Fantastic location which is quite and peaceful location with wonderful mature trees. The service provided by Achini at the front office is well and beyond what was expected. She is a true asset to this hotel. If you want to see the elephants, this is a wonderful base for your safari.

A beautiful resort complex, the mini homes are spacious and comfortable. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The full board option was a good choice with breakfast lunch and dinner being a broad array for the buffet with differing choices each day with some staples remaining consistent. The chefs were kind enough to do hoppers in a way that I wanted that was fresh. The pool was closed at the time for maintenance, however you could use the sister hotel’s pool which was a 10min walk away.

The only minor issue was that the Expedia listing stated a discount on the food and beverages or spa treatments. When it came to check out, this hadn’t been lodged in the system and the bill hadn’t reflected the discount. Upon showing the hotel staff the Expedia listing, they then honored the discount. This is issue is not a reflection on the staff at the hotel but rather the head office who have made an error in the listing.

Really loved the garden setting of this property. The evening live background music was also superb. We found Shushani on the front desk extremely pleasant to deal with and she was always concerned about our comfort.
As well Ruwan from the dining room gave us excellent and attentive service.
These two individuals made us feel very comfortable.
The room was always cleaned very nicely and was very comfortable. The bathroom even though it had all the necessary ammenities just might need to be updated a bit as it looked old.
Everything else for example, the food, the layout and the location of the hotel was superb.
I do recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay close to Dambulla.

The welcome was very good. The rooms was lovely but after that; the service was awful! Glasses and plates left all around the pool area and on tables in the lounge. When you requeated something, it was either extremely slow arriving or on a few occasions, completely forgotten about! Nobody around the pool area to flag down to get a drink.
Numerous times in the evening I had to go to the bar after requesting drinks that didnt arrive.
Staff stood around talking instead of monitoring the area qnd cleaning tables.
Took a night off eating spicy food and opted for some western food which was shocking!
Drinks and wine especially are very expensive.
All in all, a lovely place but very poor servive!

The property of the hotel was nice with the lake, pool, an monkeys entertaining the alfresco dining. However we were put in dated room that had mold issues and required a cleaning. Value for money is not there with this hotel of the Cinnamon chain. They hotel was very busy with rushes of elbow to elbow buffet and seating. Had we known we would have booked another place more suited for couples or a quieter and cleaner rooms.

Although the check-in time is 2pm, and we arrived at 2:30, the room still wasn't ready until after 3pm.
Quiet bungalows set in nice gardens. The room was smaller than anticipated but adequate. Cleaning was thorough and the cleaning staff were excellent and created a lovely display made of towels on the bed which really cheered us up.
Very spacious and clean pool.
It's a pity that there isn't a pathway aall the way around the lake, but the grounds offer a short and pleasant walk.
A few eating establishments close by on the main road.

Fab hotel in a great location

Really enjoyed our stay here. The staff are really friendly and extremely helpful. The location is great as you're within easy reach of Sigiriya and the ruins at Poḷonnaruwa. The rooms are a good size and well appointed. Breakfast was great but we did feel the options in the evening limited as the mainly consisted of the buffet. We did eat out one night but due to the frequent power-cuts found we had to dine in the other as the hotel has a generator. One top tip was that we found the room service menu seemed to be very reasonably priced and offer more selection than was available in the bar!

Pleasant stay at this hotel....a perfect stop over after a day of sightseeing and cycling.

Resort hotel catering for organised coach trips in the main but that didnt distract from a lovely evening meal with some live music. Perfect to recharge the batteries for a long cycle the next day.

Tranquil location, world class attractions

Good and enjoyable stay and a fantastic reunion. Pleasent surroundings. Butterfly trees and hyperactive monkeys adding to pleasent surroundings. World class Sigiriya and Minneriya elephants and many other local attractions with in easy reach. Good large pool with ample room for water polo.
The hotel management - particularly Friday the 29th and Saturday the 30th June were very helpful and receive our special thanks.

We reached the hotel in the late evening.Though we booked at Cinnamon village but they were over booked.They accomodated us in Cinnamon Lodge,which is also nice hotel.They are near to each other.We were served by welcome drink.Hotel staffs are very gentle and polite.The rooms are individual house with a floor (ground +1),in some cases only ground floor.This ia a quiet area and the ambience of the room was also very nice.We specifically booked this hotel to visit the near by safari in early morning.This hotel also close to Shigriya and other tourist place.We only did dinner at their hotel and the feel was awesome.I would surely recommend this hotel and even recommend all Cinnamon hotels.Since the hotel stay at Cinnamon Red,Colombo was really good.You must try their Sri Lankan food,which we still miss 😊.

I'm a Sri Lankan and frequently travels across the country. This is a nice hotel surrounded by trees and nature. Peaceful and tranquil environment, relaxing pool. Can walk around the tress and have a very relaxing time. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast buffet had a good spread. The dinner experience was not that great, we ordered from the in room dining menu and food was not properly cooked (beef was too chewy, prawns slightly over cooked and pasta was tasteless). However we complained when we ordered desserts and they gave us all our desserts free of charge.

The location is superb backed with excellent good. The Ayurveda massage is super and brings back life after a hectic tour. Food is superb and tfe location of the restaurant overlooking the pool and lake is breathtaking. Overall a beautiful location with excellent facilities.

Great Staff in a great Hotel

Our stay here was perfect in every way.
Check in very straight forward and we were greeted with a cool towel and a refreshing drink. Our luggage was taken to our room before we even got there. Our room had 2 single beds and within 1 hour it was sorted out to a double bed.
Food here is excellent with a vast array of salads, soups and western and Asian main dishes. They also have a la carte at very reasonable prices as well as a snack menu too.
Every member of staff we came in contact with was courteous and very attentive.
Would we stay here again? Most definitely yes.

It is located at Habarana village, where is not much to do, but very near from Minneriya & Kadulla, Polonaruwa and Sigirya & Dambulla. Go there if you can!!

A place like a retreat

From our room, we could only see just trees, monkeys, elephants and the lotus in the 6th century lake. No traffic noise, no sign of fast life and the very polite staff greeting you whenever they see you. It was a real holiday, away from everything. Simple yet the best.

Habarana Lake it's your garden

Cinnamon village offer tired beds, not ventilated rooms(I enjoy fresh air). The pool is fine, as Habarana is too much hot you feel blessed to have one. The breakfast is excellent, as vegan I had plaint of choices.
The staff is OK. To be honest I do not enjoy people asking every second if I wish something, but it's OK, it's how the business works.
There's nothing special in this hotel, excepted the location, on the beautiful habanara lake. Just close the hotel you can see a elephant tortured by money makers who hire the poor animal for whites feel as a sultan, according the hotel staff the hotel has no connection with this business. I hope they don't encourage their guests into this kind of activities.

Good Property / Decent Price

While definitely a step down from the adjacent property, Cinnamon Lodge, our intent was sightseeing while in Habarana and we enjoyed the stay. As I recall, each cottage is split into two units and we never heard our neighbors. We found one cockroach in the room, as well as a small non-poisonous snake on an outdoor chair. My wife called for assistance and several employees soon arrived to remove it, which was somewhat entertaining but much appreciated. Overall, we enjoyed the options and quality of breakfast, but the open air concept invites flies - which can be distracting. If we returned to the area, we would probably stay at one of the Cinnamon properties...especially for the [low] cost.

Large scale 3star family park. Not recommended if your into boutique hotel accommodations. Piotesque location, great swimming pool. Right next door is the 5 star Habarana lodge, more upscale but equally in size.
Food in Habarana village is average at best. Drinks are pricy.

Watch reception they may charge you twice

The pool was being repaired so we had to use the sister hotels pool which they supplied a shuttle for.
There was a large issue on checkout when reception tried to charge my credit card for the room when I had already paid via hotels.com
A long conversation later and it turns out this credit card was not even mine and it is between expedior and the hotel. Something I did not need to be told about and did not need to be made feel like they were double charging me for the room

The first room we were allocated smelled of mildew, had rusty lampshades and a large patch of mould on the wall at the head of the bed. I asked for a manager to come and view the room, but two requests and an hour later I went to Reception and spoke to an employee. I explained that I was not pleased at being kept waiting so long and wanted to speak to the manager. I was offered another room, but said I would not accept it until I had viewed it first. We were upgraded to a room in H block overlooking the lake, which was spacious, clean and odour free. We saw one of the worst and one of the better rooms in this resort.

Lovely resort with a couple of faults

The resort is fresh and clean and set i beautiful surroundings at the lake. The rooms are big and comfy with everything you need. What was annoying was the employee which tried selling us safari trips from an off-resort competitor from the moment we sat foot in the resort. When we discussed prices with another safari-guide this guy suddenly showed up again and tried to raise the price!

Another turnoff was the music in the bar. Both cd and live band played so loudly that we ate twice at the neighbouring resort. (And we're not old farts..)

Home away from home ~ the friendliest hotel stay!

Upon arrival at the hotel, while the staff checked our booking details, we were shown a comfortable sofa to relax in and served free drinks as a \"welcome\" along with refreshing cool towels. This was surprising and very welcoming after a long day of travel. Then, we were taken to our rooms with a very friendly porter who cheerfully carried our luggage amidst our concern over their weight. The room service staff were very friendly as well, always quick to serve and look after our needs during our stay. Dinner and Breakfast was buffet style with a variety of starters, main dishes, desserts and drinks. I'd suggest including breakfast as part of your board because it is totally worth it. As for dinner buffet, it might be expensive for those on a tight budget... especially if you order drinks or food aside from the buffet, as a waiter took and asked for our orders without providing us a menu with prices clearly stated. Aside for this small glitch, our stay at this hotel was fantastic. The rooms were clean, air conditioned, and even though there was no mosquito net, a mosquito repellent odour device that you need to plug in was provided. Bathrooms were clean and well supplied. Complimentary coffee, tea and water bottles. Fully stocked mini bar. Wifi worked fine for my laptop- though a little slow, but my friends found it difficult to receive wifi for their i-phones from our rooms though closer to the reception, they were able to. All in all, an amazing stay! Thank you Chaaya!

Good hotel for touring the Cultural Triangle. Nice swimming pool, good buffet breakfast, tasty and affordable a la carte menu for dinner. They also offer a dinner buffet which we did not take. Enjoyed the monkeys and birdlife in the hotel surroundings. Recommended.
