Check in process was a headache . The front desk ladies weren’t helpful or cared to find a solution. Upon booking they advised we needed my son birth certificate but no where in the booking was that advised . Good thing we did have it . The hotel is great ! In a good area. I would recommend better front desk to assist since it is the face of the hotel stay and interactions .

Friendly staff. The hotel is located by the main plaza. Good restaurants within walking distance. I recommend restaurant \"Carnes y Olivos.\"
The hotel has a private parking, the entrance to the parking lot is located on the street at the rear of the hotel.

We had a great experience in this hotel . Location excellent in front of the main square.
The room is clean , simple , rustic . The bathroom was okay , with hot water .
The breakfast needs some improvement.
The hotel has a rooftop terrace very nice ! If you are a VIP Expedia customer the cocktails are free . The weather was perfect you are allowed to smoke and the singer was great .

The whole hotel is Extremely clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are amazing and the Beds are extremely comfortable. My niece had a massage in the room and she said it was amazing. Great location every thing is walking distance.

Lack of Managment

Horrible experience.

I recently stayed at Hotel Plaza Mayor in Villa de Leyva, Colombia, with high expectations due to past experiences. Unfortunately, the hotel failed to meet these expectations in various ways. Despite the beautiful location and terrace, our stay was marred by poor customer service and management issues.

The restaurant manager, Sofia, was unhelpful and rude, failing to deliver on promised surprises for my birthday. The waitress was excellent, but her efforts couldn't compensate for Sofia's poor attitude. We were also kicked out of the terrace after 10 pm, and a pre-paid mariachi serenade was disrupted due to false complaints from other guests.

Upon arrival, no one offered to help with our luggage, and the front desk staff showed no sense of urgency or customer service skills. The TV in our room didn't work, and when we reported it, the staff offered to help at midnight, which we refused. When we returned to the hotel, the TV still wasn't working, and we were moved to another room, where we found a dirty bathroom and a shower full of black hair (despite my wife being blonde).

These issues stem from a lack of training and operational leadership, leaving us extremely dissatisfied and ruining my birthday weekend. I would not recommend this hotel until management addresses these issues.\"

Really poor service. I was left waiting 30min outside the door because I arrived after midnight and no one was there. Room was not cleaned on second day despite clear communication to do so. I will not come back.

We stayed in the suite with the plaza view, restaurant had music until 9pm but the hotel a crossed had a party until 4am. If you don’t mind the music until late, then location is amazing. Hotel was clean and massage was one of the best I’ve ever had.

Great location, but hotel needs work in the room

The hotel is very well located, but bedding is horrible. Villa de Leyva is very cold and it has just a couple of thin blankets, so at night you can feel the weather. Pillows are in plastic material and have the sheet over, so it’s not that comfortable. It is dog friendly so you can expect a 5am bark in the room next to you. It’s not a couples hotel to be able to sleep in.

The hotel was beautiful and the plaza was right outside the hotel. It is a stunning view. However, this isnt the reason I would come back. The food service manager of the property went above and beyond for my daughter who has celiacs. She was so caring and helpful. She was a hard worker trying to accommodate us and everyone else. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great but super HARD Beds.

Might as well sleep on the floor. We've stayed in 100's of Hotels and this had the hardest bed out of them all. Bathroom also smelled like damp towels. But other than that it was great. Beautiful location and great staff!

El hotel es bellísimo, súper conveniente, central con salida a la plazoleta. Limpio y con parqueadero en la parte de atrás. El bufet desayuno buena variedad de pan, huevos revueltos, pericos, pancakes, chocolate, café y cereales. Una terraza con vista a la plaza y iglesia. Las cócteles no fueron muy buenos, casi ni se les sentía el alcohol y se demoraron mucho.

Amazing location, but some basic comforts missing

The property is gorgeous, and the location is as central as you can get. But definitely prepare for thin walls and older rooms. We could hear everything happening outside of our room (1st floor with foot traffic), so hard to get a good night's sleep. We also didn't have any hot water in our shower.

Fabulous stay!

Beautiful hotel right on the Main square. Make sure to head up to the rooftop to enjoy the views or sit by a roaring fire on the second floor if it’s chilly. Great, accommodating staff and wonderful breakfast. Would definitely stay again!

Mi esposo y yo tuvimos una experiencia HORRIBLE en un fin de semana de puente. El personal y la dueña/administradora del hotel fueron groseros y dejaban a muchos de los huéspedes hablando solos. Llegamos unos 30 min antes de la hora de check in y la habitación no estaba lista, salimos, regresamos 2 hrs después y TODAVÍA no estaba lista. Para la hora de la cena (ofrecen servicio de comida hasta las 12am) esperamos hora y media por una pizza. Quizá hubo falta de preparación o imprevistos pero si sos administradorx y estas en puentes tenes que tenes que tener planes de emergencia para brindar buen servicio.
