Great stay after the solar eclipse
Stopped here after the solar eclipse to go snowboarding. Arrived at 7pm, check-in was fastest I've seen anywhere and friendly. Parked by the office, room was right above. For the location right on Killington Road, you can't beat this for the price.

The owners are quite nice, so I give their friendliness five stars the property is extremely outdated almost rundown. The furniture is dated. The bedspreads are stained. The rug is dated the room, smelled like smoke, and it’s a non-smoking room. They need to invest a couple of bucks in simple things like new pillows. I just close my eyes and went to sleep with a towel over my nose because it smelled so bad Put some money into your property. It doesn’t cost much.

I liked the room a lot with the additional space for closet. It was a neat location next to Yoshi's. I hiked to Pico Peak but didn't reached Killington Peak in the rain. I have a neat photo of a stream and berries on the AT.

I booked a night here specifically because I was traveling with my kids and dogs. I searched “dog friendly” After we arrived and checked in, we were notified that dogs are not allowed there and we needed to leave. He argued with us and took the room key from the door and shut the door on us, saying that it’s “not his problem”. I asked for a refund and some formal notice and was provided with a printed price of paper to take a picture of stating that the dog policy changed as of Jan. 1,2023…. We would have been there Aug. 18…. I would think that is plenty of time to update all web resources. We went to the Days Inn in Rutland instead, where it cost an extra $50, but the kids got to use the pool and we got fresh waffles for breakfast.

I had to clean bathroom myself when I arrived with my own cleaning disinfectant. Was disgusting—hair on bathroom ground all around and used toilet with residue on seat. Absolutely disgusting. TV didn’t even work! And management knew because they said what are you in room 4?! Management was unsympathetic after notifying them about family emergency and having to return home 15 minutes after arrival and 3.5 hour ride. Lied to me about owner not being there and only being named RaJ when I asked for his full name to speak with him. Said nobody has ever left their hotel early for an emergency when I asked what has happened I. Past. This place should not be on Killington access road…..out of place.

Really needs to be priced cheaper given the condition or updated to make you feel like you didn't just get ripped off. Great location, that helped for sure.

Happy Bear is located right on the main road and is just a few minutes from Killington Ski Resort. This was the best part of the motel. This property is cheap for location, but you get what you pay for. The bedding looked super old and very used, bed was not comfortable, most of the furniture was crooked, the microwave and fridge were also super old, but working, the toilet was also loop sided, and the thermometer did not work for temp control. While it was superficially clean, you can tell in nooks and crannies that they don't do a deep clean of the rooms - I found other people's hair in the bathroom for example. For the 3 days that I stayed, 2 days had power outages for periods of time. Apparently this was due to other guests using a lot of appliances, but the staff was rude about the issue and not sympathetic or apologetic in the least.

The property needs serious work. Not only is it falling apart, the linens and bedding are not in good shape. There was a blood stain on my sheet. It was NOT clean. The bathroom door has not been wiped down in a while as it was dirty around the door knob.
I am guessing the people are not at the front desk at checkout because they dont want to hear about it.
We are not that picky but we would not return to this property. I would prefer purchasing a blanket and sleeping in my car.

This place was very dirty. The towels had stains on them and the pillow case looked like it had a blood stain. The rooms are very outdated and it doesnt look like they clean anything between guests. When I booked it had stated that there was free breakfast. When we got there they said thag they did not have breakfast at all. The staff was ok and friendly though. I will not be staying here again.

We go to Killington about once per month. This was our first time staying at this place and it was our last. Small, unbelievably dated with zero amenities. Breakfast was advertised but beyond coffee in the \"office\", I didn't see anything truly edible.

I drove 12 hours to get to the property. I had booked thru Expedia for $98. The listing said they were \"Pet Friendly\". When i got there they wanted to charge me $50 for 2 small dogs. This was not disclosed when i booked. I consider this to be \"Bait and Switch\" so I left and will never go back. When I called the next day to get my refund the man was rude and told me to call Expedia to get my $98 back. Dont stay here. Tina LaBruzzo

we did a two night stay while hiking the Appalachian Trail. very good location and restaurants/bars within walking distance but the room while met minimum standards for a place to sleep and shower, there were ants in the room and uncleaned hair in the shower.

The guy at the front desk came to our room late to tell us to turn our music down and then reminded us that it was a non-smoking room. We were not smoking in the room! Perhaps a racist assumption. The coffee was terrible and there was nothing offered for breakfast (perhaps due to COVID). Also there was not enough shampoo and towels in the room for two people for two days.

After a long day of being outdoors on the mountain, all you do is pull into the parking lot, park your vehicle, and you’re inside your room in 4 seconds.. Can’t beat the efficiency.
I realized how much time I waste at hotels finding parking, then walking approximately 5-7 minutes to my room with a stupid mask on.. gets old.
Plus this place is in walking distance to two of the best restaurants in Killington. The Garlic and Sushi Yoshi.

Run Down Budget Motel
This motel is for college kids. It is old and run down inside. Beds were not comfortable, furniture is old and beat up. Walls are thin so you hear all the kids coming back from the pickle barrel in the middle of the night. This place is fine as a budget option when the price is in the $60's for a night but not for $160/night. The free breakfast was a couple pieces of bread and some mini muffins. I would not stay again. The only positive was the staff was friendly. There also was not enough parking in the lot when i checked in late.

The hotel is in a fantastic location. Parking is really easy (no downhills to contest with like at other spots). Walkable to multiple restaurants and an easy drive to Killington. Breakfast was basic, but nice to grab a cup of coffee and muffin before heading out.
There aren’t a ton of amenities here, but for skiing we really just need a comfortable place to crash after being on the mountain all day. Shower was really hot and great after being out all day too!

I have been traveling New England in October since I was a baby- I am very accustomed to New England motels and this did NOT hit the mark. Part of the enclosure that held the stairs to go to the 2nd floor was boarded up with plywood. The room was tiny, it was my husband my 2 very small children and we could barely get around. We only received 2 towels- we shared, cleanliness was lacking, what was in the room seem to be the cheapest way to provide anything, what channels came up on the tv were snowy, old, outdated and dirty. I would not recommend this motel.

Location was great. This property is run down. I found mice droppings on the bed. The housekeeper did not close the door completely when the room was serviced which was a bit concerning. Amenities were horrible! I had to go buy soap. This place was not worth the almost $400 I paid for two nights.

Room wasn't cleaned ... used towels were hanging on shower rod, black dog hair were on sheets when we pulled back covers (we have a yellow lab, so not our dogs hair) & the room had a horrible smell. When we went to check out a day early I rang bell for service at front desk several times & yelled hello a few times; after 5 mins I just wrote a quick note that we were leaving. The condition wasn't surprising (it was clean)...you get what you pay for, but my biggest issue is that they advertise \"breakfast included\", but it should be considered a \"continental\" breakfast. If you want coffee, OJ, a mini-bagel and cereal, then you will be satisfied. there's nothing more than that :-(

Last weekend was the fourth time my friends and I stayed at the Happy Bear. What do they say are the three most important things about real estate? Location Location Location. Lucky for Happy Bear because it's location is literally the only reason we stay at the Happy Bear. It is right across the street from Pickle Barrel and Wobbly Barn (the two most important establishments on the mountain aside from maybe the ski trails). Happy Bear is priced appropriately. I would rather pay an extra $200 per night and have a few hundred more amenities like adult sized towels, a shower that hits above my belly button and a parking lot that doesn't double as a wet ice skating rink. The staff at Happy Bear are friendly and courteous but they are savvy. Don't try to get an extra guest past them, they'll catch ya. They meter the occupants by limiting your bathroom towels to two per room. Some day my friends and I will buy this joint, fix it up and make it look more like the Ritz and less like my moms basement. Heat works, sheets are clean. Fox News comes in fuzzy. There are no outlets to plug your phone in except for behind the 1999 college dorm room refrigerator set atop an old wooden chess that doesn't open. We will stay here again, and again only because I literally can not afford a DUI.

Pulled back sheets yo go to bed and there was hair all over the pillows, grabbed one from the closet and there was hair all over it. Appears they don't change the linen between guests
