Overall, this place is way over priced. I'd describe it as a step up from a chain hotel. For nearly $500 a night, I had much higher expectations of the entire stay. All night we heard doors slamming from other rooms. The only TV options were to sign in to your own streaming services. There was a coffee machine in the room, but not even a bottle of water. The wicker seating in the room was pretty useless. Check-in at 4pm is later than any other hotel I've stayed at. It was clean and the bed was comfortable, but again, absolutely not worth that price by any stretch. We would not pay that kind of money again for a stay.

This was a beautiful hotel and a great location for our three day stay in Buena Vista for my family of four. The beds were very comfortable and the staff very friendly. The onsite restaurant was also very good and not too outrageously priced. However, I do feel like some functionality was sacrificed for aesthetics. For example, our room in the chateau had no comfortable place to sit other than the bed. It would be nice to have a club chair or upholstered bench so that all four of us could watch a movie. I also feel like our room should be cleaned during our stay at $400 per night. There’s also no ice access for the chateau rooms - you have to ask the front desk. The parking lot is tiny so we had to park off site a few times. Overall it’s a beautiful place, and we did enjoy our stay. The nespresso makers in the rooms were a nice bonus.

The setting is gorgeous, very cute park across the street, a few restaurants nearby. We enjoyed the mezcaleria across the park and the restaurant at the hotel very much! Easy walk down to the river. Definitely will stay at the Surf again.

Surf Hotel has grown into an amazing property over the years. Our beds were filled with comfy bedding and plenty of pillows. There was a great wrap around porch with rocking chairs. Amazing views of the river and the mountains.
The staff was so friendly! We ate at the restaurant a few times, everything was incredible, especially the s’mores cake.
The pool was nice and private. The water felt great. There were a few fireplaces for guest to enjoy. And the coffee offered in the morning lobby was delicious.
This place is an excellent get away! Great walking paths, and plenty of other outdoor activities to do. I can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful place! The hotel is right next to the cutest coffee shop, it was so nice to grab some coffee and walk next to the river. It was a relaxing time, easy check in and out, restaurant was great and the location is perfect! We will be back and definitely recommend!

Everything was excellent! Everything was clean, the property was beautiful as was our view off our 3rd floor balcony. Soaking in the salt water hot pool was wonderful. Also, we were very impressed with the cleanliness and vibrancy of Buena Vista.

We have stayed at the Surf Hotel a number of times and it remains one of our favorite hotels. We book a river front room with a balcony overlooking the Arkansas River and are never disappointed. The rooms are beautiful, the staff super friendly and helpful.

The property was beautiful. Staff terrific. Food and beverage great. We checked in after dark, then we woke up and discovered that in the beautiful morning sun our room was filthy. The furniture was worn and stained. Fingers prints and spills. Mildewy shower curtain. We paid for a premium room with a gorgeous view and couldn’t get out of there fast enough.

The ladder to the “loft” is ridiculous and dangerous. Get a spiral staircase or a better architect.
The cement floors are freezing.
The Bathroom mirrors are placed awkwardly to the side of the sink. The towels are placed stupidly far away from the shower.
The heating/cooling system soothes you to sleep with a constant chirp/hum.

The hotel was beautiful and in a great location near mainstreet and the river! It was perfect for the wedding we were attending. The lack of 5 stars was the staff, not personable (except for the manager, she was great!). They seemed bothered by us dropping by front desk to even check in or ask a question.

Gorgeous property and rooms! The restaurant and bar is amazing. Positive vibes and breathtaking views. It’s about a ten minute walk to Main Street and about a ten minute drive to the hot springs.
