This hotel is clean but terribly dated. Rooms don’t have enough outlets for charging modern devices. Linens are clean but looking kind of shabby, as are the floors. The Christmas theme decor is looking faded and dusty. Won’t stay here agin.

I booked here as a nostalgic Father's Day trip, but it didn't seem as if our room had been used in years. One sink wouldn't drain and had a spider in it that I quickly killed, but after finding a brown recluse in the bed, we were quickly transferred to a new room that had been checked beforehand. The new room was clean and felt fresher, but the place seemed stuck in time. The staff were all friendly and attentive, and the breakfast was nice. I doubt we will return, but it was an adventure for sure.

Old hotel that massively needs a remodel. Paint chipping on the paint, the enamel on the tub was chipped. Towels, wash clothes, toilet paper and sheets all felt tile sand paper. Key cards constantly demagnetized. Overall not a great expierence, but it is super close to holiday world.

Very cute old fashioned lodge within walking distance of Holiday World. Definitely 90s Christmas vibes! Great for families, good indoor and outdoor pool, free breakfast was tasty. Don’t forget to check out the big pond in the back and the kids playground in the side lot.

My son and I went for a quick trip to Holiday world and decided at the last minute to book a room. I booked through the app and somehow the date got changed for the next day. While trying to resolve with customer service I decided to just go in and speak with the staff. She was so kind and I explained what had happened and that CS was trying to call. I showed her the conversation and she was able to switch my accommodation to that night. The rooms were very nice but lacks a mini fridge.The decor for the lobby is amazing! It literally feels like you are in a cabin at Christmas time. Breakfast was good, although I wish they would have had oatmeal as a choice but nevertheless it was good.
I highly recommend staying. It was worth it.

This was probably a fun, quirky place once, but it doesn’t look like there’s been much real upkeep in a while. The room was clean enough, but nothing exceptional. Breakfast was not very exciting either. There’s biscuits and gravy, but that’s not sausage gravy, just gravy.

If you just want a place to stay, it’s perfectly adequate, but nothing special.

I was with a group, so didn’t do activities. Front desk was extremely kind and helpful. My breakfast was good. I saw many people enjoying making waffles. It’s definitely a family-friendly place. Because there’s no elevator in the building we were in, I requested a 1st floor room, and it was great, and convenient.

The check-in process was the easiest I have seen in a long time. The room was welcoming as was the lodge. The pool area was well kept for the use we saw there. Great for an overnight stay with a good breakfast. It was off-season so I assume they have more available in high season. Although, I was traveling with no kids and did not check out the recreation room and other offers.

We visited after Thanksgiving and expected it to be very festive. The hotel is very clean, but outdated. The mattresses were very uncomfortable in the family suite. Everything about the place is outdated. The breakfast was very limited and the conference room for extra seating was very cold. The pool area was kept clean, except for the spa was pretty dirty. Check-in was easy and friendly for the price of the family suite I was quite disappointed in the lack of comfort and that there wasn’t even a smart TV. The walls were also very thin and we could hear everything going on in the other rooms.

Fine stay but would not come back

Staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel lobby had a cozy feel but the rooms were pretty bare bones. It was an ok stay, breakfast and room amenities would be what you would expect from a motel.

Low rating for a few reasons:
Mainly due to the quality of sleep. Chip bags have more filling than the pillows provided, the staff did give us extra pillows which was great but needed like 3 to feel like one normal pillow. The bed was old and firm, the topper they had on the bed helped a little but was tossing all night and felt achy in the morning. Definitely not a restful sleep.

Nothing against the hotel but if you are a light sleeper bring earplugs. Parents will let their spawn run down the halls screaming and play with the room phones and call your room. I travel A LOT. Never in my life have i had my room phone called. This happened every night and morning we stayed. The phone in the room is also ancient so the ringer is loud as hell. Scared us out of sleep the first night it happened.

Hotel is also either dusty or musty, both me and my partner have allergies and they were acting up our entire stay.

Overall the lodge needs some massive updates to justify the cost of the stay.

There were parties in the parking lot, people grilling out at the back of their cars because they said they spent too much money at holiday world. They had a grill loud music everything when I went to the front desk, they said they would have the manager talk with me, but the manager never appeared even the next morning when I checked out, they said the manager would call me and that never happened. The invoice I received from the hotel was $202 per night, but I was charged over $500 through Expedia. I’m not very happy I have pictures.

This was the 3rd and last time we stay here. The prices have reached the point where the convenience isn't worth it. We can stay a few minutes a way in a nicer hotel at the same price point.

This place is huge. With a lot of potential. But it is run down and the common areas are not maintained and the room needs cleaned and also upgrades.

Lovely quirky motel, lovely Santa themed lobby. Rooms were a decent size. Great location next to theme park within walkable distance.
Not much in the way of restaurants nearby for an evening meal. Wanted to go into diner opposite but didn’t arrive until 8.20 so was told too late for sit down meal. Also wanted to visit Santas workshop shop afterwards but didn’t open till 11 which seemed a bit late.
Breakfast in hotel was great with lots of variety available. Was a lovely hotel just a bit of a shame that local area was not well set up for tourist trade generated by theme park

I would say that the reviews on Expedia for this place were totally misleading. I was expecting cabin/rustic, but clean based on the reviews.

The people working there are nice and welcoming, but our room left a lot to be desired. I understand the rustic look they are going for, but the bathroom tub, toilet and sink were dirty. Bathroom was soiled, tub had hair in it. Sink had brown stains from makeup, someone’s hair sticking on the hair dryer. Also, there was some sort of chemical rubber like smell coming from the bathroom that was unbearable.

They charge big city prices - we paid over $600 for two nights. The idea of the lodge is pretty nice, but this place is just not maintained or cleaned well.

We will try another place next time we visit Holiday World.

It was close to Holiday World which made it convenient. However, it was disappointing that we had one soap for the sink, that we had to share in the shower. No lid for the toilet set close to the tub was awkward. We booked a room for 3, 2 children and 1 adult, yet only 2 bath towels were provided. The smart TV was a challenge. We couldnt get it to connect initially. We spoke with the front desk who tried to help, but basically told us the wifi wasnt good in this town. We did eventually figure out how to connect to wifi...overall, it was an average experience.

We had such an amazing stay here. Our daughter loved the option of having an indoor and outdoor pool. The front lobby is decorated beautifully with Christmas decorations. The breakfast was delicious and we liked how it was served until 10 am. Can't wait to stay here in the future !

Upon check-in, we quickly realized this lodge was not a good value for the price purchased. We entered the room and looked around to gauge cleanliness we quickly spotted the sheets on one of the beds was very dirty. It was not just a stain. It was crusty. We had booked through Expedia. The representatives from Expedia tried to speaking to the front desk on our behalf however, the manager at Santa’s Lodge refused a refund. We quickly left and never looked back. It was worth losing our $350 because we were not comfortable sleeping there. So not only was it gross they also refused the refund. I would give it an overall zero stars if I could.

Check in was easy. First room we received smelled of body odor. The carpet was extremely worn in this room. The second room was better still needing updates. The towels and bedding especially. The pillows were too soft and used 2 per bed. Adding 2 more from the front office made 1 normal pillow. Facility is just old and worn down needing updates. I won't stay here again.

i don't usually write reviews but figure that this one was worth it. I'd say like all properties and experiences, your expectations matter a lot. So, if you're going to Santa Clause, IN, you're likely going to Holiday World as part of the trip. And if that's what you're doing and using this hotel for, it is perfect.

Location is great, maybe 2 minutes drive to Holiday World parking. It is an easy walk or drive to grocery, 1-2 restaurants, etc in case you need to supply up and/or feed your crew. Santa's Lodge is cool and quirky and fun, so just lean into it. That's what you're here for. The free breakfast is legit, though some more variety would be nice (especially for guests staying more than one day; eating the same exact heavy breakfast 2+ days in a row would get old). But between the timing of the breakfast and when Holiday World opens (10am, but they start letting people in around 9:30 to form lines etc), there's plenty of time to fuel up and feed your crew. A good breakfast will then give you some base to go hit the park and then maybe push your lunch until after the big rush.

Other aspects we liked were the pool (2 of 'em, indoor and outdoor) and hot tub. We also really enjoyed the onsite pond, which definitely has fish, so bring a pole and tackle if you are interested in a little easy fishing in between Holiday World trips.

The hotel is really dated, so don't expect it to be the nicest, most up-to-date accommodations But just know that going in and have fun!
