The place is nice, however, staff loudly making comments regarding a convicted..... I don't want to use the word here.....lets just say a \"disgraced Financier\" as the media would say. Laughing and using positive language like \"celebrity p********e\"..... I found it extremely disgusting. On challenging use of the language in earshot of guests the response was equally as outrageous. One staff member freely excused it, for a reason I do not want to mention on public review as it is not my place to share the reasoning they gave. The fact they thought any reason justified talking like this within earshot of guests is absolutely astounding.

On reporting to proprietor I was met with a response of \"OK so are you leaving then?\" I then asked what his thoughts were on disgusting comments like this he said he will have to ask the staff if they actually said it. I respect the fact your first reaction is to protect staff, however, training on professionalism and standards is lacking. If you want to support staff support the correctly by providing correct training.

The staff is kind, considerate and caring. We felt like we were staying with friends that were sharing their home with us. A beautiful location with a nice view over the water into the town. The food was also well prepared, tasty, generous and authentic. We had to leave early and on our way out at 6:00 a.m. they had prepared a very nice bag of goodies to take with us, so thoughtful and very much appreciated. Jeff & Janet

Beautiful old house with an interesting history. Fully renovated bathroom was a complete surprise. Owner even gave us a lift to the golf course as he was worried that a taxi would be pricey. Lovely town as well.

Just beautiful

Stay was really lovely and relaxing. Beautiful building, was used as maturity hospital and Roger, the owner told us lots about the history of the building. The room Nbr 4 was just amazing, huge bed, beautiful view, very spacious. I could have spend days in the bathtub. All was very clean, beautifully restored, great breakfast included. Great location, 10 min walk to the town Center, jubilee coastal walk nearby. Absolutely loved it. Thank you Lori and Roger and all the staff!

Old Mansion Feel

Very nice, located a bit out of town but great views across the water. Like staying in a large, older mansion, not a hotel. Booked one room, but had no idea it featured three beds separated by (doorless) rooms, so it would be good for a larger party. Breakfast provided was a nice bonus as well, especially after a somewhat pricey dinner the evening before.

We had a 2 night stsy at Craigard house. It is in a lovely position overlooking the sea with
the hills behind. Our room was on the side and had a partial sea view. The lady that checked us in was friendly but wasn't really forthcoming with info and we had to ask her questions about where to go for breakfast and about the front door etc. Our room was a good size and clean and the bed was comfy. The bathroom appeared to be recently updated and was lovely. The water pressure was low in the shower. The general areas around the hotel were a little dated and some areas were a quite dark. Good breakfast options and although they did get my order wrong on both dsys, it still tasted good.

Small town Scottish charm

traveled to Campbeltown from Glasgow. Nice B&B; offers a really nice breakfast, comfortable bed, pretty grounds, and fantastic staff. We stayed in the Jura room and have some minor feedback: the room could use a fan to circulate air because it had a stale smell and you must lock yourself into the room as well as lock when you leave. This feels like a safety flaw.

They clearly invested quite a bit in a bathroom remodel that includes a VERY large soaking tub which my husband loved. The shower is also new and has a premium three-point rain shower head. However, the shower door does not close properly and we ended up with a very wet floor resulting in laying down an extra towel for traction and using more towels than we intended.

The breakfast and people are lovely. This is a very nice spot just outside of town. It would be a long walk into town, but it’s a quick drive.

amazing stay, amazing property and amazing breakfast. Did feel a little sad about the night manager whom, when we asked whether the bar was open at 10:15pm after we’d got in after dinner, told us she was serving till 10:30. We said we’d only want one as we’d had a few with dinner and we’re met with the reply of: if you’ve already had a couple then you’ve probably had enough. Other than that everything was excellent and exceeded expectations.

When we were ordering the room for the 28th we were sure it was the top of the line room. We are senior citizens. We were given a room with three beds off to the side. The TV and remote were worthless. The lamps in the room did not work, and the staff could not tell us how to get them to work. The next morning we noticed the room next to ours was the top of the line room we requested from Expedia. For an extra fee They were able to give it to us for another night, which was the excellent Expedia charged us for room.

Won’t stay again.

Arrived quite late, carpark is really dark & not well signposted. Bed sheets were stained. Room was infested with big black flies (not midge) managed to kill 10 before deciding to sleep in my van in the carpark as no one in reception to complain to.
Went to have a shower in the morning & the shower pump just squirted water on & off.
Wasn’t happy!
Can’t comment on breakfast as didn’t chance it seeing the state of the room.
First time staying in Campbell town & think it will be my last.

It is Kintyre after all.

We stayed here while visiting relatives in the area. The hotel was listed for sale the same week and this may have had an effect on owners.
However, arrived and was asked our name and given a room key by male owner(?) . No effort to welcome us or ask how our (long) journey had been.
Upon return from town later, high wind blew open storm door and female owner (?) shouted for door to be shut and rushed forward. Sorry but if winds blow open the door - it is Kintyre after all - , sort the door don't shout at guests!
Stayed 2 nights and internal corridors were unlit at night but stangely all lights on in morning when not needed.
Inner hall and room felt oppressively hot on arrival but able to turn down room heater and open window.
Room was comfortable with very large bathroom.
It rained at night - it is Kintyre after all - and rain gutter dripped long after rain stopped.
Breakfast was good and staff pleasant and helpful.
Overall stay was okay and certainly quieter than town centre hotels where family had warned there can be noise all night from boy racers.

Lovely old building that has been lovingly restored to a high standard with very tasteful decor throughout. Booking in was quick and easy. Unique, beautifully converted mansion. Loads of character. Setting and view are very pretty. We were there on a rainy October weekend so we couldn't enjoy the outdoor space, but the outdoor space looked really nice. The family room we stayed in was very spacious yet cozy, with three somewhat distinct sleeping areas. Very nicely appointed, exceeded expectations. Welcome treats and beverages in our room were a nice surprise. Check-in/check-out was easy, fast, old-school. Included breakfast in the morning was hot and made to order, which was nice. The evening menu could stand to be paired down though. There are so many options it seems things must get pulled out of the freezer on demand. Everything we ordered at dinner was okay, not great. Highly recommend this place as a B&B. Would maybe get dinner elsewhere in town. Overall a fun stay, would return!

Very bad service

Very unwelcoming older lady on reception. Rude. Dinner was terrible. We complained as we didn't eat two meals and the waitress or the manager did nothing to resolve this. Avoid at all costs

Lovely setting. You get what you’d expect from an older style guest house. Floors were a bit on the creaky side but apart from that the room was pleasant and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely too!

Amazing historic house, beautiful location overlooking the water. Perfect walk to town. Excellent food at the restaurant...order the seafood pie. Our room was the king size bedroom and has the best view of all. The vibe is cozy, not stuffy or pretentious.

Absolutely stunning the hotel, the place, the people. I really enjoyed my one night stay wished it was a week or more. The food was delicious and portions was fairly generous.

The views across the Loch were fantastic. We felt that a lift or stairchair should have been fitted. On last day when I needed a shower wasn't working, sufficiently well to have one.

Great meal in restaurant.
No draft beer though. Knackered mattress. Damp issues in bathroom. Extra 20 quid for the bed and a sea view was taking the mickey.

A hotel to recommend.

One of the best hotel rooms I've been in, very comfortable, everything worked and fabulous view. Food was absolutely first class for dinner, and the eggs were perfectly poached at breakfast.
Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff.
Only two very minor hiccups - bottle of wine I ordered was wrong, and somehow it took 20 minutes for pot of tea to arrive at breakfast! Otherwise faultless.

Our hostess was enthusiastic and very helpful for our stay. The room was nice with a great view of the water. The biggest surprise was the high quality of the meals. They would rank easily with any of the restaurants in the area and you don't have to stay there to take advantage of it.

Nice hotel with lovely views, about a 20 minute walk into the town. Only disappointment was the bar facilities, it’s was just a front lounge. We also had a really nice meal at the hotel
