My daughter and I really enjoyed the resort. The property grounds were beautiful and immaculate. The rooms could use some love and updating but it was clean. The food was very good with lots of kid friendly options. I wish the property had more bars you could sit at or a sports bar. Overall, it was a nice resort.

First and foremost, the staff was incredible!!! Antonio the head of the entertainment staff was 150%. He ran the yoga classes in the AM, The fun and aerobics by the pool and the fun nighttime activities. I really don't know how he does it!!! He deserves a raise. The front desk staff was positive and helpful, always smiling and the restaurant staff was also incredible. I would go back for the scenery and staff most definitely! The room was ok. Cold showers were not great. The decor was dated ,but in pretty good shape. I know the price was right. The Beaches were clean and beautiful. I would say, having the pool open later would be nice, and the food offerings to change more in the buffet. Several days of the same offerings was a little boring. Overall, the staff and the pool and the scenery would bring me back.

Food: the buffet food options were fantastic, like multiple kinds and cooks of proteins ( like stews, fajitas, fresh grilled, soups for all types of meats every night...) made to order pastas, extreme variety of desserts, great tropical fruits, really nice vegetarian options... breaksfasts were similar , all types of eggs from made to order omelets to fritatas, sunny side up, with veggies, inside a tortilla... to quail eggs, great variety of breads and pastries...so basically buffet was great!! I have been to many all inclusives and this buffet was one of the best. There are also 3 alacarte restaurants, the italian was delicious, Mediterranean was just seafood so we couldnt tey as a whole family as we have one sea food allergy family member...french was all booked multiple days in advance.... one negative about food services was how long it took them to take the finished plates away. Most times we had multiple plates and cups piled on top of each other on the side which made it difficult for us to enjoy the rest of the food as the table was very crowded with stuff (very difficult because we have a baby who wants to grab everything he sees...)
Drinks: 1 pool, 1 beach, 2 by the lobby/casino bars. Cocktails and other drinks were okay overall. Most people we saw were getting pina coladas, beers or coco loco -- not the top brand alcohols ( no baileys, not good margaritas etc...) but pool bar staff were great.

Great spot for a family vacation! The resort is lovely - clean and well-maintained - with friendly staff. Wide selection of food at the buffets. Evening entertainment was okay - the most popular was karaoke. Plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the property, even when it’s busy. We enjoyed the beach. The water is sandy/cloudy so a day trip to clearer water is nice if ocean swimming is important to you.

We had an amazing stay at this resort and would definitely come back! The entire place was very clean, including the beach, which was beautiful and well maintained. The staff truly stood out – everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming, to the point where it felt almost overwhelming in the best way.
The food was great with plenty of options for everyone. I personally loved the steamed vegetables and fish, while my husband enjoyed all the more indulgent choices. The fresh fruit was absolutely delicious.
If I had to mention one small thing, the rooms could use a bit of a touch-up, but they were still very clean and comfortable.
Also, just to note – the water isn’t that bright turquoise you might expect because of a nearby river, but it didn’t bother me at all. The beach itself is lovely and relaxing.
Overall, a wonderful experience!

The staff was very friendly. The buffet was so so if you have food, allergies, it is very hard to eat there and things are limited. There was not a lot of things for kids to do. The beach, the small kids wadding pool and the big pool. The water at the beach is nothing spectacular. We had a nice vacation but be prepared to just sit eat food and have drinks. The drink are basic but good. They did offer excursions we did not do any excursions. We heard back from people that they were OK. They had a nice time. They did have some kid activities during the day. They also had water aerobics and a few night events. Overall, it was a nice day. Wish there was more to do. They say there are waterslides there however there are not. There is a gym and also an adults only side that you need to pay more for. The restaurants are less than spectacular same food as what is at the buffet. We went one evening and then skipped the other evening.

Upside, staff nice, housekeeping good and pretty location. Great beach front and view room, food overall good! Good nighttime entertainment.
Downside, Maintenance very lacking. Interior door handle fell off third day there. Couldn’t leave thru door had to use our slider, thus leaving room unlocked. Reported 7 different times to front desk and thru app and telephone told someone coming never fixed. So 4 days with no fix. Tv, every channel after 30 seconds would lose sound.

Overall, this hotel offers very good value for the price. The property is smaller than some nearby resorts, but that makes it easy to navigate and rather comfortable.

Landscaping and exterior areas are very well maintained.

Pre-arrival communication could be improved, particularly regarding calls since they themselves shared a disconnected phone number with me and then promoted me to find another number online.

I would not recommend pre-arranging transfers, as they are overpriced, and taxis and Uber from the airport are significantly more affordable.

The room is clean but somewhat outdated. The mattress is firm, the TV is small and not a smart TV, and the shower is on the smaller side (taller guests may find it tight). The bathroom occasionally had a slight odor.

The buffet is good/average overall. Consistent, but nothing particularly standout. The Italian restaurant was excellent and a highlight of the stay, with outstanding service by Yorquis.

Service throughout the resort was generally very good and comparable to, or even better than, some higher price point properties.

For the cost, this is a solid option.

The resort was about what you would expect given the lower cost compared to many other resorts. The entire place is outdated and many of the photos come from the Adults Only (slightly updated) property. The rooms need a refresh. I am sure Hyatt has plans to accomplish this with their recent heavy investment in Bahia. Our A/C barely worked. We had to sleep with the windows open every night so that we would not over heat. Food was very alright. I’ve been to several resorts with significantly better food. Never got sick which is actually an accomplishment for many resorts tbh, but nothing was outstanding. The beach was pretty nice but the water does have jelly fish. We walked further along the beach, away from the resort, and saw dozens that had washed ashore, although the resort does do their best to limit this in their section. The pool is pretty solid, but it can be quite loud for periods of the day, with music blasting. The service overall was pretty solid at the restaurants, buffets, drink bars, service desk, maids, etc. However, I will definitely be spending more money next trip to go somewhere a bit more luxurious and modern.

I just got back from an incredible week at Bahia Principe grand la romana , and I have to say, the highlight was hands-down the staff. This place already has beautiful beaches, great pools, and solid food, but what made it unforgettable was the exceptional service from Super Felix and his incredible crew.
Super Felix is a legend! From the moment we arrived, he and his team went above and beyond to make sure every single day was fun, relaxed, and full of good vibes. Whether it was organizing activities, checking in to see if we needed anything, or just bringing that infectious energy that turns a good vacation into a great one, Felix and his crew were always smiling, professional, and genuinely caring. They made us feel like family – seriously, shoutout to the whole group for keeping the spirit high and everything running so smoothly!
At the bar, Alexis and Roberto were absolute stars. These guys mix the best cocktails I've had in the Dominican Republic – creative, strong when you want it, perfectly balanced, and always with a smile. Alexis has this magic touch with tropical drinks (his piña coladas were next-level), and Roberto kept the good times rolling with his jokes and quick service, even during peak hours. They remembered our names, our favorite drinks, and made every visit to the bar feel special. If you're staying here, head straight to their station – you won't be disappointed!

The resort staff were incredible. Everyone we interacted with was kind and helpful. The resort itself was very well maintained and the common areas and the beach were beautiful.

The only problem with those common areas were the smoke detectors that beeped nonstop throughout our trip. We didn’t spend time in the main building because of the sound.

The quality of the food was also a bummer. A lot of the food at the buffets and restaurants was either bland or dried out. We ended up buying VIP passes to their other hotel (the bougainvillea-adults only) and really loved their buffets and restaurants. So it all worked out pretty well.

I did have some hiccups such as the hot water does not get hot and my t.v. wasn't working but they came out to fix it. Good evening I have been staying on your property since Thursday and I’m pleased. First let my key card never works after using it for a day so I’ve had to call the front desk for someone to come open it which causes me to be locked outside late at night and I’m a female.Also there has been frogs in my toilet and bathtub ,also the ceiling fan hasn’t worked properly it shuts off after running for 20 minutes and lastly the water doesn’t get hot so I’ve been taking cool showers since I been here so some one needs to accommodate me for these issues I’ve been having.Also the resort doesn’t match the website the lobby area was really nice but the rooms was dirty and out dated there are cracks in the foundation .i spoke with someone about my issue and no one offered to give me a free stay.

It was a nice place to visit for the weekend. Staff was friendly and it was clean. Definitely left something to desire when it came to food and drink though! We didn’t learn until we were already there that they only allow 1 dinner reservation for every 3 days of your stay??? WHAT!! So it was buffet for 2 of the 3 nights that we were there. The buffet was OK, nothing special. The coffee served out of a vending machine The Italian place was good for dinner, food was good and we were NOT rushed, but I can’t comment on the other restaurants since we were only allowed to eat at a “Special” Restaurant once during our stay. This hotel has another hotel on property and we were able to use their pool and bars and their buffet for lunch (not certain how that works for dinner though). The all-inclusive alcohol at this hotel DOES NOT INCLUDE TOP SHELF ALCOHOL (what they have of it anyway) there’s an additional $5 charge PER DRINK if you wanted what they call top shelf (Grey Goose, Jack Daniels, Jim Beam…etc) HOWEVER, if you walk to the OTHER hotel’s bars they DO INCLUDE top shelf alcohol??? Just strange since its the same hotel brand just a few minute walk, but definitely a PIA. They lost power a bunch of times while we were there but only for a few minutes each time. The AC in our room was sufficient to keep our room cool, However the AC fan was loud and persistent and my fiancé had a hard time sleeping with it running, but there’s really no choice if you want to keep your room cool.

Do not feel safe, our room was broken into and cash was stolen, tried to bring, blame my guest and wanted to go through all her personal female items, when they did, they smirked at what she had. Discovered that the sliding glass door window that was supposed to be stationary was not stationary and that’s probably how someone entered the room. Very disappointed.

My flight got cancelled and I spoke to a hotel staff about extending my stay and he gave me a rate to extend it and I asked him could I lock it in now he told me to come the next day before I check out and he could give me a better rate. I go on the next day like I was told only to find out there is no more rooms available now I have to pay a higher rate to stay in the adults only. I will already be missing work and to have to pay more just a bad impact on me financially.

The coco bar Roberto always making my delicious drinks with a big smile at the restaurant we were very impressed with Oscar his service was amazing!!
Also at the front desk Hanel was able to help us with a request that we asked before and wasn’t done with the other person at the front desk
The entertainment team were very good shout out to Evelyn please !!
Everyday was a lot of activities throughout the day .
The only problem we had it was the beach water but we understand that is part of the nature.
Always we come to Dominican Republic to enjoy your service and happy people at every place we go .

Although the staff was friendly and welcoming, the overall experience was disappointing. The food was average, and as beach lovers, we were especially let down by the beach on the property. The water was full of jellyfish, making it impossible to swim or enjoy the ocean. Unfortunately, we ended up having to pay extra for transportation, food, and beach accessories and travel about 40 minutes to a different beach. This was frustrating and not what we expected from our stay.

The pool area was very clean and well kept as well as the beach areas. Comfortable lounge chairs enough for everybody. The a la carte restaurants were spectacular and the buffets were very accommodating for everyone The only downfall I had was the pool got very loud with the different activities they had at it during the day and with one pool you really couldn't go anywhere else besides the beach which wasn't the worst. The walks on the beach were very enjoyable. Didn't have to deal with vendors or anything of sort. There was one little vendor hut up the way but they didn't overwhelm you. They asked if you wanted to buy their merchandise and left you alone. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

When my partner and myself booked this hotel, based on all wonderful pictures online, we were waiting to have a nice experience there. We had booked a 'superior' room, but when we arrived, the experience was devastating. We asked to change the first room because the safe wasn't working, and we were moved to another room, but that room was even worse. From the moment we arrived, they gave us a huge, old-fashioned key when usually hotel keys are electronic. There was no Wi-Fi in the room. Two of the electrical outlets were broken in the second room. The bathroom curtain was stained and dirty. The bathtub was chipped and dirty, and the air conditioning unit wasn't working properly. In short, we had to upgrade to another hotel for one week, but paid 11 days in full in Playa Bachata. I wish to get a refund, and tried to do it, but their polices didn't allow it... So my learned lesson is: read all reviews before booking any hotel. We just looked at the pictures online. This hotel needs a lot of renovation to provide better quality service to its guests. As for the staff, they were very good, very cooperative, and very attentive, but the hotel itself needs renovation.

The room was very clean and the staff friendly and nice. The amenities were great except the pool table for wich you have to pay. Amazing beach.
