The beach was so beautiful, clear blue water and soft white sand. It is also close to the buffet restaurant with a large variety of food and drinks also large dining area with a variety of food. Large pool area with entertainment, fun and exercise. Evening entertainment in lobby, beach and theater. Great place, looking forward to going back.

We had a pool view room. Be aware, there are no elevators. My husband has mobility issues and the only pool view room available was the second floor. They could have downgraded us for a first floor. Our room smelled so bad of mold and mildew. It was so humid in our room that our clothes and sheets were constantly damp. I actually had to blow dry my underwear one night. There are no waiters around the pool unless you were privilege. No food allowed on the pool deck unless you are privilege. The only ocean front restaurant was only open to basic customers for lunch. Food was ok. Pizza was good. Favorite was the French restaurant, but make sure the men have long pants or they won’t let them in. Other restaurants are reservation only, so unless you are privileged, good luck. Nearly impossible to get a reservation. We fortunately had a concierge, which was helpful, but not fool proof. Depending on the hostess, they would try to get you in if you walked up, but not all were willing to do so. Pools were wonderful. One noisy and active and one quieter. Beach was beautiful. Plenty of chairs and shade IF you get up early. Same around the pools. You will get a chair, but probably not an umbrella. Many people saving chairs and you never see them. There are no staff walking around and monitoring this, so you are on your own if you want to remove a towel. I did, and nobody ever came back to their chairs. Staff are wonderful!! Also, unless you are privilege, don’t expect top shelf booze.

This was our third time at OB and Sand. Overall, it is a wonderful, oceanfront resort. The beach is beautiful and clean. The food is very delicious. We took advantage of the bowling, archery, magic show, and karaoke! The only negatives were check-in being slow and concerning and the dinner service was beyond slow at the Mexican and Villa Marina lunch.

My main complaints are... #1. Poor A/C in the room. #2. They try to hook everyone in purchasing their \"Privilage\" vacation program... I don't appreciate wasting 2-3 hours of my vacation time trying to persuade me to \"Buy\"! #3. The food was just ok... overall the buffet was pretty good! Route 66 and the Italian restaurant were dissapointing! The staff overall is friendly. I would say pur stay was OK... nothing spectacular though.

This resort is beautiful. The things I would improve are as follows: the LVP in our room was coming apart, the room AC only went to 75 degrees, more trash cans all over the resort, the beach towel thing was confusing, sometimes we needed a card and sometimes not. We were told our room had beach towls which they did but it was confusing when we traded them in.

Con: Got Dirty room at first, after complained moved to another room we made sure they clean room thoroughly before we moved.
Mini didn't restoke coffee, coffe cream packages everyday, we have to asked for it.
Most of the time food were cold, salty, over cocked meat.
Resort, furnitures, lounge chairs shows ageing, need Updates seriously.

It was horrible from the start. We upgraded to privilege to get the pampered experience but it was the exact opposite of that for the majority of the stay. Front desk was very slow with checkin and didn’t go over much with us at all. Took 30 minutes for them just to verify that we did indeed already pay online in full even though it clearly stated that on the invoice in front of him.
We then had to switch rooms three times due to broken lamps barely hanging in the wall, broken wall art or missing all together. Then the next room had major plumbing issues and the toilet started over flowing while also having the sink and shower randomly drilling and gurgling. Apparently the room above us also had flooding because they came to our room before we had the chance to tell them about our issues.
Finally got a third room however the guy helping us move our luggage into the new room, broke our suitcase handle making it unable to be usable as a roller suitcase.
The restaurants were very slow with any kind of service and yes we are on vacation but waiting over 30 minutes to even get helped or acknowledged is ridiculous. Most the time we didn’t even stay for dessert because we didn’t want to sit there for another hour.
The customer service in that resort needs a major fixing. It’s so sad because it’s a beautiful resort but needs a huge staff make over. The only two people that were nice and pleasant were the butler and the sweet lady at the ice cream stand.
We won’t be back.

We paid for upgraded \"privilege\" status which advertised an expedited check in process and personal concierge service. The check in process was a dismal failure of over 45 minutes - with no line. It would have been comedic had we not traveled for over 12 hours and were absolutely starving. The concierge service was also worthless. You are much better off making your own reservations to the restaurants and amenities.

In short, the basic services you would expect from a resort were disappointing.

The privilege status also advertised top-shelf alcohol. They are heavy on Scotch and light on bourbon. They have plenty of good rum available at the regular status. If you are a scotch drinker- the upgrade would be good for you. If you are not the regular status would be just fine.

Now the good part- the service staff were all amazing. The bar tenders, restaurant workers, shuttle drivers, housekeeping... all wonderful.

The food and beverages were of good quality, and the restaurants offered a change from the buffet.

My closing would be- I am not sure if the increased cost of the upgraded status was actually worth it. I would caution anyone considering it against it.

We had a great stay at Ocean Blue and Sand! Our room was spacious and clean. Housekeeping did an amazing job on a daily basis, leaving the room clean with plenty of towels. The different figures made out of towels and flowers was a nice touch. Food was amazing! We tried all of the restaurants and they were all great. Mike’s coffee was fabulous,
offering a huge selection of coffee and tea
beverages, along with cakes, pastries and
cheesecakes. The buffet was incredible, offering a wide range of food types and cocktails. Staff
were very friendly and hardworking. The beach was gorgeous. White sand and turquoise water. Two massive pools. Our bartender at the swim up bar was very entertaining, making great cocktails. The grounds were maintained impeccably. Workers were out early morning raking fallen palm leaves and cutting dead branches. Our Expedia rep Rona went above and beyond to help us.

My stay at Ocean Blue & Sand Beach Resort was short but overall great, and I would definitely consider visiting again. The resort itself is beautiful, very large, and well maintained. Everything felt very clean, and the atmosphere was relaxing. I only had the chance to eat at the buffet during my stay, but the food selection and quality were very good, so I didn’t get around to trying the restaurants this time. There were, however, two issues during my stay. The minor issue was with my room thermostat, which wasn’t working properly. I reported it three times, but unfortunately it never got fixed, and I ended up dealing with a room temperature of around 79°F for the remainder of my stay. It wasn’t ideal, but I managed. The more serious concern was something I may have misunderstood at first, but I felt that some staff members did not always provide the same level of service to me as they did to other guests. As a Hispanic/Latino guest, I sometimes felt I was treated differently, possibly due to an assumption that I wouldn’t tip, which is not the case since I tip generously. I want to emphasize this was not all staff, as many were friendly and professional, but it was noticeable enough to affect my experience. Despite these issues, I still enjoyed my stay overall and would like to return in the future, hopefully with these concerns improved.

I booked a King bed and we were assigned a room with two double beds. Expedia messed up I guess. Room was great! Could use some extra USB charging slots and more plugs throughout the entire space. Bathroom is massive, including a large vanity with a double sink. One plug on one side of one sink in the entire room is crazy!!

Sliding glass door does not lock at all. We were on third floor so we never really cared. Should have a swing up locking bar system to secure the door. Renovation update idea perhaps??

Maid was awesome and room service was nothing short of amazing!! Pools were spacious and always kept clean!! Carlos at Tiki bar was amazing, and Sindy at Villa Marina was amazing and always smiling and pleasant!!

Freddy at Steakhouse Restaurant and at Villa Marina was outstanding and such a pleasure to be around!!

This was our first time here and we absolutely loved it. The staff is amazing — so friendly and helpful, which really made our stay special.

One thing that would make the experience even better is a policy about reserving beach chairs at the pool. We noticed some guests would place towels on chairs early in the morning and then leave for long periods, which made it hard for others to find seating. It would feel more fair if chairs couldn’t be held when guests aren’t actually using them.

Otherwise, we had an amazing experience and will definitely return!

All the staff were super friendly, because we booked through Expedia we got VIP and got our own concierge. The food was good most the time. The drink were hit or miss depending where you went but mostly sweet. I would say the entertainment needs alot of improvement the staff were very friendly but it was boring to be honest the white party on the beach felt more like a kids beach party the fire show was the best show. Resort is nice and beach was as clean as they can get it.

This is our 7th stay here and absolutely love it! the front line staff are most courteous and never without a smile. I want to highlight the \"behind the scenes\" staff. From the folks sweeping the floor, lawn and landscape workers, dishwashers and cooks, bathroom cleaners and room staff, pool cleaners, tree trimmers, beach chair movers, laundry staff,and countless others we don't see, a BIG THANK YOU for all you do to make our stay a great experience that ensures our return, time and time again!!!!

Spacious room with good air conditioning. Hotel grounds kept immaculate and staff very smart. Bathroom room door did not shut as the door was larger than the frame - nothing major but not what you would expect from a 5* not many coat hangers - asked room service for more but all requests ignored. Restaurant staff very hit and miss re service and professionalism. Food in restaurants was adequate - not 5* and the restaurants themselves lacked ambience - very loud, bright lighting and felt more like a canteen than a restaurant. If you are hoping for any romantic or quiet meal then you will be disappointed. We only had one course in the Mexican as the noise levels made talking impossible.

The resort is beautiful. The beach and pools were very good. The food was good, a lot to choose from. Mike’s coffee shop was amazing. Our room needed to be changed upon checkin due to extreme musty smell coming from the air conditioner, and the shower leaked water onto the floor every time my husband used it. The process to change rooms took 3 nights. Once we moved, our stay became the dream vacation we had hoped for. Thank you!

Staff was very kind, however, one of us got so sick from the food we had to reschedule flights and go home early to seek medical care in the US. We did not drink any of the local water so we know it was from the food. The strain of ecoli found in lab tests indicate the resort put out contaminated fruit.

We previously stayed at Ocean Coral & Turquesa in Mexico and had a great experience, which is why we booked Ocean Blue & Sand expecting something similar. Unfortunately, the difference was night and day.

We had ongoing room issues, inconsistent housekeeping, and constant problems getting towels despite repeated requests. Instead of fixing the issue, staff would show up late at night asking if we needed towels after the problem had already been raised. Communication barriers made even simple requests frustrating.

We paid for Privilege but did not feel respected. We repeatedly asked to speak with management and were told appointments would be set up, but this never happened. We were brushed off entirely.

The most serious issue involved health and safety. My husband became very sick with a bacterial gastrointestinal infection and required hospitalization for 24 hours. I had to return to the resort alone in the early morning hours using transportation arranged by the resort, with no internet and no shared language with the driver.

Although I was told transportation would be covered, the driver demanded payment, charged me $70 USD, and pressured me to return to my room to get the money. This was the last of our cash. When I returned, the driver was asleep and had to be woken to count the money. The stress and lack of sleep from this experience later triggered epileptic symptoms for me.

The grounds are immaculate and the restaurants are fantastic. The beach could not be better. Soft sand a turquoise waters. The pools are really nice too. And the entertainment staff works all day. Our stay was okay. I booked a king bed and when we arrived we received 2 queen beds instead. When I said I booked a king bed I was told there isn’t anymore available and to come back the next day to see if there was availability which was annoying. The check in girl and the rest of the check in staff did not seem very friendly and were kind of rude. We were part of a group of 14 people and another check in staff member was rude to other people in our group. The rooms seemed dated and very tired and beaten up. The Mexican and Italian restaurants were okay. Route 66 took forever and the service was very poor. There were 6 of us at one table and 8 at another, but the 6 people all received their food way faster than the table of 8 even though we arrived and ordered at the same time. The table of 8 was at the restaurant for another 45 minutes after the table of 6 left. You have to make a reservation to go to the Japanese and steak house which is okay if you are up at 7am. The reservation system says they don’t open until 7:30am, but it is 7am. Good luck trying to get into the steakhouse if you try to reserve at 7:15am - they will already be sold out for the day. The steakhouse service was also poor and not worth the hype. There were only 6 of us that went one night and we sat at our table for 20 minutes before anyone came around to take our order. We had to ask the drink waiter to find someone to come take our order. This resort is not 4.5 stars as advertised. 3.5 at best.

Property is beautiful, staff super friendly…love the singing bartender & the great piano player in the lounge, love the big clean rooms with hot water but by far the food is amazing!!

Great location of the room close to pool and beach (building 5). Did not like the way they do restaurant reservations so we were left with the buffet only and food was limited as far as options. Staff was great - not enough lounge chairs by the beach. Needless to say the people selling merchandise on the beach takes away from relaxing.

Very clean, but the waitresses, waiters or anyone that works at the resort should be able to understand your request or questions.

I only speak one language (English) and they gave me the wrong food or drink on many occasions.

They should invest in an information booth through the resort so that anyone from a variety of countries and languages could ask a question and the information personnel could given the proper instructions.

What a great resort. This was my third trip to this resort. The workers go out of their way to make sure that you are happy. The steak house and Italian restaurants were my favorite and the food was excellent. The privilege section is so worth the xtra. All the bartenders were friendly and attentive. See you next year!

We have a group of 15 come to the resort for our annual family/friends vacation. The resort even with Privilege building has no elevator. Our group has been moved all over to different buildings. Our building 5 rooms - mostly not look like privilege room, it doesn’t have hot tub, doesn’t come with H10 toiletries bag, minibar only filled with water and couple soda. No snacks no alcohols.
The staff are very unfriendly, my nephew got kicked out from BlueMoon with Boston Birkenstock clogs ( totally covered all the toes and it’s suede leather) it’s unbelievable!! Their staff doesn’t have proper training an loves argue about everything, instead of “one second , let me ask my manager “
Afterwards we went to speak to manager, he totally agreed that my nephew shouldn’t be kicked out because he met the dress code guideline.
Later, my friends who was not staying in privilege went to lounge looked for us, but got yelled by the supervisor in the privilege lounge ( not trying to stay or eat , just looking for friends ) - very unprofessional. We were very upset by their service. I have been with H10 member for the past 7 years and I been to Cancun’s ORP many times, never had this issue. The butler there is very tentative unlike Ocean Blue sand and Beach.
15 of us left the resort today with very bad taste in our mouth. Don’t think we will ever try to come back.

Pro- weather is beautiful in Punta Cana , beach is amazing.

The staff was always courteous and resort was always clean and well maintained. The location and beach were excellent. Their food was okay for an all inclusive but not outstanding. The specialty restaurants were difficult to book and the food was underwhelming (buffet was much better). Also if you book with a travel agency you do not have access to the Privilege level amenities and are not able to opt-in. I definitely would recommend the resort for a quick stay but if you can book directly with the hotel for more amenities.

The room was amazing, the food delicious, the service impeccable and the amenties were delightful.We had a wonderful 10 day experience only to be ruined by the PUJ airport experience.
For the second time in as many years that we have vacationed in Punta Cana, airport baggage-handling staff have rifled through our checked luggage looking for valuables.
Last year all of my wife's jewellery was stolen, and upon our return to our hometown Ottawa, Canada last night, all of the contents in my both luggages were strewn about, obviously staff looking for valuables again.
This is a serious security problem that Punta Cana has to take seriously and they are not.
