We arrived early & the hotel held our luggage while we explored the city. The hotel is located one block from Eyre Square. The rooms are generous in size & our stay was pleasant & quiet. We enjoyed a drink in the hotel bar & the atmosphere was very fun. We also did a tour with Wild Atlantic Tours & they picked us up directly across the street from the hotel. We had a wonderful time & enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful stay in Galway and highly recommend the Victoria Hotel especially for its exceptional location within the centre . We even hauled our suitcases from the train station as it was only minutes away. Breakfast was fine , bed was comfortable …. Good solid spot in heart of Galway!

Nice property, great location. However, we booked and paid for our room months ahead and had asked for (and been confirmed) a room with a Queen bed. We are both over 6ft tall, so bed size was important to the booking. When we arrived (around 6PM) we were told that our bedding of choice was no longer available because it had been given to someone who had checked in earlier. ??? This would have been understandable if we had not paid in advance. In any case, we had to make due with twin beds that were small for our requirements, Very disappointing

The hotel staff was great. The breakfast was great. The hotel not so much. We were on the side of the hotel where we could hear bottles being discarded overnight many times, then the trash truck collecting the bottles very early in the morning. The hotel has no air conditioning so we had to leave our windows open to get any cool air at all. We would not stay at this hotel again.

This is a great hotel because of the ease of access to the shops in Galway. We prepaid for parking at the hotel and just used that payment ticket to come as go as we pleased from the parking garage. The rooms are smaller than American hotel rooms but very comfortable. The staff was helpful and polite. We slept with the windows open because the weather was so nice.

This is the price of a luxury hotel in any other place. I’ve stayed in nicer hostels than this location. I would not recommend this hotel unless you get it for $100 CAD a night,

Nice hotel - the room that we received was probably the worse one on our trip. Very small, looking at the floor map, the smallest available. If you are claustrophobic, this is not for you. For two nights, it was ok. Staff was very friendly and check-in was smooth. If you drive, there is no on site parking and you have to park in one of the parking garages about 2-3 blocks away. Don’t forget to get your rebate parking slip when you leave which you can apply to your parking cost. Location is great and you can walk to everything, including the ferry if you are going over to the Aran Islands.

Property is around the corner from train station making and just a block from all the shops and restaurants. Very convenient location. Staff wasn’t super friendly, breakfast on site was not good and rooms do not have AC. It was cool outside so having the window open was helpful. They did offer a couple of small fans which helped too but I imagine in warmer months it could get quite hot and stuffy in the rooms. Location was the best feature of the property!

The only redeeming things about this hotel are the bar downstairs and its location in proximity to the train and Eyre Square. Our booking was misplaced when we arrived, but the staff was really kind and offered us a free drink while they looked for it. The room was nothing like the photos, it was very grungy and small in comparison to what we thought we were getting. The room was covered in dust. The desk and shelf in the closest clearly had not been cleaned for some time. It was odd that the towel rack is inside the shower, leaving any unused towels to get moist. The worst of it was the stained mattresses. There was no fitted sheet on the bed, just a thin sheet to cover the mattress, and when that sheet lifted you could clearly see yellow and brown stains all over the mattress. Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra to stay elsewhere.

The hotel is in walking distance from the bus/train station and the Dock to get to ferry. Staff is very polite and accommodating to unusual request like placing the med in the fridge safely. The hotel is centrally located in Galway. Everything is within walking distance yet it is tucked away in a quiet corner of the city. The food and drinks at the hotel are delicious and the staff is accommodating. Something to note is that the heater in the room automatically turns off in the middle of the night, so the room got chilly during the wee hours of the night. I told the staff this and they kindly provided me a second comforter and portable heater for my room. I appreciated the extra service the staff went!

We very much enjoyed the dining, we had our dinners there each evening and the food was wonderful. We will definitely stay again when we make our way back to Galway!

We had a wonderful stay, the hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful with all of our needs during our stay. The hotel is extremely close to all the attractions and shopping near the hotel. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Galway.

Old, very average, and over-priced
Very dated hotel with bare-bones front desk and management. Rooms and the elevator feel from the early 90s. Over priced for what you get, but that goes for all Galway city hotels. Coffee for breakfast was 80s-90s (awful) Cona coffee so kinda representative of the entire stay tbf.
For a couple night out & 1-night stay, it's bare-bones OK.
Frankly, wouldn't stay for any other reason.
Btw, you need to give reception your card details upon check-in, even if you have prepaid your room in full

Well located hotel in centre of Galway. Reception staff v friendly. Room was clean and and comfy. Bathroom felt recently refurbished. Room was v warm and didn’t seem to be way of controlling temp, but just opened window. Good value. Would stay again.

Location is ideal - a stone's throw from Eyre's Square. Rooms were perfect, everything in it that was needed. Entrance was warm & inviting.

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times, but very disappointed with this stay. Room very small and noisy. Looking out onto car park with men working…. No curtains on the windows so people could see in… no hot water in the room. I reported this on the first day but nothing was done about it.

The staff, facilities, and restaurant/on site night club were womderful. The rooms are average at best. But, the location is what makes this hotel worth it. Walking distance to the Latin Quarter and Quay street. Right off of Eyre Square. And easy walking distance to the bus and train stations.

The Victoria hotel is a perfect location for exploring Galway. Just a block away from the town square and numerous shops and restuarants. The room was very clean although a bit on the small side with just the basics. - ie no mini fridge, microwave. No parking on site but not too inconvient to park at the nearby lots for 10-15 euro daily. Make sure to get your parking validated
