In general thos hotel chain is a good value. Some of them are better than others. The Enschede hotel is older and the restaurant was nearly as nice as others weve stayed in.

My stay wasn’t great. The rate that I picked on Hotels.com wasn’t honored at check out. When I asked the staff about it they were very rude. My room was dirty, there even was a pair of dirty underwear under my bed! Additionally the food in the restaurant was not very good.

Very pleasant stay!
Stayed here as it's close to the office. I was very happy with this decision. The room was large and nicely decorated, the bed was very comfortable, it had a huge bathroom (shower and large soaking tub!) and a large balcony. A quick taxi or bus ride brings you to the city center where there is lots of shopping and great restaurants. If you want to stay at the hotel, they have a fine dining restaurant, workout room and indoor pool. Additionally there are nice walking areas, or rent a bike for a longer tour of the city.

Hotel was beautiful and well designed but not perfect. No mini-bar or room service available after 11 (we'd arrived late) and had to wait for 30 minutes for an iron to be brought up to my room. Irons should be in bedrooms!

Although our stay was only one night everything about this hotel was excellent from the lovely spacious room (with a power shower) to the helpful & polite staff to the wonderful buffet breakfast (though this is extra charge) & our own little balcony. This is such an amazing hotel! The room was deluxe, much larger than any other room we stayed at during our European vacation. The hotel had wonderful amenities. The pool and sauna were fantastic! The restaurant served up the most delicious meals! The staff were friendly and very helpful! Our room had both a rainfall shower and a soaking tub. The place was spotless! This is just a small detail, but the coffee maker was outstanding—-I want my own! Staying at the Van der Valk Hotel made my stay in Enschede that much more special!

Great stay and great service. Reception was very responsive to all requests. They have a good Sunday Brunch which I learned about. This is my new favorite place in the area. Fitness center was a big plus.

I booked this hotel for a business trip to Enschede using expedia. I opted out for a flexible rate to manage possible changes. Unfortunately my arrival was delayed due to flight re-schedules and I promptly informed the hotel that I was not able to stay the first night. The request was acknowledged by the receptionist over the phone. When I arrived at the hotel the day after, the staff member at check-in informed me that the first night was charged as no show. No hotel manager was on duty during my three-day stay to handle this issue and offer a solution. I managed to talk over the phone with an interim manager the day after my departure that explained that the hotel complied to their contractual obligations and no compensations were possible. A completely negative customer experience.

Lovely hotel! Rooms are big and spacious, with similar bathrooms, and very clean. Great views from the upper floors, and swimming pool/gym on the top floor. Breakfast and evening meals were very enjoyable - the food was prepared to a very high standard.

Es gab in der Sauna keine Handtücher mehr sodass wir die Handtücher vom Zimmer mitnehmen mussten.
Nach der Sauna haben wir nach Sauberen Handtücher an der Rezeption gefragt aber auch dort haben wir keine bekommen und hatten nichts zum duschen und abtrocknen.

J'ai eu la désagréable surprise que la première chambre alloué était située sur l'avant et juste en face des ascenseurs 😲Après discussion avec la réceptionniste, concernant mes demandes.J'ai pu dormir au calme, la chambre était au 11ième étage et donnait sur l'arrière du bâtiment et éloigné des ascenseurs. 😅

If you pick a room without balcony, the guests who have a balcony can look directly in to your room, so you’ll have to keep the blinds shut at all time.

Prima inrichting, locatie is ook goed. Matras was veel te zacht, zakte er helemaal doorheen. Kussens veel te hoog, die combinatie alleen al erg vervelend. Een belletje met de receptie leerde mij dat ze nergens een (lagere) kussen overhadden….zoveel kamers, maar nergens een extra kussen. Ook geen dekbed trouwens.

Slechte ervaring wordt ingecheckt op een gebruikte kamer en vervolgens in een andere kamer zonder badhanddoeken, dus “rommelig” en geen goed gevoel over de hygiene! Vervolgens wordt het maar als normaal ervaren geen enkel excuus of compensatie dit terwijl de kamers niet echt goedkoop zijn! Voor mij de komende tijd geen vd Valk meer als er zo wordt omgegaan met gasten.

Great fall weekend in Enschede
The room was big and open. Nice bathroom with both shower and bathtub. We liked the fridge, but disliked that there was no real glas in the room, nor real cups. For a 4 star hotel that is low. The plastic cups was not even refilled during house keeping, also low. Otherwise good location, nice balcony lot's of parking spaced albeit only 5 with charger for EV.

Mooi hotel, met mooie kamers, eten is erg lekker, helaas twee dagen last van brandlucht bij de faciliteiten (zwembad en sauna ed). Daarnaast bij inchecken voor 3 dagen ontbijt bijbesteld. Toen bleek 's ochtends bij het ontbijt dat de receptioniste die niet goed had ingevoerd, waardoor we ietwat voor schut stonden in het restaurant. De serveerster zou het toen gaan regelen maar bleek achteraf dat ze dat maar voor 1 dag had geregeld, zodoende moesten we ook nog de andere 2 dagen regelen. Al met al een duur weekend geweest, wat ons niet volledige voldoening heeft gegeven.

Zimmer 301 war sehr sauber. Der LG Fernseher von 2015 hatte leider keine Netflix App. Dusche wurde schnell warm/heiß.

Clean and modern hotel, nice sized rooms and fresh bathrooms with both shower and a large bathtub. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Nice location and no noise from the surroundings.
