Great stay; New England Charm

A lovely inn. Very welcoming upon checkin and departure. We were greeted with local cheese and crackers in the room. The four poster bed was comfy and the bathroom had good water pressure soft towels and nice toiletries. We ate at the tavern for dinner which was surprisingly good. And the included, made to order breakfast had ample choices and was very good. I would stay here again if my travels brought me to Grafton.

The Grafton Inn was everything you would want in a country inn.
The location is in a small picturesque village within easy access to hiking, skiing, and shopping.
The rooms are very clean, comfortable and well appointed. Our king bedroom did not have a TV, which actually suited our getaway trip.
The included breakfast was fresh and delicious and complete with juice and fruit cup.
The meals at the onsite restaurant were very good and, actually, too large for our appetites.
Above all was the friendliness of the entire staff. They couldn’t have been more naturally helpful and accommodating to our needs.
The Grafton Inn has become our accommodation of choice when visiting Vermont.

From the minute we walked in until our departure the next day, we experienced true welcoming hospitality that was pleasant, helpful and considerate. Staff are truly professional. Our dining experiences were excellent both st dinner and breakfast. Rooms are generous, beautifully decorated and have modern baths that still retain authentic character. There is history in the inn itself and in the historic and unspoiled town (the hotel provided walking map is helpful).

Perfection!

Across the board this Inn and it's employees were wonderful, friendly and helpful!
Not only was the Inn beautiful and friendly the entire village of Grafton was as well!
Could not have been a nicer visit.

This Inn and the village certainly have raised the bar!

Charming, quaint yet modern, clean & accommodating

The management was very accommodating relative to a last minute change to our reservation and very helpful and cheerful throughout our stay. Despite being over 200 years old, the property was very clean, comfortable, and in great condition. It had modern conveniences without any compromise on the Inn's historical charm. The restaurant was very good and convenient.

Grafton is a very small, charming New England town. But there is little to do in the evening (which was fine by us -- on one of our many walks, we were greeted by a local resident from her front porch). There are many hiking/skiing trails nearby, so this property would be ideal year-round.

Lovely Grafton Inn

We had a lovely experience at the Grafton Inn. The check in process was easy, parking was easy (and they even had chargers for electric vehicles). They directed us to an outdoor center for hiking and other fun outdoor activities. Breakfast was included and it was an ok breakfast but it was served in a lovely outdoor garden setting. The Inn is a quaint older inn with very comfortable rooms. The bed was a little old and a bit too bouncy but that was my only complaint. I would definitely stay there again.

Very disappointed with management.

Wanted lunch on Saturday but restaurant was closed Manager seemed very stressed. The waitstaff at dinner and breakfast was very pleasant but understaffed ,not a relaxed atmosphere and will not return. Very disappointed not at all like we remember from previous visits

Very quaint inn - room had a very slight musty smell but considering the age of the building it's to be expected. No tv in our room (odd these days). Dinner was excellent - dined in the \"barn\" upstairs. Cheese shop right across from the inn had a nice selection of wines as well. Neighborhood is extremely quiet and small. The rocking chairs on the front porch were a nice touch. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience.

A great winter getaway

The Grafton Inn is a beautiful old building that has been maintained and restored to allow a warm and comfortable stay. Large rooms where you could relax in privacy or common areas in front of fires to experience the hotel buzz. The dining options were perfect (Phelps Barn and formal dining) - why would you need to go anywhere else! Breakfast was hearty and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and welcomed us like a guest in their own home. It was the perfect location and environment for a winter getaway. Highly recommended and we will be back!

Inn with character, comfort, and delicious food

We stayed here overnight during our way home to NYC. Such a picturesque Inn with the snow creating the perfect wintry background. We had dinner in Phelps barn and enjoyed the burger & brew deal. Susan, our waitress, was friendly & we received great service from the rest of the waitstaff as well. We finished dinner with a delicious S'mores dessert by the fireplace. Our bed was very comfortable and had such a good nights rest. Woke up refreshed then headed to breakfast which was the best I've ever had coming from an Inn. We really enjoyed our experience here even though it was a short but sweet stay.

I stay at the Grafton Inn quite often for business, and the rooms and service are exceptional. I've stayed both in the main building and the house across the street. At both sites the rooms are beautifully decorated with exquisite down bedding. Even though I am staying for business it always feels like a vacation.

Nice historic property with limited dining Mon&Tue

Coming from Route 100, and a gravel road, the town is old but WELL maintained. My wife thought the town was a little spooky, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Our room (33), was very nice with luxurious bedding, updated bathroom, and old fashioned picturesque common areas. It is in the house across the street from the main building and was built in 1816!

We stayed on a Monday night and were a little put-off with the pricey food offerings at the only open restaurant in town. (We had arrived later). Although the website briefly mentioned Phelps Barn would be closed Mondays and Tuesdays, we hoped they would have offered some of Phelps menu items in the main dining area.

The complimentary breakfast was fantastic, service very good. Met the manager. Very friendly and attentive fellow. We didn't have the heart to mention our dissatisfaction with the dining limitations and didn't want to draw public attention to the matter better handled privately.

The community seems very proper and tends to cater to an affluent customer. Although we are not, we still enjoyed the property and old aura it gave off.

Fantastic breakfast in the morning

This inn really should consider itself a b&b. After a sound sleep in a blissful bed in our oversized room, we headed downstairs for the included breakfast. We were seated with menus and warm, buttery raspberry muffins arrived at our table with coffee. I would have been satisfied alone with the muffins but no, we had our choice of anything from the menu too! We shared the eggs florentine with vermont cheddar sauce (devine) and the blueberry buttermilk pancakes (absolute heaven). This inn is situated in the charming and quaint town of Grafton which has many historic attractions. I would highly recommend this inn to anyone looking for a restful night and an amazing start to another day! Bravo!

Charming Hotel

Everyone from the staff that we encountered were outgoing and friendly. The Phelps Bar, their pub, had an excellent selection including 8 beers on tap, 7 of which were Vermont craft beers. In the pub there are two fire places, both were lit. Breakfast was included with the room. It was sit down waited on and the food was excellent. We did not have dinner, but there is a formal restaurant and the pub serves food too. We will be back.

Great place!

I was upgraded to a lovely suite because it is low season. It was wonderful! King four post bed with down quilt and pillows! Dinner and breakfast were out of this world. The wine selection is great too. This is a wonderful place to relax. Grafton is a beautiful little town and within easy driving distance to multiple ski hills and other attractions.

The best value in New England

The Grafton Inn is a wonderful gem. It is in the middle no where so don't go if you want a \"cutesy\" Vermont shopping and dining getaway. But if you want quiet relaxation, friendly service and great food at an unbeatable price, make your reservations now. I've been here twice in the last few months and each time I'm amazed at how good it is. I will be back

The bed was very comfortable! There was no tv in our room so if that bothers you just an FYI if anyone's travelling with kids. Not much to do in town very very small but the pond and snow activities were great. If you are looking for a quiet place to get away this is it! Breakfast and staff were great - breakfast is included with your stay.

The Grafton Inn really is a place to get away from the fast pace of society for a while. The whole staff deserves a 10 because they cater to all your needs and are some of the friendliest staff I have ever met. The Inn Keeper even introduced himself and ask how my stay was. Forward to going there again in the near future.

Picture perfect location.

Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Love the location for a sleigh ride or outdoor winter activities. Such a beautiful quaint town. We had a flat tire and the garage was in walking distance and the tire was repaired right away by such a friendly mechanic. Gorgeous country drive to surrounding towns. We will return soon. Must be beautiful in the fall!

Amazing! Over 200 years old, Its a great old Inn. Tricky in a couple of parts. Stairs were build for people 5 foot 5. And the floors on the 3rd floor aren't quite level becaujse of the lack of building codes in the 1800s. The employees are very friendly. We didn't eat in the \"Nice\" restaurant, but it looked nice. We ate in the \"Barn\" which was at one time the carriage house for the Inn. Great food there....All I can say is \"Sweet Potato Fries\" basiclly 5 or 6 full potato cut in quarters, not those skinny cut, non-potato fried things. Breakfast (Included) was quiet, elegant and tastey. The town is fun and quiet. The Grafton Cheese factory is next door....great cheese. All in All a nice place to visit..

Our one night stay was very comfortable and the staff, particularly the Innkeeper Don were most helpful and friendly.
Only criticism was no tv in room, everything else was fine.
We had dinner in the restaurant and the both food and service were excellent.
