Did not receive complimentary breakfast despite booking with Expedia (a waiter mentioned this to us on our last day of our second stay (had to switch hotels for one night due to lack of space). Limited and struck pool hours (kicked a 18 month old out of the pool at exactly 6pm- she was quietly swimming with her mommy and they were not given a heads up that they strictly enforce the pool hours (pool closes at 6). Even an extra 10-15 minutes would have been nice as my granddaughter had heatstroke and would have benefitted by even an extra 15 minutes of cooling down.

Rooms outdated.The maids did a great job tidying the room and the beds were immaculate every day however the following are the main reasons I’m giving it 3 stars - we were told on our last day post check out (from Kevin) that because we booked with Expedia we were supposed to get breakfast daily- at no point during our stay were we told that by the front desk staff. (Not a cheap expenditure). When staying here request a room away from the main staircase (overlooking the dining area) as well as away from the road- both areas are Very noisy despite having a white noise machine provided in each room ( a saving grace)
Pool hours should be longer than a strict 6 pm especially after long days exploring in the heat. My 18 month old granddaughter was not allowed to have a daily dip past 6 ( we were only at the hotel prior to 6 one day and on that day at Exactly 6pm (they got into the pool at 5:45) my daughter in law and granddaughter where told to get out of the pool! They were not even given an extra 15 min of splash time.

Rooms were in very run down conditions. Had to get lysol from relatives the first day of stay, to spray bathroom/toilet bowls to get rid of smell. Mosquitoes were in bathroom sink. Overall room condition were poor. Very surprised.

I booked and paid for a room with a balcony. After checked in and entered the room I realized the balcony was inside the building overlooking the restaurant! And I could hear all the chatter downstairs in the restaurant and the music inside my room.
I left the freezing Toronto and wanted to enjoy the heat and not be locked up in a room for 3 days.
I immediately went down and demanded a refund and was told there is nothing they could do!!

Room was very good...the location was a bit noisy at night due to some loud music from a few cars driving on the main road. Ill bring.earplugs next time. Staff was great...Mention to Sandy in the restaurant and Romel the driver who was chatty and very friendly when he gave us a ride from the hotel to Palm Court. The guy who worked.behind the outside bar...sorry..forgot his name..he was excellent too..Ill remember him when we come again to visit Guyana.

Clean room..a bit noisy sometimes from busy traffic playing loud music..not the hotel's fault. The employees are great! The room was clean and had all the needed amenities. There was a minor problem with the toilet but they attended to it less than 5 minutes after I reported it. This place was rich with an ambience of warmth and cordiality. And the food was tongue-tantalizing good. I recommend it like a reflex action.

Grand Coastal Hotel offers very nice rooms and friendly but very slow service. The big disadvantage is that it is incredibly noisy, mainly from the highway on which it is situated, but also from music from the bar.

The property was just ok. Very Noisy though due to close proximity of highway. Perhaps some double glazed glass would have kept noise out.

Do have dinner there! Food is good.

Staff are pleasant not friendly.

Ammenities need to be upgraded. Ac broke down during the night. We cooked all night.But they were attentive to it in the morning.

Ask for Romel to take you around. He is friendly.

I booked a room with the balcony (luxury suite) and did not receive a balcony. The pool which is part of the amenities and the main reason i booked the hotel, was unfer renovation which will last 5 weeks. (09/25/25, the date i visited). I was not informed thru expedia at all. I was notified at the hotel at the very last minute when i asked about the pool.

I have stayed at grand costal a lot of times due to work but I was never placed in a old gloomy room with cracked walls, tv remote not working and a paint job that looks like it was done in a hurry just to name a few this was the first time. If it was me alone I wouldn't have mind but after bragging so much about grand costal to my partner. And when I finally take her to the hotel on a date night we were placed in probably the oldest room the hotel has. To be honest I was so disappointed because I had never had this experience with the hotel before probably all the good rooms were booked out but I think it should've been communicated.
But besides that the customer service and the food are off the charts probably best in the business.

The property is under construction and the pool is closed. We brought our kids to Guyana to enjoy the site seeing and they wanted a hotel with a pool. Unfortunately we were not notified in advance of our stay.

The highway noise made it hard to sleep.

My partner and I are (fairly) regulars at Grand Coastal. It's our hotel of choice for domestic trips.

The good: restaurant is always great, food is always excellent, restaurant staff is always friendly. Leshaun was out server for most of our trip and has a great personality and warmth.

The ok: bathrooms could do with an upgrade. Shower always wets floor. Construction on cabinetry is kinda shoddy looking. Not major but could be upgraded for a more \"international\" experience.
The pool is also pretty small and right by the restaurant so it can be awkward at times.

The not bad but annoying: our check in process was a bit annoying with a guest mix up between 221 and 212 who were checking in at the same time.
Pretty much every menu item I wanted wasn't in stock our first night.
A few minor mix ups during the stay which honestly could have been smoothed over with a minor perk like a free drink or similar, but seems like the staff isn't too eager to give things away for the sake of a five star review lol :D

Overall, a good value stay with some minor hiccups.

The hotel website says, first of all, it comes with two feet. Do you offer free breakfast? That's not true. They advertise a presidential suite. A presidential suite is supposed to come with a kitchen and utensils. There was nothing in there, no coffee maker. The room is close to the road. And yeah, it's super loud; it's like you're sleeping under a truck. It's really, really loud, and yeah, they should not have advertised that room as a presidential suite because it's not a presidential suite.

For the pool, the pool never cleans. They will say you can go in. But the pool, it was never clean unless we ready to go in, then. They will try to clean it so yeah, it's not what they said it is ..

I hope one day the update the rooms and they can do the right advertising.Because it's freak advertising.

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Grand Coastal. The rooms and grounds were bright and clean. Drinks and food were amazing. What made the stay extra special was the staff who are extremely friendly & helpful. Special shoutout to Tiffany at the front desk, Sandy (hostess), Robert (server) who went above and beyond. Big mention to Jashua (server) who was extremely friendly and intuitive making each dining experience special.

Nothing was really within walking distance but Grand Coastal has a driver who will take you places for a fair price. Raj K took us around several times and he was extremely friendly and was a safe driver.

Next time I visit Guyana we will definitely book with Grand Coastal as the service is top notch!

I recently stayed at Grand Coastal Hotel from July 4th to 6th and had a fantastic experience. I booked the stay for myself and my sister, and we were both extremely pleased with the service and hospitality we received.

A special thank you to Romel, one of the staff members who truly made our stay memorable. He was not only kind and professional but also went the extra mile by driving us around and helping us get familiar with the area. His genuine care and friendly personality really stood out. It’s rare to meet someone so dedicated and thoughtful.

The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and well-managed. From check-in to check-out, everything was smooth and pleasant. I would absolutely recommend Grand Coastal Hotel and would gladly stay here again in the future.

Thanks again to the wonderful staff—especially Romel—for making our trip so enjoyable.

Wonderful service all around by the staff at GCH, special shout out to Charran, Oterieo, Besham.

We stayed 3 nights in the presidential suite, very large comfortable accommodation, separate living/dining complete with a small kitchenette.

Food onsite was top notch, very convenient to have the option of eating dinner in the restaurant or ordering it to your room. Brunch buffet on Sunday was amazing. The beef curry was standout!

Having an outdoor bar onsite to enjoy a few cold beers was awesome.

Hotel taxi service was very convenient, drivers were knowledgeable of best routes.

We will be returning!

I had a wonderful stay at The Grand Coastal Hotel from June 8 to June 12. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and taken care of. Everyone was incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive, making the entire experience enjoyable.

The food at the hotel was absolutely amazing—flavorful, well-prepared, and consistently satisfying. Special thanks to the hotel drivers, Beshma and Romel, who were exceptionally friendly and attentive throughout my stay. I’d also like to highlight Charran, who was very helpful and went above and beyond to assist whenever needed.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. Customer service overall was excellent and truly stood out.

I would definitely recommend The Grand Coastal Hotel to anyone visiting Guyana. Whether you’re there for business or leisure, this hotel offers a great combination of comfort, service, and hospitalituy.

This was my first time staying at Grand Coastal Hotel GY, so I was a bit skeptical, but to my surprise, everything worked out perfectly. I stayed in the presidential suite located on the second floor. The suite was beyond spacious and clean. The suite came with everything that's needed to make you feel like home away from home. The staff at Grand Coastal are very kind and patient. Special thanks to Mr. Kelsie, Alisa, and Randy for helping every time I had a question or needed something in my room. This staff here at GCH are excellent, from our pick up drive Romel to Hussein who tirelessly drove us place to place for my brothers wedding. David took care to make sure we were always looked after in the main dining hall. Although the GCH is not fancy, it is clean, comfortable, lovely food and staff that exceed expectation.

I booked a deluxe room, I was surprised that the room did not have a microwave, and it was a bit small to be called a deluxe room.
The thing is, by 9 am every day for one full week, renovation began with noise right outside my door, not cool.
When checking out, there was an outstanding bill for room service that I did not order. When the front desk showed me the signature, it was not mine, they fixed the problem, but this should have never happened.
The drivers, Raj and Romel are completely amazing drivers with awesome personalities.
I belive that I should have been informed about the renovations and noise at 9 am to have the choice to cancel my reservation or to keep it.
Overall, the experience was good, so I gave a 3 star for the hotel and 5 stars for the customer service and drivers.
