Great wee place, rooms are small but dead cozy with a daft wee sink but great shower. No cooked breakfast despite online photos, maybe because off season, so ask ahead. No evening meal availability again maybe due to season,lovely 20 minute walk to Glen Hotel which is open all year round. Plenty off books,DVD'S and board games for staying inside in the bad weather. Staff are brilliant especially Lizzie and Skipper. Great location for harbour and forest walks. Had a great stay,would definitely go again.

We had such a brilliant stay here. A lovely family run place. Wonderful breakfast, access to bar where locals are regulars too so had a good night and got some tips for our trip. Lovely spot on the Kintyre peninsula. Would love to go back.

Delightful Stay!

The hotel owners/hosts, Sharon and John were very welcoming and friendly including Sharon offering to drive me to a local restaurant and later coming back to collect me. The Continental breakfast was generous, varied and more than enough to satisfy and set you up for the day!
When I am next in that area, I’ll certainly book to stay at the Ashbank and shall make the recommendation for others to do so too!

Arrived at hotel after days walking. Warm welcome by staff. Great wee room. Brilliant shower. Although hotel didnt serve food staff were very helpful with info were to go locally to eat. Brilliant selection of local ales and great outdoor seating areas. Carradale is in a beautiful part of the country. Very comfortable bed gave me a great nights sleep. Excellent breakfast next morning. Staff were brilliant throughout stay. Would thoroughly recommend. 10/10

We had a long drive and arrived quite late, John the owner welcomed us in and made us feel at home, we had a lovely night in the bar and THE BEST breakfast on our 11 day tour of Scotland made and served by the proprietor himself, rooms were good, clean and comfortable with a great view, we will return soon, highly recommended *****

We really enjoyed our one night stay before heading to the boat for Islay. We were blown away with how nice this hotel was, the staff were lovely, the room was very clean and it had everything we needed! The tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolates on the bed were a lovely touch. There was a huge selection of dvds and books which you could also borrow. We enjoyed a couple of drinks in the hotel bar on the evening, there was a good stock of local gins, beers and whisky. I must mention how welcoming everyone was including the little dog Bella, I could of taken her home! We also couldn’t fault the breakfast, there was a huge selection to choose from and everything was fresh and very tasty. Although out of the way this hotel is well worth a visit and we are planning to come back the next time we head over to Islay. Thank you! :)

Lovely one night stay

Small hotel based in Carradale.

Welcoming and friendly on arrival. Nice room with king size bed, en-suite (shower); room overlooked the golf course and Isle of Arran. Usual facilities.

Spent a nice evening with a couple of the locals in the bar.

Breakfast was very good, with large choice.

Overall nice stay and would recommend.

We had a wonderful stay although it was quite short. We arrived near midnight and left the next morning at 8:30. They made everything easy. Check in was a breeze and they even had little chocolates on our bed for us to eat. Breakfast in the morning was exceptional

Boutique Excellence in Carradale

Ashbank Hotel was outstanding in terms of friendliness, welcome, comfort and, most importantly, cleanliness. Uncluttered room with pristine white laundered sheets and super comfy bath. No one came near us, trays were left on small tables outside room. Anxiety over an unavoidable journey, was greatly reduced at this time, by intelligent, thoughtful behaviour of the owners. Highly recommended.

Lovely small hotel

Ashbank is a lovely small hotel. Owners are very helpful. Food is great. Lots of choice for breakfast. I also enjoyed the Kintyre Platter for dinner which was full of locally sourced ingredientd. Currently dealing very well with Covid restrictions. There is an option to have your meal in your room at the moment if you prefer. I chose that option as my room had wonderful views over the golf course, the sea in the distance and Arran beyond. Very enjoyable stay and I will definitely return.

Best place to stay in Carradale.

Sharon and John were very friendly, accommodating and helpful! Our room was fine, the bed was cozy and comfortable. Breakfast? Wow, Sharon fed us like we were Kings, everything was great. They have a small bar in the dining area where we had a few drinks with them and a few locals before retiring, good conversations. We would definitely recommend staying at the Ashbank.

The area is very quaint. Unfortunately we caught the Owner’s just as they returned from a trip of their own so we’re just getting back into service. The shower is very small so difficult to operate.

Sharon and her family offer comfortable and extremely friendly accommodation in this small, out of the way village. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and although the property is not large the cheerful, attentive service exceeded expectations.

Great stay. We had the DBB option and my chef brother said the macaroni cheese was the best he’d ever had. Breakfast was also excellent. Rooms were very clean and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Great part of Kintyre, short walk to the beach.

Hidden gem, perfect base for exploring the area

I had been looking for an affordable mainland alternative to expensive accommodation on Islay, near the ferry so I could do a day trip. I found it! But it was way better than I was expecting. The couple who run it are absolutely delightful - they even made me a to-go breakfast when I had to leave crazy early to catch the ferry. The room was adorable with an exceptionally comfortable bed. Hidden gem! One thing you need to know, the 20 mile road leading to Carradale is not for the faint of heart - a one-lane, two-way road. I didn't know that ahead of time and I was a bit apprehensive that I'd end up in a swamp, but it was absolutely fine. Very glad I booked this.
