by scooping up water with my hands.

Amazing mattress and bed linen. This is probably the #1 thing in any hotel/inn/whatever room. I slept very well. Two lights in the bathroom; one overhead with wall switch and one over the mirror that I could not figure out how to turn on.

No info pamphlet in the room with Inn info, e.g. breakfast is located here, doors work this way, main door works this way, restaurant requires (?) reservations. I know the look Ma no hands way of operating is probably cost efficient but the word “Inn” sets me up for a real Inn with folks hanging around a living area, or by the fireplace on a cold night, or playing table games in the living area. Not having this OK as long as you know what you are getting into.

Overall a beautiful restoration and if you know the drill a great place to stay.

We arrived after a long day on a Sunday. We didn't know that the property was closed Sundays and Mondays until we saw a sign on the door. No hotel entry, no restaurant. In an area with very little cell service, we couldn't contact anyone about our reservation. We were forced to drive a couple more hours to \"civilization\" to find a place to stay. It was getting late and we had to find somewhere. What a terrible experience. I think if you are closed during an incoming reservation, there should be help somewhere. Very disappointed.

There is no staff at the facility and the automated check in didn't work well. Someone was supposed to have emailed codes several days in advance and did not, and it was not clear that it was required, as opposed to an option. When I started trying to contact the Inn and hotels.com at arrival I couldn't reach anyone. Left a message with the Inn and several hours later the owner responded. Meantime, around 3:30 (for a 3:00 check in) someone emailed me the entry code, but it went to my junk email, where I eventually found it and was able to enter. The building is charming looking on the outside, the room was nice enough but there was no one else there. Clearly they do business at other times of the week, but sign on front door said they were closed on Sunday and Mondays. Wish Hotels.com has better communicated about the eccentricities of the place.

The inn is very pretty. Make sure to have all the instructions available before you arrive. We arrived late at night, nobody was at the front desk and cell phone reception was terrible so it took me a bit of time to find the room number and code to get in. Be ready to take stairs to get to your room. The room was beautiful and so clean. We never got to see any staff on site, but our short stay was very pleasant.

This is my third time staying at Hidden Inn. This time was disappointing.

There was no extra toilet paper, no hangers for clothing, and the breakfast food was poor: the milk for coffee partly frozen, ran out of bagels and cream cheese, the fruit bruised and unappetizing.

It is difficult to get help, when there's no staff on the premises.

The room was huge - one bedrm with a king bed, lots of drawers, a closet, a desk and a tv. A livingroom with a couch, two comfy armchairs and tv. Yet, it is described as a 'solo' room meaning it is for one person - We had to pay an extra $50 for my partner which I thought was odd! There were two ACs, one in each room, that were set to 67⁰ - this Memorial wknd it was 50⁰ and raining. We tried to raise the heat but to no avail, it was blowing cold air. We were freezing - the owner offered us a blanket or a heater, we took the heater and it worked well. The sink water in the bathroom barely had pressure but that was not too troublesome. We were, however, a bit skeeved by the towel on the back of the bathroom door which we assumed was used by the previous guests. The breakfast was continental - Keurig coffee machine, packaged cereal, pastries and bagels, some apples and oranges, yogurt - available throughout the day, not just for brkfst so that was grt. We had dinner in the restaurant downstairs which was a great idea as it was decently priced, the food was good and the staff attentive. Every door had a digital lock including the main door to the outside; we were given codes instead of keys which I thought was quite efficient though we had to do a bit of door pushing/pulling upward for the lock to engage both when locking and unlocking the door. We would def stay there again.

Our first impression of the outside was that the website made it look much better than the reality. The room however was lovely. We never got maid service. Didn't empty waste baskets, replace towels almost ran out of toilet paper. Water pressure in shower was non-existent. We checked in Saturday. Restaurant downstairs very busy. The noise level in our room was awful and lasted until after midnight! Sunday there was no staff at the inn at all. Overall very disappointed

I gave a star because there is not other options for terrible, this place doesn’t have personnel, they send an access code and when you get there you are on your own. As woman traveling solo I didn’t feel safe to stay in an empty house that suppose to by ran by any kind of staff , in top of that the place is in an area that no even your cell signal works

Room was not ready upon arrival at 5:45. The property advertises breakfast, but none was available not even coffee. Property is not easy access to and from freeway, and it sits on a street with houses all around it not like it appears in the advertisement which makes it seem like it is located out in the mountains. Had a problem with a staff member that was very unfortunate BUT the owner did refund my entire room cost, which was appreciated.

Kurt and Lisa could not have been more welcoming. We booked the spacious Catskills room and it was perfect for our getaway. The check in and checkout details were easy to follow and allowed us to be on our own time schedule. Dinner was delicious and Dan couldn't have been more gracious. Get the carrot cake!! The breakfast nook was just enough for a quick bite and cup of coffee before our drive.

Rooms are just that, a room but nicely done with new fixtures. It’s a converted old home. 3 levels, no elevator. If I’m ever in the area again, I would stay here.

A Most Lovely Experience

We stayed at the Hidden Inn in pursuance of our trip to Hobart for the book village and for my birthday on Friday. During our short stay, we felt we had an amazing experience feeling the warmth and hospitality of both Kurt and Lisa. Our room was very comfy and warm. We had a lovely experience at their restaurant Friday night; both Kurt and Lisa embraced us all during my birthday meal. The food was also delicious.

Comfortable, easy one-night stay.

We loved our room. It was very comfortable. The bed was great. Nice TV with a bunch of viewing options. Breakfast was simple but good enough. We had one point on which we needed assistance, and the owner showed up quite quickly and fixed it. We will return sometime when the dining room is open because it looks nice.

Quick review

It's a bit strange to not have front desk staff available at all, not even during daytime hours. In such a remote place, it felt a little anxiety-provoking to be in a place where I didn't feel anyone would notice if anything bad happened. Nonetheless, the place is lovely; the room was very clean and cozy; and the codes for the front door and my room worked without any issue.
