Not a bad property although I think this might be a love hotel as there are condoms on the bed when I arrived. The bathroom is also very basic and if you’re used to western standard bathrooms, you might be surprised. Otherwise the room is pretty good and I did like how my room had a balcony. For me to stay was completely fine, but I think for others it might be a little bit too basic.

the property was in a very good location there are plenty of restaurants nearby and the price of the room at $15 a night is unbelievable I'm always going to stay there I've never thought about staying in a hotel at that price but once I did it is a super Hotel they have very good food there they have a karaoke on the property it's a lot of fun

Their were cockroaches and bugs in our room. However, the owner was very nice. He had a newborn and he offered us water when we would come back to the room. It seemed like him and his wife were the only ones cleaning while the brothers would sit around and smoke down stairs. So I understand why the place is not very clean. But be aware there are other men who checks in customers and every time I would come back to the room they would be smoking down stairs in the check in area and would just STARE at us. It was very creepy. I think it is a family own business and he is one of the brothers.

Nice little number.

Good hotel a little off the tourist track. Good all round and easy access to the city. Beware late night taxis may not be keen to take you back at night. Just because of the distance. Local area has handy shops and chemists. Only thing this hotel misses is a pool. I’ve stayed here a number of time and will Ben returning.

One of the best budget hotel from-to-airport

This is our small favourite hotel for fly out & fly back from the UK,comfy bed,good service,close to the Mall shopping centre to shops for ur loves one,local speed boat to Central World or further to Grand Palace which is faster than take a taxi through the traffic.lots of food stores,restaurants close by.taxi to the airport only 200baht so I would recommend other to stay here

Stay away from this hotel.

The building exterior and lobby make it look inviting but no effort made to update guest rooms. Tacky rooms, no shower but a handheld hose with a shower head next to the toilet, felt unclean and creepy from the start. Elevator was to be out of order the next day and we were put on the 7th floor. Poor staff; seemed uninterested in our comfort level. Hotel staff was hesitant to return our money and a $600 Bhat deposit on the room keys when we told them the hotel did not meet our standards and was far less than what was presented on Expedia and the hotel website.

Vabua becomes one of my favourite hotel before i fly out and return,good value for a comfortable nights sleep and easy access by speed boat to Pratunam for shopping,Grand Palace and Kaosan rd for a day tour by yourself.Only down side at this stayed was lots of hairs under the wooden counter beside the television & cushion on the chair so if they could improve about cleanliness would be nicer.I would stay here again in the future

we got the room on the 9th floor over looking to the football stadium,clean,specious room for not expensive price and very friendly staff,free shuttle bus to get on a speed boat to Grand Palace,Kaosan Rd,Pratunam shopping center,close to the airport less than 200 baht and lots of great street food,restaurants nearby which very short walking distance or 60 baht by taxi,we are coming back to stay here again in the future

Quiet hotel away from tourist areas

A little out of the way (especially factoring in Bangkok's terrible traffic), but the staff and facilities are good.

The rooms are a decent size and cleaned daily by friendly staff. A restaurant downstairs serves a combination of western and Thai food and is relatively inexpensive. Karaoke is available 24/7 and there is an outdoor dining and bar area. Most of the staff have a basic understanding of English.

Wifi is available for a small fee, we were lucky enough to get complimentary wi-fi; it's not fast but worked better in the room than the True 4G mobile broadband. There is a TV with a good selection of Thai programming and a couple of English language channels. Our credit cards didn't work at the ATMs located at the hotel, however they worked fine at the 7-11s located a few minutes walk away - and there are at least two on the road the hotel is on.

The Mall Bang Kapi is a comfortable walk away, and Taxis are easy to get and cost about B60 to get there.

Great Hotel But Lousy Service

This hotel was very beautiful with nightly music. The room was amazing however the service in the restaurant was bad. The staff members spoke on English and didn't seem as they even wanted to serve English speakers. The front desk staff member who spoke English tried to help as best as he could but the hotel owner could not be reached although there is a post if any problems contact the a number I could not reach him at all.

The location of this hotel was just bad and the staff could not offer any solutions for traveling around Bangkok. Although recently I've found out from a friend of mine that the river boat dock is close by so that is an option that could be offered to guest. Also they clearly advertise they have karaoke to English speakers but they don't have any English songs.

I will say that if you have a person that speaks Thai then this is a lovely hotel. The biggest issue is the staff members are unable to speak English, so this makes things difficult.

Indifferent staff and dodgy comings and goings between couples entering and leaving the private Karaoke rooms. Room however was clean and comfortable.

disappointed room, far from city with heavy traffic taxi takes about 40 minutes. free wifi to 1 device only additional hand phone or laptop have to buy the wifi data for each device and which have to re-key in the password every 2 hours.
really need to renovate the room and also the air-con compressor really vibrates every time the compressor kicks in

We got good value for the price we paid! The Hotel has a good restaurant, especially if you are a meat eater. It is very close to several houses of ill repute, if that is your interest. Non of the folks we were with really enjoyed the Thai food. Next door is another Hotel that has a better breakfast. There are places to shop everywhere you look!

was a short stay we got in late so got to the hotel pretty much to eat and sleep. the food was ok but where we decided to sit we saw some pretty big rats frolicking around In the dish bin sooo i lost my appetite quite quickly. The bedroom was good enough for 3people. AC was great washroom was an all in one! shower and sit on the toilet lol

For those with business in eastern Bangkok the location is fine, but expect to use taxis. However, you can quickly and cheaply get to central BKK from Wat Klang Pier just down the road. All of the staff are great and the service is friendly and professional. Choose a suite room. The patio restaurant/bar area is nice October to January when it's a little cooler!

I loved my room. Good value for the money but it was far from the excitement so most of what I saved went to taxis. The food was ok but not great. Often cold when delivered by room service. Hotel is guest friendly. They only give you one wife password for one device and you have to login a lot. Do not lose your password. The tutut could go farther. I didn't think location would be a problem because of the advertised tuttut but when I tried to use it I found out it only goes a couple blocks away.

Only 2 setback but this is mainly most important thing for the hotel. The bedding is really bad, its like sleeping on the concrete for the mattress and pillow. So uncomfortable. They should do something about this. People want comfort in sleeping rather than the capacity. Restaurant is a bit pricey too.

It's pretty convenient to get a taxi from and to Don Mueang Airport and not too costly either - from the airport about THB 350 and to the airport about THB 250. The hotel is a little far from mass transport like MRT, etc. although a 10 to 15 min. taxi ride for about THB 80 NE along Lad Prao Road to Lad Prao MRT station will get you to the city. Or taxi (about THB 90) from Lad Prao Road then down Ramkhamhaeng Road to Ramkhamhaeng Station on the the Airport Rail Link either to Suvarnabhumi Airport or in the opposite direction west downtown. You can also walk 10 minutes south from the hotel to the canal ferry Wat Klang pier which goes pretty well directly west into the city for about THB 19 (Check and be sure of the pier names which are in Thai and alphabet so you know where to get off.) The Suite and Executive rooms on the 8th and 9th floors are where you should stay especially on the south Metro Point side as they are quieter.

looking for an affordable place in Bangkok?

our stay in Vabua Asotel Bangkok was nice... prices in their resto are also reasonable and taste good!
there is also a near mall which is the \"The Mall\" and beside it are the tiangge stores... but if you want to go to the city of Bangkok it will take you 35-50 mins depending where in the city you want to go... so by paying cheap for your hotel... it may cost you some money going around the city because its far from the tourist destination... but overall it was good stay... :)

Checked in there were no issues. Room service was good, bellboy brought our luggage up. They have a 24 hr rest. and karaoke rooms which you can hire at the hotel so you can go downstairs and eat at anytime. Close to The Mall Bangkapi. Would stay here again.

Unexpexted Early Arrival

Vabua is a jewel of a hotel in the middle of Ladprao, Bangkok. The rooms are massive for the money and more than comfortable. The staff is all amazing, and take very good care of their guests. Ordering room service for the first few days was an absolute treat, as they have one of the largest hotel menus I have ever seen, especially for the low cost of the rooms.

Tons of things to do in walking distance, and as Ladprao is the #2 city within Bangkok to live in, there is no shortage of entertainment, shopping, and eateries close by. I highly recommend eating at their restaurant as it was authentic Thai cuisine with a touch of class at very reasonable prices.

My fiance's car as well as my motorcycle were guarded around the clock by their friendly security staff, which gave me extra peace of mind. By far, this is the best hotel in Ladprao!!!!!!

I've stay here for 11 days. I like it here quite comfortable and convenient and the hotel itself has 24 hrs room service and the lounge bar is great. Most of the staffs are friendly and can speak simple English. Especially the bell boys are friendly and helpful. Left for 3 days to a resort and book again to stay for 2 nights. But there's a particular staff (lady) I've reckoned she needs more training as she quiet agreesive and rude as she's working at the front desk.

Staff tries hard to work with an hotel in dire need op upgrading. Furniture in rooms is old and used. More bedding could be provided instead of sleeping under bare blankets. Perhaps a few floors can be set aside for families so as not to have to be confronted with the single men/party scene

I have no issue with the bed but my husband can't sleep on it because it's too firm for him. The internet is free for one device only unless you log out from the device you use. For us traveling as a family, I have to pay 150 baht extra. We end up buying a phone there and use it as a hotspot cost about 2000 baht and we use for a couple week. Worth it.

I have a complain about room service tho. My husband and I bought some pad thai from the outside shop to the hotel room for late night snack. Then we didn't really we don't have utensils. It's ok.. I ask room service for a set of fork and spoon. They said they will charge me for that! Really? I never have to pay for utensils in any hotel before. I told them I just want one set. They said ok they won't charge. Then I wait for an hour for them to bring up to the room. I have to make a call ask after waiting for almost half of hour. Our food ended up cold but anyway.. Bad experience!!

One more thing since I travel with a toddler. The bathroom is bad! It cannot be locked. My son kept trying to get in the shower room everytime we did our business. No fun. It will be better to get those fix also.

The front desk and shuttle service are very nice and friendly. Also very informative.

Extremely good quality hotel value for money

This is the first time I have ever booked a hotel online, after reading the reviews I decided on this hotel. I booked the executive room as I thought it would be nice to have more space, and it was also good value. I arrived before 2pm and as my room was ready I was shown to the apartment. The double room was exactly as I had seen on the photos, two very nice pleasant light rooms. LCD tv,s in each room,a safe, refrigerator with some food and drink, built in hairdryer,air con units in each room that were nice and quiet and very efficient. Even complementary slippers. I booked this room initially for three nights,as it was so good I booked for a further four nights while I was there. The room comes with a very comprehensive food menu, which we had on several occasions and it was very quick. A very short walk down the end of the road and you reach the main bus route. Also catching a taxi outside the hotel is extremely easy, taxis are very cheap in Bangkok. Come to think of it most things are very cheap here compared to the UK. This is a perfect hotel for staying in the area. It is a very clean hotel with very polite and helpful staff. I would recommend this hotel to anybody, in fact I already have. This was my first visit to Thailand, and I would definitely stay here again ! :)

It was not a pleasant experience. To have the staff state that my room was not paid for, and then have to show them proof beyond the receipt was just the start of the fun. The staff tried to state that our confirmation number was not good enough, and then made us wait an hour and then we brought them more online proof, so all in all, it was not worth the aggravation. All hotels.com said was that they were sorry, rather than saying something useful, like, we will contact them and inquire as to why this happened, and we will discuss whether to carry them as an offering, or something more than a sterile generic apology that does nothing to address the treatment that a paying member experienced.

Booked a standard room got upgraded to suite which was pretty cool, rooms were adequate for sleeping, heard abit of noise because my balcony was facing parking lot but slept like a baby. If you have to be in lat phrao/bangkapi for some reason then this is the place to be, most of the staff were great, they went above and beyond for us and the free tuk tuk was excellent. Already booked my next stay with them.

Very Good Value for 3 star.

This is a good hotel for a 3 star category. The only inconvenient is the location off the main streets and far from BTS or subway lines. Many air-cond bus lines are available on Ramkhamhaeng. Also, for the adventurous, you can try the canal boat public services (not recommended). The hotel is old, but well kept. The room is a bit larger than competitors.

Actual room is 90% same as photos.
Only thing I don't like is that the water heater isn't really effective.

Noisiest hotel on the planet!!!!

Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever experienced!! Dreadful noise problems all night and all day!! Would highly reccomend travellers AVOID using this hotel - sleep is impossible to achieve.

Nice but quiet

For me it was a nice stay. The receptions english was a bit.. Well it was understandable and they tried really hard to help me out and I appreciate that alot!The bed was awesome and the room itself was totally fine. I just don't understand why all the hotels use water boiler and don't have actual cabin showers.. And the location is quite far away from the city or the next train station. But all in all it was a nice place and a nice stay. I'd return.

A really friendly hotel, staff were lovely and rooms were clean and big. We enjoyed our stay and would go there again. The only draw backs were there was no pool and the hotel was a little bit further from central Bangkok than we thought.

Cheap hotel

You get what you pay for. Rockhard bed and much noice from bar and other guests. Staff are friendly. Location is not good at all.

Cheap hotel

If you tend to wake up by loud sounds / noise, then you really should book one other hotel. The beds are hard and absolutely no comfort. When you call the front desk, they just hang up up after you've said what you want. / desire. Live music every evening until late at night. The bar is open 24 hours and a lot of noise from the bar. Also need total renovation.

friendly staff,helping right away whenever your request.great local speed boat to Pratunam,sukhumvit rd and Kaosan rd,Grand palace.food strolls nearby till 1am.a huge shopping center a few minutes away so its great to shop more before i fly back.would be back to stay here again

Good value

Very friendly staff. Restaurant has a great menu and is run 24 hours. Has a nice looking fountain area downstairs during night. Surroundings are not remarkable and the hotel is too far from the centre but there are some good shopping areas nearby. Personnel who clean the rooms are very loud in the morning. But overall it's is a very good value for money and provides a pleasant stay.

good average hotel

I am staying in the suite, with a double bed. I choose this hotel because it is near to where my friends are staying. I don't mind travelling to the train station and the staffs are friendly. The room is clean but there are mosquitoes in the room. I am doubtful about the sheets as i felt itch when i lie on the bed. Overall, the hotel is good.

BKK Vaboir Lodge

Nice hotel, should be more clean at some spots. Especially the sofa was not cleaned and caused itching and allergies. This happened now already in 3 different rooms (executive rooms).
