First, we got an upgrade to a Junior Suite with stunning views of Positano. The suite and property as a whole were super clean! The gourmet food at their II Tridente Restaurant was mouth watering!! But their main attraction was their amazing staff! Particularly Anna at the Front Desk and Luigi and Luca at the bar. If there is a downside is that the property is showing its age. Other than that..kudos!!

We absolutely loved this hotel — it’s amazingly gorgeous, with the perfect mix of vintage charm and luxury. The views from the terrace were breathtaking, especially at sunset, and the beautiful tiled floors gave it such authentic character. Every detail felt thoughtfully designed and cared for. The staff were incredibly attentive, professional, and kind — they made us feel genuinely welcome. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Gorgeous hotel with amazing staff. Every single person working there treated us with such care. They were able to arrange a very comfortable private transfer for us to and from the airport and book us a very nice couples massage and Amalfi coast boat tour last minute. We were there for our honeymoon and the desk staff made sure it was very special and provided extra accommodations for us. Absolutely stunning views and amazing food, perfect destination for us and we will stay here every time we visit Positano.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. At check in the staff for so friendly and helpful. During the whole stay, all of the staff were so friendly and attentive. The hotel itself is a beautiful historic building with oodles of character, which works perfectly for a holiday in Positano. The breakfast each day was simple and classic, very tasty, and the service was first class. The hotel restaurant was also one of the best meals which we experienced during our week in Positano.

This hotel is one of the best places I have ever stayed. The view can not be topped and I felt like I was a guest at the home of a wealthy aristocrat. The hotel is beautifully decorated with antiques and artwork and my room was spacious and comfortable with a nice bathroom. I would absolutely stay there again when I return to Positano.

Stayed at the Poseidon hotel to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary and it certainly lived up to its expectations. This is an exceptional hotel our room overlooked the pool with the biggest balcony I’ve ever seen. We booked ahead and had our dinner on the first night in II tridente, everything from the stunning views of Positano to the service was brilliant.

Hotel Poseidon is by far one of the most beautiful and lovely hotels that I have visited. The hotel staff ( front end and bar/ restaurant servers) go out of their way to make your stay a memorable one. I can’t say enough about their service and hospitality. Breakfast served on the terrace is a wonderful start for the day. We enjoyed cocktails each evening ant the outside bar and had an amazing dinner at Il Trident restaurant our final evening. A special thank you to Hotel Poseidon for a trip of a lifetime.

The hotel was beautiful, breakfast and dinner food was delicious and atmosphere of the lounge great. The only issue the the Turkish Bath was broken and it was unknown until arrival that it's assigned to the Health Spa department who makes available for $85 only if you have a $200 per person massage. I suggested to staff that the bath be under control of the hotel, as is the pool, and allow for use as an individual option I would have loved a massage but felt they were eextremely overpriced. Other than that the hotel is definately wonderful.

Everything about our stay at Hotel Poseidon was absolutely incredible. The views of Positano from the terrace are breathtaking. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the restaurant- all were wonderful. What makes this place really special, besides the view and amenities, is the staff. The service is impeccable. Something that wasn’t really advertised well that I thought was great was the transfer to the hotel that they arranged for us. The driver picked us up at the hotel in Naples we were staying at beforehand, and we got a private transfer for a much better price than anywhere else I could find. I don’t have anything bad to say about this hotel and I already can’t wait to return!

If you’re looking for a modern luxury hotel, this is not for you but if you are seeking a luxury, authentic, excellent customer service and overall experience, Poseidon is a wonderful choice. The location of the hotel is great. It has a beautiful view of Positano. With 15 minute walk you get to the shops and restaurants. There is only one restaurant near the hotel. The room’s furniture is very old and overall didn’t worth the price and they are very strict about having a guest at the hotel which was very strange as Positano is a place to reunite with your friends. The room service menu is very limited. Housekeeping team was fantastic. They work so hard for guests to enjoy their stay.

Wonderful views from our room which gave a surreal feeling whenever we went on the balcony! Hotel was very clean and all staff were friendly. Restaurant/bar gave good vibes especially during the night, and their food was delicious! Only reason why I didn’t give 5/5 stars is because they charged for tea bags and coffee packets when we ran out of it in our room! Surely a lavish and expensive hotel such as this can provide basic tea and coffee for free. I’m assuming housekeeping would’ve replenished them if I didn’t put up the “do not disturb” sign, which begs the question why I was charged for it then? Apart from that, I highly recommend Hotel Poseidon!

Older Hotel with Great Restaurant and Views
The hotel restaurant and lounge area are great--spectacular views and good food! The hotel itself is clearly one of the older in Positano. It was repeatedly mentioned that despite its appearance the elevator was safe. Our bathroom was cramped with a very small shower--not what I would have expected for a room at this price point. Plugging in a hair dryer blew out a fuse on our first day so had to be careful about what we had plugged in. There was a storm one night and the wind caused a shutter outside to bang for a couple of hours which made it hard to sleep. Staff very helpful in setting up transportation.

Was very happy with our stay and accommodations! The hotel feels like you are a guest in an Italian Villa. The staff are attentive, but not overly and not in your face. The rooms and accommodations are classic Italian decor, but updated and clean. The amenities are thought through - complimentary beach bag and towels when needed, flip-flops, quality robes, towels, toiletries. The bar staff is friendly and the food and drinks excellent. The location can't be beat - the pool deck and views! proximity to the touristy shops and beach, but far enough up that you can avoid it all and instead visit the higher quality, excellent restaurants and shops going up the hill from the hotel. It has a direct stair access (long and steep) to the harbor to bypass the crowds. I was very happy with our stay and would love to return again.

The location is wonderful, which is very important in Positano, as they are close enough to walk to the beaches and restaurants easily. The staff is superb and are very knowledgeable about Positano and the Amalfi coast, and they are well-connected to other businesses in the area, which was so helpful during our stay in terms of booking excursions and reservations (especially during busy season!!). I could not recommend Hotel Poseidon enough!! Make sure you say hi to Tony by the pool, he is fantastic ! And be sure to try their restaurant, which is considered very authentic and delicious, even by local standards.

We had dinner at the hotel restaurant, Il Tridente, one night and the food and service were excellent. We enjoyed ending each night on the terrace cocktail bar with a fancy drink while admiring the spectacular views.
The location is as convenient as can be in Positano, close to many shops and restaurants. The beach was a short walk away via the steps. We enjoyed the pool so much that we only went to the beach for sightseeing.
Quite simply this was the best hotel we have ever stayed at, and it was very hard to leave. We highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit Positano and we look forward to returning again in the future!
