Beautiful hotel in a privilege location. Close to the ocean WOW WOW! Rooms clean, comfortable and stylish with a contemporary decoration. The breakfast, worth it, abundant and delicious. I want to be back already! The front desk very friendly, professional and kind.

We really enjoyed our stay here and liked the layout of the room being a loft style with a bathroom on each level. The balcony was nice and had 3 chairs and a great view. The breakfast wasn't great. The coffee machine tastes like nescafe instant coffee. The breakfast options never change and while you can make a sandwich for breakfast there is no mayo. The pools looked nice and it's right by a beach.

Great location, short(ish) walk to town, sea swimming area adjacent. Breakfast and evening buffet very good, pool great. Had to ask for room to be cleaned and items that should be there without question ie correct number of chairs & table on balcony. Good value but a little dated. Some staff excellent, others less so.

15 minute walk to town. Decent breakfast buffet, same every morning. Nice pool area and a spot to swim in the ocean too. We had a garden view room. Room was pleasant but the beds were very uncomfortable ( could be personal preference I suppose) Staff friendly and everyone spoke English

Just got back after a week stay with my family and we would recommend this hotel. It was clean and had lots of parking nearby. The breakfast included was great (when we made it on time thanks to jet leg), but the bar lounge was awesome and I’ll be missing their “galao”. Indoor and outdoor pools were both great, and our suite was perfect for what we needed.

Gorgeous hotel with beautiful views!

We loved staying here! The grounds are beautiful and our lofted room was spacious. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious! Would like to see more outlets in the room. Check in time is 4 pm, which is on the later side. We had two hours to kill, so We went to the bar to hang out. Bruno took good care of us!

We stayed in 3 different properties during our trip, and while the property needs tic, the staff was amazing. We had a mishap with our inter island flight we were able to get in the night before, our room had the loft with 2 bedrooms and bathrooms and a great view. To top it off, bfast was included but we would miss it the day of our departure, but the arranged for us a lunch box which was a special gesture that most hotels don’t do! The property is a perfect location and has amazing potential with some renovations.

A pleasant hotel with helpful and responsive staff. Some things, like balcony furniture and aspects of the bathroom are showing signs of their age! Breakfast was good but not exceptional. Overall very satisfactory and good value.

I must say we had an unfortunate check-in experience. We were only staying for 1 night. We arrived at 10am and were leaving around 5:30am the next morning. We had 1 free breakfast included with our stay, and because we were leaving the following day before the breakfast would even open, we asked if we could have breakfast on the day we arrived. We were told that that's "against the rules". After much arguing back and forth, they eventually let us have our breakfast. We had to insist to speak with a manager over what was clearly common sense. There was plenty of food left and the dining hall was not full of people. It was an unnecessary way to start off the stay. The hotel room itself was lovely, beautiful view, very comfortable beds, the sheets smelled amazing, clean & spacious bathroom, gorgeous pool. All of the other staff were incredibly friendly and they helped us call a taxi to the airport the next morning. They are able to store your luggage if you arrive before check-in, which we appreciated. Easy walking distance from town and a small grocery store right across the street. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone, but I don't understand why they made such a fuss about the breakfast day.

The rooms could use some updating and the facade is rusting a badly needs painting.

Breakfast was good and the dinner buffet was average (although there seemed to be no end to the waiters refilling our wine glasses).

The swimming was very good, both the pool and the ocean. Free parking, which was good since it is a long walk to the down town.

The staff at the desk were exceptional in every way.

Great value for a 2-person room with a view of the ocean and breakfast included! If you like to walk, this property is very walkable to town and restaurants, etc. The staff was very helpful when asked. No toiletries beyond soap in the bathroom. Great views from the bar and from the pool deck.

AC lacking, overall good

AC in the room does not reach the top floor, makes it much hotter than it is downstairs. This wouldn’t be an issue if we were on the first floor because the ambient heating from the sun wouldn’t be so bad. The view was amazing though.

It is a very large property and the ocean view rooms are quite nice and better than what the pictures show. We had a garden view and then upgraded to ocean. The hotel is a decent walk in to town but is very manageable. Hotel staff was wonderful and even arranged for a birthday surprise. Access to the gym was great and the swimming would be fantastic if it had been warmer If we went back to the island, we’d stay.

Great stay. Loved being so close to the public swimming area in the ocean while also having the option of the lounge chairs at the hotel pool. Front desk staff were very helpful both with recommendations and making reservations. It is a bit of a walk from the city center, but there is also a bus.

We stayed for four nights and arrived at noon. We were told checkin was at two but the staff did not ask our names nor check our booking. We had lunch at their restaurant and got our room at 1:30. Some staff had problem communicating in English with us. In general most people on the island were not fluent in English. The hotel was in good condition but outside needs some TLC. Our room was small but clean and nice. It has a great view of the cove. There is a public wharf where people swim. No sandy beach. There are two outdoor pools and one indoor pool. Parking is underground. The electronic door throb opens the room door, parking garage barrier and activate the room electrical supply. Free breakfast was good but the same food for all four days. There is a free standing tower by the pool area with a spiral stairway. Nice view at the top.

Lovely view and atmosphere!

I only had two days on the island while visiting friends who booked this hotel for me. My room had a lovely view and I enjoyed an afternoon taking advantage of the location and was able to relax around the pool and swim in the ocean close by.

We stayed 4 nights here while visiting Terceira in early May. The setting is beautiful right on the ocean. The morning breakfast was a nice touch and the coffee was Fantastic! Nice amenities with an indoor pool, outdoor pool, and gym. My only complaint would be that the 2 twin beds were hard as rocks with some sort of plastic wrapping below the sheet. It actually hurt to sleep on it. The rest of the stay was great.

Nice hotel on the outskirts of town

Booked a room with land view balcony....room was on -1 floor, patio with walls, no view of any land, as we were below ground,,,, made us feel like we were in prison....we spoke with the desk clerk who stated this was considered land view and they were trying to change it on website,,,,said he would speak with the manager but that hotel was fully booked,,,,,eventually had room changed 2days later to what was considered a garden view,,,,,a big improvement...desk staff, restaurant staff and cleaning staff all polite and professional....hotel is about a 15-20 min walk into town.....good breakfast choices, lots of room in the dining area

Great Hotel. The beds are tiny. Very clean & homey. GREAT VIEW of the Sea and Mountains! Wonderful View every day! The BREAKFAST is the SAME every day X 7! They need to work on the Pool & it need more activity for the Azores at night. Everything was dead at night. It needs more Night Life.

Not good value for the money at al!
Personnel at the reception with very poor knowledge about the island and personnel at the restaurant very very slow (twice in a row the dinner took an hour and a half to be served and the restaurant only had 3 or 4 tables with people).
Wifi not working at all in the rooms, breakfast very simple, the rooms didn't had flipflops or bathrobe and tv was not even flat screen (still one of those big box tvs from the 90's) as any decent 4 star hotel should be.

Perfect home base in Angra/best hotel property to stay at in Terceira

It's not a four seasons so don't expect that. With that said, some reviews on trip advisor for this property are way too harsh. The place is quite nice, deserving of its 4 star rating in the Azores. It might be a 3 star in Canada but there it's a 4 & it's fine. The staff is great, they'll do anything to help you, the wellness centre is great, the grounds are beautiful & well kept, the buffet breakfast that is included daily is just fine & if you have travelled in Europe before then you'll know your room will have 2 twin beds vs a king or queen (like in Canada/US). The hotel has 4 rooms with double beds & all the rest have 2 twins you can push together. All in all, have reasonable expectations & Hotel Do Caracol will probably exceed them.

The hotel was not in the center but it didn't bother us at all. The room was clean, big enough with a terrace with a perfect view of the sea. The acoustic was great since we didnt hear anything except the waves. The pool was just bellow us and the public beach under the pool, so it was a minute walk from our room. The beach had a gurad and was also kept in great condition.
