Hermosa ambientación medieval con las comodidades modernas y muy cálido. Impecable el personal. Pero No es en el palacio real sino al lado. Todo reconstruido con buen gusto pero no es original, porque viendo las fotografías en el palacio al recorrerlo, lo que había originalmente eran solo ruinas y nada alrededor. No había ni pueblo en esas fotos antiguas. Los ladrillos exhibidos y los pisos son diferentes de los que hoy uno disfruta.

Beautiful historic hotel located in the \"old castle\" portion of the castle of the King of Navarre. The initial building dates back to Roman times and was add to by the Visigoths and again in the 13th century. The hotel is beautifully decorated, clean and right on the center square of the town. Staff are very friendly. The superior rooms we stayed in were individually
decorated and the beds were comfortable. I highly recommend the hotel, especially if you love staying in unique historic locations.

The front desk was so helpful in arranging early morning cabs to Pamplona for the Running of the Bulls and helping us with the extended bus routes due to the festival. My teenagers were absolutely in love with the castle next door and the Medieval feel to the town. Olite is off of the beaten path a bit and we were so glad we spent a few days there.

You have to drive your car through the small opening to the medieval town to unload your luggage or else you will be driving around for a long time trying to figure out and unless you speak good Spanish you will have a hard time because most people do not speak English at this particular place

only downside was not the hotels fault in that the night we stayed there was a fete on and it was extremely noisy all through the night!
We will visit again on a quiet night and fully expect that the hotel will deliver an excellent stay.

Stop in Olite and stay in the Parado!

This was our first Parador and we enjoyed it so much. Located adjacent to the most wonderful castle made it so much more enjoyable.
Our room, for 2 adults and our 18 yr old daughter was comfortable and adequate in size. Pillows were just right and the bed was perfect.
Breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruit, baguette, cheese, meat, jams and yogurt. If you wanted eggs they were very accommodating. The Nespresso machine was a bonus as they offered regular coffee. We look forward to our next Parador.

The Spanish were geniuses, back in 1928, to start creating a very large network (\"red\" in Espanol) of first-class hotels out of very old, sometimes decrepit, generally useless palaces, monasteries, and the like. They vary somewhat in quality but, in my experience, are never less than good. And nowadays prices actually seem lower than five-ten years ago. Some are less than $100/night. (Meals still tend to be quite pricey.)

This parador, at Olite,in the lovely Rioja wine country, is more than that, but worth the price, esp. if you like staying right in the city or, in this case, town. The location is ideal: practically next door to Olite's big attraction, a castle, and 3-4 minutes from an array of small streets, cafes, shops, and the like. Esp. liked the parador's staff, which not only cheerfully sent a fax for me but then followed up on when it did
not 'go.'

Charming fairy tale castle but not easy to find

After driving around Olite and seeing all the signs for the Parador , we missed an inconspicuous sign leading though a medieval arch , which leads you to a small square , where there is 15 minute parking to unload -- and then drive and park outside the city walls ( about 150 meters ) . You must find the Orly Café to find the arch you need to drive through . The hotel itself is a part of the magical ( reconstructed ) medieval castle , which will be every child's dream . The rooms are of varying sizes with very differing views -- ask for a room with a view . As with most Paradores we have stayed at , breakfast is a wonderful experience .

Got a good deal on the room at this beautiful hotel. Had a fabulous though pricy meal in the restaurant. Did not eat breakfast as it was not included and 18 Euro pp was a bit much. Went to a local cafe instead. Nice town, the Royal Palace is interesting and well worth the entrance fee.

In many ways a lovely parador. Lovely building inside and out. Friendly staff. However although hungry unable to get any food from the cafeteria ( as they had run out ) or from the restaurant until 8.30pm.

The Parador was outstanding. We had one of the terrific rooms in the old castle - comfortable seating area, twin canapy beds, and a fire place large enough to stand in.
Very large bathroom and dressing area. The room and the public spaces were very comfortable. The staff gracious. We had half board - dinner was extraordinary good. Daniel the waiter wonderful. This was a high point of our two weeks in Spain. What a great property.

Living in History

Experience a parador in Spain is essential and completes one's taste of the life and living the history of Spain. The Parador de Olite, located inside the walls of the historic town, is grand and offers a sense of the elegance of life a long time ago. The restaurant would not disappoint and waiters are very helpful. The room is large as is the bathroom.....essential to American travelers. The only draw back is the age of the bed. It could be better. The small town is historic and the bodegas offers lovely riojas.

A Castle fit for King and Queen

This is a wonderful facility in a quiet little town about 20 miles from Pamplona, a 30 minute drive or 45 min by bus. The Parador is actually the original quarters of the King and Queen of Navarra, completely restored with all the modern amenities but maintaining that unique antique castle mystique. The service is, well, fit for king and queen.

The rooms are a bit small, but remember it is a 500 year old castle. They are very clean, the WiFi works well and you have DTV with access to US News Channels.

The plaza in which it is located is like a draw-back to the 14th century, surrounded with old stone buildings. The Castle next door is a must visit; you will be enchanted with its architecture and scenery. A unique photo opportunity site.

The restaurant is better than average, which in the Basque region equates to a 4 star anywhere else, and the breakfast is superb. Around the corner from the Parador is a small Michelin recommended restaurant named \"Merindad de Olite\" where you will be treated to a superb gastronomic feast. They serve one of the most unique pork dish ever tasted,they sandwich the perfectly seasoned pulled pork between two thin sheets (almost looked like cookies) made of pork crackling; outstanding!

The tranquility, scenery and friendly service makes the Parador de Olite a unique romantic get-away choice. I highly recommend it.

An enjoyable stay only spoilt by ineffective air conditioning in the bedroom. This was a pleasant early summer day in May. July and August could be very uncomfortable.

Exceeded our expectations!

We were super excited to stay in a castle as it was on our bucket list. When we got there we were not disappointed. Our room was in the newer part of the castle but we didn't even notice until much later. We had a great view from our balcony and had a really nice meal in the restaurant downstairs. Great experience, would highly recommend!

Luxury in an historic castle!

Our family stayed in the Parador for one night, and we used two rooms. Both were very clean and comfortable, with excellent showers-- plenty of hot water. Both were decorated superbly and in keeping with the old castle. While we were there, the village had a festival and the towns people were decked out in their renaissance best. Truly a memorable stay!

It was so much fun. Our favorite spot to stay and relax after being in hectic Madrid and Barcelona. Do it, go there.
Looked just like pictures in the website. Perfect.
Our goal was to stay in a Paradore. So happy we picked this one. Fun to sleep where Royalty lived. I think it's perfect for adults. Went via train from Barcelona, actually two trains and a short walk to the Paradore. It looks more like trouble when you make the train reservations than it really is. By car it would be a piece of cake. Love, love the town. Just enough restaurants, and outdoor tables for drinks and tapas. Took a day trip to Pamplona for San Fermin, easy 30 minute bus ride.

Location, location, location

We spent one night at this parador. As with all paradors we have stayed in, the room was quite underwhelming. The castle itself is lovely and the town is quaint, though more than quiet when we were there. The restaurant is horribly overpriced, again, as all paradors are. The front desk staff was very, very warm and helpful. The restaurant staff was the opposite. The breakfast was ample, but the hot table wasn't working and therefore the hot dishes were dangerously lukewarm.

In short, this is the one night of our vacation that we would not repeat if we had it to do over again.

This parador does a good job

Very comfotable. Restaurant good but rather staid, can be expensive.We had a deal and felt it was good value, the standard room rate at 200 euro was far too high. There are also deals for over 60's in several Paradors which might be worth checking. Olite is in a good location for day drives but in summer this might be very hot. Pity there are no yraditional swimming pools

I think it would be better if you stated that there are no parking facilities at the hotel and you have to park your car some way away. You may unload your luggage at the front of the hotel but you have to then park it elsewhere. Otherwise very good. Dining was expensive in the Dining Room but the cafeteria was adequate.

Perfecta localización junto al Palacio Real de Olite. Del Palacio Viejo (que es donde se encuentra el Parador) sólo quedaron en pie los muros exteriores. Es decir, todo lo demás es reconstruido posteriormente. La decoración de las salas comunes está bien, ambiente histórico-rústico, aunque podrían modernizarlo un poco.

Al ser un Parador se sobreentiende un cierto prestigio y, la verdad, la habitación que nos tocó fue en otro edificio anexo (que se supone aún más nuevo que el anterior) y el estado es digno de cualquier hotel de hace 30-40 años (luego nos dimos cuenta que está catalogado como 3* y nos decepcionó un poco). Sólo con ver la puerta de la habitación ya deja mucho que desear. La habitación es amplia pero el baño está muy machacado (espejo oxidado, un montón de azulejos del suelo rotos...). Al hacer la reserva sabíamos que la tercera cama es un sofá-cama, pero es que el colchoncito era papel de fumar...

No tiene parking. Sólo se puede acceder con coche a la plaza sin que te multen durante 15-20 min para descargar maletas. Personal de recepción muy amable, nos dieron indicaciones para aparcar gratis fuera del casco histórico.

Le bâtiment et le cadre sont magnifiques. Mais la qualité des prestations laissent à désirer pour un Parador : le restaurant n’est vraiment pas à la hauteur (cher et médiocre) tant au dîner qu’au petit-déjeuner, les petits attentions en chambre (ce sont des détails mais ils ont leur importance) ne sont pas au rendez-vous (1 savonnette pour 3 jours même pas remplacée quand elle est finie, pas de pantoufles ou de bouteille d’eau offerte…). Mais le séjour à Olite reste un très beau souvenir !

Établissement situé dans un ancien château, le cadre match parfaitement avec les standards de la chaine \"Paradores\".
Service relativement rapide en room service. Pour information, le bar n'offre pas de snacks chauds. Il faut donc utiliser le room service qui utilise les équipements de la cuisine de l'hôtel à compter de 20h30...
Le petit-déjeuner offre un large choix de produits. Néanmoins, nous attendons toujours les saicisses basques commandées auprès de la serveuse (plats chauds à la demande).
Concernant la chambre, elle est aux standards \"Parador\" avec une vue sur les vignes.
