The Sky Blue Hotel is in a perfect location, with many restaurants nearby and everything within walking distance. It’s very convenient for exploring the area. The breakfast was nice and enjoyable, making for a great start to the day. Overall, a comfortable stay in a great location.

Horrible experience. I stayed here twice on my mongolian trip and the air conditioning wasn't working in both rooms, and apparently in any room in the hotel. The temperature in my room was 32 C by noon and 28 C at night with both windows open! When i complained at the front desk, they said the ac was broken, which i find hard to believe as it was working in the hallways and lobby. After all, it doesn't take a week to fix an AC, in case they really wanted to. They told me to just open the windows instead! What i think happened was that they turned it off in the rooms to save money thinking that just because it is cool outside the guests wouldn't need the ac in the rooms. More than 150 usd per night to not even have ac in the room! Unacceptable! And you couldn't even turn off the fan of the ac that just kept blowing warm air inside the room. Shower drain smelled of sewage. The water overflows into the bathroom when you take a shower. Also, the area is really noisy (loud music, cars), lots of traffic, the building is half offices so there are lots of people coming and going, lifts always busy, the lobby looks more like a train station than a hotel. When you turn off the lights at night, all outlets stop working, so don't even think about charging you phone overnight. Wifi is bad and keeps failing. This place is a let down in so many ways it is not even funny! This is not a 4-5 stars hotel by any stretch of the imagination!

This is not a 5 stars hotel by any stretch of the imagination!!! The air conditioning in my room was not working, which means u pay more the 150usd to stay in a cooking oven! The area is noisy and full of traffic. The building is half offices and half hotel, so there are a lot of people coming and going, busy elevator, a true mess! Stay somewhere else, trust me!

Floor rags were dirty, the bedsheets were terrible. The price I paid for is NOTHING! What matters is the location. Otherwise, the overall experience was average. The hotel needs aggressive maintenance improvements.

Beautiful building. A little shabby in places. Our room was accross from a beer garden with a stage and even on the 16th floor, it was pretty loud late into the night. Most of the restaurants in the hotel were closed during our entire stay. The Blue Sky lounge was very disappointing. The staff were very friendly and did their best to accommodate and the views were very nice. The pool and spa were a great perk.

Old, hot, horrible rip off
The worst “4-star hotel” to exist. My room was 32°C when I entered. They didn’t offer to refund me. They said everyone was experiencing the hot air blowing and they ran out of fans. They moved me to a room that was also hot. In addition, the receptionists were all inadequate, couldn’t speak English, told me there were no food options for me when there were. The gym was also burning hot and small and open few hours. Horrible hotel. Do not waste your money here.

The Blue Sky is centrally located so is within walking distance of most points of interest in Ulaanbaatar. We went in the off-season so there were some minor problems; the first room had no electricity and the laundry products used on the sheets caused minor skin irritation rashes on my spouse and me--not uncommon for them but new for me. The water pressure is good but the hot water in particular needed to be run for a bit to get the visible iron out; even after, the hot water retained an iron scent. Still, the staff were quite helpful and got everything sorted so some of this may have just been bad luck on our part.

Hotel had a lockdown and I could not enter the hotel in the evening. Because of that I ended up staying at another hotel for one night. Later they refused to refund me for the night that I didn't stay at the hotel which was blocked by police and I could not enter. During the incident, the hotel didn't inform me of what is going on even though they have had access to my contact information.

Great location. Despite some of the reviews I found the staff very helpful and friendly. Some of the room features are strange (like light controls) and you may need to have them explained by the staff. Also, due to its location can be noisy. I would request a room as high up as possible. Restaurant all over the place - one night good, one night awful. The breakfast buffet is above average. All in all a good stay in the best part of UB.

I work in Ulaanbaatar and I was fed up with having no hot water, in my district, due to annual hot water pipes repair. It was a pleasant one night stay (with hot water). My room was well laid out with a good size bathroom that separately accommodated a bath and a spacious shower unit. Excellent air conditioning which stayed on when you left the room. The Blue Sky Lounge provides a stunning view of Ulaanbaataar.

Most of the front desk staff members are very professional, friendly, and helpful as usual, but there are a few who are not. I would appreciate it if the manager could provide them with further training.

I enjoyed my stay at the Blue Sky hotel, the tallest building in UB. It is centrally located and right in front of the Sükhbaatar square. The staffs are very friendly and accommodating, specifically Nara at the front desk. She politely answered all my questions about the hotel and the area and she provided great recommendations. She also arranged my airport transportation which is offered at the hotel. The breakfast is great, they have a breakfast buffet and you can also choose cooked breakfast with scrambled eggs and pancake. At the 23rd and 24th flr there is a sky lounge where you get a good view of UB.
Overall, it was a great experience. I recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

I think the general policy for enforcing total nights as booked originally creates inflexibility to travellers especially business travellers.
I had health concern and requires to check out earlier to catch change in flight schedule. However, the hotel enforces a penalty on my situation and agreed to waive half of charges after negotiation.

Huge hotel but not really up to the 4.5 star label. Took an age to check-in as the systems were offline, then the room smelled of smoke, so we switched rooms. Once that was done it was fine - decent room, big bed and most importantly a decent shower (as we'd been out in the desert).

The location is perfect. Unfortunately did not have a chance to use the pool or the sky lounge though over all it was satisfactory stay. The staffs are nice and helped a lot in helping a personal interest to try to find a stray cat got in a car in near-by building. The staffs are well trained and the responses is always good. However if they look more friendly would be super. It is not a complaint and just a matter of preference I guess.

This 5 star hoteldid not have heating! Ulaan Bataar gets very cold at night! They did not tell us until we got to our room. Breakfast was extremely poor. Completely unacceptsble at a 5-star

Stayed in Blue Sky Hotel for the first time. Was very disappointed as the room had a couple of issues. There was pumping problem with the toilet..... After 3 full flash, it still did not do the job. The shower door could not be shut properly and I had to use my hand to stop it from opening to prevent water from splashing into the basin area. On a positive note, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful though they do not speak fluent English. Breakfast spread is decent, eggs are cooked differently as desired. Overall experience is not pleasant hence would try another hotel in my next visit to Ulaanbaatar.

The hotel itself was great. The room was big and clean, and you can see the centre of Ulannbaatar through the window. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby. However, the services were extremely slow - slow check-in and check-out, and I requested to have a travel adapter, which was promised but never delivered. The breakfast is just about average.

Firstly, the building is stunning and the views from the higher floors (we were on 16) are awesome. The rooms are decent with a good bath and a great big comfy bed. Our room was very big which was good. We also really enjoyed the breakfast. Very good selection and good quality.
Now for the negatives: the electric shocks! I've seen this mentioned in other reviews so it's clearly a problem. Every time I touched a metal surface in my room (door handle, window ledge, light switch etc.) I got a small but painful electric shock. This needs to be sorted out asap! Next, all of the power outlets near the bed did not work. So we couldn't charge devices or use lamps near the bed.
There was one set of lights that we could not find a switch for to turn them off. This meant we had to take the card out of the slot to turn them off which means the AC also had to go off. This was very frustrating. The AC itself didn't work properly anyway. There were 2 separate controls for it and it didn't seem to work properly. The windows of the room were very dirty on the outside but I expect this is due to regular sandstorms coming up from the desert areas.
We used the pool but the area was dirty and run down.
All in all this hotel should be excellent and should be competing with the Shangri-La but they really need to get on top of the maintenance. The hotel really needs to be maintained better and the issues set out in people's reviews need to be addressed.

We enjoyed our stay at the Blue Sky hotel very much. The staff were very friendly and helpful- perhaps the most helpful of any staff in any hotel I have been in. Our luggage was not at the airport and they helped us scan documents to email with no hesitation. We also had to cancel a tour, make other arrangements and contact people about the luggage and they made the phone calls for us.
The hotel was very bright, the rooms spacious, the beds were comfortable, there is a large shower and they have good amenities including a pool. There are 3 restaurants and a restaurant/ bar. After some confusion about what hotel parking was available with my package, the manager very promptly and pleasantly resolved the issue. The rooms are lovely and the staff is friendly. There were lots of NYE parties throughout the hotel, but the room was quiet and undisturbed and the hotel's restaurants were still serving guests. We were also graciously allowed up to the 24th floor for the best view of the city and all its holiday lights without crashing the private party in Blue Sky Lounge. Breakfast had a great variety, better than other hotels in the city - kudos to the made-to-order omelets. Overall, a very pleasant stay.
