The room was spacious and clean, and the staff was extremely kind and helpful. The property has a safe locked parking on the same street that you can access whenever necessary. The breakfast is made fresh and was delicious typical Nica food. We had a great stay!

This hotel was very. Clean, well-kept, and friendly staff. Its walkable to cafes, restaurants, and other attractions and it is conveniently located. If you want a quiet and peaceful night sleep, then I highly recommend this hotel.

I didn't like the overwhelming smell of cleaning agents in the room which I had to breath all night long. Also was disappointed that the room didn't have a window.
The Breakfast was great and the staff were excellent as well.

Booked a last minute trip to Leon with the family. Found this hotel and could not be happier with our stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable for the little ones in our family. Staff was friendly and helpful. The area is walkable and safe. Would highly recommend Hotel La Posada El Doctor.

A very unique hotel with beautiful art and furniture. The staff were accommodating and the cooks made a great breakfast and coffee.

The front reception staff was super friendly and helpful. We had to park our car and that process was off site but super easy with their staff. The location is super central, safe, quiet and peaceful. The rooms were simple but exactly what we were expecting. The common area was beautiful and very relaxing. The breakfast was lovely which was a bonus:)
Overall a very great stay.

Horrible experience, no wifi & run down, scam

If I pay over 70 USD for a room with Wifi in the US, I expect a halfway decent room with hot shower and wifi. In Nicaragua I would expect at least the same if not more, considering everthing here is much cheaper (e.g. wages). So when I paid over 70 USD at this hotel (looking forward to a decent hotelrooom for my birthday after sleeping in the van for 3 months), I was VERY disappointed to get a room where the slow wifi was working only 5% of the time, where the shower was COLD, and where a 2nd towel, a towel to step on or a hand towel to dry hands, soap to wash hands in the half broken tiny sink (which is in a hole in the wall making it impossible to cleanly shave) were all missing & where in generel the whole room and bathroom is very run down. Don't expect daily room service! I don't mind but its another indicator of the value this hotel brings. I have never had this bad value for money before. The staff didn't care about trying to fix the wifi and our complaint via Hotels.com was ignored from the hotel. Horrible! Save your money and go somewhere where else!

If you still want to pay too much for a run down room with non existent wifi, I would suggest to not book in advance as the hotel will be empty anyways and last minute prices are much cheaper (still way too expensive for what you get though). I am aware that dynamic pricing is part of modern life but it still feels like a slap in the face to see the last minute price after you've paid so much for inexistent services

-Hotel have no hot water available for shower which is a standard amenity you would expect. When I asked why, they did not mention this for their customers they told me. Hot water shower availability something you would expect in any hotel.
-Hotel has 11 rooms and two of them had no windows and unfortunately we have stayed in one of them. Felt really dark and dingy and smelt. Check before booking as you maybe in one of them

Good for quick stay

Our room was likely 10 x 10 feet. The first room we were shown was even smaller, so we asked to be moved. Ok for one night stays for proximity to the town center. Most hotels in this area seem to be along the same lines (other options are hostels/ shared rooms), so worth being prepared. The common seating area of this hotel is pleasant, so we spent some time there after coming back from touring the town while the room cooled down. Javi the cat was a delight to be around :)

My stay here was good, the hotel looked just as it did in the pictures. Small, cute and pretty gardens. However, the rooms were smaller than I thought, very tight, specially the bathroom, the bed didn’t look too clean. We only stayed here for a night so it wasn’t so bad, but other than that it was ok. Thank you to the staff for taking care of my luggage, as I had to leave it in the lobby after checking out for wn excursion (which I was skeptical about because it’s not exactly a lobby, it’s a desk in the hallway open to the public), but I took the risk and my luggage was just fine.

Nice hotel...not in ideal location

La Posada del Doctor is a nice property. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The hotel is clean and very safe. Rooms are too small compared to other hotels we stayed in during our trip. Our problem was the location. We didn't realize it wasn't on the city's center; where all evening activities take place. The hotel is only about 10-15 walking to the center, but those streets get really quiet and lonely at night. The city center is booming until the late hours. We would still recommend the hotel as it's a very nice property.

Great friendly staff. Secure off street parking and lovely courtyard. Rooms are very small with little space for much more than the bed however. Good place for a night or two, but unless you fancy a convent the rooms will start to feel tight for longer stays. Otherwise recommend it highly.

Very Cool Colonial Building

the Hotel was very well maintained, excellent bathroom, great bed, my room was cozy and had a overhead fan as well as an Air Conditioner .

the hotel staff cleaned the room daily and also ensured I had a breakfast every morning.

the staff were very helpful hooking me up with a good tour company and general directions to get around Leon

Charming boutique hotel in the heart of Leon.

The staff was very friendly and helpful from the moment I walked in the lobby. The room was very clean, the bedding extremely comfortable, perfect working A/C, cable TV, etc.I was unable to step out for dinner and the staff was more than happy to help me get food delivered to the hotel. I would definitly stay there again!

Inexpensive hotel close to everything

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in May. Chose this hotel as it was in the downtown area and a good price. And it's fine if you are out and about for most of the day. The rooms are very tiny - 12' x 12'. The courtyard is nice for breakfasts.
