The best thing about the hotel is its location in the 1st district. Turn left, then left again and you’re in the pedestrian area outside St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Lots of bars, restaurants and stores to explore. Directly across from the hotel is the amazing Greek Orthodox Church full of icons, and next to it a historic tavern where Mozart et al hung out. Just down the hill tram stops and the underground. It’s a historic hotel, and the breakfast is incredible!

Room was comfortable and old style amenities, but the tv was impossible- sound with no picture, shuts off after an hour ( sleep timer was off ) Told the front desk 2 times , still never go fixed. One lady at front was very friendly, the other one not at all. Overall, for the price I paid, I would suggest going elsewhere. Must say, very centrally located!

Very central to everything. That is most everything to see within walking distance. Close to subway. Grocery store nearby. Decent breakfast. Quiet. Room attended to every day. Very good service. Staff were welcoming.

A lovely stay in Vienna ! The staff were really kind, the complimentary breakfast was good, and the room was nice and clean.

A few things to note. The hotel is currently going through some construction which we weren’t made aware of until closer to our stay. We did not find it at all disruptive to our stay (no noise etc) but just a thing to be aware of. Also, the rooms are equipped with air conditioning but does not run during fall and winter months.

It got a bit stuffy but you can open the windows so it wasn’t bad in the cooler fall temperature.

Overall, an excellent stay and was very walkable to the places we wanted to visit!

We were two friends staying only one night before as cruise but they had taxi service to the hotel, had a room ready early when we arrived, and even traded rooms at no extra cost for more beds! Charming, so helpful, centrally located and th Ed only thing needing attention is breakfast where nothing was served hot.

Fantastic place to stay as a family

We had a great stay at the hotel. For an old hotel it is spotlessly clean and very grand. The room was large with high ceilings and big windows. One large superking and two singles beds. Very large bathroom too.
The airline had lost our luggage and the staff couldn't have been more helpful trying to phone the airport and making enquiries for us. It is an expensive hotel but compares well to all the other hotels in this area. It's perfectly positioned for the best part of Austria.

Hotel was very clean and in a great location. Served a great breakfast. 2 minute walk to metro and could walk to all major landmarks and surrounded by restaurants. We travelled as a family of 4 (2 teenage daughters) and stayed in a family room (queen bed, single bed and a foldout bed), a little cramped but manageable for 2 nights. Highly recommend for a couple and one child. Upto you if your kids can handle a foldout bed for the 4th child.

The service at Hotel Austria was great. There was always someone available to assist when I had questions. I also arranged an airport transfer and the driver was there when he needed to be. Overall I had a great experience. The only downside was the walls are very thin and I could hear people in the next room and going up and down the stairs throughout the night.

Nice hotel, friendly desk staff at check in. Nice, old place. Room had a courtyard view. No air conditioning but there was a good floor fan and large opening windows.Very nice firm bed with good pillows. The bathroom has a walk-in shower with a glass door but the door opened out so that it hit the edge of the metal towel rail when about half way open. I was worried that it might get broken if it was opened a bit too fast. The room had a kettle, tea, and instant coffee. Breakfast was included and the buffet was very good. Overall I liked my stay here.

This is a smaller hotel that is family operated. I can not say enough excellent things about. The rooms are immaculate, the reception staff become friends immediately upon entrying. There is nothing that they will will not do to help you. Quiet in the middle of \"old town\" lots of night and day activities....great vibes in the local community....The restoration done to the building brings together old and new....just stay there you will not regret it...on top of it the included breakfest was better than your mother's...good selection and well prepared...

The hotel was lovely and clean.
BUT, There was a marathon in the Vienna the day we checked in and it took an hour to drive around the marathon to get to the hotel. Letting us know about the marathon would have been helpful.
Also, sending us offsite to park in a separated parking facility during this same marathon was a nightmare as well.

Hotel Austria Wien is a traditionally styled hotel right in the centre of Vienna but down a quiet alley way.

The hotel organised a driver to collect us as we had a late arrival. The greeting at the hotel was friendly and efficient and the hotel is exceptionally clean (I had cause to move a bedside table and still couldn’t find any dust!) if perhaps more traditional in style than some people may like.

The 4 person room was a good size with a large king sized bed plus 2 singles. The bathroom clean and had soap and shower gel provided. A mini bar is also provided with local wine, beer, cola and mineral waters all at very reasonable prices for a hotel minibar.

Breakfast is a welcome start to the day with a selection of meats, cheeses, bread and cereals.

All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

In summary a good hotel in a superb location. Everything you need from a hotel!

This was a hidden gem of a hotel! There’s staff on 24 hours a day. The status extremely professional, friendly, and phenomenal in-service. The rooms were clean and very up-to-date. I suggest taking the Vienna tram sightseeing tour on the first day as I can make an idea of what Vienna has to offer. Room was very spacious with beautiful setting having all the necessary amenities and very clean. Breakfast is very good and hotel staff provided excellent service.

The opposite of a generic business or hip hotel--so Vienna. Wonderful location, great multi-lingual folks at reception, breakfast lovely, in a gracious, beautifully-maintained and cared for old building. They even honor their housekeeping staff by putting a framed picture on each floor of the housekeeper responsible for that floor, including her name. That's classy! The economy room is the best bargain ever.
