My wife and I enjoyed ourselves very much at Sunset Shores. We actually had the opportunity to meet one of the owners and learn about the deep history of the hotel. The staff was VERY accommodating and really made our stay worth while. We’ll very likely visit again. Special Thank you to Margarita and Hudson for their excellent hospitality and service.

The resort was older but well kept generally. My room was very clean. For some reason I was missing vanity door knobs and drawers. Bathroom very small, but rest of room was fine with 2 beds, table, bureau, tv, etc.
Pool area spacious with lots of chairs, loungers, and 2 bars.
Only negative was restaurant had mediocre food and lousy wait service.

The staff at this hotel gets high ratings for their courtesy and attentiveness. The room was comfortable. The hotel and grounds although a bit older, was quite clean and well maintained.
My only complaint is the breakfast. Just didn’t work for us. We didn’t stick around for lunch or dinner (nor breakfast again) after our first morning. In spite of it all, I could stay there again if only to give it another chance.

This is an older hotel that has been operating for more than 50 years, and that shows in some areas. The rooms feel somewhat dated. The food was not very good, and the menu options were limited. On the positive side, the staff was helpful, the beds were comfortable and clean, and the rooms were cleaned daily.

The location is convenient, with easy walking access to other restaurants and bars along the boardwalk. Those restaurants are not that great either, but they are better than the hotel. The beach water is clear, although beach chairs and umbrellas must be rented from locals. Public transportation is readily available, with vans stopping right outside the hotel that can take you to Kingstown or in the opposite direction for $2.50 EC. This made it easy to reach supermarkets in either direction to buy water, snacks, or other essentials.

We stayed in two rooms. It took four days to receive a safe in one of them, so we had to share the available safe during that time. There was also a ceiling leak in room 14, and the water pressure in room 16 was very low.

Do not stay here unless you have no other option. Even then, there are better hotels nearby, Mariners Hotel is far better.

We booked a 10 night stay at Sunset Shores Beach Hotel. Less than 24 hours before our flight, they told us they were overbooked and moved us to Paradise Beach Hotel for the first two nights. They would not respond to questions about the change. The room was a downgrade, smelled moldy, had visible mold in the AC, no hot water, and constant smoke from neighboring rooms.

After two nights, we were forced to check out at noon but could not check into Sunset Shores until 3 pm, despite this being their mistake. They offered a so called “complimentary” dinner, which later came with undisclosed restrictions limited to the cheapest menu items.

When we finally checked in, the AC did not work. We were moved again to their “best room,” which still had mold, broken fixtures, poor construction, and another moldy AC unit. At that point we canceled our stay.

Management was never available despite repeated requests. Service was slow, unfriendly, and indifferent. Based on our experience and other reviews, this appears to be a pattern. The operation felt disorganized, dishonest, and unconcerned with guest satisfaction. I strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

GREAT VIEW of the ocean and sunset! Simple beachfront, decent food, rooms were pretty good. Overall, a fine place to stay for a reasonable price, with other restaurants a short walk away.

HOWEVER: Be warned. The management doesn't seem to have a high regard for the rights of paying guests. 2 major complaints: (1) We paid a premium price a long time in advance for a good room facing the sea. We arrived and found they had given our room for the first night to another guest! And no compensation was offered. An unethical ripoff! (2) They hosted a wedding all day Saturday. So we could not access the restaurant, and had deafening music (actually shook our windows!) all day and evening until 10pm. Obviously the extra money they made was more important than the rights of paying guests to peace and use of facilities.

Other issues: Our door would not lock! Sometimes the food took awfully long to bring out (especially fish kebab - took an hour!)

Too bad. Except for the above, we really enjoyed our stay here, and would want to recommend it - but you should be aware of the risks.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Sunset Shores Hotel due to the gracious staff and the accommodating stay. Our room was very clean and was cleaned every single day of our stay. The staff were very friendly and the vibes at the hotel were peaceful every day. The hotel also had direct access to the beach which we enjoyed due to the beautiful views. I would stay here again! I think just the food options I'd note would appreciate more local food options for guests!

This hotel was clean and very quiet. I noticed this hotel is for old people or people who are on a business/working trip. There are no activities at the hotel. The ocean is very close to the property to the point there are barely any sitting space has the water comes pretty close to the property. The hotel does not provide beach chairs or umbrellas even though their property is on the beach. The food was decent but quite pricey for the Caribbean. The staff was very nice, respectful and helpful. We met the owner who was very polite and nice. However, this hotel is not for us as it is not geared for young people.

But after several disappointing meals, I ate at other locations along the beach. Some lights along the beach would help for all of the locations off the boardwalk.

Upon arriving the room was not ready, fortunately they comped dinner. I ordered breakfast the next day and the food was horrible. It was not freshly cooked but frozen and reheated. The staff was awesome, unfortunately, the girl who generally took care of us was off and her replacement paid no attention to the room. The internet service was extremely weak to non existent. Other Than that the room was clean but dated. The grounds were immaculate. The scenery was amazing. Pool was cleaned and chlorinated daily. The staff was extremely accommodating except for one the replacement attendant. The front desk manager was overwhelmed. Other than that it was decent. Again the restaurant food was horrible. The hotel was a two star experience, a budget rental.

The staff are lovely. The guy on reception, (?Sewande?) was brilliant working his tail off with too many rooms not available for check-in because of late checkouts, which was not his fault but frustrating for us arriving to have to wait. Our room, the open areas are spotless. The property however is dated and shows the wear and tear of a number of years. The staff are brilliant. Breakfast was included and good, but was just one plate of cooked food included, but no fruit or pastries etc. Service took a little while.
The location of the hotel is fantastic, being directly onto the beach where we could swim late in the evening and early in the morning. This was lovely.

I typically do not write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my recent experience. While the bedroom area and linens were clean, several issues made my stay less than satisfactory.

The bedroom had a sliding door that did not have enough panels to cover the entire opening, which allowed light to enter and left noticeable gaps. Since I was on the ground floor in front of the pool I had to maneuver the curtain panels so that I wasn't seen from the outside but that left about a gap in the corner that was not covered. I also discovered that the screen door had been left open after housekeeping, and I unknowingly slept with it open on my last night.

The main door to the room was ill-fitted, allowing light to come in and I could see outside through the gaps. There was a chain, but no bolt to attach it to, no dead bolt, just a standard bedroom door lock. In the bathroom, there was a hole under the sink that also let in light from outside, and the grip treads in the bathtub were dirty.

After my first shower, I was unable to turn off the water. The only way to shut it off was to use a towel for grip and brace my foot against the wall. I requested a new room but was told that was not possible. When I asked to check out a night early, I was informed I would still be charged for the additional night due to their cancellation policy.

The food was not good, though the staff was polite and tried to help where they could.

My stay at this hotel was very nice. Overall, it’s in a great location to nice views and restaurants on the boardwalk. The pool is large.

My only complaint would be the fact that they have three bars, only one is use at all times, in the same place and only one bartender at a time.

I love this hotel. The rooms are nice although they are currently renovating some, the food is good and grounds are beautiful filled with fruiting trees, unlike the US. Any challenges you might encounter will be addressed as swiftly as possible. I've already booked for my vakay next year.

My room water pressure was trash but the no sense of urgency in tone was astonishing. They did send several people to look at it and somewhat resolved it but due to that and it seems there’s no overnight staff I would most likely not stay here as a single visitor especially with the extremely low water pressure like lowwwwwwwee!
