Staff was extremely friendly. The dining staff was very helpful, always smiling and attentive. The food was excellent with a wonderful lavish spread for breakfast. The front desk equipped my Mom with a wheelchair and were always available to help her with in and out of the taxi. All in all, an excellent experience!

If I could give less than one star I would.

First room - mildew, 2nd room - roacheS. They offered a 3rd room. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. We declined their offer of that 3rd room and saved our vacation. We left for a much better hotel nearby with a comparable price.

For our discomfort, they “offered” to not charge us for the final days of our reservation.

Please, if you’re looking for a place to stay, do yourself a favor & look elsewhere.

Of note, the front desk staff, porters and doormen are extremely courteous, professional & understanding. Management & supervision seems lacking.

2 star with very poor service. Don't waste your $

Not enough staff at the check in station. At 4:30pm, staff at front desk says \"Let's hope your room is ready\" booked for 3 people, room only had been set up for 2 people. After nearly 4hrs and 2 face to face encounters at the front desk to get a rollaway bed in the room, I had to wait at the front desk so this action could take place. Iron that was provided stuck to clothing. Balcony door wouldn't lock or close, so whenever anyone open the room door the balcony door would open by itself. The technician did say he would bring a key and it didn't happen. No hand towels provided in bathroom. Tv reception quite poor quality. Room door was very loud to close and lock.

While the property itself is lovely, with lush gardens and a great restaurant onsite, be forewarned that the top floor of this hotels turns into a club most evenings. I wouldn't have minded if it was properly soundproofed and didn't disturb hotel guests, but that certainly wasn't the case. It's quite loud and even from 5 floors away, the music was very noticeable. Moreover, after 8/9pm, the lobby and surrounding areas are packed with club-goers lining up to get in. Ultimately, not a very relaxing stay at all...

Old building and everything inside the room falling apart. Bathrooms are 1 star — not clean, mold everywhere and water clogged. BTW I had booked a Premium Room with Pool View, but pool was not visible from the room!!

The property is a nice one. However, check in was a mess. It took 40 mins to give a room despite calling them ahead and checking in at 5 pm instead of 12 noon.
The restaurant could not give us any of the drinks we ordered. The staff were most unhelpful. Attitude was one of don't care.

Don’t even think of booking this property
I tried reaching Expedia and couldn’t get resolution
Property is in centre of city and costs less
Costs less because of quality of service and amenities. Room is old and shower area is very small
Breakfast is pathetic and dinner is also average
Had issues with noise as they let out open area for parties and have a Disco you will hear loud music till .12,
If you want quiet atmosphere please avoid this place
Very disappointed with FrontDesk had faced issues very minimal courtesy of being host and treating guests

Poor Service For A Heritage Hotel in BLR

The service at the hotel was very poor. We had to call the service atleast 3-4 times for anything. The food is overpriced and not upto the mark. Didn't seem like a 5 star property. There was a wedding taking place due to which many areas of the hotel were blocked for other hotel guests which is not fair.

This hotel needs to upgrade its facilities and infrastructure. There were many things that needs to be upgraded. The shower area leaks water and wets the floor. The room I was given was not carpeted which is unusual for a hotel of this claimed standard.

The most disappointing thing for me was that I was given a 5th floor room. On my 2nd night there was loud thumping music coming from a party on the 6th floor roof top well past midnight. The front office could do nothing about it when I complained. In short, I was told that I had to put up with it till about 1 am because the party people have a licence to make noise till then. This is not what I expect from a 5 star hotel.

I am not sure why this Hotel is so overpriced and hyped. First of all you can get any good hotel in city much cheaper than this hotel.

-- Rooms are pretty old style, not like how modern hotels have.

-- Washrooms are so small and older, like vintage. It doesnt even have Jetspray.. ;) Indians will find it very difficult as they are not used to tissue papers. They said they are renovating the rooms.

- If you call hotel staff, they dont act on your concerns at first or second time, what we experinced.
- You have to work hard to find the phone numbers to call reception or room service as it was not written anywhere in room.
-- You need to call them for small small things like slippers in the room. LOL

So why its The Lalit? What so overpriced? I am surprised.
Overall my experience was bad and I dont recommend anyone to book this hotel as its too pricy, and not value for money.

Only good thing about hotel was the breakfast and the view from rooms, thats it.

Dilapidated condition for a 5 star facility

Once the star of the city of Bengaluru now its condition is like the city it is in. It is creaky with the drapes torn and rooms are very dated and small. The staff want to be helpful but are not very competent. The dining options are limited for a five star hotel. I would not recommend it to anyone if they are looking for a 5 star hotel. A Lalit facility needs to be better.

More like a 4 star hotel. Rooms are rather old. Swimming pool area could use some sunshade else you can't be there. Bar at the 6th floor is open and very loud till1:00am so if you wanna go to bed earlier you'll have to fall asleep to sounds of boom chakalaka etc...

First, the hotel is very well located - a short cab ride to the heart of the city and elsewhere (places that matter) in BLR. Breakfast is fab and done well. There are a couple of other restaurants on the premises that I did not try.

Overall, a great experience and would stay here again.

I was happy with my experience overall but defect I noticed where the hotel is quite old and Facilities and electrical outlets and shower doors Etc are very old and sometimes not working. excellent . atmosphere, landscaping, interiors, sanitation v good. electrical outlets/soclets works good for european gadgets but not for indian gadgets. although we had opted for pool view, this was hardly visible, the balcony door couldn't be opened?!! the main door didn't get close on its own (a security problem)

Old room with loud night club till 1 AM

In general average stay andnot a 5-star. 1 hour wifi makes them look cheap. Overcharging everything beyond logic. Staff english poor. Make mistakes. Room too old and Saturday night club noise from 9 PM to 1 AM unacceptable. Could not sleep. No outside food? Never seen this ban in any other hotel. Again, makes them look cheap.
