The hotel and room was clean! The staff were nice. The AC and heat worked great and the bed was comfy. Plenty of hot water for the shower. Several options for a quick breakfast or meal within a short walk. There is no coffee in the hotel but coffee a short walk or door dash away. There is a fridge in the room. There is a microwave in the hotel not the room, that I used every morning to make oatmeal. Hotel very conveniently located beoour commute into Manhattan via subway and the airport. Would highly recommend.

For the deal we got I thought the room was a really good size. Plus a mini fridge. The front desk staff was so friendly and great. House keeping was always nearby. Fresh towels and everything every day. Smart tv and WiFi. Would stay again! I seen some say the area was unsafe but I felt totally fine. A great stay if you want affordable and good service

I am convinced that the reviews are fake. One of the reasons I chose this hotel because there were several comments that this is ideal for a solo traveler. If you’re a woman travelling alone, this is not the place for you. The area looks sketchy as well.

Thin walls. First morning, a guy nearby was talking so loud, I could hear everything. Second night, I was awakened approximately 1:45 a.m. with someone banging on my door. Loud, speaking in a foreign language. I called the office for help and I was dismissed at first. I was told it was just some drunk person. I got up the following morning and checked out by 9:30. I couldn’t wait to get out. The front desk is enclosed in glass. I don’t know if this was from the Covid days or staff protection. That should give you an idea of the neighborhood.

I frequent NY and trying various areas. I know that I won’t be returning to this place.

I was pleased with my stay at The Capital Hotel. My room was clean and the staff were helpful. I was pleased that during my week stay it was very quiet at night (inside & outside). It was only during my last night that I heard people talking in the next room, and someone snoring (faintly heard in my room). Lol. But generally, it was quiet.

The room was a good size. It all looks relatively new.
The bathroom was roomy & modern. The bed was comfy.

The hotel is on a semi-commercial street, with other hotels & new builds around. It isn’t a nice area. But it’s very fast to get into Manhattan. It’s a 9 minute walk to the subway….., then two stops to the Upper East Side.

There’s a 24 hour deli & laundromat nearby as well as numerous popular fast food options.

There’s government housing nearby, but I always felt safe. If you keep to yourself you’ll be okay.

I’d stay again.

For the price, I didn’t mind that it was a 25 minutes subway ride to Times Square. The area of the hotel? On the walk from the subway? In the gutter there’s trash, on the sidewalks, trash, on the street, trash. The hotel has an entire downstairs that they could be using for a continental breakfast, instead they only have a cappuccino machine. Not that that’s a bad thing but I think a continental breakfast would bring in more people from all of the other US states; they love a free breakfast. Nice, modern, clean rooms.

I needed a place to stay in Long Island City area. It was a last minute type of reservation - unplanned. I browsed nearby hotels using Expedia and found Capital Hotel. I was skeptical before check in, because the price was lower than the average hotel prices in the area - I was expecting mediocre rooms and amenities. When I checked in, I was surprised, because the room was cozy, clean, modern and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I will definitely stay in Capital Hotel again. I highly recommend this hotel.

The room was messy, we found hair in our sheets. The bathroom was sticky and messy. The walls are also extremely thin and you can hear everything from other rooms. The pictures are deceiving and definitely not worth the price that was paid.
The neighborhood around the hotel is less than ideal at night. There are no street lights and police at every corner. If you are traveling as a family I suggest you don’t go out after dark.

I usually don’t do reviews, however I feel this will be beneficial to future customers who visit this hotel. Despite all the issues, they accommodated every step of the way with anything with had issues with. The first room was missing the latch at the top, the room started off really cold and warmed up within 30 minutes, a the charger under the lamp was missing. For that reason, we were moved into another room which had no issues at all and was very comfortable. Hard to find parking, but the area is cool. We stayed on the 2nd floor, (it’s 8 floors) and it was noise in the hallway here and there but nothing too disruptive. Nice Roku tv, very comfortable bed with soft sheets, and the bathroom was very spacious, clean, and cute. Would stay again!

Overall, our stay was alright. We were just staying here before taking a flight out of Rome. It's a little confusing getting in and out of the area from the airport, but Google maps was able to figure it out. We were pretty hot the whole time there (even though it was January). The shower also doesn't have anything to hold in the water so it gets all over the bathroom floor, but I also know that might just be differant than what I'm used to. Overall, though, the value was good and we felt safe. There is a McDonald's right next door if all else fails!

Great value for a quick stay in NYC. The hotel is simple and nice. Clean room, good bathroom, everything you need if you’re travelling low key. Nothing fancy, but also nice and pleasant overall. The neighborhood may seem a bit sketchy if you’ve never been to New York, but it’s honestly fine. Mostly industrial and nothing special around, but also very conveniently located, taking transit to Manhattan only takes about 4 stops and 15 minutes. Would definitely come back again.

The room was clean, and the staff was very nice. It seems to be on the line of a micro hotel, where the room is slightly smaller but very sufficient, and with few amenities. There was a.small refrigerator, no microwave, and two plastic cups for water. No coffee maker, and if you keep that in mind you won't be disappointed. It was nice to spend at least one hundred dollars less and walk to get our own coffee.

Check-in went fine. That’s where everything positive ended.

The room was in a completely unsanitary condition. Hair was everywhere: on the floor, in the towels, in the bed, in the sink, in the bathtub, and on the bathroom tiles. The pillows were stained. The floor was covered with small debris. There was only one nightstand next to the bed.

The cleaning was absolutely unacceptable and far below any hotel standard. It felt as if the room had not been cleaned at all before our arrival. Requesting additional housekeeping made no sense given the initial condition of the room. As a result, we had to buy antibacterial wipes at our own expense and clean the floors, all bathroom tiles, the bathtub, the toilet, and the sinks ourselves.

The hotel’s location is another major downside. The area feels unsafe, and returning in the evening was genuinely frightening.

This is not an emotional complaint but a factual description of what happened. Not a single word in this review is exaggerated.

The location for this hotel is convenient to a subway station. However, the designer for its room is really poor. It has no storage for any of our items. No closest, no dressers or any storage place. The housekeeper has done a poor job. She/he has failed to sweep the floor for the entire duration of our stay. Their beds are super high. In conclusion I’ve no desire to return to this place again.

The hotel is brilliant, looks newly built therefore is very modern. The rooms are a good size, queensbridge subway station is down the road from it.

Staff are great.

We asked for the room to be cleaned once in our 6 day stay - we tidied ourselves and got fresh towels but the time they did clean they didnt change the sheets which was a shame.

They provide soap, face wipes (make-up), body lotion, shampoo and conditioner.

The room is big and spacious.

I would definitely stay again.

A basic accommodation, bare-bones but perfectly acceptable, located in a bleak Queens neighborhood of auto repair shops and taxi depots. The hotel property is well-maintained, the room simple and functional with a well-designed bathroom. Other than good standards of cleanliness and comfort, the hotel offers few other amenities. Interaction with staff is brief and to-the point. (Front desk staff should be reminded to thank guests upon their checking out.)
For guests requiring public transportation, the 21st Street/Queensbridge subway station is a 5-minute walk away; Queensboro Plaza station, with multiple subway lines, is almost a mile from the hotel. There are a few convenience stores and several fast-food franchises nearby.
Overall, the significant cost-saving from Manhattan hotels is the reason to stay here.

I made a reservation for 3 people, as per the room photo, with two double beds. Upon arrival at the hotel, it was only one room with a king-size bed. When I questioned the receptionist, he told me I had reserved a room with only one bed. I showed him my reservation with a photo of two beds, but it was no use. The shower didn't heat up, and the location is terrible, a horrible neighborhood.

This is a very minimalist place. There is a small desk with chair, a cube fridge,a wall-mounted TV, a single nightstand, a small (24\") or so hanging bar, and a single small trash can in the bathroom.

There is no dresser, and not even a stand for a suitcase to be unpacked from. The bed is fine but very weirdly high off the ground (on a tall hollow base).

Also, there is no shelf of hook of any sort in the shower stall. Nowhere to put your soap or shampoo or to hang a washcloth.

The room appeared to be VERY recently renovated and was very clean, and housekeeping kept it that way through out our 5 day stay.

The desk staff was friendly and was very accommodating as to an early check in when we called that morning (and did not charge us the early check in fee)

The location is what you would expect for a spot w block from the river in what is still a transitional residential/industrial part of queens. Street parking exists but would be a challenge. It is an easy three or four blocks from the F train station and two stops into Manhattan.
